• Is there a way to pass another parameter in the preg_replace_callback callback function?

  mmmh guys, i really hope my english is good enaught to explain what i need. Lets take this example (that is just an example!) of code: class Something(){ public function Lower($string){ return strtolower($string); } } class Foo{ public $something; public $reg; public $string; public function __construct($reg, $string, $something){ $this->something = $something; $this->reg = $reg; $this->string = $string; } public function Replace(){ return preg_replace_callback($this->reg, 'Foo::Bar', $this->string); } public static function Bar($matches){ /* * [...] * do something with $matches and create the $output variable * [...] */ /* * I know is really useless in this example, but i need to have an istance to an object here * (in this example, the Something object, but can be something else!) */ return $this->something->Lower($output); } } $s = new Something(); $foo = new Foo($myregexp, $mystring, $s); $content = $foo->Replace(); So, the php manual say that to use a class method as callback in preg_replace_callback(), the method must be abstract. I need to pass an instance of a previuosly initialized object (in the example, an instance of the Something class) at the callback function. I tryed to use call_user_func(), but doesnt work (becose in this way i miss the matches parameter). Is there a way to do that, or have i to separate the process (doing before preg_match_all, for each match retrieve the replace value, and then a simple preg_replace)?

• ASP.NET MVC Strongly Typed Partial View, gives could not load type error

  I am attempting to create a strongly typed view with a "MVC View User Control" that is being rendered using Html.RenderPartial(). The top of my ascx file looks like this: <%@ Control Language="C#" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewUserControl<System.Collections.IEnumerable<string>>" %> There is nothing else on this page, currently. When I execute the app and load the page that renders this control, I get the following error: Could not load type 'System.Web.Mvc.ViewUserControl<System.Collections.IEnumerable<string>>'. So, then I simplified it: <%@ Control Language="C#" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewUserControl<String>" %> And then, just in case it needed to be fully qualified: <%@ Control Language="C#" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewUserControl<System.String>" %> Everytime I get the same error (substituting type). what am I doing wrong here? I'm on .NET 3.5 with ASP.NET MVC 1.0 RTM.

• Partial specialization with reference template parameter fails to compile in VS2005

  I have code that boils down to the following: template struct Foo {}; template & I struct FooBar {}; //////// template struct Baz {}; template & I struct Baz< FooBar { static void func(FooBar& value); }; //////// struct MyStruct { static const Foo s_floatFoo; }; // Elsewhere: const Foo MyStruct::s_floatFoo; void callBaz() { typedef FooBar FloatFooBar; FloatFooBar myFloatFooBar; Baz::func(myFloatFooBar); } This compiles successfully under GCC, however, under VS2005, I get: error C2039: 'func' : is not a member of 'Baz' with [ T=FloatFooBar ] error C3861: 'func': identifier not found However, if I change const Foo<T>& I to const Foo<T>* I (passing I by pointer rather than by reference), and defining FloatFooBar as: typedef FooBar FloatFooBar; Both GCC and VS2005 are happy. What's going on? Is this some kind of subtle template substitution failure that VS2005 is handling differently to GCC, or a compiler bug? (The strangest thing: I thought I had the above code working in VS2005 earlier this morning. But that was before my morning coffee. I'm now not entirely certain I wasn't under some sort of caffeine-craving-induced delirium...)

• Rendering a derived partial view with Html.RenderPartial

  Calling Html.RenderPartial("~/Views/Payments/MyControl.ascx"); from a view works if Method.ascx is a control that directly inherits System.Web.Mvc.ViewUserControl. However, if the control inherits a new class that derives from System.Web.Mvc.ViewUserControl, the call to Html.RenderPartial("~/Views/Payments/MyDerivedControl.ascx"); fails, reporting that no such view exists. Example derived ViewUserControl: class MyDerivedControl : System.Web.Mvc.ViewUserControl { public Method() { ViewData["SomeData"] = "test"; } } Is there a workaround, or is there another way I should be doing this? Perhaps an HTML helper?

• Regular Expression to Match All Characters after another Regex Match

  I know this may sound a little confusing, so I am open to suggestions on renaming the title. Basically I have string such as C:...\Downloads\Folder\SubFolder\SubSubFolder. and I want to return the SubFolder and SubSubFolder only. So far, my Regex looks like (?=\\Downloads\\.*?\\).* which matches Downloads\Folder\SubFolder\SubSubFolder. Does anybody have any Ideas what I am missing???? All the solutions below seem to work (except if you didn't know "Folder"). Potentially a bug with the tool I was using to test the regular expressions.

