• itunes not showing latest episodes in podcast

  iTunes is stuck showing old episodes that are no longer in this feed (2010-12-16 to 2010-12-22). http://www.catholic.com/audio/podcast/podcaster.php The actual feed looks fine. I've tried unsubscribing, deleting, adding the feed via Advanced-subscribe to podcast, through the store (which also shows the latest episodes), etc. But for some reason it seems itunes has a cached version of the feed which it refuses to update. Any ideas?

  Let's say I managed to get the dictionary opened for iTunes in the Applescript editor: How would I access the "search" commands using Python with pyobjc? I know I get can hold of the iTunes application using: iTunes = SBApplication.applicationWithBundleIdentifier_("com.apple.iTunes") but after I do a dir on it, I don't see the search command in the returned dictionary. Help please!

• iTunes Title Bar is Equal to the Location of the Library file?

  I have never been able to get a clear answer on why the latest edition of iTunes does this. I have my entire iTunes library located in C:\itunes\ and the library data files inside C:\itunes\!library_info for backup purposes. However when version 9 of iTunes came out it went from having iTunes as the title, to !library_info. Anyway to get around this without moving my data files away? Annoying "feature" if that is what it is. Again Apple support and forums were of no help to me. Anyone have insight on this?   Hi, I am trying to parse an itunes affiliate xml link purely for practise, using NSXMLParser but the link will not parse. The itunes affiliate xml link is this: http://itunes.apple.com/au/rss/topsongs/limit=50/genre=20/xml?partnerId=2003&TD_PARAM=http%3A%2F%2Fclkuk.tradedoubler.com%2Fclick%3Fp%3D23708%26a%3D1904172%26url%3D. it works perfectly in safari on my mac. The normal itunes link I tried parsing: http://itunes.apple.com/%@/rss/%@/limit=50/genre=20/xml works perfectly with the NSXMLParser. Can anyone tell me why this is happening? Thanks in advanced.   On two computers with Windows 7 at work and at home with the same version of iTunes (10.1.0.56) at work I can drag-and-drop files into iPod, and I can not at home. At home only adding them first through a dialog box to a Library and only after that drag-and-dropping into iPod (or iPad) works. Initially I thought the problem is in iTunes, but looks like it's the same version, so most likely it's the Windows 7 config parameters. It's 64-bit W7, and I have admin privileges in both cases. The only difference I could think of is it's an enterprise version at work and ultimate at home. What should I change at home to enable that drag-and-drop-ing files into the application?

  if you add an mp3 file with read only attributes to iTunes, iTunes will not allow you to change the file's ID3 tags or delete the mp3 file itself later. Removing the read-only attribute after you add it doesn't help either! And if you go to the source file and delete it manually, the file shows up as "missing file" with a ! sign prefixed to it in the program, which you Still can't delete. Any ways to get around this? I just want to change the ID3 tags.

• Copying Metadata Between Files in iTunes

  A while back, I converted some AVI files to .m4v files that would be playable on my iPhone. When I play these files on my PC using iTunes the quality is terrible because the resolution is so low. My solution is to convert the AVI's using Handbrake using the "Universal" preset; it works like a charm and I can now watch them both on my PC and iPhone. The Problem I want to import the newly converted files into my iTunes library and be able to copy the metadata (show, season (these are TV episodes) Description, etc) without having to manually copy and paste values from one file to another. Is it possible to just say "copy this file's metadata to this file"?

• Sharing iTunes Library Between Mac & PC Via A NAS

  Hi Everyone, I'd be really grateful if anyone can help me with this, I spent literally days trawling the net before I came across this site, which seems to have very knowledgable people! So, the problem is: For years I've had a couple of PCs and a NAS drive. I've been storing all my music on the NAS drive and then accessing the library on whichever PC I wanted to by pointing both PCs to the NAS drive iTunes files. The good thing is I can see all my playlists and song ratings etc. Now, I've just bought a Macbook Pro as well. And I want to be able to access the same music, song ratings etc on this machine. I've tried simply holding down option and navigating to the .itl files that my Windows machine created, but that doesn't work. Is there some way to use the same iTunes Library (apart from home sharing) on both machines? Thank you so much for reading this.

