• Why the cucumber features keeps running even though it fails?

  Its a rails 2.3.5 app. I'm using the rspec and cucumber for testing. When I run autospec, it runs correctly with the warning (Not running features.   I am using Xcode iPhone(Mobile) simulator to run Selenium iPhone WebDriver Automation scripts for mobile Websites. Is there anyway to capture Network-Traffic on iPhone simulator similar to Selenium RC Network capture or BrowserMob Proxy for Web Driver. Please let me know if you know way to capture Network traffic on iPhone simulator programmatically. I do see some tools like Wireshark or HTTPScoop to capture network traffic but I need in a pro grammatical way to automate. I need this scenario for pixel tracking. Thanks Sandeep

• Personal DNS server and fallback outside home

  I have my own DNS server at home to access local names, and that is working fine. Then I have my laptop, now obviously my laptop leaves the home now and then, therefore it accesses different nets outside my home, and my DNS server is not accessible there... So I figured that I would just add Google as secondary DNS... But actually, when I do that, then suddenly I can't access my local stuff (at home that is, obviously), like my laptop is getting a quicker response from Google's DNS or something, because it can't find anything on the addresses I use locally. If I then remove the secondary DNS, and keeps my own, then it works fine again... So do I somehow need to seperate what DNS's to use on what nets? I already use sepperate DNS settings when I connect using my 3G modem, but when I use hotspots it seems to use the same settings regardless (at least in the train), also can it differ wired connections?... Is there another solution?

• Disable Offline Files (mobsync.exe) on Windows 7 Home

  This morning I was watching the CPU graph of a Windows 7 Home laptop and noticed that every few seconds, the CPU would spike several percent. I watched the processes and determined that it was mobsync.exe (Offline Files) that was the culprit. I tried the usual steps that Googling turns up, and clicking the Manage Offline Files link to bring up the Offline Files dialog to click Disable Synch does not work because the dialog will not display. This makes sense since everything I have read indicates that Offline Files is not even included/supported in the Home version, so I am at a loss as to why it is running at all, let alone why it is sucking up CPU cycles. (My best guess is that it was started when they pressed Win+X to access the Mobility Center.) Of course I can just kill mobsync, but it could always just come back. How/why would mobsync be running on a Home version and how can it be disabled (of course the Group Policy editor is not available on a Home version).

• How come I can't ping my home computer?

  I'm trying to set up a vpn into my home computer in order to access files from wherever. I have the home computer set up with a no-ip dynamic dns program so I can always connect, and have also tried using the actual ip address. However, when I try to connect or even ping from anywhere outside of my house I can't get through. I've tried putting that particular computer in the dmz, turned off the computers firewall and anti-virus, and I still don't get anything. I have comcast as my home internet provider. I have also tried from two different locations. Are there any other solutions I can try or is comcast the issue? I used to be able to do this when I ran a small web server at home for fun but now nothing works. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

• iTunes home sharing problem

  I have two iMacs running Snow Leopard. I have iTunes home sharing setup on the two of them using the same iTunes account credentials. Up until last night all worked fine... I could download an app on one iMac, then go to the other iMac and drag that app from the home sharing into that iMac's applications. Then all of a sudden it stopped working. I can see and browse the home sharing, however, when I go to drag an app or song from the share to the local library it gives me an error stating that I am unable to do so... when I click OK to this message I lose visibility to the home share. I have checked and this iMac is authorized with my iTunes account and I have even deauthorized and reauthorized but still the same result. Does anyone have any suggestions?

  Server 2003 SP2 (not R2) with 2 new Win 7 Pro workstations. Home Drive is set in AD (not GP) to map to \\server\users\username. Home Drive map fails, other network drives map correctly. No error logged on server or PC, Win 7 shows "Could not reconnect all network drives." There is no Y: (Home Drive) listed, either in the GUI or via Net Use. Manual map via batch file in startup group with the same path works correctly? Home Drive map works correctly on XP workstations.

• Router reporting failed admin login attempts from home server

  I recently noticed in the logs of my home router that it relatively regularly lists the following entry: [admin login failure] from source 192.168.0.160, Monday, June 20,2011 18:13:25 192.168.0.160 is the internal address of my home server, running Windows Home Server 2011. Is there anyway I can find out what specifically is trying to login to the router? Or is there some explanation for this behaviour? (not sure if this belongs here or on superuser...)

