  I have signed up for google apps recently for my organisation. The google apps guide says that I need to edit the MX entry for my domain so that the mails get redirected to the google mail servers instead of my default mail server. But, I am having a doubt whether to edit the MX entry on my domain name provider or the hosting server. My domain name provider is godaddy.com and my server is ServInt. And, moreover, what difference does it make if I edit the MX entries on my hosting provider or my domain name provider. Thanks, niting

• Fix single entry from mbr

  I use EasyBCD to manage my tripleboot of (1) Windows Server 2008 R2, (2) Windows 7 Professional and (3) Ubuntu Linux. While trying to change the order of my boot menu I ended up losing the Windows Server entry. Luckily I had a boot menu backup (.bcd file) that allowed me to restore my boot menu using EasyBCD. However, when I now select the Windows Server option in my boot menu the Windows Server Recovery Environment starts up. So I have to select language/keyboard layout/etc. and then I have 3 options as shown in the image below. . My goal is to fix the one corrupted Windows Server entry from my boot menu without messing up or losing the two other ones. I'm guessing the Recovery Console (Command Prompt) is the next step and that I will be needing bootrec.exe. But when consulting this page: Use the Bootrec.exe tool in the Windows Recovery Environment to troubleshoot and repair startup issues in Windows (about half way down there's a link that shows the bootrec.exe options) I'm getting uncertain. The page lists 4 options for bootrec.exe : /FixMbr /FixBoot /ScanOs /RebuildBcd What option do I need to fix just the server entry of my boot menu? Thanks in advance, Sander P.S. • Help updating cron entry using regular expressions

  hi I am trying to update a cron entry NOT by using crontab -e but by shell commands. For example the cron entry is like this: 10 * * * * /home/localuser/foo.sh -b 1 -h 4 > foo_output.sh 2>&1 No i need edit the command line parameters part ONLY i.e -b 1 -h 4 to something else which will be coming in from the user. First thing would be to write the crontab to a tmp file and then manipulate that temp file. Now, is there an easy way to edit that line using SED or something? The crude way wud be to delete that entire line, write a new line with the entire expression and then load that into the cron. I am not very good with regular expressions. My system supports sed -i so was thinking this could be done in a single line command. Thanks in advance

• Accessing the feed/entry/id field of an ATOM 1.0 feed with the ROME library

  Hi, I feel a bit stupid asking this question, but I don't know how I can access the ID field of an entry when using ROME to parse an Atom feed. ROME provides it's own meta level of feeds/items, i.e. SyndFeed and SyndEntry. Being an abstraction over RSS and ATOM they only contain elements both formats support. Thus, there is no method to get an ID of an entry. There also exist low level packages for the distinct formats, and the Atom package contains com.sun.syndication.feed.atom.Entry, which provides getId(). However, I don't know how can I convert my SyndEntry into an Entry. I have not found a way to convert it. The (outdated) tutorials show a conversion, but that's only for output though. So how can I easily access the ID field? Thanks in advance.

Now I want to select for every column the column with the maximum entry, something like this. Select name_of_column(max(col1,col2,col3)). I know that I can ask for the name of the columns by its ordinal position in the information_schema.COLUMNS table but how do I get the ordinal position of a database entry within a table?

• WebHost Manager - Apache's VHost isn't matching the DNS entry

  I've used CPanel's WebHost Manager to create a new host on my VPS. I then used my HOSTS file to point fake.com to the relevant IP address. The problem I'm having now is, Apache isn't recognizing the VHost,or something, as it's just loading the default entry and 404'ing every document I try to GET. • GNU screen cannot find terminfo entry on HP-UX

