    In Clojure, a map entry created within a macro is preserved... (class (eval `(new clojure.lang.MapEntry :a 7))) ;=> clojure.lang.MapEntry ...but when piped thru from the outside context collapses to a vector... (class (eval `~(new clojure.lang.MapEntry :a 7))) ;=> clojure.lang.PersistentVector This behavior is defined inside LispReader.syntaxQuote(Object form) condition if(form instanceof IPersistentCollection). Does anyone know if this is intended behavior or something that will be fixed?

I just hate spending hours figuring out how to get 5 pixels to show on every browser, and getting fonts to look like a PSD counterpart. So a question (or two) for programmers out there. How much time (%) do you spend on web markup? Do you tend to do this type of tweaking, or do your designers?

  • EF4 POCO Not Updating Navigation Property On Save

    I'm using EF4 with POCO objects the 2 tables are as follows Service ServiceID, Name, StatusID Status StatusID, Name The POCO objects look like this Service ServiceID, Status, Name Status StatusID, Name With Status on the Service object being a Navigation Property and of type Status. In my Service Repository I have a save method that takes a service objects attaches it to the context and calls save. This works fine for the service, but if the status for that service has been changed it does not get updated. My Save method looks like this public static void SaveService(Service service) { using (var ctx = Context.CreateContext()) { ctx.AttachModify("Services", service); ctx.AttachTo("Statuses",service.Status); ctx.SaveChanges(); } } The AttachModify method attaches an object to the context and sets it to modified it looks like this public void AttachModify(string entitySetName, object entity) { if (entity != null) { AttachTo(entitySetName, entity); SetModified(entity); } } public void SetModified(object entity) { ObjectStateManager.ChangeObjectState(entity, EntityState.Modified); } If I look at a SQL profile its not even including the navigation property in the update for the service table, it never touches the StatusID. Its driving me crazy. Any idea what I need to do to force the Navigation Property to update?

  • Why does my Google maps api v3 and side panel not fill my page upon resizing?

    I'm developing a web page and I have a side panel on the left with a search bar and a Google maps api v3 filling the rest of the page to the right. When I make the browser very small vertically, there is a white space between the side panel and the map, and the bottom of the browser. However, the text continues to the bottom of the browser.     I'm starting out in the world of SpecFlow and I have come across my first problem. In terms of keeping my code DRY I'd like to do the following: Have two scenarios: Given I am on a product page And myfield equals todays date Then... Given I am on a product page And myfield equals todays date plus 4 days Then... I was hoping to use the following Step Definition to cover both variants of my And clause: [Given(@"myfield equals todays date(?: (plus|minus) (\d+) days)?")] public void MyfieldEqualsTodaysDate(string direction, int? days) { //do stuff } However I keep getting exceptions when SpecFlow tries to parse the int? param. I've checked the regular expression and it definitely parses the scenario as expected. I'm aware that I could so something as crude as method overloading etc, I was just wondering if SpecFlow supported the idea of default parameter values, or indeed another way to achieve the same effect.   • Vim, how to scroll to bottom of a named buffer

    I have a vim-script which splits output to a new window, using the following command: below split +view foo I've been trying to find a way from an arbitrary buffer to scroll to the bottom of foo, or a setting to keep it defaulted to showing the bottom lines of the buffer. I'm doing most of this inside of a python block of vim script.   • Windows Service Start-Up Error 1069

    Hello, I am installing a new windows service coded in C# on a server. I installed the service fine on the server, but once i manually start up the service on a server, with the same login credentials that our other services use, i get the fatal error message notification: "Could not start the %service name% on Local Computer. Error 1069: The Service did not start due to a logon failure." I looked in the event log and i got a 7038 and 7000 event id error in that order. 7038 event id message: "The %service name% service was unable to log on as %login% with the currently configured password due to the following error: Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password. To ensure that the service is configured properly, use the Services snap-in in Microsoft Management Console (MMC)." 7000 event id message: "The %service name% service failed to start due to the following error: The service did not start due to a logon failure. " I have other services that are using the same exact login account and they work fine. Is there something simple I could be missing? Thanks

It's not one I've written myself but the spec for the delimited text file is set up properly and the file imports properly using the wizard. When I try to use the import functions of the app itself, the ImportError table tells "Field Truncation" for one of the fields. Any help would be appreciated.

