  • Control HelpButton, HelpRequested, HelpButtonClicked - Instant help for windows Dialog Form components

    Instant help for windows dialog components is a great feature and very much known since windows 98. but I saw many many people are not aware it and query on Google to get help, but “help button” for dialogs helps you or your customers to get the help instantly. Every dialog window has help icon if that dialog was coded to enable it. it really helps to know the functionality of the components quickly. For example I was trying to pint a document from acrobat reader and opened printer properties to print the content front and back of the paper. If you observe there is a help button before close button. To get help on options of “Print on Both Sides” you would need to click on help button first and then click on the area on which you want to see the help. above picture shows help text for the options of “Print on Both Sides”. If you would like to get the help using keyboard you can use F1 key. Help button can be displayed only if minimize button and maximize button both are not shown unless you want go with custom buttons. below is the way if you want to get Help button for windows forms.   In this sample demo I want to have a checkbox and need to show help when I click on F1 on check box. So I created a form which country check box and help label as show in adjacent picture. Below is the code for your code bind file. using System; using System.Windows.Forms; namespace WindowsFormsApplication1 {     public partial classForm1: Form    {         publicForm1()         {             InitializeComponent();         }         private void Form1_Load(objectsender, EventArgs e)         {             this.Text = "Help Button Demo Form";             lblHelp.Text = "Press F1 on any component to get Instant Help";             this.HelpButton = true;             this.MaximizeBox = false;             this.MinimizeBox = false;             chkCountry.Tag = "Check or Uncheck Coutry Check Box";             chkCountry.HelpRequested += newHelpEventHandler(chkCountry_HelpRequested);             chkCountry.MouseLeave += newEventHandler(chkCountry_MouseLeave);         }         void chkCountry_HelpRequested(objectsender, HelpEventArgs hlpevent)         {             ControlrequestingControl = (Control)sender;             lblHelp.Text = (string)requestingControl.Tag;             hlpevent.Handled = true;         }         void chkCountry_MouseLeave(objectsender, EventArgs e)         {             lblHelp.Text = "Press F1 on any component to get Instant Help";         }     } } In above code  “HelpRequested” is an event will be fired when you click on F1 on Country checkbox. I stored the help information in the checkbox property called “Tag”. You might also maintain a property file to keep help text for each component differently. If you click on F1 when focus is on main form instead on individual component then generally separate help window opens. This can be done using the event “Form.HelpRequested” to open help windows as in below code. this.HelpRequested += newHelpEventHandler(Form1_HelpRequested); voidForm1_HelpRequested(objectsender, HelpEventArgs hlpevent) {     frmHelp.Show(); } span.fullpost {display:none;}

  • Mootools Accordion nonfunctional in Opera

    - by nona
    While working as expected in all other browsers, opera refuses to tween the height of content. oddly enough, as i sat annoyed rapidly clicking it over and over again, if it's closed, and you select some text, and keep clicking the same spot long enough, sometimes it pops open. lol. seriously. ahh, it seems to sometimes open the first time clicked after the page is loaded. wth? the javascript: window.addEvent('domready', function(){ var content_height = [];i=0; $$( '.bio_accordion' ).each(function(item){ i++; content_height.push(item.getElement('.moreInfo').offsetHeight); var thisSlider = new Fx.Slide( item.getElement( '.moreInfo' ), { mode: 'horizontal' } ); thisSlider.hide(); item.getElement('.moreInfo').set('tween').tween('height', '0px'); var morph = new Fx.Morph(item.getElement( '.divToggle' )); var selected = 0; item.getElement( '.divToggle' ).addEvents({ 'mouseenter': function(){ if(!selected) this.morph('.div_highlight'); }, 'mouseleave': function(){ if(!selected) { this.morph('.divToggle'); } }, 'click': function(){ if (!selected){ if (this.getElement('.symbol').innerHTML == '+') this.getElement('.symbol').innerHTML = '-'; else this.getElement('.symbol').innerHTML = '+'; item.getElement('.moreInfo').set('tween', { duration: 1500, transition: Fx.Transitions.Bounce.easeOut }).tween('height', content_height[i]); selected = 1; thisSlider.slideIn(); } else{ if (this.getElement('.symbol').innerHTML == '+') this.getElement('.symbol').innerHTML = '-'; else this.getElement('.symbol').innerHTML = '+'; thisSlider.slideOut(); item.getElement('.moreInfo').set('tween', { duration: 1000, transition: Fx.Transitions.Bounce.easeOut }).tween('height', '0px'); selected = 0; } } }); } ); }); the html: <div class="bio_accordion"> <div class="divToggle">test<span class="symbol">-</span></div> <div class="moreInfo" style="margin-left:10px;"> aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa asdfasdfasdfasdfasdfasdfasdfasdfasdfasdfasdf aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa asdfasdfasdfasdfasdfasdfasdfasdfasdfasdfasdf aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa asdfasdfasdfasdfasdfasdfasdfasdfasdfasdfasdf </div> </div> the css: .bio_accordion { padding:0px; margin:0px; } .divToggle { cursor: pointer; color: #ffffff; background-color:#1089b5; padding: 8px; } .div_highlight { padding-left:30px; padding-right:30px; background-color:#096687; } .moreInfo { padding: 2px; padding-top:15px; padding-bottom:15px; overflow: hidden; } .symbol { float:right; }

