  • SDWebImage : setImageWithURL fails when used to set image of a UITableViewCell

    - by Chim
    When call setImageWithURL, it fails with following, [UIImageView setImageWithURL:placeholderImage:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x149a20 2011-12-14 18:11:38.060 [781:707] Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: '-[UIImageView setImageWithURL:placeholderImage:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x149a20' I can confirm I have included SDWebImage project and required headers correctly as I can use the SDWebImageManager successfully. Following is the code where I called the UIImageView category method setImageWithURL NSURL* url = [NSURL URLWithString:@"www.abc.com/abc.png"]; [cell.imageView setImageWithURL:url placeholderImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"abc.png"]];

  • Load HTML NSString into a UIWebView

    - by ehenrik
    Im doing a project where I connect to a webpage using the NSURLConnection to be able to monitor the status codes that are returned (200 OK / 404 ERROR). I would like to send the user to the top url www.domain.com if I recieve 404 as status code and if i recieve as 200 status code I would like to load the page in to a webview. I have seen several implementations of this problem by creating a new request but I feel that it is unnecessary since you already received the html in the first request so i would just like to load that HTML in to the webView. So i try to use the [webView loadHTMLFromString: baseURL:] but it doesn't always work, I have noticed that when i print the NSString with html in the connectionDidFinnishLoading it sometimes is null and when I monitor these cases by printing the html in didReceiveData a random number of the last packets is NULL (differs between 2-10). It is always the same webpages that doesn't get loaded. If I load them to my webView using [webView loadRequest:myRequest] it always works. My implementation looks like this perhaps someone of you can see what Im doing wrong. I create my first request with a button click. -(IBAction)buttonClick:(id)sender { NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString:@"http://www.domain.com/page2/apa.html"]; NSURLRequest *theRequest = [NSURLRequest requestWithURL:url] NSURLConnection *theConnection = [[NSURLConnection alloc] initWithRequest:theRequest delegate:self]; if( theConnection ) { webData = [[NSMutableData data] retain]; } else { } } Then I monitor the response code in the didReceiveResponse method by casting the request to a NSHTTPURLResponse to be able to access the status codes and then setting a Bool depending on the status code. -(void)connection:(NSURLConnection *)connection didReceiveResponse:(NSURLResponse *)response { NSHTTPURLResponse *ne = (NSHTTPURLResponse *)response; if ([ne statusCode] == 200){ ok = TRUE; } [webData setLength: 0]; } I then check the bools value in connectionDidFinnishLoading. If I log the html NSString I get the source of the webpage so i know that it isn't an empty string. -(void)connectionDidFinishLoading:(NSURLConnection *)connection { NSString *html = [[NSString alloc] initWithBytes: [webData mutableBytes] length:[webData length] encoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding]; NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString:@"http://www.domain.com/"]; if (ok){ [webView loadHTMLString:html baseURL:url]; ok = FALSE; } else{ //Create a new request to www.domain.com } } webData is an instance variable and I load it in didReceiveData like this. -(void)connection:(NSURLConnection *)connection didReceiveData:(NSData *)data { [webData appendData:data]; }

  • -(void)... does not work/appeal (iOS)

    - by user1012535
    Hi I've got a problem with my -(void) in my Xcode project for iOS. • Generate JSON object with transactionReceipt