    I have a table that contains some meta data in an XML field. For example <Meta> <From>[email protected]</From> <To> <Address>[email protected]</Address> <Address>[email protected]</Address> </To> <Subject>ESubject Goes Here</Subject> </Meta> I want to then be able to query this field to return the following results From To Subject [email protected] [email protected] Subject Goes Here [email protected] [email protected] Subject Goes Here I've written the following query SELECT MetaData.query('data(/Meta/From)') AS [From], MetaData.query('data(/Meta/To/Address)') AS [To], MetaData.query('data(/Meta/Subject)') AS [Subject] FROM Documents However this only returns one record for that XML field. It combines both the 2 addresses into one result. Is it possible for split these on to separate records? The result I'm getting is From To Subject [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] Subject Goes Here Thanks Gav

    I've been looking at the Nerd Dinner app, more specifically how it handles its unit tests. The following constructors for the RSVPController are confusing my slightly public RSVPController() : this(new DinnerRepository()) { } public RSVPController(IDinnerRepository repository) { dinnerRepository = repository; } From what I can tell the second one is used by the unit tests so it can use Fake repositories. What I cant work out is what the first constructor does. It doesn't seem to ever set the dinnerRepository variable, it seems to imply its inheriting from something but I really don't get it. Can anyone explain? Thanks

  • Why does SQLite say it can't read SQL from a file?

    Hi all. I have a bunch of SQL in a file, which creates the tables and so forth. The problem is that the .read command simply returns "can't open xxx" when I try to execute it. I've set the permissions to everybody read/write, but that didn't help. I can cat the file from the command line and see it fine. This is under Mac OS 10.6.3. Anybody have any idea here? Thanks!

Currently, I have to use the mouse to select search to initialize the geocoding function. How can I make the map return a placemark by hitting the enter button on my keyboard? I just want to make it as user-friendly as possible.   • Why is the operation address incremented by two?

    I am looking at a Javascript emulator of a NES to try and understand how it works. On this line: addr = this.load(opaddr+2); The opcode is incremented by two. However, the documentation (see appendix E) I'm reading says: Zero page addressing uses a single operand which serves as a pointer to an address in zero page ($0000-$00FF) where the data to be operated on can be found. By using zero page addressing, only one byte is needed for the operand, so the instruction is shorter and, therefore, faster to execute than with addressing modes which take two operands. An example of a zero page instruction is AND $12. So if the operand's argument is only one byte, shouldn't it appear directly after it, and be + 1 instead of + 2? Why +2? This is how I think it works, which may be incorrect. Suppose our memory looks like: ------------------------- | 0 | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | <- index ------------------------- | a | b | c | d | e | f | <- memory ------------------------- ^ \ PC and our PC is 0, pointing to a.   • Top Down RPG Movement w/ Correction?

    I would hope that we have all played Zelda: A Link to the Past, please correct me if I'm wrong, but I want to emulate that kind of 2D, top-down character movement with a touch of correction. It has been done in other games, but I feel this reference would be the easiest to relate to. More specifically the kind of movement and correction I'm talking about is: Floating movement not restricted to tile based movement like Pokemon and other games where one tap of the movement pad moves you one square in that cardinal direction. This floating movement should be able to achieve diagonal motion. If you're walking West and you come to a wall that is diagonal in a North East/South West fashion, you are corrected into a South West movement even if you continue holding left (West) on the controller. This should work for both diagonals correcting in both directions. If you're a few pixels off from walking squarely into a door or hallway, you are corrected into walking through the hall or down the hallway, i.e. bumping into the corner causes you to be pushed into the hall/door. I've hunted for efficient ways to achieve this and have had no luck. To be clear I'm talking about the human character's movement, not an NPC's movement. Are their resources available on this kind of movement? Equations or algorithms explained on a wiki or something? I'm using the XNA Framework, is there anything in it to help with this?