  • jQuery animate slidding background image using mouse position wont stop... just keeps going

    - by simian
    I have a neat little jQuery script I am working on. Goal: parent div with overflow hidden holds a larger div with image. When I move the mouse to the left or right of the parent div, the div with image changes margin-left to move left or right. Problem is... if I move the mouse out of the parent div (left or right), the image keeps going. I need the image to stop when the mouse is not on the inside left or right edge of the parent div. Any ideas? <!DOCTYPE html> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-latest.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> //<![CDATA[ jQuery.noConflict (); jQuery(document).ready(function(){ jQuery('#container').mousemove(function(e){ var parentWidth = jQuery('#container').width(); var parentWidthLeft = Math.round(.1 * jQuery('#container').width()); var parentWidthRight = Math.round(jQuery('#container').width() - parentWidthLeft); var parentHeight = jQuery('#container').height(); var parentOffset = jQuery('#container').offset(); var X = Math.round(e.pageX - parentOffset.left); var Y = Math.round(e.pageY - parentOffset.top); if (X<parentWidthLeft) { jQuery('#image').animate({'left': '-' + parentWidth }, 5000); } if (X>parentWidthRight) { jQuery('#image').animate({'left': parentWidth }, 5000); } if (X<=parentWidthRight && X>=parentWidthLeft) { jQuery('#image').stop(); } if (X<1) { jQuery('#image').stop(); } }); jQuery('#container').mouseleave(function(){ jQuery('#image').stop(); }); }); // ]]> </script> </head> <body> <div id="container" style="width: 500px; height: 500px; overflow: hidden; border: 10px solid #000; position: relative; margin: auto auto;"> <div id="image" style="position: absolute; left: 0; top: 0;"><img src="http://dump4free.com/imgdump/1/Carmen-Electra_1wallpaper1024x768.jpg" alt="" /></div> </div> </body> </html>

  • Silverlight 3.0 Custom Cursor in Chart

    - by Wonko the Sane
    Hello All, I'm probably overlooking something that will be obvious when I see the solution, but for now... I am attempting to use a custom cursor inside the chart area of a Toolkit chart. I have created a ControlTemplate for the chart, and a grid to contain the cursors. I show/hide the cursors, and attempt to move the containing Grid, using various Mouse events. The cursor is being displayed at the correct times, but I cannot get it to move to the correct position. Here is the ControlTemplate (the funky colors are just attempts to confirm what the different pieces of the template pertain to): <dataVisTK:Title Content="{TemplateBinding Title}" Style="{TemplateBinding TitleStyle}"/> <Grid Grid.Row="1"> <!-- Remove the Legend --> <!--<dataVisTK:Legend x:Name="Legend" Title="{TemplateBinding LegendTitle}" Style="{TemplateBinding LegendStyle}" Grid.Column="1"/>--> <chartingPrimitivesTK:EdgePanel x:Name="ChartArea" Background="#EDAEAE" Style="{TemplateBinding ChartAreaStyle}" Grid.Column="0"> <Grid Canvas.ZIndex="-1" Background="#2008AE" Style="{TemplateBinding PlotAreaStyle}"> </Grid> <Border Canvas.ZIndex="1" BorderBrush="#FF250010" BorderThickness="3" /> <Grid x:Name="gridHandCursors" Canvas.ZIndex="5" Width="32" Height="32" Visibility="Collapsed"> <Image x:Name="cursorGrab" Width="32" Source="Resources/grab.png" /> <Image x:Name="cursorGrabbing" Width="32" Source="Resources/grabbing.png" Visibility="Collapsed"/> </Grid> </chartingPrimitivesTK:EdgePanel> </Grid> </Grid> </Border> and here are the mouse events (in particular, the MouseMove): void TimelineChart_Loaded(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { chartTimeline.UpdateLayout(); List<FrameworkElement> chartChildren = GetLogicalChildrenBreadthFirst(chartTimeline).ToList(); mChartArea = chartChildren.Where(element => element.Name.Equals("ChartArea")).FirstOrDefault() as Panel; if (mChartArea != null) { grabCursor = chartChildren.Where(element => element.Name.Equals("cursorGrab")).FirstOrDefault() as Image; grabbingCursor = chartChildren.Where(element => element.Name.Equals("cursorGrabbing")).FirstOrDefault() as Image; mGridHandCursors = chartChildren.Where(element => element.Name.Equals("gridHandCursors")).FirstOrDefault() as Grid; mChartArea.Cursor = Cursors.None; mChartArea.MouseMove += new MouseEventHandler(mChartArea_MouseMove); mChartArea.MouseLeftButtonDown += new MouseButtonEventHandler(mChartArea_MouseLeftButtonDown); mChartArea.MouseLeftButtonUp += new MouseButtonEventHandler(mChartArea_MouseLeftButtonUp); if (mGridHandCursors != null) { mChartArea.MouseEnter += (s, e2) => mGridHandCursors.Visibility = Visibility.Visible; mChartArea.MouseLeave += (s, e2) => mGridHandCursors.Visibility = Visibility.Collapsed; } } } void mChartArea_MouseLeftButtonUp(object sender, MouseButtonEventArgs e) { if (grabCursor != null) grabCursor.Visibility = Visibility.Visible; if (grabbingCursor != null) grabbingCursor.Visibility = Visibility.Collapsed; } void mChartArea_MouseLeftButtonDown(object sender, MouseButtonEventArgs e) { if (grabCursor != null) grabCursor.Visibility = Visibility.Collapsed; if (grabbingCursor != null) grabbingCursor.Visibility = Visibility.Visible; } void mChartArea_MouseMove(object sender, MouseEventArgs e) { if (mGridHandCursors != null) { Point pt = e.GetPosition(null); mGridHandCursors.SetValue(Canvas.LeftProperty, pt.X); mGridHandCursors.SetValue(Canvas.TopProperty, pt.Y); } } Any help past this roadblock would be greatly appreciated!   • How to make jQuery animate upwards