    - by Carlos
    Hi, I've been the past days trying to test my first in-app purchse iphone application. Unfortunately I can't find the way to talk to iTunes server to verify the transactionReceipt. Because it's my first try with this technology I chose to verify the receipt directly from the iPhone instead using server support. But after trying to send the POST request with a JSON onbject created using the JSON api from google code, itunes always returns a strange response (instead the "status = 0" string I wait for). Here's the code that I use to verify the receipt: - (void)recordTransaction:(SKPaymentTransaction *)transaction { NSString *receiptStr = [[NSString alloc] initWithData:transaction.transactionReceipt encoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding]; NSDictionary *jsonDictionary = [NSDictionary dictionaryWithObjectsAndKeys:@"algo mas",@"receipt-data",nil]; NSString *jsonString = [jsonDictionary JSONRepresentation]; NSLog(@"string to send: %@",jsonString); NSLog(@"JSON Created"); urlData = [[NSMutableData data] retain]; //NSURL *sandboxStoreURL = [[NSURL alloc] initWithString:@"https://sandbox.itunes.apple.com/verifyReceipt"]; NSMutableURLRequest *request = [NSMutableURLRequest requestWithURL:[NSURL URLWithString:@"https://sandbox.itunes.apple.com/verifyReceipt"]]; [request setHTTPMethod:@"POST"]; [request setHTTPBody:[jsonString dataUsingEncoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding]]; NSLog(@"will create connection"); [[NSURLConnection alloc] initWithRequest:request delegate:self]; } maybe I'm forgetting something in the request's headers but I think that the problem is in the method I use to create the JSON object. HEre's how the JSON object looks like before I add it to the HTTPBody : string to send: {"receipt-data":"{\n\t\"signature\" = \"AUYMbhY ........... D0gIjEuMCI7Cn0=\";\n\t\"pod\" = \"100\";\n\t\"signing-status\" = \"0\";\n}"} The responses I've got: complete response { exception = "java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Property list parsing failed while attempting to read unquoted string. No allowable characters were found. At line number: 1, column: 0."; status = 21002; } Thanks a lot for your guidance.

  • How to call JSON asynchronous in xcode/ iphone develope

    - by Frames84
    I'm using the JSON framework hosting on Google. What and it's a news app that loads JSON feeds, when app goes off to load the feed I want to display the UIActivityIndicatorView but I've found my JSON Access code is not being called asynchronous which is locking the user interface. I have highlighted the function in the code and can't figuree out without breaking how to change the code. #import "JSON DataAccess Wrapper.h" #import "JSON.h" @implementation JSON_DataAccess_Wrapper @synthesize dataItemList; ////////////////////////////////////////////// /* START FEED CONNECTION/ HANDLE METHODS */ ////////////////////////////////////////////// - (void)connection:(NSURLConnection *)connection didReceiveResponse:(NSURLResponse *)response { [responseData setLength:0]; } - (void)connection:(NSURLConnection *)connection didReceiveData:(NSData *)data { [responseData appendData:data]; } - (void)connection:(NSURLConnection *)connection didFailWithError:(NSError *)error { //label.text = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"Connection failed: %@", [error description]]; } - (void)connectionDidFinishLoading:(NSURLConnection *)connection { [connection release]; } - (NSString *)stringWithUrl:(NSURL *)url { NSURLRequest *urlRequest = [NSURLRequest requestWithURL:url cachePolicy:NSURLRequestReturnCacheDataElseLoad timeoutInterval:30]; NSData *urlData; NSURLResponse *response = nil; NSError *error = nil; /* HOW TO MAKE THE CALL BELOW ASYNCHRONOUS */ urlData = [NSURLConnection sendSynchronousRequest:urlRequest returningResponse:&response error:&error]; return [[NSString alloc] initWithData:urlData encoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding]; } -(id) objectWithUrl:(NSURL *)url { SBJSON *jsonParser = [SBJSON new]; NSString *jsonString = [self stringWithUrl:url]; return [jsonParser objectWithString:jsonString error:NULL]; } - (NSMutableArray *) downloadJSONFeed { id response = [self objectWithUrl:[NSURL URLWithString:@"http://www.mysite.co.uk/index2.php?option=JSON"]]; NSMutableArray *feed = (NSMutableArray *) response; return feed; }

  • performSelectorInBackground: using self.object ?

    - by Emil
    Hey. I am trying to load an image for a custom tableViewCell. The code gets run from the CustomCell-class (CustomCell.h) from [cell performSelectorInBackground:@selector(loadImageFromURL:) withObject:[NSURL URLWithString:urlString]]; in the cellForRowAtIndexPath:-function. Cell gets created here: CustomCell *cell = (CustomCell *) [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:CellIdentifier]; if (cell == nil){ NSArray *topLevelObjects = [[NSBundle mainBundle] loadNibNamed:@"CustomCell" owner:self options:nil]; for (id currentObject in topLevelObjects){ if ([currentObject isKindOfClass:[CustomCell class]]){ cell = (CustomCell *) currentObject; break; } } } CustomCell.h: // ... IBOutlet UIImageView *cellImage; } - (void) loadImageFromURL:(NSURL *)url; // … CustomCell.m: - (void) loadImageFromURL:(NSURL *)url { NSAutoreleasePool *pool = [[NSAutoreleasePool alloc] init]; NSLog(@"Loading image..."); [loadingImage startAnimating]; [self.cellImage setImageWithURL:url]; [loadingImage stopAnimating]; NSLog(@"Done loading image..."); [pool release]; } setImageWithURL: is a function from the SDWebImage-framework that rs has made. The real error is that the image doesen't show up. EDIT: When I cleared the app's cache, the images didn't show up anymore. EDIT: Seems like URL is nil for some reason. Am I passing the object in the selector correctly? Can you see anything wrong? Thanks.

