  • How to quickly switch between extended desktop and Eyefinity on ATI cards?

    Eyefinity is great for games but extended desktop is better for normal work. How do I set up quick switching between those two modes? I've heard that it can be achieved using "Profiles" in Catalyst Control Center - I've found something called "Presets" in the latest 11.x version but can't figure it out (settings not being stored and applied properly). Can someone provided step by step instructions please?

  • Extended validation certificate not changing browser bar green in Firefox

    I'm having some problems with an Extended validation certificate on a site that isn't showing the green bar correctly in Firefox. Chrome and IE are working fine. When I load the page the bar appears for a few seconds and then disappears when the page has fully loaded. Someone mentioned it could be because of loading images over HTTPS, but I'm not sure how valid this case is. We have one image on the page that is loaded from another source over HTTPS, the rest of the images are stored in the file system on the server. FYI - its Windows Server 2008 and ASP.net UPDATE: Solved this problem - the style sheet was loading in a Google Font url using http, not https - changed it and now it's working.

    IsNullOrWhiteSpace is a new method introduced in string class in .NET 4.0. While this is a very useful method in string based processing, I attempted to implement it in .NET 3.5 using char.IsWhiteSpace() . I have found significant performance penalty using this method which I replaced later on, with my version. The following code takes about 20.6074219 seconds in my machine whereas my implementation of char.IsWhiteSpace takes about 1/4 less time 15.8271485 seconds only.   • ATI Catalyst doesn't retain changes after reboot when setting extended display

    I have Ubuntu 11.10 and I'm trying to set up extended display for my two displays. I have an AMD 6870. fglrx and fglrx-updates are installed. When I launch amdcccle trough the terminal (using sudo), I select in tab "Multi-Display" the option "Multi-display Desktop with Display(s)". Then it says for changes to be done I have to reboot my computer. Being a good an obedient lad I do just that, but after rebooting the displays are still in the same "clone" option as before in the Catalyst Control Center and no changes are made. Any suggestions?

  • Blender 2.63a window position unstable with dual monitor extended desktop

    I have two 1920 x 1200 HP monitors and running Ubuntu 12.10. If I set them up as an extended desktop, (both 1280 x 1024 positioned for 2048 x 1280, all my applications work fine EXCEPT Blender (even Inkscape). Blender works great on a single monitor but always defaults to a window size that uses all available real estate and it can't do that with 2048 x 1280. It launches, but jumps all over the screen. Does any know a way to start Blender in a fixed size window so it would run in just one monitor?

    this is my current hard disk status(Running linux Mint LIVE CD) i have- Ubuntu 12.04 on 206 GB partition at dev/sda1. dev/sda2 system reserved. Windows 7 on 90GB partition at dev/sda3 and linux swap in extended partition. what i want to do- I want to install Linux mint KDE on my system for that i want to create a new partition of 30GB(by shrinking the free space available at dev/sda1), i can't create that because i can create only 4 Primary partitions which are already there. so do i have to delete the Swap partition? and if i did how to force Mint KDE and Ubuntu 12.04 to use/share same swap space in new logical partition?

    Im using a dual monitor set-up a lot, but i have a problem. I need to forbid to clone the dektop, i want to use just the extended desktop feature. Can it be done somehow? It's a problem because, when is start my system with two monitor it starts automaticaly with cloned desktop. When i use the hotkey to switch beatween monitors the same problem occours.   • How can I translate Linux keycodes from /dev/input/event* to ASCII in Perl?

    I'm writing a Perl script that reads data from the infamous /dev/input/event* and I didn't find a way to translate the key codes generated by the kernel into ASCII. I'm talking about the linux key codes in this table here and I can't seem to find something that would help me translate them without hardcoding an array into the script. Am I missing something? I'd like to skip the array part because it doesn't seem to be a good practice, so any idea? :)