    - by ivannovak
    Hey there, I've got some jquery running fairly well, howeever when I hover over the element in question, the bottom expands downward which is not unexpected but is not the desired effect. I'd like the bottom of the element to remain stationary with the top of the element expanding upwards. If you'd like to see what I currently have, you may navigate to http://demo.ivannovak.com/mobia/ Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here is my code: HTML <div class="button"> <h3>Product Quality</h3> <div>Duis tristique ultricies velit sit amet adipiscing.</div> <img src="<?php bloginfo('template_url'); ?>/assets/img/INgravatar_subernova.png" alt="placeholderImage" height="70" /> <p><a href="#">Learn More &gt;</a></p> <div class="bottom"></div> </div> CSS div#buttons {} div#buttons .button { background: url(assets/img/bg_blue_top.jpg) #206094 no-repeat top left; padding: 5px 10px 0; width: 209px; float: left; margin-right: 5px; position: relative; height: 50px; } div#buttons .button h3 { font-weight: normal; color: #fff; text-transform: uppercase; } div#buttons .button:hover div, div#buttons .button:hover img { /* display: block; */ } div#buttons .button div { width: 120px; padding-right: 20px; float: left; color: #bbb; display: none; } div#buttons .button img { float: right; display: none; } div#buttons .button p { position: absolute; bottom: 10px; left: 10px; z-index: 9; font-weight: bold; text-transform: uppercase; } div#buttons .button p a { color: #7bc143; text-decoration: none; } div#buttons .button p a:hover { text-decoration: underline; } div#buttons .button .bottom { background: url(assets/img/bg_blue_bottom.jpg) no-repeat bottom left; height:26px; position: absolute; display: block; width: 229px; right: 0px; padding:0; bottom: 0; } jQuery $(document).ready(function() { $('.button').mouseenter(function() { $(this).closest('div').animate({ height: "150px", }, 400, "swing"); }); $('.button').mouseleave(function() { $(this).closest('div').animate({ height: "50px", }, 400, "swing"); }); });

  • php script gets two ajax requests, only returns one?

    - by Dan.StackOverflow
    I'll start from the beginning. I'm building a wordpress plugin that does double duty, in that it can be inserted in to a post via a shortcode, or added as a sidebar widget. All it does is output some js to make jquery.post requests to a local php file. The local php file makes a request to a webservice for some data. (I had to do it this way instead of directly querying the web service with jquery.ajax because the url contains a license key that would be public if put in the js). Anyway, When I am viewing a page in the wordpress blog that has both the sidebar widget and the plugin output via shortcode only one of the requests work. I mean it works in that it gets a response back from the php script. Once the page is loaded they both work normally when manually told to. Webpage view - send 2 post requests to my php script - both elements should be filed in, but only one is. My php script is just: <?php if(isset($_POST["zip"])) { // build a curl object, execute the request, // and basically just echo what the curl request returns. } ?> Pretty basic. here is some js some people wanted to see: function widget_getActivities( zip ){ jQuery("#widget_active_list").text(""); jQuery.post("http://localhost/wordpress/wp-content/ActiveAjax.php", { zip: zip}, function(text) { jQuery(text).find("asset").each(function(j, aval){ var html = ""; html += "<a href='" + jQuery(aval).find("trackback").text() + "' target='new'> " + jQuery(aval).find("assetName").text() + "</a><b> at </b>"; jQuery("location", aval).each(function(i, val){ html += jQuery("locationName", val).text() + " <b> on </b>"; }); jQuery("date", aval).each(function(){ html += jQuery("startDate", aval).text(); <!--jQuery("#widget_active_list").append("<div id='ActivityEntry'>" + html + " </div>");--> jQuery("#widget_active_list") .append(jQuery("<div>") .addClass("widget_ActivityEntry") .html(html) .bind("mouseenter", function(){ jQuery(this).animate({ fontSize: "20px", lineHeight: "1.2em" }, 50); }) .bind("mouseleave", function(){ jQuery(this).animate({ fontSize: "10px", lineHeight: "1.2em" }, 50); }) ); }); }); }); } Now imagine there is another function identical to this one except everything that is prepended with 'widget_' isn't prepended. These two functions get called separately via: jQuery(document).ready(function(){ w_zip = jQuery("#widget_zip").val(); widget_getActivities( w_zip ); jQuery("#widget_updateZipLink").click(function() { //start function when any update link is clicked widget_c_zip = jQuery("#widget_zip").val(); if (undefined == widget_c_zip || widget_c_zip == "" || widget_c_zip.length != 5) jQuery("#widget_zipError").text("Bad zip code"); else widget_getActivities( widget_c_zip ); }); }) I can see in my apache logs that both requests are being made. I'm guessing it is some sort of race condition but that doesn't make ANY sense. I'm new to all this, any ideas? EDIT: I've come up with a sub-optimal solution. I have my widget detect if the plugin is also being used on the page, and if so it waits for 3 seconds before performing the request. But I have a feeling this same thing is going to happen if multiple clients perform a page request at the same time that triggers one of the requests to my php script, because I believe the problem is in the php script, which is scary.