  • NSMutableObject from existing custom class

    - by A.S.
    Hello there. I have an existing class that has methods to deserialise from XML in my code. Now I need to create correct CoreData model from that class. It's objects will be created not only from CoreData storage but also by deserializing XML (somehow like instance->title = [[NSString stringWithUTF8String: (const char *)subNode->children->content] retain; ) without saving to CoreData, and sometimes I need to save it. What is the correct steps to modify existing class to do that except of adding CoreData framework and making my class an NSManagedObject instead of NSObject? Class sample: @interface TSTSong : NSManagedObject<NTSerializableObject> { NSString *identifier; NSString *title; float length; NSURL *previewURL; NSString *author; NSURL *coverURL; NSString *appStoreId; BOOL isPurchased; NSURL *bannerURL; NSDecimalNumber *priceValue; NSLocale *priceLocale; } P.S. I'm noob, so I'f I'm doing smth. wrong - please let me know. Sorry for my english.

  • Implementation of "Automatic Lightweight Migration" for Core Data (iPhone)

    - by RickiG
    Hi I would like to make my app able to do an automatic lightweight migration when I add new attributes to my core data model. In the guide from Apple this is the only info on the subject I could find: Automatic Lightweight Migration To request automatic lightweight migration, you set appropriate flags in the options dictionary you pass in addPersistentStoreWithType:configuration:URL:options:error:. You need to set values corresponding to both the NSMigratePersistentStoresAutomaticallyOption and the NSInferMappingModelAutomaticallyOption keys to YES: NSError *error; NSURL *storeURL = <#The URL of a persistent store#>; NSPersistentStoreCoordinator *psc = <#The coordinator#>; NSDictionary *options = [NSDictionary dictionaryWithObjectsAndKeys: [NSNumber numberWithBool:YES], NSMigratePersistentStoresAutomaticallyOption, [NSNumber numberWithBool:YES], NSInferMappingModelAutomaticallyOption, nil]; if (![psc addPersistentStoreWithType:<#Store type#> configuration:<#Configuration or nil#> URL:storeURL options:options error:&error]) { // Handle the error. } My NSPersistentStoreCoordinator is initialized in this way: - (NSPersistentStoreCoordinator *)persistentStoreCoordinator { if (persistentStoreCoordinator != nil) { return persistentStoreCoordinator; } NSURL *storeUrl = [NSURL fileURLWithPath: [[self applicationDocumentsDirectory] stringByAppendingPathComponent: @"FC.sqlite"]]; NSError *error = nil; persistentStoreCoordinator = [[NSPersistentStoreCoordinator alloc] initWithManagedObjectModel:[self managedObjectModel]]; if (![persistentStoreCoordinator addPersistentStoreWithType:NSSQLiteStoreType configuration:nil URL:storeUrl options:nil error:&error]) { NSLog(@"Unresolved error %@, %@", error, [error userInfo]); abort(); } return persistentStoreCoordinator; } I am having trouble seeing where and how I should add the Apple code to get the Automatic Lightweight Migration working?

