    I'm reading a book that recommends clicking a check box that says "Place code in separate file" when adding a new Web Form to an existing ASP.NET project. The book is using Visual Studio 2005 and there is a check box for "Place code in separate file" when you open the "Add New Item" dialog. I am using Visual Studio 2008 and I do not see the "Place code in separate file" checkbox when I try to add a new item. Is there something I need to do to enable this? Was this functionality no longer possible/important in VS 2008?

  • Really impossible to have Gimp 2.8 on Ubuntu 11.10?

    For days, I have been trying to find a solution and repositories to install Gimp 2.8 on Ubuntu 11.10.   • Error when creating ASP.NET website in Visual Studio

    I'm trying to learn ASP.NET. I open Visual Studio (this happens in both 2008 and 2010) and creating a new ASP.NET website using .NET 3.5. When I attempt to run the website, a FireFox page opens up and tells me that it can't establish a connection to the server (localhost:####). There's no helpful error message, just "cannot connect." What could be causing this?

    Everytime I try to debug one of my apps I get the below error message. Anyone have any ideas? I tried running Visual Studio in safe mode but I get the same thing. I also tried to repair the install and completely reinstall it with no luck :(.     i am using a vintage computer for my home use and to be frank i am satisfied with it since it is what i can afford now -- i use Ubuntu derived peer Linux OS and have gimp 2.8 working good and meets my needs. but due to the vintage configuration that i have it takes a long time to load and work but i need it for my little works related with educational helps - in most of the times i don't need my tweaked up gimp with all the plug ins and extra brushes i need a faster gimp so i want to have gimp 2.6 or even 2.4 in my system along with the current one. have pinta and like softwares but to meet my needs i definitely need gimp my question is can i have two different versions of gimp at the same time which i can load from the menu itself please help me thanking you all for allowing me breath the fresh air of open source --

  • "Error generating Win32 resource" in Visual Studio, Windows 7 x64

    My co-developers and I recently upgraded machines to Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. Some of us are seeing a new error we used to never see when building solutions in Visual Studio (happens in both 2008 and 2010): Error generating Win32 resource: The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process. It always points to some temp file in our output folder, for example: MyProject\obj\Debug\CSC5123.tmp This happens about once every four or so builds. We then will try to run the same exact build again, and it will usually succeed. In some cases though, it will fail again on the same project, and in same cases, it will fail on a different project. There's really no rhyme or reason to it. But it's very frustrating, especially when it doesn't happen until the build has been running for 20 or so seconds. This also doesn't happen to all of our coworkers. It happens to about one out of four developers. For the one, it happens about one of four builds, and for the other three, it never happens. Oh, and did I mention we're all using machines built from the same image? :) Thanks in advance for any direction you can provide.
