  • Can't figure out how to use db:seed for rails in netbeans

    - by user317766
    can't seem to get my seeds.rb file to run through the command "rake db:seed". I'm using netbeans and I'm a beginner to rails, so I could be doing something really simple and stupid =/. I know you're meant to put your seeds.rb file in the db directory but netbeans doesn't seem to have one or might have renamed it... any help out there? Thanks in advance!

  • rewritten mysql query returning unexpected results, trying to figure out why

    - by dq
    I created a messy query in a hurry a while ago to get a list of product codes. I am now trying to clean up my tables and my code. I recently tried to rewrite the query in order for it to be easier to use and understand. The original query works great, but it requires multiple search strings in order to do one search because it uses UNIONS, and it has a few other issues. My newly modified query is easier to understand, and only requires one search string, but is returning different results. Basically the new query is leaving records out, and I would like to understand why, and how to fix it. Here are the two queries (search strings are all null): Original Query: $query = 'SELECT product_code FROM bus_warehouse_lots WHERE status=\'2\''.$search_string_1 .' UNION SELECT product_code FROM bus_po WHERE status=\'0\''.$search_string_2 .' UNION SELECT bus_warehouse_entries.new_product_code AS product_code FROM (bus_warehouse_entries LEFT JOIN bus_warehouse_transfers ON bus_warehouse_entries.picking_ticket_num=bus_warehouse_transfers.pt_number) LEFT JOIN bus_warehouse_lots ON bus_warehouse_entries.ebooks_lot_id=bus_warehouse_lots.id WHERE bus_warehouse_entries.type=\'6\' AND bus_warehouse_transfers.status=\'0\''.$search_string_3 .' UNION SELECT bus_contracts.main_product AS product_code FROM bus_contracts LEFT JOIN bus_warehouse_lots ON bus_contracts.main_product=bus_warehouse_lots.product_code WHERE bus_contracts.status=\'0\''.$search_string_4 .' UNION SELECT prod_id AS product_code FROM bus_products WHERE last_usage > \''.date('Y-m-d', strtotime('-12 months')).'\''.$search_string_5 .' ORDER BY product_code'; New Query: $query = 'SELECT bus_products.prod_id FROM bus_products' .' LEFT JOIN (bus_warehouse_lots, bus_po, bus_warehouse_entries, bus_contracts) ON (' .'bus_products.prod_id = bus_warehouse_lots.product_code' .' AND bus_products.prod_id = bus_po.product_code' .' AND bus_products.prod_id = bus_warehouse_entries.new_product_code' .' AND bus_products.prod_id = bus_contracts.main_product)' .' LEFT JOIN bus_warehouse_transfers ON' .' bus_warehouse_entries.picking_ticket_num = bus_warehouse_transfers.pt_number' .' WHERE (bus_products.last_usage > \''.date('Y-m-d', strtotime('-12 months')).'\'' .' OR bus_warehouse_lots.status = \'2\'' .' OR bus_po.status = \'0\'' .' OR (bus_warehouse_entries.type = \'6\' AND bus_warehouse_transfers.status = \'0\')' .' OR bus_contracts.status = \'0\')' .$search_string_6 .' GROUP BY bus_products.prod_id' .' ORDER BY bus_products.prod_id';

  • include figure files in latex

    - by Tim
    Hi, I am trying to include jpeg files in latex \includegraphics[width=57.6mm, height=43.2mm]{../../results2/html/zerooneloss_stumps.jpg} With specified the width and height and compiled with pdflatex, however, it produces the error: ! LaTeX Error: Cannot determine size of graphic in ../../results2/html/zerooneloss_stumps.jpg (no BoundingBox). The true size of the image is 576x432 in pixels. Have I specified the size correctly in the latex file? Anyway to use the default setting without need to specify the width and height? If I don't specify the them in the latex file, \includegraphics[]{../../results2/html/zerooneloss_stumps.jpg} I still get the same no BoundingBox error. Thanks and regards!

