    Hi, I have generated class diagram by gight clicking and selecting generate class diagram usign VS 2005. There are nearly 300 class in my project . The class diagram that i have created is not in expanded view. I have to manually expand the class diagrams to view the members. Is there any way to expand the classdiagrams that are created .   • User Interface Diagram That is always reachable

    If you have to build a flow of a Use-case by drawing each Interface Diagram. Then you would start with a Diagram like say "login". But after the login page, no mather wich page you choose except the "logout" page, you always have your navigation bar right ? So all the options in the navigation bar? Like account page , personal page, etc... Do you have to make sure in your flow that in every diagram there is acces to the "accountpage" diagram ? Or do they have an other solution for that ?   • How to automatically display relationships in logical diagram?

    Consider a Logical Model where Entity A and Entity B are connected via Relationship Z. If I create a Logical Diagram (note: not another logical MODEL), I am able to drag Entity A and Entity B onto the diagram. Since the Logical Model already "knows" that Entity A and Entity B have a relationship, I would like to be able to easily add it to my logical diagram. I am already aware of the "Show Symbols" option whereby I can select the specific relationship that I want and have it appear. That is not a solution for me. The problem is that I have a LARGE logical model consisting of HUNDREDS of Entities and their various relationships. I then need to create application-specific diagrams consisting of a subset of those entities. I can easily identify and drag the 50+ entities onto a new diagram. But identifying and selecting all the associations is an exercise in frustration. Is there an option or some sort of feature that I'm missing - or any other trick - that would allow me to add only the relationships between selected entities or all entities on a diagram?

    Hi all, I am trying to understand computer architecture. In particular: - Physical view i.e. what all is packed inside the motherboard and what all outside - Conceptual view. how processor,memory,peripherals are connected. I am getting confused among various buses like local bus,PCI bus, SCSI bus,ISA bus,USB bus. I am looking for block diagrams. How is the USB port connected to processor ultimately? through PCI bus etc? Why do we have so many buses? What was it like before SCSI/IDE came? Does the diagram at : http://www.vaughns-1-pagers.com/computer/pc-block-diagram.htm look correct? It shows no connection between PCI bus and SCSI bus. Is that correct? I would greatly appreciate any other link especially of block diagrams/anatomy and not just textual writeup. Thanks,

  • Adding operation in middle of complex sequence diagram in visio 2003

    I am using Microsoft Visio 2003 to define static classes with operations/methods and a sequence diagrams referring to these classes. The sequence diagram is almost done, but i realized that i missed one operation in middle of the diagram. When i try to move rest of the sequences down by selecting it as a block, all the operations in the block loose link with static diagrams. ( Methods which were referred to static classes as fun(), became fun, which means that now they no longer refer to static diagrams and any future changes would not be reflected in dynamic sequence diagrams automatically.) The sequence diagrams have grown to A3 size paper and i have many of such diagrams which needs correction. Manually moving the operations one by one would involve lots of effort. Could someone kindly suggest a way to overcome this problem?

    Hi, I would like your guidance on how to create classes and their relationships (generalization, association, aggregation and composition) accurately from my USE case diagram (please see below). I am trying to create this class diagram so I can use it to create a simple online PHP application that allows the user to register an account, login and logout, and store, search and retrieve data from a MySQL database. Are my classes correct? Or should I create more classes? And if so, what classes are missing? What relationships should I use when connecting the register, login, logout, search_database and add_to_database to the users? I'm new to design patterns and UML class diagrams but from my understanding, the association relationship relates one object with another object; the aggregation relationship is a special kind of association that allows "a part" to belong to more than one "whole" (e.g. a credit card and its PIN - the PIN class can also be used in a debit card class); and a composition relationship is a special form of aggregation that allows each part to belong to only one whole at a time. I feel like I have left out some classes or something because I just can't seem to find the relationships from my understanding of relationships. Any assistance will be really appreciated.     Refering to this question I asked a while ago: UI functionality modeling languages It looks like there is no good-enough solution. I decided to develop one. (and prepare a set of elements for DIA or something) I'm sure it will require a good insight in peoples' experiences and problems in designing functionally complicated GUIs. I've got some ideas already, but I'd like to hear from You what You'd expect from a GUI functionality modelling language. Clarification: It's functionality modelling, so it's not about where I put a button. It's about objects that have some events binded, and the interface behaviour logic. If You think (just as I do) that UML is far from useful for such purposes - feel free to put Your expectations here. I'll try to meet them.     I have a class diagram that is like this: < Order > (1) CAN HAVE (M) < products > But therefore "Order" has the following: Order_Id Customer_Id Order_date_day Order_date_month Order_date_yeah But I do not know how it would handle the Products? Because, I couldn't have "ProductID" because that would mean that each item in this class would have to have a separate instance for each product (E.g. someone ordered 100 products, but only placed 1 order). Could I have an Product object in class Order? If so, how do you represent that in UML? Thank you

  • Any good class diagram editors out there for Java (not UML)

    I'm looking for an editor that can create class diagrams, similar to the typical UML class diagram, but specifically for java (so using java terminology; instead of terms like "generalization, realization etc", we use the java equivalents "interface, abstract class, extends etc"). I've looked into UML several times, but each time I've been turned off by the shear amount of "stuff" that comes with UML. I just want to be able to model my java classes quickly and intuitively, without getting bogged down by all the cruft that comes with UML. Preferably, it would come with a source reader that can keep the diagram up to date, and with a few nice features like "show only public methods in this class" etc. As well, it would automatically "know" about the classes in the standard java library, and possibly even be able to read classes from jars. Performance is also a big thing for me, I don't like having to wait 2 seconds for a popup menu to appear, or watch the diagram jerk crazily while resizing an element in the model. What do you think, am I asking too much?

Specifically, I'm looking for: Seamless zooming in and out of the data Navigation on both axis A "trace mode" where I can trace the line with the cursor and the value under the cursor is displayed as text.   • Where is the handy designer for setting Permissions and schema diagram designer in a SQL2005 Databas

    I have just installed the GDR RTM version of Visual Studio Team System Database Edition GDR RTM. It all seems to work wonderfully, but I seem to have to edit XML (Database.sqlpermissions) for specify SQL Permissions. Am I missing something? For that matter where is the schema diagram tool? I understand GDR exposes alot for extending the Database Edition components, so am I supposed to wait for third party extensions to provide the diagram tool and permissions designer?

    Hi im a little confused by this diagram http://www.b-eye-network.com/images/content/i030ht0104.gif (Last diagram in the article) 1 - In the "ACCOUNTING ENTRY" table it shows "DebitEntry" and "CreditEntry" i) is this two column or ii) is this two rows of data? or iii) is it two separate tables on its own, Acounting_entry_credit and Accounting_entry_debit?     Hey guys, in Visual Studio 2010 I can point to a bunch of classes and create a diagram. However, the diagram by default doesn't recognize any relationships between the classes, except inheritance and implementations. Is there a way, ideally by using Attributes, to define class and property relationships and associations in such a way that it is picked up by a new Class Diagram automatically? cheers!