  I am trying to make screen work on HP-UX B.11.23 U ia64 0308561483 unlimited-user license. Please notice I do not have root access. I have already compiled screen successfully, configured with LIBS=-lcurses. When I try to start screen it wrotes Cannot find terminfo entry for 'xterm'. But there ARE terminfos for the terminal type in screen-4.0.3> ls -a /usr/share/lib/terminfo/x/ . .. x-hpterm x1700 x1720 x1750 xitex xl83 xterm xterms I thing the problem may be there are in non-standard path, because according to man page standard path is /usr/lib/terminfo/?/* What I tried: But as I said I do not have root access so cant make symlink, anyway I tried run screen with filled TERMINFO_DIRS (TERMINFO_DIRS=/usr/share/lib/terminfo/x/ ./screen and TERMINFO_DIRS=/usr/share/lib/terminfo/ ./screen) but none of them work - same error. Change TERM to different values - same error Cannot find terminfo entry for <WHATEVER WHAT WAS IN TERM VAR>. Put something into screenrc and run ./screen -c screenrc screen-4.0.3> cat screenrc attrcolor b ".I" term xterm termcap xterm* LP:hs@ termcapinfo xterm 'Co#256:AB=\E[48;5;%dm:AF=\E[38;5;%dm' defbce "on" But no luck so far, have you got any suggestions? • Apache Virtualhost entry with Windows hostname

  I have a Windows Domain Controller and we use it for DNS for our internal network. I have an Ubuntu box with an IP address of 172.16.34.149. Within the Windows DNS I created the forward and reverse lookup entries for the name Endymion. Naturally when ever I FTP/SSH/HTTP/etc to the hostname Endymion it resolves correctly to my Ubuntu box. I wanted to do some web development on this box for an existing site. There were problems when I placed the website in a subfolder of /var/www/. Let's just say it was in folder /var/www/projectx/. The issue involved the incorrect resolution of non-relative urls. So I figure I could create a new DNS entry for the hostname projectx. Sure enough when I FTP/SSH/HTTP/etc to the hostname projectx it takes me to the same ubuntu box as the hostname Endymion...this is what I would expect. I now have two hostnames for the same box. I then create a Virtualhost entry in httpd.conf that looks like the following: <VirtualHost *:80> DocumentRoot /var/www/projectx ServerName projectx ServerAlias projectx </VirtualHost> Sure enough when I go to a browser and type in http://projectx/ it takes me to the correct subfolder. Everything works!!! Not so fast. I then go to http://endymion/ and instead of taking me to /var/www/ it takes me to /var/www/projectx/ Clearly I'm missing something. Help please! ;)

The problem is: Why?!! Some explanation about the code: CustomTask is almost the same as Task, but I was having problems regarding serialization as can be seen here I don't want to send the Severity property populated because I want my message to be as small as possible. Could anyone clear to my, why it recognize the entry, but creates a new entry in the DB?

  On a click of a button named "Add Textbox" it calls a function which creates a single textbox using (gtk.Entry) function. So each time i click that button it creates a textbox. I have a submit button which should fetches all the values of the text boxes(say 10 textboxes) generated with the name of "entry". It works for one textbox but not for multiple. • svnkit: Problem getting entry name

  I'm trying to create a SVN Eclipese EFS plugin and have problems when getting the names of entries. When I make a call to: SVNRepository `//Fetches the contents of a directory into the provided collection object and returns the directory entry itself. SVNDirEntry getDir(String path, long revision, boolean includeCommitMessages, Collection entries)` It correctly returns the entry for the provided path, however, it doesn't set the "name" value on the "returned" entry. Note, the items returned in the collection are all OK. Does anyone know why this is? And/or if there is a workaround? • iPhone Text entry with completion and DONE button (not search)

  Using iPhone SDK 3.0, I wish to allow text entry with (optional) completion options that appear as typing is occurring, i.e. also allowing freeformat entry. As such I am using a UISearchBar (which has the text change events) and a UISearchDisplayController to present options. The problems is I want the DONE button to say DONE and not SEARCH, however I cannot find a way to set that. Clearly I feel I am missing something, or Interface Builder of the SDK API would have some property to set. I have seen other apps (in the store) that have achieved the result I want (free format entry, completion, DONE button) so maybe there is an alternative approach I am missing. Thanks in advance for any pointers.

  I have a deamon which is registered with launchctl to run as system-wide-daemon and to load automatically with every system startup or if the daemon crashes. I have registered this daemon with: sudo launchctl load -w /Library/LaunchDaemons/plist.file Everything works fine. My daemon is registered and with sudo launchctl list I can find the entry at launchctl But on some Macs after the user restarts the system, my daemon is not running. And with the command sudo launchctl list I can't find the entry anymore. Any ideas, why the entry is missing???