  • How can I get Firefox to update background-color on a:hover *before* a javascript routine is run?

    - by Rob
    I'm having a Firefox-specific issue with a script I wrote to create 3d layouts. The correct behavior is that the script pulls the background-color from an element and then uses that color to draw on the canvas. When a user mouses over a link and the background-color changes to the :hover rule, the color being drawn changes on the canvas changes as well. When the user mouses out, the color should revert back to non-hover color. This works as expected in Webkit browsers and Opera, but it seems like Firefox doesn't update the background-color in CSS immediately after a mouseout event occurs, so the current background-color doesn't get drawn if a mouseout occurs and it isn't followed up by another event that calls the draw() routine. It works just fine in Opera, Chrome, and Safari. How can I get Firefox to cooperate? I'm including the code that I believe is most relevant to my problem. Any advice on how I fix this problem and get a consistent effect would be very helpful. function drawFace(coord, mid, popColor,gs,x1,x2,side) { /*Gradients in our case run either up/down or left right. We have two algorithms depending on whether or not it's a sideways facing piece. Rather than parse the "rgb(r,g,b)" string(popColor) retrieved from elsewhere, it is simply offset with the gs variable to give the illusion that it starts at a darker color.*/ var canvas = document.getElementById('depth'); //This is for excanvas.js var G_vmlCanvasManager; if (G_vmlCanvasManager != undefined) { // ie IE G_vmlCanvasManager.initElement(canvas); } //Init canvas if (canvas.getContext) { var ctx = canvas.getContext('2d'); if (side) var lineargradient=ctx.createLinearGradient(coord[x1][0]+gs,mid[1],mid[0],mid[1]); else var lineargradient=ctx.createLinearGradient(coord[0][0],coord[2][1]+gs,coord[0][0],mid[1]); lineargradient.addColorStop(0,popColor); lineargradient.addColorStop(1,'black'); ctx.fillStyle=lineargradient; ctx.beginPath(); //Draw from one corner to the midpoint, then to the other corner, //and apply a stroke and a fill. ctx.moveTo(coord[x1][0],coord[x1][1]); ctx.lineTo(mid[0],mid[1]); ctx.lineTo(coord[x2][0],coord[x2][1]); ctx.stroke(); ctx.fill(); } } function draw(e) { var arr = new Array() var i = 0; var mid = new Array(2); $(".pop").each(function() { mid[0]=Math.round($(document).width()/2); mid[1]=Math.round($(document).height()/2); arr[arr.length++]=new getElemProperties(this,mid); i++; }); arr.sort(sortByDistance); clearCanvas(); for (a=0;a<i;a++) { /*In the following conditional statements, we're testing to see which direction faces should be drawn, based on a 1-point perspective drawn from the midpoint. In the first statement, we're testing to see if the lower-left hand corner coord[3] is higher on the screen than the midpoint. If so, we set it's gradient starting position to start at a point in space 60pixels higher(-60) than the actual side, and we also declare which corners make up our face, in this case the lower two corners, coord[3], and coord[2].*/ if (arr[a].bottomFace) drawFace(arr[a].coord,mid,arr[a].popColor,-60,3,2); if (arr[a].topFace) drawFace(arr[a].coord,mid,arr[a].popColor,60,0,1); if (arr[a].leftFace) drawFace(arr[a].coord,mid,arr[a].popColor,60,0,3,true); if (arr[a].rightFace) drawFace(arr[a].coord,mid,arr[a].popColor,-60,1,2,true); } } $("a.pop").bind("mouseenter mouseleave focusin focusout",draw); If you need to see the effect in action, or if you want the full javascript code, you can check it out here: http://www.robnixondesigns.com/strangematter/