  • My form php is not working and I can't figure out where I went wrong

    - by user1081524
    I'm fairly new to all this, but I've created a form, and this is what I've written to send it. I've used "[email protected]" here instead of the real address <?php /* Set e-mail recipient */ $myemail = "[email protected]"; /* Check all form inputs using check_input function */ $names = check_input($_POST['names'], "Please return to our Application Form and enter your and your future spouse's names."); $weddingtype = check_input($_POST['weddingtype'], "Please return to our Application Form and fill in what kind of wedding you will be having."); $religioussect = check_input($_POST['religioussect'], "Please return to our Application Form and tell us about your religion and wedding traditions."); $dateone = check_input($_POST['dateone'], "Please return to our Application Form and give us the date for at least one event."); $eventone = check_input($_POST['eventone'], "Please return to our Application Form and list at least one event."); $locationone = check_input($_POST['locationone'], "Please return to our Application Form and give us the location for at least one event."); $durationone = check_input($_POST['durationone'], "Please return to our Application Form and give us the duration of at least one event."); $typeone = check_input($_POST['typeone'], "Please return to our Application Form and tell us whether you would like video, photo or both for at least one event."); $datetwo = $_POST['datetwo']; $eventtwo = $_POST['eventtwo']; $locationtwo = $_POST['locationtwo']; $durationtwo = $_POST['durationtwo']; $typetwo = $_POST['typetwo']; $datethree = $_POST['datethree']; $eventthree = $_POST['eventthree']; $locationthree = $_POST['locationthree']; $durationthree = $_POST['durationthree']; $typethree = $_POST['typethree']; $datefour = $_POST['datefour']; $eventfour = $_POST['eventfour']; $locationfour = $_POST['locationfour']; $durationfour = $_POST['durationfour']; $typefour = $_POST['typefour']; $guests1 = check_input($_POST['guests1'], "Please return to our Application Form and tell us how many guests will attend at least one event."); $guests2 = $_POST['guests2']; $guests3 = $_POST['guests3']; $guests4 = $_POST['guests4']; $concerns = $_POST['concerns']; if(!isset($_POST['submit'])){ $subject = "Quote Application"; /*Message for the e-mail */ $message = "Hello! • Scanner error that I can't figure out: NoSuchElementException

    It's crashing on the third line inside the do-while loop, and doesn't wait for my input: input = kb.nextInt(); Stack trace: Exception in thread "main" java.util.NoSuchElementException at java.util.Scanner.throwFor(Unknown Source) at java.util.Scanner.next(Unknown Source) at java.util.Scanner.nextInt(Unknown Source) at java.util.Scanner.nextInt(Unknown Source) at main.MainDriver.main(MainDriver.java:50) Relevant code: do { displayFullMenu(); System.out.print("Selection: "); input = kb.nextInt(); switch (input) { //Create new survey case 1: currentSurvey = new Survey(); break; //Display current survey case 2: currentSurvey.display(); break; //Save current survey case 3: saveSurvey(currentSurvey); break; //Load a survey case 4: currentSurvey = loadSurvey(); break; //Modify a survey case 5: currentSurvey.modify(); break; /*******************Test Functions*******************/ //Create new test case 6: currentSurvey = new Test(); break; //Display current test case 7: currentSurvey.display(); break; //Save current test case 8: saveSurvey(currentSurvey); break; //Load a test case 9: currentSurvey = loadTest(); break; //Modify a test case 10: currentSurvey.modify(); default: System.out.println("Invalid choice. Please make a valid choice: "); input = kb.nextInt(); System.out.println(); } } while (input != 99); kb.close(); It crashes after I choose option 9. It saves the file correctly, then goes back to the top of the loop, and crashes at the previously mentioned line. I want it to ask for more input. What gives?

  • Cannot figure out how to get rid of memory leak

    - by Mark S.
    I'm trying to test for memory leaks in my iphone and I'm not having much luck getting rid of this one. Here is the code that is leaking. - (id)initWithManagedObjectContext:(NSManagedObjectContext *)aMoc delegate:(id)aDelegate runSync:(BOOL)aRunSync { if (self = [super init]) { self.moc = aMoc; self.settingsManager = [[VacaCalcSettingsManager alloc] initWithManagedObjectContext:self.moc]; self.delegate = aDelegate; calendar = [[NSCalendar alloc] initWithCalendarIdentifier:NSGregorianCalendar]; self.runSync = aRunSync; } return self; } It is leaking on the self.settingsManager = [[VacaCalcSettingsManager alloc] initWithManagedObjectContext:self.moc]; line. The self.settingManager instance variable is released in the dealloc method of the class. I'm not sure what other information would be pertinent. Please let me know and I can provide it. Thanks for any assistance. -Mark

  • How to place caption (figure / table) into margin?