• Setting a subdomain to access home machine with windows remote desktop

  I'm trying to remotely connect to home machine through Windows Remote Desktop (amongst other things, but this is currently my primary focus). I can do this fine using my home WAN's static IP (thank god for cable!) with port-forwarding, but I would like to access it from a subdomain of my web-site (e.g. home.mydomain.co.uk). In the cPanel for my hosting account, I've gone into DNS zones and altered the A-record to point to my WAN's IP, which I thought should do the job, but I still cannot connect. When I ping the subdomain, I get my web-host's IP, which I guess is to be expected as I believe the DNS of the host domain is used first, then my server handles the redirection of traffic to the IP in the A-record. Is this the correct idea? Do A-record changes suffer from the same propagation delays as DNS record changes, as I suppose that could explain it? • (iOS) UI Automation AlertPrompt button/textField accessiblity

  I'm having a bit of trouble with UI Automation (the built in to iOS tool) when it comes to alertView. First off, I'm not sure where I can set the accessibilityLabel and such for the buttons that are on the alertView. Secondly, although I am not getting an error, I can't get my textField to actually set the value of the textField to something. • SWT Filedialog Open into home folder

  I want to open a FileDialog window into the user home folder (i.e. /home/user or /Users/unsername) I read the user home folder, using System.getProperty: String homefolder = System.getProperty(user.home); And the variable containts the correct home folder. But when i set the filterpath in FileDialog, it opens (in linux) only the /home level not entering into the user home dir. • .NET Access automation with Access 2007 Runtime

  I'm having trouble deploying .NET application which uses Microsoft Access automation. I've installed the Access 2007 Runtime and Primary Interop Assemblies (PIAs) on the target machine: Access 2007 Runtime Office 2007 PIAs However, when I try to create the ApplicationClass: Application access = new ApplicationClass(); I get the following exception: Unhandled Exception: System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80080005): Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {73A4C9C1-D68D-11D0-98BF-00A0C90DC8D9} failed due to the following error: 80080005. I've googled the error code and tried tweaking the security settings in dcomcnfg, to no avail. Any ideas? I don't want to install the full version of Access due to the cost, and the runtime should at least be able to create an instance of the application, surely?

  Hi, I am trying to test a WPF application using the UI-Automation framework that MSFT provides. There were a few powershell scripts written that invoked the cmdlets created to manipulate the visual controls of the application. There is a DropDown within my application that has an entry 'DropDownEntry'. In my cmdlet, I am trying to do something as follows: AutomationElement getItem = DropDown.FindFirst(TreeScope.Descendants, new AndCondition( new PropertyCondition(AutomationElement.ControlTypeProperty,ControlType.ListItem), new PropertyCondition(AutomationElement.NameProperty, "DropDownEntry",PropertyConditionFlags.IgnoreCase))); The above given snippet returns 'null' upon execution which essentially means that the above given logic was unable to find my dropdown entry. Can somebody tell me why this might be happening? I checked the name of my control and the values. Everything seems to be in order. I am not sure why this would be happening.   Some time ago I posted about a question about reading Excel files as a server process, to get around the tighter restrictions Microsoft have been applying on Office Automation. I now need to extend this, by finding methods/libraries to read other sorts of Office files in an automated way on a server. The applications I'm interested in are Word, Powerpoint, Project and to a lesser extent Word and Visio. I need to be able to support 97-2003 office files, and the newer open xml formats (e.g. xlsx, docx) at a very least. With regards to Word integration, I also need to be able to handle writing/reading RTF text. If anyone has any suggestions I'd be pleased to hear them. Thanks

• 2008 Datacenter Word Automation issue

  We have an application that uses word automation. It works fine under Windows XP, but does not work on our Windows Server 2008 64-bit virtual machine running on VMware ESX unless it is running as the domain administrator. Under any other account (including a local admin), Word starts, uses a lot of CPU for 40 seconds when opening a document, and then just hangs. Our application does not access anything not on the local machine, and this machine is not being used for anything else (not a domain controller, etc). I know others have posted similar issues, with the solution of creating a Desktop folder somewhere under the windows directory. We did this, and it did not solve the problem (Word did not get as far as it did before we did this though). Please don't turn this into a thread about why I am trying to do this, whether I should do this, or whether I need to. For argument sake, I don't need to do this, but understanding what privilege a local admin does not have that is needed to do this is a legitimate concern.
