  • Discover all websites that point to an IP address

    - by crn
Our company owns over 60 domains and a few external IP addresses (several domains share an external IP address). How do I discover all the domains that use a particular IP address (e.g. 69.x.x.7) without going through the DNS information on each domain? The particular webserver is running Windows 2003 and IIS6. Thanks, in advance, for your help!

  • Chrome Equivalent of %s address bar trick in Firefox

    - by notbrain
I was curious if there was an equivalent technique in Chrome to do address bar param string replacement like you can do in Firefox. If you create a bookmark and put a %s in the bookmark URL/address part, and set a keyword for the bookmark, you can do things like URL: http://php.net/%s Keyword: php Type in browser: php fopen End up at: http://php.net/fopen Is this making its way into Chrome or is there a way to do it?

  • Find if IP Address is in use

    - by WedTM
I'm trying to find if an IP address is in use. I don't want to rely on ping, as most of our hosts have ICMP echo and reply turned off. I'm looking for something that mimics window's "IP Address Conflict" detection. (How does this mechanism do it?)

  • Getting error "No address associated with hostname: mod_unique_id: unable to find IPv4 address of "z

    - by Eedoh
Hello. I'm trying to set up video surveillance system using ip cameras and zonealarm on Arch Linux. I set up fixed ip address, I've managed to get streams from cameras, etc. However, after restart of the machine, I can not start apache again. I checked configuration of rc.conf, and saw that static ip configuration has been deleted, and also secondary nameserver in resolv.conf. Tried to re-write these with correct parameters, but now with no effect. This is tail of my /var/log/httpd/error_log file, after /etc/rc.d/httpd restart attempt [Fri Jan 29 04:20:45 2010] [alert] (EAI 5)No address associated with hostname: mod_unique_id: unable to find IPv4 address of "zmhost" Configuration failed Anybody has an idea how could I fix this??

  • what is the point of return in ruby?

    - by Sam
What is the difference between return and just putting a variable such as the following: return def write_code(number_of_errors) if number_of_errors > 1 mood = "WTF" else mood = "No Problem" end mood end no return def write_code(number_of_errors) if number_of_errors > 1 mood = "WTF" else mood = puts "No Problem" end return mood end

  • Is return an operator or a function?

    - by eSKay
This is too basic I think, but how do both of these work? return true; // 1 and return (true); // 2 Similar: sizeof, exit My guess: If return was a function, 1 would be erroneous. So, return should be a unary operator that can also take in brackets... pretty much like unary minus: -5 and -(5), both are okay. Is that what it is - a unary operator?

  • Return an empty C-String

    - by Evorlor
Simple Question: How do you return an empty C-String with as little code as possible? I have code that needs to return an empty char*. I am looking for something along the lines of return "";. I know there are several ways to do this, but I am looking for the most efficient way possible. Using return ""; gives warning: conversion from string literal to 'char *' is deprecated [-Wdeprecated-writable-strings] Thanks!

  • What about IPv4 class E?

    - by Luc
IPv4's class E network (240.0.0.0/4) contains 268 million addresses. Despite the advertisements for IPv6, claiming we have ran out of address space, this block ironically still claims to be "Reserved for future use". Why hasn't this block been freed up yet? Of course, IPv6 should be promoted instead of freeing up more IPv4 addresses, but we've seen the address shortage coming for years. There has even been a time they weren't sure there was enough time to develop IPv6 before we would run out of addresses. Why didn't they free up this block already? And is there any chance these addresses will be used in the future, like when IPv6 is fairly widely implemented but we still need IPv4 for backwards compatibility? It will be phased out regardless, but then ISPs don't have to employ NAT for IPv4 compatibility.

  • const return value and template instantiation

    - by Rimo
From Herb Sutter's GotW #6 Return-by-value should normally be const for non-builtin return types. .... Note: Lakos (pg. 618) argues against returning const value, and notes that it is redundant for builtins anyway (for example, returning "const int"), which he notes may interfere with template instantiation. .... While Sutter seems to disagree on whether to return a const value or non-const value when returning an object of a non-built type by value with Lakos, he generally agrees that returning a const value of a built-in type (e.g const int) is not a good idea. While I understand why that is useless because the return value cannot be modified as it is an rvalue, I cannot find an example of how that might interfere with template instantiation. Please give me an example of how having a const qualifier for a return type might interfere with template instantiation.

  • Multiple return points in scala closure/anonymous function

    - by Debilski
As far as I understand it, there is no way in Scala to have multiple return points in an anonymous function, i.e. someList.map((i) => { if (i%2 == 0) return i // the early return allows me to avoid the else clause doMoreStuffAndReturnSomething(i) }) raises an error: return outside method definition. (And if it weren’t to raise that, the code would not work as I’d like it to work.) One workaround I could thing of would be the following someList.map({ def f(i: Int):Int = { if (i%2 == 0) return i doMoreStuffAndReturnSomething(i) } f }) however, I’d like to know if there is another ‘accepted’ way of doing this. Maybe a possibility to go without a name for the inner function? (A use case would be to emulate some valued continue construct inside the loop.)