  I get this error. The procedure entry php_mb_check_encoding_list could not be located in the dynamic link library php_mbstring.dll The error is related to the php.ini settings, I think.. It finds it difficult to locate the extension I suspect, I put an environment path to the php.exe and its extensions folder, but when I run the command line and call php.exe, that error is being thrown. I use windows. I have got this set in my php.ini. ; On windows: extension_dir = "C:\xampp\php\ext" I installed xampp.. the php version is the latest.. Another thing which is weird is when I try to print out: phpinfo..nothing is being printed out <?php echo phpinfo(); ?> nothing comes out?!?! The question is why and how can I prevent it from being thrown..

• dhclient configures /etc/resolv.conf with invalid entry

  I'm trying to figure out why running dhclient on my interface sets /etc/resolv conf to the ip number of my gateway(router). This entry is invalid and each and every time causes inability to resolve any address. I would like to: stop dhclient from overwriting the /etc/resolv.conf or make dhclient write there the valid dns ip from my router More on the environment: I'm using virtual Debian Wheezy as a client system on Windows Seven x64. It is run by Virtualbox with networking mode set to bridged (all packets from debian are injected to my network interface on windows). If I manually configure the /etc/resolv.conf then everything works fine. Doing this on every boot is quite annoying.. PS I know I can write a script to do it for me, but this is not the solution I want. //edit router ip: 192.168.1.100 /etc/resolv.conf AFTER running dhclient eth0: "nameserver 192.168.1.100" what I would like the /etc/resolv.conf to look like: "nameserver 89.202.xxxx" (I don't have to provide the real ip do I? )

  I get this error when trying to run a program on a Windows computer: Because it's a Dutch Windows version it is in Dutch, but in English it would be something like "Procedure entry point EncodePointer could not be located in kernel32.dll". I've been looking for a solution on the net and I think it has something to do with SP's of Windows. This are the system settings: Does this mean I'm not using any Windows XP Service Pack? I'm working on this for someone else, it's an old computer, not connected to the internet. Should I connect the computer to the internet and install all Windows updates to solve the problem? No other solution?

• MAMP - Host name changes to first vhost SSL entry for project with two localhosts

  I have two projects that are a copy of each other on my Mac with MAMP. They both have SSL pages. However, whenever I hit the a secured SSL page of project 2, the base_url or host changes to project1 instead of remaining project2. I know this is an issue with the vhosts, because if I switch the order of the entries, the reverse happens. • Clicking a link in IE6 doesn't load page (internal DNS entry on our intranet)

  I have a very strange problem that is only affecting some versions of IE6. The problem does affect IE 6.0.2900.5512, but does not seem to affect 6.0.3790.3959 Basically I work for a company and we have an intranet. While I'm not an expert on "internal DNS pointers", what I was able to do was create a website (let's say about football), and when an employee who is sitting behind the company firewall types the word "football" in to the web address bar of their web browser, they get redirected to a particular server. I am told this is some kind "internally pointing DNS entry". So, I've set one of these up, and I have a placed a link to it on our company intranet page. However, when the link is clicked in IE6.0.2900.5512, the page goes blank. Clicking "refresh" then loads the correct page (the one specified in the link). Can anyone help me out here. I have tried changing the way URL is formed, everything from //football to http://football/ etc. The link works fine in every other browser and IE7+, but unfoturnatly, IE6 is still the most common browser in use at my organisation.

  I've searched for an answer to this one and I haven't found one yet. How do i remove a single item from Windows' System tray? I'm targeting Windows XP. Edit: This is not about preventing items from starting up. I want the program to keep running, I just need another script/program to remove the first one's entry from system tray. Second Edit: One approach that I can think of is to try to hide the intended app by modifying registry keys. On several test machines I've found some registry entries that match the System tray information at HKEY_USERS\something-that-looks-like S-1-5-21-682003330-1563985344-725345543-1003\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\TrayNotify with BalloonTip, IconStream and PastIconsStream containing systray information. The important one is IconStream. On other machines, these are found at hkey_classes_root/local/setting/software/microsoft/windows/currentversion/TrayNotify I'm quite sure there's no danger in changing those specific registries, but I don't know how to write code for that. Can anyone help me with the code and with confirming if this has the desired effect of hiding the systray icon for an active program?