  • WPF Xaml Custom Styling Selected Item Style in a ListBox

    - by John Batdorf
    I have a list box that scrolls images horizontally. I have the following XAML I used blend to create it. It originally had a x:Key on the Style TaregetType line, MSDN said to remove it, as I was getting errors on that. Now I'm getting this error: Error 3 Operation is not valid while ItemsSource is in use. Access and modify elements with ItemsControl.ItemsSource instead. I don't understand how to apply all of this junk that way, I've tried several thing, nothing is working. My goal is to have the selected item's background be white, not blue. Seems like a lot of work for something so small! • Custom Geo Tagging. Name to position and position to name

    - by Toni Michel Caubet
    Hello there i am implementing a custom geo tagging system, ok Array where i store the cordenades of each place /* ******Opciones del etiquetado del mapa*** */ var TagSpeed = 800; //el tiempo de la animacion var animate = true; //false = fadeIn / true = animate var paises = { "isora": { leftX: '275', topY: '60', name: 'Gran Melia Palacio de Isora' }, "pepe": { leftX: '275', topY: '60', name: 'Gran Melia de Don Pepe' }, "australia": { leftX: '565', topY: '220', name: 'Gran Melia Uluru' }, "otro": { // ejemplo leftX: '565', // cordenada x topY: '220', // cordenada y name: 'soy otro' // nombre a mostrar } /* <==> <span class="otro mPointer">isora</span> */ } /**/ this is how i check with js function escucharMapa(){ /*fOpciones*/ $('.mPointer').bind('mouseover',function(){ var clase = $(this).attr('class').replace(" mPointer", ""); var left_ = paises[clase].leftX; var top_ = paises[clase].topY; var name_ = paises[clase].name; $('.arrow .text').html(name_); /*Esta linea centra la etiqueta del hotel con la flecha. Si cambia el tamaño de fuente o la typo, habrá que cambiar el 3.3*/ $('.arrow .text').css({'marginLeft':'-'+$('.arrow .text').html().length*3.3+'px'}); $('.arrow').css({top:'-60px',left:left_+'px'}); if(animate) $('.arrow').show().stop().animate({'top':top_},TagSpeed,'easeInOutBack'); else $('.arrow').css({'top':top_+'px'}).fadeIn(500); }); $('.mPointer').bind('mouseleave',function(){ if(animate) $('.arrow').stop().animate({'top':'0px'},100,function(){ $('.arrow').hide() }); else $('.arrow').hide(); }); } /*Inicio gestion geoEtiquetado*/ $(document).ready(function(){ escucharMapa(); }); HTML <div style="float:left;height:500px;"> <div class="map"> <div class="arrow"> <div class="text"></div> <img src="img/flecha.png"/> </div> <!--mapa--> <img src="http://www.freepik.es/foto-gratis/mapa-del-mundo_17-903095345.jpg" id="img1"/> <br/> <br/> <span class="isora mPointer">isora</span> <span class="pepe mPointer">Pepe</span> <span class="australia mPointer">Australia</span> </div> </div> OK so you have vew items and when you hover one, it gets the classname, it checks the cordinades in the object and displays a cursor in those cordinades of the image, right? ok so how can i do the opposite? lets say if user hovers +-30px error margin (top and left) an area in the map the item is highlighted??? i was considering -on map image mouse over - get the offset of the mouse - if is in the margin error area -show else -no show But that does not look really efficient as long as it would have to caculate each pixel movement, no?

  • jQuery UI Tabs Plugin Broke

    - by Warren J Thompson
    We are using the jquery ui tabs arrow plugin from this fiddle: http://jsfiddle.net/dECtZ/282/, but like many plugins, it breaks with the latest version of jQuery. • Silverlight with using of DependencyProperty and ControlTemplate