  • Get annotations of return type in Java

    - by Apropos
I'm using Spring MVC and am using aspects to advise my controllers. I'm running into one issue: controllers that return a value annotated with the @ResponseBody type. How are you able to find the annotations applied to the return type? @Around("myPointcut()") private Object checkAnnotations(ProceedingJoinPoint pjp) throws Throwable { Object result = pjp.proceed(); Method method = ((MethodSignature)pjp.getSignature()).getMethod(); System.out.println("Checking return type annotations."); for(Annotation annotation : method.getReturnType().getAnnotations()){ System.out.println(annotation.toString()); } System.out.println("Checking annotations on returned object."); for(Annotation annotation : result.getClass().getAnnotations()){ System.out.println(annotation.toString()); } return result; } Unfortunately, neither of these methods seem to have the desired effect. I can retrieve annotations on the type of object being returned, but not the ones being added at return time.

  • GDB disas question about address values

  • Windows Server: specifying the default IP address when NIC has multiple addresses

    - by Cédric Boivin
I have a Windows Server which has ~10 IP addresses statically bound. The problem is I don't know how to specify the default IP address. Sometimes when I assign a new address to the NIC, the default IP address changes with the last IP entered in the advanced IP configuration on the NIC. This has the effect (since I use NAT) that the outgoing public IP changes too. Even though this problem is currently on Windows Server 2008, I've had the same problem with a Windows Server 2003. How can you set the default IP address on a NIC when it has multiple IP addresses bound? I remark something. • How to assign foo.example.com to one IP address and example.com to a different one?

    - by Guillaume Pierre
Say that I have a domain name called example.com and two server located at 2 different IP addresses: 1.2.3.4 and 6.7.8.9. How could I assign example.com to 1.2.3.4 and the subdomain foo.example.com to 6.7.8.9? [EDIT] I did try to put a A record linking from @ to the first IP address and from foo.example.com to the second IP address, as illustrated below: And I did configure a vhosts called foo.example.com on my server at IP address 2. The @ record works. But after 3 hours waiting for the result (DNS delay), nothing happened with foo.example.com, which link to nothing. Why?

  • Is is good or bad to have the email address of a domain's registrant on the same domain?

    - by Eric Nguyen
Say I own domain abc.com. I think it's a bad idea to use [email protected] as the registrant's (myself) email address. This will cause problems when I need to transfer the domain to another registrar e.g. GoDaddy. The new registrar will then try to send email to [email protected] which is unlikely to function normally since the DNS settings are undergoing changes. So I believe it's best to use email address independent from the domains I own as the registrant's email address. (Isn't it the practice Google Apps is using?) Have I missed something here or am I right?

Goal is to bond an IP address which is a multicast address (224.224.x.y) to a given MAC address (which is NOT the calculated one from the multicast IP address : 01:00:5e:X:Y:Z It used to work with Windows XP (was it a bug that used to be "perfect" for my needs?), but Windows 7/8/8.1 forces the MAC address to the calculated one instead of letting me put what I want! (http://nettools.aqwnet.com/ipmaccalc/ipmaccalc.php shows MAC address calculation for multicast IP address) Thus I'm doing the following. Listing existing mappings: netsh.exe interface ip show neighbors "Ethernet" Interface 12 : Ethernet Internet address Physical address Type 224.0.0.22 01-00-5e-XX-YY-ZZ static Then adding my interface mapping manually: netsh.exe interface ip add neighbors "Ethernet" "224.xxx.yyy.zzz" "00-80-EE-UU-VV-WW" Finally, listing again my mappings: netsh.exe interface ip show neighbors "Ethernet" Interface 12 : Ethernet Internet address Physical address Type 224.0.0.22 01-00-5e-XX-YY-ZZ static **224.xxx.yyy.zzz 01-00-5e-UU-VV-WW static** As you can see, the MAC Address of the second entry (the one I just made) has been dynamically replaced by the calculated MAC Address corresponding to my IP Address... Calculation is done as follow (and displayed in hexa): UU=(xxx-128) VV=yyy WW=zzz But I don't want that behavior. My IP address and MAC address cannot be changed, and I must associate them accurately. Does anybody know how to disable MAC address substitution/calculation in netsh? Thanks, Olivier.

  • Spoofing MAC address to match other device

At my school, there is a WiFi network where you can register up to one computer or phone. I, however, wish to connect my phone and my computer (Windows 7). I talked to an IT guy at my school and he told me that it registers the computer based on the MAC address (For the record, he's the one who suggested I spoof). So, I got my phone's MAC and now I want to change my computer's address to the same thing. I found this link and this video, so I know how to change it. I was wondering if that would run into problems because they are normally on the same network at home.