    - by Vít Baisa
    I write thesis and need to put a lot of small pictures into it. I also need to use captions (with labels) for better navigation and referring to these pictures. In the same time I want to spare space and put captions beside (next to) pictures, in margin, like marginpar does. I tried sidecap package but it didn't work, neither mcaption package did help. Maybe using a minipage would solve it, but I would like also to align caption to the middle (vertical align) of picture. Any suggestions?

  • VSFTPD: Cannot figure this thing out...

    - by A Wizard Did It
    Alright, I've been giving this the best that I can, reading through various tutorials on google, but I cannot seem to get vsftpd running the way I want. For a short while I had it working with one account, but then that stopped and I haven't been able to get it to work since. I've since reformated and reinstall Ubuntu 10.04 LTS. I used apt-get install vsftpd and that's where I am now... I'd really appreciate if anyone could help me understand exactly how this is supposed to work... How do I add FTP accounts and set their home directory to something like /var/www/public_html?

    - by 49er
    I've got a .fig file showing the intensities of 2d data. How do I obtain the values when I load it in Matlab? Is it even possible? When I try playing with the children properties I am able to obtain only the size of my x and y vectors, not the values themselves which I don't know how to extract.

  • PHP active page code - I can't figure out parse error

    - by dmschenk
    I'm trying to build an active page menu with PHP and MySQL and am having a difficult time fixing the error. In the while statement I have an if statement that is giving me fits. Basically I think I'm saying that "thispage" is equal to the "title" based on pageID and as the menu is looped through if "thispage" is equal to "title" then echo id="active". Thanks <?php mysql_select_db($database_db_connection, $db_connection); $query_rsDaTa = "SELECT * FROM pages WHERE pagesID = 4"; $rsDaTa = mysql_query($query_rsDaTa, $db_connection) or die(mysql_error()); $row_rsDaTa = mysql_fetch_assoc($rsDaTa); $totalRows_rsDaTa = mysql_num_rows($rsDaTa); $query_rsMenu = "SELECT * FROM menu WHERE online = 1 ORDER BY menuPos ASC"; $rsMenu = mysql_query($query_rsMenu, $db_connection) or die(mysql_error()); $thisPage = ($row_rsDaTa['title']); ?> <link href="../css/MainStyle.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> <h2><?php echo $thisPage; ?></h2> <div id="footcontainer"> <ul id="footlist"> <?php while($row_rsMenu = mysql_fetch_assoc($rsMenu)) { echo (" <li" . <?php if ($thisPage==$row_rsDaTa['title']) echo id="active"; ?> . "<a href=\"../" . $row_rsMenu['menuURL'] . "\">" . $row_rsMenu['menuName'] . "</a></li>\n"); } echo "</ul>\n"; ?> </div> <?php mysql_free_result($rsMenu); mysql_free_result($rsDaTa); ?>

  • Creating PHP strings using other variables...works manually, can't figure out how automatically

    - by Matt
    Hello, I'm trying to get a variable to be formed automatically using data pulled from a mysql database. I know the data is being pulled from the database in some form resembling its original form, but that data does not act the same as data that is manually typed and assigned to a string. For example, if a cell in a mysql table says... I said "goodbye" before I left. She also said "goodbye." ...and I manually copy/paste it and add the necessary escapes... $string1 = " I said \"goodbye\" before I left. She also said \"goodbye.\" "; ...that does not equal... $string1 = $mysqlResultArray['specificCellWithQuoteShownAbove'] Interestingly, if I echo both versions of $string1 and view the output, they appear to be exactly the same. But they do not function the same when put through various functions I've created. The functions only work if I do the manual copy/paste method--which is not what I want, obviously. I'm not sure if it has to do with the line breaks or the escapes--or some combination of the two. But while both strings are superficially the same, they are apparently functionally different and I don't know why. So how can I create $string1 without manually copy/pasting the contents from the mysql entry and instead querying for the data and assigning it to $string1 in such a way that it's exactly functionally equivalent as the manual copy/pasted string?

But it shows up as some other color. I opened it up in firebug, and it shows the computed color to be #FFFFF:
