  • Laptop Asus P50IJ with Intel 4500M GMA output going to a Dell 1907FP external monitor will not allow

    Hello - I just purchased an Asus P50IJ-X2 laptop which has a Intel GMA 4500M video card running Windows7. At work I output this laptop to a Dell 1907FP LCD which has a maximum resolution of 1280x1024. Not matter what I do the Windows will not allow the laptop to set a resolution higher than 1024x768 to this LCD monitor. Ive even gone to the extent of downloading PowerStrip (I'd post a link but Im new and can only enter 1 url, if you google for powerstrip its the first option) to create a custom driver for my monitor thinking Windows was having a hard time seeing the available resolutions it would accept. However, powerstrip read the registery and properly sees the monitor and what its capable of so Im now at a complete loss as to why Windows7 will not allow me to set/use a 1280x1024 resolution for this external monitor (as my last laptop did running Vista). The Intel documentation (http://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/quick-reference-guide-to-intel-integrated-graphics/) indicates that the GMA 4500M should be able to run up to a 2560x1600 max res. The Dell 1907FP specification states it can run up to a 1280x1024 res. But no matter what the computer will not allow me to set higher than a 1024x768. I'm completely baffled but I would really like to be able to output this laptop to a reasonable resolution, 1024x768 makes me feel like I'm using my mom's computer. Any help would be greatly appreciated!     Hi all, I was wondering how to programmatically fire a change event with YUI3 -- I added a change listener to one select box node: Y.get('#mynode').on('change', function(e) { Alert(“changed me”); }); and somewhere else in the script want to fire that event. It works, of course, when a user changes the select box value in the browser. But I've tried many ways to fire it programmatically, none of which have worked.   • connect 2.1 stereo speakers to LG LCD-TV (5500 series)

    I bought a pair of speakers for my dad's TV, LG 32LE5500. When I installed them, it just sounded worse than the integrated ones and that's where I realized the subwoofer didn't work at all and both speakers make lower volume than the internal ones. The audio output jack says "H/P" (standing for headphones, and a matching symbol) before buying I checked this output with my phone's headphones and it worked so I figured it would work with a set of speakers since it's a standard audio output. I guess it's literally for headphones and not any other kind of sound players. There is only one other audio output and it is the optical-digital, so I can't use that. Not at least with these speakers.. am I screwed? or is there any workaround?

But now when I view the order online, it lists this part as "320-8335 Premium FHD WLED Display, Obsidian Black, 2.0 MP Webcam". When called Dell, the rep says this part is RGBLED screen and the "premium" is for RGBLED. I want to make sure they are shipping me the RGBLED screen and not the WLED. Is there any way to verify this after I receive (either from Device Manager or BIOS or somewhere in system settings)? Also, is there any published specifications / criteria that we can run (some third party software) on this monitor which can tell if this is WLED or RGBLED?

  • Monitor turns off about 1 second after turning it on

    Hi all! I have a hardware issue with some of the LCD monitors we have in our office. My problems is not related to video cards or anything else with the computer itself. I have 2 Dell 17" LCD screens that goes off (blank) after 1 or 2 seconds. The light remains green so it's not idling or sleeping. Just this morning, I had to replace one that goes off on 2 workstations and also on my laptop. Nothing to do with it. I tried the VGA and DVI connection w/out luck. I strongly think that this is something with a capacitor or something inside the screen but I can't figure out what it is... Is anybody heard of that kind of issue before? Regards, David.

  • Options not available anymore in my Samsung 932bw lcd

    I think a friend messed up something in my monitor. I left him playing a game and when i came back, i noticed that the brightness was very high. I tried to change it but i couldn't, brithness, contrast, color warm and a few other options are marked as "not available" (he probably adjusted the brightness and changed something else too, that it's causing this thing). I updated the monitor driver, the vcard driver, plugged the monitor in other pc (I'm connected through dvi, but in the other pc i plugged through rgb) but nothing fixed it. Is there someway to force reset all the options or something like that to fix this? (I'm running Win7 RC1 but I don't think that it has something to do with it, it was working perfectly until he messed it up, and the other pc where I plugged it, runs winxp and the problem occurs too. And it doens't look like a the monitor is broken, it works like it always did, just these options are marked "not available" now...)

  • Green flickering pixels that move with black images

    Strange question... Occasionally, on my LCD screen, pixels that should be black flicker rapidly and constantly between black and green, about 4 flickers a second. The crazy part is, unlike dead/stuck pixels, they are relative to content on the screen and move with it. For example, I might be looking at a web page with a picture that has lots of black. There might be a couple of green flashing pixels in that black that shouldn't be there. I scroll the page, and the green flickering pixels move with the image. It seems that everyphysical pixel is fine, but somehow something interprets part of the image in a way that causes flickering green... It's not just in a web browser. My first thought was to blame a trolling blogger cunningly uploading an animated gif that simulates a failing pixel... but it happens in a wide range of applications. It seems to occur randomly, other than that it seems to only occur in areas of pure black, and it's always pure 100% green. It happens rarely enough that it's not a big deal, but it's such a strange problem it bugs me. I can't find any info on anything like this. I'm not even sure if it's hardware or software. Any ideas? (windows 7 laptop connected to LCD by DVI to HDMI cable)

    Hi, I'm currently creating an alarm. I use NSTimer to schedule my alarms. My problem is when the device was put into locked mode my NSTimer doesn't fire. I think that the NSTimer will not fire because my app goes to suspended state when it is lock. Can you help me find a solution to my problem? I've found some topics about UIBackgroundModes, but I don't know how it will help me. Thanks.. The problem in UILocalNotification is when the device was in silent, the sound will not be hear. My implementation was I'm using NSTimer to fire an alarm when the app is in foreground or device is locked but app currently running. When the applicationDidEnterBackground: is called I schedule the UILocalNotification as the alarm.

    I have recently bought myself a new monitor, now I'd had my previous screen well over 5 years now so I'm looking at this one thinking the picture doesn't quite look right (not bad, just different). Rather than just wait until I'm used to the new picture I'd rather get it fine tuned, then get used to it - so I can reap the maximum benefit. So, can you please suggest reliable ways of configuring an LCD monitor's brightness/contrast/colour/etc to provide the optimum possibly quality image?

  • My monitor made a noise and is now dimmer - can I repair this myself?

    I have a Samsung SyncMaster T190 LCD monitor which I've had for about 5 years. It hissed slightly then went dim (readable but the top half of the screen is less bright). I'm pretty sure that after 5 years of service it's just got to the point where something's burned out, so my question is can I repair this myself, or should I just get a new monitor. I'm currently a student so self repair would be a better option if cost effective.