  Whenever I purchase music on my phone and then sync with iTunes later, a duplicate "Purchased on iPhone" playlist will be created. The first one will have everything i've purchased in the past, and the duplicate playlist will have the one or two songs that I just purchased. In the sync options I checked/unchecked the box to have the playlist sync and not sync with my phone. No matter which option I choose I'll always have duplicate playlists when I sync with iTunes. How can I fix this? I don't want a duplicate playlist to be created every time I sync. If i purchase a song on my phone I want it to be added to the existing "Purchased on iPhone playlist".

  I have Snow Leopard on an early model MacBook Pro. The CD Drive has been giving me fits the last few months -- I stick a blank CD in it, and it claims it's bad and spits it out. I can go through a pile of brand-new CD's and it will choose 1 out of 7 that it wants to use, even though all the CD's come from the same package. The rejected CD's work fine on a Linux machine I have. I need to burn an audio CD from iTunes and my thought was: Burn playlist to audio CD Image file (Red Book image?) Copy ISO file to Linux Machine Use Linux machine to burn audio image to a CD But looking around, it doesn't seem that iTunes on OSX will support this. I was wondering if anyone else has accomplished this.

• Cannot delete movie on iTunes for iPhone 4?

  I was on vacation and took some videos, and now the iPhone 4 memory is near full. So I tried to delete other experimental movies I made using Handbrake, so that I can take more video or photos, but if I plug the iPhone 4 into my Notebook computer, I can seem to delete it on iTunes? Maybe because the computer I sync with the iPhone 4 is at home (a desktop), but not with me on vacation. I can't delete it on iTunes, can't delete it on iPhone itself. I am stuck during the vacation, or is there a way to handle it?

  I update my Podcast every week. But iTunes is not updating my last episode for more than a week. Strangely, those who subscribe my podcast can see the updated episode. • filtering itunes library items by file location

  The Problem I've got way more than 1000 duplicated items in my iTunes Library pointing to a non-existant place (the "where" under "get info" window), along with other duplicated items and other MIAs (Missing In Action). Is there any simple way to just delete all of them and only them? By that I mean some MIAs are pointing to /Volumes while some are pointing to .../music/Music/... or just .../music/.... I want to delete all pointing to /Volumes as to later I'll recover the rest. Check the image below. Some Background I tried searching for a specific key word on the path and creating smart play list, but with no result. Being able to just sort all library by path would be a perfect solution! I believe old iTunes could do that. PowerTunes can do it (sort by path) but I can't do anything with its list. Yes, all of the /Volumes look like that.

• Preserving smart playlist order on iPhone

  I have a smart playlist configured to play my favorite podcasts during my commute. It's a list of audio-only, unheard podcasts: In iTunes, I've ordered the playlist by Release Date -- i.e. I want to listen to the oldest podcast episodes first. The order is correct in iTunes but when I sync to my iPhone the order is jumbled. Currently, I have five episodes in this playlist -- ordered by release date they're A,B,C,D,E. On my iPhone, they're ordered B,D,C,E,A. There's no sort order that's obvious to me -- not sorted by name of episode, name of podcast, length of episode, date added, etc. Any solutions to ordering smart playlists on the iPhone? Update: This is likely an iTunes 9 bug. There's lots of discussion about this over on apple.com

• iTunes: Burn an MP3 CD when I only have AAC files?

  Is there a way to burn an MP3 CD when iTunes only contains (unprotected) AAC files purchased from the iTunes store? There isn't an option directly in iTunes to convert AAC - MP3 like there is for MP3 - AAC, and having to convert the AAC files to MP3 and use an extrnal tool to burn the disk would be time-consuming. Are there any plugins for iTunes that can accomplish this? Or programs which can read an iTunes playlist, convert the tracks to MP3 "on the fly" while burning the CD?