  • AVAudioPlayer not unloading cached memory after each new allocation

    - by Rob
    I am seeing in Instruments that when I play a sound via the standard "AddMusic" example method that Apple provides, it allocates 32kb of memory via the prepareToPlay call (which references the AudioToolBox framework's Cache_DataSource::ReadBytes function) each time a new player is allocated (i.e. each time a different sound is played). However, that cached data never gets released. This obviously poses a huge problem if it doesn't get released and you have a lot of sound files to play, since it tends to keep allocating memory and eventually crashes if you have enough unique sound files (which I unfortunately do). Have any of you run across this or what am I doing wrong in my code? I've had this issue for a while now and it's really bugging me since my code is verbatim of what Apple's is (I think). How I call the function: - (void)playOnce:(NSString *)aSound { // Gets the file system path to the sound to play. NSString *soundFilePath = [[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:aSound ofType:@"caf"]; // Converts the sound's file path to an NSURL object NSURL *soundURL = [[NSURL alloc] initFileURLWithPath: soundFilePath]; self.soundFileURL = soundURL; [soundURL release]; AVAudioPlayer * newAudio=[[AVAudioPlayer alloc] initWithContentsOfURL: soundFileURL error:nil]; self.theAudio = newAudio; // automatically retain audio and dealloc old file if new m4a file is loaded [newAudio release]; // release the audio safely // this is where the prior cached data never gets released [theAudio prepareToPlay]; // set it up and play [theAudio setNumberOfLoops:0]; [theAudio setVolume: volumeLevel]; [theAudio setDelegate: self]; [theAudio play]; } and then theAudio gets released in the dealloc method of course.

  • Providing lat/long AND title in iOS Maps URL seems to cause zoom level to be ignored

    - by Ian Howson
    I'm writing an iOS app that shows a location in Maps upon a user action. I'd like to drop a pin with a description and zoom in to show map detail. If I invoke Maps with the url http://maps.google.com/maps?q=-33.895851,151.18483+(Some+Description)&z=19 I get a pin with 'Some Description', but the zoom level is ignored. This does work on the Google Maps website. If I use http://maps.google.com/maps?q=-33.895851,151.18483&z=19 the zoom works, but I get no pin. I've tried a few combinations of ?q=, ?ll= and ?sll=, but so far, nothing will change zoom and show a description. Any clues? Just so we're really clear, here are some screenshots. I want this to work on a real device (i.e. with iOS Maps). The simulator uses Google Maps through Safari. Here's what I see with URL 1 ([[UIApplication sharedApplication] openURL:[NSURL URLWithString: @"http://maps.google.com/maps?q=-33.895851,151.18483+(Some+Description)&z=19"]];) This is URL 2 ([[UIApplication sharedApplication] openURL:[NSURL URLWithString: @"http://maps.google.com/maps?q=-33.895851,151.18483&z=19"]];): This is relikd's suggestion ([[UIApplication sharedApplication] openURL:[NSURL URLWithString: @"http://maps.google.com/maps?z=19&q=-33.895851,151.18483+(Some+Description)"]];): I want the image I see in screenshot 2, but with a pin and a description.

  • Twitter API Rate Limit - Overcoming on an unauthenticated JSON Get with Objective C?

    - by Cian
    I see the rate limit is 150/hr per IP. This'd be fine, but my application is on a mobile phone network (with shared IP addresses). I'd like to query twitter trends, e.g. GET /trends/1/json. This doesn't require authorization, however what if the user first authorized with my application using OAuth, then hit the JSON API? The request is built as follows: - (void) queryTrends:(NSString *) WOEID { NSString *urlString = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"http://api.twitter.com/1/trends/%@.json", WOEID]; NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString:urlString]; NSURLRequest *theRequest=[NSURLRequest requestWithURL:url cachePolicy:NSURLRequestUseProtocolCachePolicy timeoutInterval:10.0]; NSURLConnection *theConnection=[[NSURLConnection alloc] initWithRequest:theRequest delegate:self startImmediately:YES]; if (theConnection) { // Create the NSMutableData to hold the received data. theData = [[NSMutableData data] retain]; } else { NSLog(@"Connection failed in Query Trends"); } //NSData *data = [NSData dataWithContentsOfURL:[NSURL URLWithString:urlString]]; } I have no idea how I'd build this request as an authenticated one however, and haven't seen any examples to this effect online. I've read through the twitter OAuth documentation, but I'm still puzzled as to how it should work. I've experimented with OAuth using Ben Gottlieb's prebuild library, and calling this in my first viewDidLoad: OAuthViewController *oAuthVC = [[OAuthViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"OAuthTwitterDemoViewController" bundle:[NSBundle mainBundle]]; // [self setViewController:aViewController]; [[self navigationController] pushViewController:oAuthVC animated:YES]; This should store all the keys required in the app's preferences, I just need to know how to build the GET request after authorizing! Maybe this just isn't possible? Maybe I'll have to proxy the requests through a server side application? Any insight would be appreciated!