    - by Taras
    Hello everyone, I'm starting to study Silverlight 3 and Visual Studio 2008. I've been trying to create Windows sidebar gadget with button controls that look like circles (I have couple of "roundish" png images). The behavior, I want, is the following: when the mouse hovers over the image it gets larger a bit. When we click on it, then it goes down and up. When we leave the button's image it becomes normal sized again. Cause I'm going to have couple of such controls I decided to implement custom control: like a button but with image and no content text. My problem is that I'm not able to set my custom properties in my template and style. What am I doing wrong? My teamplate control with three additional properties: namespace SilverlightGadgetDocked { public class ActionButton : Button { /// <summary> /// Gets or sets the image source of the button. /// </summary> public String ImageSource { get { return (String)GetValue(ImageSourceProperty); } set { SetValue(ImageSourceProperty, value); } } /// <summary> /// Gets or sets the ratio that is applied to the button's size /// when the mouse control is over the control. /// </summary> public Double ActiveRatio { get { return (Double)GetValue(ActiveRatioProperty); } set { SetValue(ActiveRatioProperty, value); } } /// <summary> /// Gets or sets the offset - the amount of pixels the button /// is shifted when the the mouse control is over the control. /// </summary> public Double ActiveOffset { get { return (Double)GetValue(ActiveOffsetProperty); } set { SetValue(ActiveOffsetProperty, value); } } public static readonly DependencyProperty ImageSourceProperty = DependencyProperty.Register("ImageSource", typeof(String), typeof(ActionButton), new PropertyMetadata(String.Empty)); public static readonly DependencyProperty ActiveRatioProperty = DependencyProperty.Register("ActiveRatio", typeof(Double), typeof(ActionButton), new PropertyMetadata(1.0)); public static readonly DependencyProperty ActiveOffsetProperty = DependencyProperty.Register("ActiveOffset", typeof(Double), typeof(ActionButton), new PropertyMetadata(0)); public ActionButton() { this.DefaultStyleKey = typeof(ActionButton); } } } And XAML with styles: <UserControl x:Class="SilverlightGadgetDocked.Page" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:SilverlightGadgetDocked="clr-namespace:SilverlightGadgetDocked" Width="130" Height="150" SizeChanged="UserControl_SizeChanged" MouseEnter="UserControl_MouseEnter" MouseLeave="UserControl_MouseLeave"> <Canvas> <Canvas.Resources> <Style x:Name="ActionButtonStyle" TargetType="SilverlightGadgetDocked:ActionButton"> <Setter Property="Template"> <Setter.Value> <ControlTemplate TargetType="SilverlightGadgetDocked:ActionButton"> <Grid> <Image Source="{TemplateBinding ImageSource}" Width="{TemplateBinding Width}" Height="{TemplateBinding Height}"/> </Grid> </ControlTemplate> </Setter.Value> </Setter> </Style> <Style x:Key="DockedActionButtonStyle" TargetType="SilverlightGadgetDocked:ActionButton" BasedOn="{StaticResource ActionButtonStyle}"> <Setter Property="Canvas.ZIndex" Value="2"/> <Setter Property="Canvas.Top" Value="10"/> <Setter Property="Width" Value="30"/> <Setter Property="Height" Value="30"/> <Setter Property="ActiveRatio" Value="1.15"/> <Setter Property="ActiveOffset" Value="5"/> </Style> <Style x:Key="InfoActionButtonStyle" TargetType="SilverlightGadgetDocked:ActionButton" BasedOn="{StaticResource DockedActionButtonStyle}"> <Setter Property="ImageSource" Value="images/action_button_info.png"/> </Style> <Style x:Key="ReadActionButtonStyle" TargetType="SilverlightGadgetDocked:ActionButton" BasedOn="{StaticResource DockedActionButtonStyle}"> <Setter Property="ImageSource" Value="images/action_button_read.png"/> </Style> <Style x:Key="WriteActionButtonStyle" TargetType="SilverlightGadgetDocked:ActionButton" BasedOn="{StaticResource DockedActionButtonStyle}"> <Setter Property="ImageSource" Value="images/action_button_write.png"/> </Style> </Canvas.Resources> <StackPanel> <Image Source="images/background_docked.png" Stretch="None"/> <TextBlock Foreground="White" MaxWidth="130" HorizontalAlignment="Right" VerticalAlignment="Top" Padding="0,0,5,0" Text="Name" FontSize="13"/> </StackPanel> <SilverlightGadgetDocked:ActionButton Canvas.Left="15" Style="{StaticResource InfoActionButtonStyle}" MouseLeftButtonDown="imgActionInfo_MouseLeftButtonDown"/> <SilverlightGadgetDocked:ActionButton Canvas.Left="45" Style="{StaticResource ReadActionButtonStyle}" MouseLeftButtonDown="imgActionRead_MouseLeftButtonDown"/> <SilverlightGadgetDocked:ActionButton Canvas.Left="75" Style="{StaticResource WriteAtionButtonStyle}" MouseLeftButtonDown="imgActionWrite_MouseLeftButtonDown"/> </Canvas> </UserControl> And Visual Studio reports that "Invalid attribute value ActiveRatio for property Property" in line 27 <Setter Property="ActiveRatio" Value="1.15"/> VERY BIG THANKS!!!

  • How can I make a jQuery UI 'draggable()' div draggable for touchscreen?

