    I have a preference screen for my application and in the manifest I have given it a theme using: android:theme="@android:style/Theme.Light.WallpaperSettings" However when I nest another preference screen inside this one such as: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <PreferenceScreen xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:title="@string/setting_title" android:key="..."> <PreferenceCategory android:title="@string/title_themes" > <PreferenceScreen android:title="@string/title_themes_opt" > <ListPreference android:key="Setting_BG" android:title="@string/setting_bg" android:summary="@string/setting_bg_summary" android:entries="@array/bg_titles" android:defaultValue="0" android:entryValues="@array/bg_values" /> </PreferenceScreen> </PreferenceCategory> </PreferenceScreen> The nested preference screen loses the theme of the parent.   • EditText items in a scrolling list lose their changes when scrolled off the screen

    I have a long scrolling list of EditText items created by a SimpleCursorAdapter and prepopulated with values from an SQLite database. I make this by: cursor = db.rawQuery("SELECT _id, criterion, localweight, globalweight FROM " + dbTableName + " ORDER BY criterion", null); startManagingCursor(cursor); mAdapter = new SimpleCursorAdapter(this, R.layout.weight_edit_items, cursor, new String[]{"criterion","localweight","globalweight"}, new int[]{R.id.criterion_edit, R.id.localweight_edit, R.id.globalweight_edit}); this.setListAdapter(mAdapter); The scrolling list is several emulator screens long. The items display OK - scrolling through them shows that each has the correct value from the database. I can make an edit change to any of the EditTexts and the new text is accepted and displayed in the box. But...if I then scroll the list far enough to take the edited item off the screen, when I scroll back to look at it again its value has returned to what it was before I made the changes, ie. my edits have been lost. In trying to sort this out, I've done a getText to look at what's in the EditText after I've done my edits (and before a scroll) and getText returns the original text, even though the EditText is displaying my new text. It seems that the EditText has only accepted my edits superficially and they haven't been bound to the EditText, meaning they get dropped when scrolled off the screen. Can anyone please tell me what's going on here and what I need to do to force the EditText to retain its edits? Thanks Ian

    Hi, I have some hidden fields on my page, all of which work fine apart from one.   • server reboot has caused django project to lose directories

    A fully functional Django project as well as a couple in development have all broken following the rebooting of the server. In addition to some pieces of the Django admin returning errors as well as missing .js and .css files, I'm getting errors like this when viewing pages that include images uploaded through the admin. Exception Type: TemplateSyntaxError Exception Value: Caught an exception while rendering: (2, 'No such file or directory') Exception Location: /usr/lib/pymodules/python2.6/django/template/debug.py in render_node, line 81 Python Executable: /usr/bin/python Python Version: 2.6.4 So did the reboot stomp on some part of my configuration/setup or did it fail to restart a critical piece?

  • How not to lose focus on a login page

    I have a simple login form with 2 input fields: "username" and "password". "username" field is focused by default. The problem is that when user clicks outside "username" or "password" fields, the focus is gone (it is neither on "username" nor on "password" fields"). How can I force the focus to be on these 2 fields only ? In my case, this is a really annoying behavior, so I really want to do this :) Can I do something like: $("*").focus(function() { if (!$(this).hasClass("my_inputs_class")) { // How to stop the focusing process here ? } }); ?

  • glFog causing transparent png to lose transparency

    Without glFog, my transparent png displays fine, but with it you can see the rectanglular background and strips of other colours (notice the other dirt material is working as intended, but not using a png or transparency).   • twisted .loseConnection does not immediately lose connection?

    I have a server with a few clients connected to it. When CTRL+C is hit (that is, reactor starts shutting down), I want to close all my connections, wait until they are cleanly closed, and then stop. I do this by going through the connected clients' transports and calling .loseConnection(). On the ones that are connected locally, they immediately disconnect. However, on one that is connected through the internet, the connection is not immediately lost. Communication stops - and closing the client program no longer even tells the server that the connection has died, although it does before calling .loseConnection() - but the connection is not deemed 'lost' until a few minutes later after I send a few heartbeat requests from the server. I understand that if a connection dies, there's no way for the server to know unless it tries to send some data. But if I specifically ask for a connection to be closed, why does it not just close/disconnect immediately? Am I calling the wrong function?

  • Users lose access privileges every night

    Hi I'm having a problem with a WSS 3.0 instance where users keep losing their upload access rights every night. Users can always enter the Site involved and can browse lists, document libraries etc. just like normal, but they get an error when trying to upload documents, getting access denied error. This can be fixed by applying their access rights again in WSS, but it has to be done every morning, making that solution not feasible. This is a dedicated virtual server and no other applications running on it. Has anyone had a similar problem regarding WSS and Sharepoint access rights ?

  • Cygwin GCC + WinXP cmd.exe does nothing

    My basic problem is that if I run GCC from the windows command line (cmd.exe in Windows XP) and it does nothing: no .o files are created, no error messages, nothing. It will only throw an error message if I use DOS-style paths, but nothing else. When I run from the Cygwin shell then it will throws error messages as appropriate for the errors in the source and produces the .o files as it needs. Using 'make' from the DOS command line doesn't work either. Has anyone encountered this behavior before?

  • Installed Apache. Bash: 'service httpd status' does nothing,

    I just installed Apache 2 on CentOS5 from source (httpd-2.2.15.tar.gz) using: ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/apache make make install /usr/local/apache/bin/apachectl start I have verified that httpd is running in ps, and verified it is serving the default htdocs page. However, Apache is not found in 'service --status-all' and is not found in '/etc/init.d', so I cannot run 'service httpd status' or '/etc/init.d/httpd start', and other commands. Any ideas what I am missing?

  • ls returns nothing only in certain directories

    I have a raid drive mounted here: /data/ And certain directories like this one: /data/somedir/somesubdir/ when I run ls w/ or w/o any flags, terminal doesn't return anything. It does not return an empty directory listing. It simply goes to the next line and sits there blank with no prompt coming up. I cannot CTRL-C out of it. I have to close this terminal instance and start over. At first I thought it was something to do with the ls command, but its pointing to /bin/ls and I can ls other directories just fine. Also, running this find /data/somedir/somesubdir immediately finds all the files just as expected.

  • HP 1210 Scan Button does nothing.

    I have an HP 1210 all-in-one nightmare of a printer which has decided not to listen to the scan button anymore. I've dug into it, and see in the properties of the scanner in Windows XP that it says "No applications are registered for this event" under what to do when the Scan button is pressed. I've tried re-installing the HP software, didn't help. Updated the drivers off the website, and downgraded them to the ones on the CD, neither had an effect. Is there any way to tell Windows to just open the Scan/Cammera wizard when I press the Scan button on the printer? Windows XP SP3, if that matters.

  • Windows: redirect stdout and stderror to nothing

    I have a command I am running produces a ton of output, I want to silence the output without writing to a file. I have used the following to send all output to a file, but again I don't want any file output: command > out.txt 2>&1 I have used command > /bin/null on my CentOS box before, but I can't find a similar thing for windows.