  • Get 1 array from 2 arrays (using RestKit 0.20)

    - by Reez
    I'm using RestKit and was wondering how to combine two array's into one array. I already have the data being pulled in separately from API1 and API2, but I don't know how to combine them into 1 tableView. Each API is pulling in media, and I want the combined tableView to show the most recent media (like any standard timeline does these days). I will post any extra code or help as necessary, thanks so much! Below shows API1 + API2 being pulled in correctly, but not combined into the tableView. Only data from API1 shows in the tableView. • Issue with GCD and too many threads

    - by dariaa
    I have an image loader class which provided with NSURL loads and image from the web and executes completion block. Code is actually quite simple - (void)downloadImageWithURL:(NSString *)URLString completion:(BELoadImageCompletionBlock)completion { dispatch_async(_queue, ^{ // dispatch_async(dispatch_get_global_queue(DISPATCH_QUEUE_PRIORITY_HIGH, 0), ^{ UIImage *image = nil; NSURL *URL = [NSURL URLWithString:URLString]; if (URL) { image = [UIImage imageWithData:[NSData dataWithContentsOfURL:URL]]; } dispatch_async(dispatch_get_main_queue(), ^{ completion(image, URLString); }); }); } When I replace dispatch_async(_queue, ^{ with commented out dispatch_async(dispatch_get_global_queue(DISPATCH_QUEUE_PRIORITY_HIGH, 0), ^{ Images are loading much faster, wich is quite logical (before that images would be loaded one at a time, now a bunch of them are loading simultaneously). My issue is that I have perhaps 50 images and I call downloadImageWithURL:completion: method for all of them and when I use global queue instead of _queue my app eventually crashes and I see there are 85+ threads. Can the problem be that my calling dispatch_get_global_queue(DISPATCH_QUEUE_PRIORITY_HIGH, 0) 50 times in a row makes GCD create too many threads? I thought that gcd handles all the treading and makes sure the number of threads is not huge, but if it's not the case is there any way I can influence number of threads?

  • JSON to display text -- Freezes UI

    - by Adam Storr
    Hi everyone, I currently have a very simple view which displays info from a JSON feed. The problem I'm facing is the few second pause I encounter once I press this tab. How can I make this view load instantly and then have the label.text areas load after? Preferable with an activity indicator? Should I use threads? Thanks in advance! Code: - (NSString *)stringWithUrl:(NSURL *)url { NSURLRequest *urlRequest = [NSURLRequest requestWithURL:url cachePolicy:NSURLRequestReloadRevalidatingCacheData timeoutInterval:30]; NSData *urlData; NSURLResponse *response; NSError *error; urlData = [NSURLConnection sendSynchronousRequest:urlRequest returningResponse:&response error:&error]; return [[NSString alloc] initWithData:urlData encoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding]; } - (id)objectWithUrl:(NSURL *)url { SBJsonParser *jsonParser = [SBJsonParser new]; NSString *jsonString = [self stringWithUrl:url]; return [jsonParser objectWithString:jsonString error:NULL]; } - (NSDictionary *)downloadStats { id response = [self objectWithUrl:[NSURL URLWithString:@"http://www.example.com/JSON"]]; NSDictionary *feed = (NSDictionary *)response; return feed; [feed release]; } - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; [GlobalStatsScrollView setScrollEnabled:YES]; [GlobalStatsScrollView setContentSize:CGSizeMake(320, 360)]; } - (void)viewWillAppear:(BOOL)animated { NSLog(@"View appears"); // Download JSON Feed NSDictionary *feed = [self downloadStats]; totalproduced.text = [feed valueForKey:@"Produced"]; totalno.text = [feed valueForKey:@"Total"]; mostcommon.text = [feed valueForKey:@"Most Common"]; }