    - by artlung
    I have a jQuery UI draggable() that works in Firefox and Chrome. The user interface concept is basically click to create a "post-it" type item. Basically, I click or tap on div#everything (100% high and wide) that listens for clicks, and an input textarea displays. You add text, and then when you're done it saves it. You can drag this element around. That is working on normal browsers, but on an iPad I can test with I can't drag the items around. If I touch to select (it then dims slightly), I can't then drag it. It won't drag left or right at all. I can drag up or down, but I'm not dragging the individual div, I'm dragging the whole webpage. So here's the code I use to capture clicks: $('#everything').bind('click', function(e){ var elem = document.createElement('DIV'); STATE.top = e.pageY; STATE.left = e.pageX; var e = $(elem).css({ top: STATE.top, left: STATE.left }).html('<textarea></textarea>') .addClass('instance') .bind('click', function(event){ return false; }); $(this).append(e); }); And here's the code I use to "save" the note and turn the input div into just a display div: $('textarea').live('mouseleave', function(){ var val = jQuery.trim($(this).val()); STATE.content = val; if (val == '') { $(this).parent().remove(); } else { var div = $(this).parent(); div.text(val).css({ height: '30px' }); STATE.height = 30; if ( div.width() !== div[0].clientWidth || div.height () !== div[0].clientHeight ) { while (div.width() !== div[0].clientWidth || div.height () !== div[0].clientHeight) { var h = div.height() + 10; STATE.height = h; div.css({ height: (h) + 'px' }); // element just got scrollbars } } STATE.guid = uniqueID() div.addClass('savedNote').attr('id', STATE.guid).draggable({ stop: function() { var offset = $(this).offset(); STATE.guid = $(this).attr('id'); STATE.top = offset.top; STATE.left = offset.left; STATE.content = $(this).text(); STATE.height = $(this).height(); STATE.save(); } }); STATE.save(); $(this).remove(); } }); And I have this code when I load the page for saved notes: $('.savedNote').draggable({ stop: function() { STATE.guid = $(this).attr('id'); var offset = $(this).offset(); STATE.top = offset.top; STATE.left = offset.left; STATE.content = $(this).text(); STATE.height = $(this).height(); STATE.save(); } }); My STATE object handles saving the notes. Onload, this is the whole html body: <body> <div id="everything"></div> <div class="instance savedNote" id="iddd1b0969-c634-8876-75a9-b274ff87186b" style="top:134px;left:715px;height:30px;">Whatever dude</div> <div class="instance savedNote" id="id8a129f06-7d0c-3cb3-9212-0f38a8445700" style="top:131px;left:347px;height:30px;">Appointment 11:45am</div> <div class="instance savedNote" id="ide92e3d13-afe8-79d7-bc03-818d4c7a471f" style="top:144px;left:65px;height:80px;">What do you think of a board where you can add writing as much as possible?</div> <div class="instance savedNote" id="idef7fe420-4c19-cfec-36b6-272f1e9b5df5" style="top:301px;left:534px;height:30px;">This was submitted</div> <div class="instance savedNote" id="id93b3b56f-5e23-1bd1-ddc1-9be41f1efb44" style="top:390px;left:217px;height:30px;">Hello world from iPad.</div> </body> So, my question is really: how can I make this work better on iPad? I'm not set on jQuery UI, I'm wondering if this is something I'm doing wrong with jQuery UI, or jQuery, or whether there may be better frameworks for doing cross-platform/backward compatible draggable() elements that will work for touchscreen UIs. More general comments about how to write UI components like this would be welcome as well. Thanks!