• [AS 3.0] How to use the string.match method to find multiple occurrences of the same word in a strin

  In Actionscript and Adobe Flex, I'm using a pattern and regexp (with the global flag) with the string.match method and it works how I'd like except when the match returns multiple occurrences of the same word in the text. In that case, all the matches for that word point only to the index for the first occurrence of that word. For example, if the text is "cat dog cat cat cow" and the pattern is a search for cat*, the match method returns an array of three occurrences of "cat", however, they all point to only the index of the first occurrence of cat when i use indexOf on a loop through the array. I'm assuming this is just how the string.match method is (although please let me know if i'm doing something wrong or missing something!). I want to find the specific indices of every occurrence of a match, even if it is of a word that was already previously matched. I'm wondering if that is just how the string.match method is and if so, if anyone has any idea what the best way to do this would be. Thanks.

• Regex to ensure group match doesn't end with a specific character

  I'm having trouble coming up with a regular expression to match a particular case. I have a list of tv shows in about 4 formats: Name.Of.Show.S01E01 Name.Of.Show.0101 Name.Of.Show.01x01 Name.Of.Show.101 What I want to match is the show name. My main problem is that my regex matches the name of the show with a preceding '.'.   I used the auto-complete function in jquery. It's data source are the results from a php-back-end. $("#ice_id").autocomplete("ice-ver.php", { extraParams : { flavour_id: $("#flavour_id").val() } }); Let us take following example: We type in the flavour ID 3992 ...(and 3992 exists in the database and is properly returned by the php backend). If we type in now 3992999 the auto-complete function should top showing anything up ...but unfortunately it still does, (could the problem lie within the fact that I am using integers instead of strings or chars?)   I really need some help with my query. I am trying to merge two tables together, but I only want the data were Cast_Date and Sched_Cast_Date are the same. I try to run the query but I get the error missing keyword in the line 21 column 13. I am sure that this is not the only potential error that I have. • On Mac, two jpg's whose color should match do not

  So I'm designing a myspace page and I have two images, one is a repeating bg image, and another is an image which loads on a layer above it, which acts as a header/masthead. For some reason, on Macs only, and only in the browser (tested in safari and ff), the masthead renders slightly darker than the repeating bg image, creating this color inconsistency. The block that extends up behind the album artwork is a solid box made with css which blocks some of myspace's standard content. It actually renders as the proper color, blending in well with the bottom portion of this image, which is the repeating part of the background, but becomes noticeable as it extends up, over the masthead, which is darker than it should be. Both images where created in GIMP and saved as jpg's using, as far as i can tell, the same settings. Here's the pic of what is going on: Screenshot - Click Me!!!   I want to be able to parse file paths like this one: /var/www/index.(htm|html|php|shtml) into an ordered array: array("htm", "html", "php", "shtml") and then produce a list of alternatives: /var/www/index.htm /var/www/index.html /var/www/index.php /var/www/index.shtml Right now, I have a preg_match statement that can split two alternatives: preg_match_all ("/\(([^)]*)\|([^)]*)\)/", $path_resource, $matches); Could somebody give me a pointer how to extend this to accept an unlimited number of alternatives (at least two)? Just regarding the regular expression, the rest I can deal with. The rule is: The list needs to start with a ( and close with a ) There must be one | in the list (i.e. at least two alternatives) Any other occurrence(s) of ( or ) are to remain untouched.

• I can't update my system properly, "no package header" error

  Every time I try to run sudo apt-get update or try running updates from the GUI interface I run into the following problem or something similar: Reading package lists... Error! E: Encountered a section with no Package: header E: Problem with MergeList /var/lib/apt/lists/archive.ubuntu.com_ubuntu_dists_precise_restricted_binary-i386_Packages E: The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened. I've tried purging using sudo rm -rf <filename> where <filename> is the listed file above, and then running sudo apt-get update to fix it (as listed elsewhere in this forum) and no luck, just keep getting this message. I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 and this is getting really frustrating... I just want a system that runs smoothly and doesn't require it's hand to be held when it comes to updates. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead." Neglect the http typos, its to evade the 2 hyperlink.. I tried making a file in the apt.conf.d folder also, and added proxy entries, also set the system proxy.. and also the "network proxy", but nothing works.. And now I cant install any software!! Help needed

• How can I easily pass all the variables from a template to a partial in Symfony with output escaping

  It there an easy way to pass all the variables a template file has access to onto a partial when I have output escaping on? I tend to create a template file, then refactor things into a partial at some point and it would seem that there would be an easy way to just pass all the same variables from the template to the partial and be done with it. I have output escaping on and I can't just pass in $sf_data. It look like calling a partial from within another partial is very simple...just pass in the variable $vars.

• preg_match_all to parse an xml-like attribute string

  I have a string like so: option_alpha="value" option_beta="some other value" option_gamma="X" ...etc. I'm using this to parse them into name & value pairs: preg_match_all("/([a-z0-9_]+)\s*=\s*[\"\'](.+?)[\"\']/is", $var_string, $matches) Which works fine, unless it encounters an empty attribute value: option_alpha="value" option_beta="" option_gamma="X" What have I done wrong in my regex?