  • How can I successfully dechiper Instruments Messages for iPhone Leak

    - by dubbeat
    Hi, I have a memory leak in my app. (This is the first of many I'm sure :() I've being trying to use Instruments to find it. Instruments gives me a lot of information but I think I must just not know how to use this information. What I did so far was 1) Run the app with Instruments 2) Memory Leak Occurs named general -stack 16 3) Find general - stack 16 in the object allocations part of instruments 4) The information here says the event type is a malloc, that webcore is responsible and the something named WKSetCurrentGraphicContext is the responsible caller. How can I use this given information to discover where in my code the leak is being caused? If I comment out the following function I don't get the leak warning so I guess it should be in there somewhere but I can't see where -(void)constructFeatured { NSString *imageName =[[NSString alloc] initWithFormat:@"%@%@%@",@"http://myweb/avatar_", featuredValueObject.featured_promo_artistid, @".jpg"]; NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString:imageName]; CGRect frame; frame.size.width=100; frame.size.height=100; frame.origin.x=20; frame.origin.y=39; [imageName release]; imageName=nil; SDWebImageManager *manager = [SDWebImageManager sharedManager]; UIImage *cachedImage = [manager imageWithURL:url]; if (cachedImage) { cachedImage =[ImageManipulator makeRoundCornerImage:cachedImage : 10 : 10]; UIImageView *avatarimageview = [[UIImageView alloc]initWithImage:cachedImage ]; avatarimageview.frame=frame; [self.view addSubview:avatarimageview]; UIView *spinny = [self.view viewWithTag:SPINNY_TAG]; [spinny removeFromSuperview]; [avatarimageview release]; } else { [manager downloadWithURL:url delegate:self]; } NSURL *url2 =[NSURL URLWithString:[NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@%@%@",@"http://myweb/", featuredValueObject.featured_promo_artistcountry , @".png"]]; CGRect flagframe; flagframe.size.width=16; flagframe.size.height=11; flagframe.origin.x=130; flagframe.origin.y=40; NSData* data = [[NSData alloc] initWithContentsOfURL:url2]; UIImage* img = [[UIImage alloc] initWithData:data]; UIImageView *imageflagview = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage: img]; imageflagview.frame=flagframe; [self.view addSubview:imageflagview]; [imageflagview release]; imageflagview=nil; [data release]; [img release]; [url release]; artistname =[[UILabel alloc]initWithFrame:CGRectMake(130,75, 200, 15)]; [artistname setFont:[UIFont fontWithName:@"Arial" size:(16.0)]]; artistname.backgroundColor= [UIColor clearColor]; artistname.textColor=[UIColor whiteColor]; artistname.text=featuredValueObject.featured_promo_artistname; [self.view addSubview:artistname]; [artistname release]; hasConstructedFeatured=YES; [featuredValueObject release]; featuredValueObject=nil; }

  • iphone app: delegate not responding

    - by Fiona
    Hi guys.. So i'm very new to this iphone development stuff.... and i'm stuck. I'm building an app that connects to the twitter api. However when the connectionDidFinishLoading method gets called, it doesn't seem to recognise the delegate. Here's the source code of the request class: import "OnePageRequest.h" @implementation OnePageRequest @synthesize username; @synthesize password; @synthesize receivedData; @synthesize delegate; @synthesize callback; @synthesize errorCallBack; @synthesize contactsArray; -(void)friends_timeline:(id)requestDelegate requestSelector:(SEL)requestSelector{ //set the delegate and selector self.delegate = requestDelegate; self.callback = requestSelector; //Set up the URL of the request to send to twitter!! NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString:@"http://twitter.com/statuses/friends_timeline.xml"]; [self request:url]; } -(void)request:(NSURL *) url{ theRequest = [[NSMutableURLRequest alloc] initWithURL:url]; theConnection = [[NSURLConnection alloc] initWithRequest:theRequest delegate:self]; if (theConnection){ //Create the MSMutableData that will hold the received data. //receivedData is declared as a method instance elsewhere receivedData=[[NSMutableData data] retain]; }else{ //errorMessage.text = @"Error connecting to twitter!!"; } } -(void)connection:(NSURLConnection *)connection didReceiveAuthenticationChallenge:(NSURLAuthenticationChallenge *)challenge{ if ([challenge previousFailureCount] == 0){ NSLog(@"username: %@ ",[self username]); NSLog(@"password: %@ ",[self password]); NSURLCredential *newCredential = [NSURLCredential credentialWithUser:[self username] password:[self password] persistence:NSURLCredentialPersistenceNone]; [[challenge sender] useCredential:newCredential forAuthenticationChallenge:challenge]; } else { [[challenge sender] cancelAuthenticationChallenge:challenge]; NSLog(@"Invalid Username or password!"); } } -(void)connection:(NSURLConnection *)connection didReceiveResponse:(NSURLResponse *)response{ [receivedData setLength:0]; } -(void)connection:(NSURLConnection *)connection didReceiveData:(NSData *)data{ [receivedData appendData:data]; } -(void)connection:(NSURLConnection *)connection didFailWithError:(NSError *)error{ [theConnection release]; [receivedData release]; [theRequest release]; NSLog(@"Connection failed. Error: %@ %@", [error localizedDescription], [[error userInfo] objectForKey:NSErrorFailingURLStringKey]); if(errorCallBack){ [delegate performSelector:errorCallBack withObject:error]; } } -(void)connectionDidFinishLoading:(NSURLConnection *)connection{ if (delegate && callback){ if([delegate respondsToSelector:[self callback]]){ [delegate performSelector:[self callback] withObject:receivedData]; }else{ NSLog(@"No response from delegate!"); } } [theConnection release]; [theRequest release]; [receivedData release]; } Here's the .h: @interface OnePageRequest : NSObject { NSString *username; NSString *password; NSMutableData *receivedData; NSURLRequest *theRequest; NSURLConnection *theConnection; id delegate; SEL callback; SEL errorCallBack; NSMutableArray *contactsArray; } @property (nonatomic,retain) NSString *username; @property (nonatomic,retain) NSString *password; @property (nonatomic,retain) NSMutableData *receivedData; @property (nonatomic,retain) id delegate; @property (nonatomic) SEL callback; @property (nonatomic) SEL errorCallBack; @property (nonatomic,retain) NSMutableArray *contactsArray; -(void)friends_timeline:(id)requestDelegate requestSelector:(SEL)requestSelector; -(void)request:(NSURL *) url; @end In the method: connectionDidFinishLoading, the following never gets executed: [delegate performSelector:[self callback] withObject:receivedData]; Instead I get the message: "No response from delegate" Anyone see what I'm doing wrong?! or what might be causing the problem? • Find out when all processes in (void) is done?