  • Inheritance of templates in WPF

    - by Alxandr
    I'm trying to make sure that every child of a given element (MPF.MWindow) gets custom templates. For instance, the button should get the template defined in resMButton.xaml. As of now I'm using the following code on: (resMWindow.xaml) <ResourceDictionary xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:local="clr-namespace:MPF"> <Style x:Key="SystemKeyAnimations" TargetType="{x:Type Button}"> <Setter Property="Opacity" Value="0.5" /> <Setter Property="Background" Value="Transparent" /> <Style.Triggers> <EventTrigger RoutedEvent="Mouse.MouseEnter"> <BeginStoryboard> <Storyboard> <DoubleAnimationUsingKeyFrames BeginTime="00:00:00" Storyboard.TargetProperty="Opacity"> <SplineDoubleKeyFrame KeyTime="00:00:00.2" Value="1.0" /> </DoubleAnimationUsingKeyFrames> </Storyboard> </BeginStoryboard> </EventTrigger> <EventTrigger RoutedEvent="Mouse.MouseLeave"> <BeginStoryboard> <Storyboard> <DoubleAnimationUsingKeyFrames BeginTime="00:00:00" Storyboard.TargetProperty="Opacity"> <SplineDoubleKeyFrame KeyTime="00:00:00.2" Value="0.5" /> </DoubleAnimationUsingKeyFrames> </Storyboard> </BeginStoryboard> </EventTrigger> </Style.Triggers> </Style> <Style TargetType="{x:Type local:MWindow}"> <!-- Remove default frame appearance --> <Setter Property="WindowStyle" Value="None" /> <Setter Property="AllowsTransparency" Value="True" /> <Setter Property="Background" Value="Transparent" /> <Setter Property="Template"> <Setter.Value> <ControlTemplate TargetType="{x:Type local:MWindow}"> <Border Background="{TemplateBinding Background}" BorderBrush="{TemplateBinding BorderBrush}" BorderThickness="{TemplateBinding BorderThickness}" x:Name="ChromeBorder"> <Grid> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition Width="4" /> <ColumnDefinition /> <ColumnDefinition Width="4" /> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <Grid.RowDefinitions> <RowDefinition Height="4" /> <RowDefinition /> <RowDefinition Height="4" /> </Grid.RowDefinitions> <Thumb Grid.Row="0" Grid.Column="1" x:Name="TopThumb" Cursor="SizeNS" BorderThickness="4" BorderBrush="Transparent" /> <Thumb Grid.Row="2" Grid.Column="1" x:Name="BottomThumb" Cursor="SizeNS" BorderThickness="4" BorderBrush="Transparent" /> <Thumb Grid.Row="1" Grid.Column="0" x:Name="LeftThumb" Cursor="SizeWE" BorderThickness="4" BorderBrush="Transparent" /> <Thumb Grid.Row="1" Grid.Column="2" x:Name="RightThumb" Cursor="SizeWE" BorderThickness="4" BorderBrush="Transparent" /> <Thumb Grid.Row="0" Grid.Column="0" x:Name="TopLeftThumb" Cursor="SizeNWSE" BorderThickness="5" BorderBrush="Transparent" /> <Thumb Grid.Row="0" Grid.Column="2" x:Name="TopRightThumb" Cursor="SizeNESW" BorderThickness="5" BorderBrush="Transparent" /> <Thumb Grid.Row="2" Grid.Column="0" x:Name="BottomLeftThumb" Cursor="SizeNESW" BorderThickness="5" BorderBrush="Transparent" /> <Thumb Grid.Row="2" Grid.Column="2" x:Name="BottomRightThumb" Cursor="SizeNWSE" BorderThickness="5" BorderBrush="Transparent" /> <Grid Grid.Row="1" Grid.Column="1"> <Grid.RowDefinitions> <RowDefinition Height="20" /> <RowDefinition /> </Grid.RowDefinitions> <Grid> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition /> <ColumnDefinition Width="Auto" /> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal" Grid.Column="1"> <Button Command="local:WindowCommands.Minimize" Style="{StaticResource ResourceKey=SystemKeyAnimations}"> <Button.Template> <ControlTemplate> <Canvas Width="10" Height="10" Margin="5" Background="Transparent"> <Line X1="0" X2="10" Y1="5" Y2="5" Stroke="White" StrokeThickness="2" /> </Canvas> </ControlTemplate> </Button.Template> </Button> <Button Command="local:WindowCommands.Maximize" x:Name="MaximizeButton" Style="{StaticResource ResourceKey=SystemKeyAnimations}"> <Button.Template> <ControlTemplate> <Canvas Width="10" Height="10" Margin="5" Background="Transparent"> <Rectangle Width="10" Height="10" Stroke="White" StrokeThickness="2" /> </Canvas> </ControlTemplate> </Button.Template> </Button> <Button Command="ApplicationCommands.Close" Style="{StaticResource ResourceKey=SystemKeyAnimations}"> <Button.Template> <ControlTemplate> <Canvas Width="10" Height="10" Margin="5" Background="Transparent"> <Line X1="0" X2="10" Y1="0" Y2="10" Stroke="White" StrokeThickness="2" /> <Line X1="10" X2="0" Y1="0" Y2="10" Stroke="White" StrokeThickness="2" /> </Canvas> </ControlTemplate> </Button.Template> </Button> </StackPanel> <ContentControl x:Name="TitleContentControl"> <TextBlock Text="{TemplateBinding Title}" Foreground="DarkGray" Margin="5,0" /> </ContentControl> </Grid> <ContentPresenter Content="{TemplateBinding Content}" Grid.Row="1"> <ContentPresenter.Resources> <ResourceDictionary> <ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries> <ResourceDictionary Source="/MPF;component/Themes/resMWindowContent.xaml" /> </ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries> </ResourceDictionary> </ContentPresenter.Resources> </ContentPresenter> </Grid> </Grid> </Border> </ControlTemplate> </Setter.Value> </Setter> </Style> </ResourceDictionary> As you can see during the ContentPresenter which gets the content of the window I merge in a dicrionary called resMWindowContent.xaml. The resMWindowContent.xaml looks as following: <ResourceDictionary xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:local="clr-namespace:MPF"> <ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries> <ResourceDictionary Source="/MPF;component/Themes/resMButton.xaml" /> </ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries> </ResourceDictionary> It simply merges in the resMButton.xaml dictionary (this is done because in the feature I will have MTextBox, mList... and I want to separate them). The resMButton.xaml looks as following: <ResourceDictionary xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:local="clr-namespace:MPF"> <Style TargetType="{x:Type Button}"> <Setter Property="Template"> <Setter.Value> <ControlTemplate TargetType="{x:Type Button}"> <Grid Background="Transparent"> <Rectangle Stroke="{TemplateBinding BorderBrush}" StrokeThickness="{TemplateBinding BorderThickness}" Fill="{TemplateBinding Background}" /> <ContentPresenter Content="{TemplateBinding Content}" Margin="3" /> </Grid> </ControlTemplate> </Setter.Value> </Setter> </Style> </ResourceDictionary> A simple template drawing a square button. However, it isn't applied at all. My buttons remain normal, and I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. I just want every button inside the MWindow to get a special style (and in time every textbox and so forth). How do I achieve this? One note though: It's important that the styles doesn't apply to elements outside an MWindow.