    - by Emil
    Hey. I need to know how you can find out when all processes (loaded) from a - (void) are done, if it's possible. Why? I'm loading in data for a UITableView, and I need to know when a Loading... view can be replaced with the UITableView, and when I can start creating the cells. This is my code: - (void) reloadData { NSAutoreleasePool *releasePool = [[NSAutoreleasePool alloc] init]; NSLog(@"Reloading data."); NSURL *urlPosts = [NSURL URLWithString:[NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@", URL]]; NSError *lookupError = nil; NSString *data = [[NSString alloc] initWithContentsOfURL:urlPosts encoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding error:&lookupError]; postsData = [data componentsSeparatedByString:@"~"]; [data release], data = nil; urlPosts = nil; self.numberOfPosts = [[postsData objectAtIndex:0] intValue]; self.postsArrayID = [[postsData objectAtIndex:1] componentsSeparatedByString:@"#"]; self.postsArrayDate = [[postsData objectAtIndex:2] componentsSeparatedByString:@"#"]; self.postsArrayTitle = [[postsData objectAtIndex:3] componentsSeparatedByString:@"#"]; self.postsArrayComments = [[postsData objectAtIndex:4] componentsSeparatedByString:@"#"]; self.postsArrayImgSrc = [[postsData objectAtIndex:5] componentsSeparatedByString:@"#"]; NSMutableArray *writeToPlist = [NSMutableArray array]; NSMutableArray *writeToNoImagePlist = [NSMutableArray array]; NSMutableArray *imagesStored = [NSMutableArray arrayWithContentsOfFile:[rootPath stringByAppendingPathComponent:@"imagesStored.plist"]]; int loop = 0; for (NSString *postID in postsArrayID) { if ([imagesStored containsObject:[NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@.png", postID]]){ NSLog(@"Allready stored, jump to next. • iPad MPMoviePlayerController only hearing audio, no videos!

    - by Steph Moreau
    I am currently rebuilding my app for the iPad. I would like to play the videos sourced online. I display the information and when i go to play the video all i get is the audio... No video is shown at all. My page looks exactly the same except that i have some "background" noise. These are the same videos i use on the iPhone app and they work perfectly This is the code that i call to play my videos - (IBAction) playMovie{ NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString:vidMovie]; MPMoviePlayerController *moviePlayer = [[MPMoviePlayerController alloc]initWithContentURL:url]; [moviePlayer play]; } I am using this on a button on the right side view of a splitViewController. I get the same result in my simulator as on an iPad. Not sure if i'm missing something, but if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated!
