  • Apache reverse proxy: no protocol handler

I am trying to configure a reverse proxy with apache, but I am getting a No protocol handler was valid for the URL error, which I do not understand. This is the relevant configuration of apache: ProxyRequests Off ProxyPreserveHost On <Proxy *> Order deny, allow Allow from all </Proxy> ProxyPass /gonvaled/examples/jsonrpc/output/services/ http://localhost:8000/services/ ProxyPassReverse /gonvaled/examples/jsonrpc/output/services/ http://localhost:8000/services/ The requests is reaching apache as: POST /gonvaled/examples/jsonrpc/output/services/EchoService.py HTTP/1.1 And they should be forwarded to my internal service, located at: 0.0.0.0:8000/services/EchoService.py These are the logs: ==> /var/log/apache2/error.log <== [Wed Jun 20 02:05:20 2012] [debug] proxy_util.c(1506): [client 127.0.0.1] proxy: http: found worker http://localhost:8000/services/ for http://localhost:8000/services/EchoService.py, referer: http://localhost/gonvaled/examples/jsonrpc/output/JSONRPCExample.safari.cache.html [Wed Jun 20 02:05:20 2012] [debug] mod_proxy.c(998): Running scheme http handler (attempt 0) [Wed Jun 20 02:05:20 2012] [warn] proxy: No protocol handler was valid for the URL /gonvaled/examples/jsonrpc/output/services/EchoService.py. • Configure J2EE Agent with OpenAM behind Reverse Proxy

    - by Troy
I have a reverse proxy with two SSL enabled NamedVirtualHosts on different ports. Both containers on each internal host is GF 2.1.1. Proxy configuration as follows: Proxy URL -> Internal URL https://apps.mydomain.com -> http://apps.internal.com https://secure.otherdomain.com:8080/ -> http://secure.internal.com I initially tried configuring the J2EE agent in OpenAM and the web app container to use the internal URLs (I appended /openam and /agentapp respectively). However, I received the following errors when trying to access a secured application such as https://apps.mydomain.com/webapp. java.lang.RuntimeException: Failed to load configuration: ApplicationSSOTokenProvider.getApplicationSSOToken(): Unable to get Application SSO Token A second attempt gives the following error: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Could not initialize class com.sun.identity.agents.filter.AmFilterManager Along with these in the agent debug.out: ERROR: Failed to obtain auth service url from server: null://null:null ... SiteMonitor: Site URL http://secure.internal.com/openam/namingservice is not available. If I specify the server and agent urls using the proxy urls, then the agent appears to be working and I am redirected to the OpenAM login page. However, the goto in the URL is http://apps.mydomain.com/webapp instead of https://apps.mydomain.com/webapp (missing https). So after authentication, the redirect fails. Now I could possibly get by with mod_rewrite, but it feels hackish and I really want to know what's going on. Any ideas?

  • Assets not served - Apache Reverse proxy - Diaspora

    - by Matt
I have succeeded in installing Diaspora* on my subdomain diaspora.mattaydin.com. I have VPS running CentOS 5.7 with Plesk installed. By means of an vhost.conf and vhost_ssl.conf file I, (with the help of another gentleman) have managed to reverse proxy the app. vhost.conf: ServerName diaspora.mattaydin.com ServerAlias *.diaspora.mattaydin.com <Directory /home/diaspora/diaspora/public> Options -Includes -ExecCGI </Directory> DocumentRoot /home/diaspora/diaspora/public RedirectPermanent / https://diaspora.mattaydin.com vhost_ssl.conf ServerName diaspora.mattaydin.com DocumentRoot /home/diaspora/diaspora/public RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{DOCUMENT_ROOT}/%{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteRule ^/(.*)$ balancer://upstream%{REQUEST_URI} [P,QSA,L] <Proxy balancer://upstream> BalancerMember http://127.0.0.1:3000/ </Proxy> ProxyRequests Off ProxyVia On ProxyPreserveHost On RequestHeader set X_FORWARDED_PROTO https <Proxy *> Order allow, deny Allow from all </Proxy> <Directory /home/diaspora/diaspora/public> Options -Includes -ExecCGI Allow from all AllowOverride all Options +Indexes </Directory> DocumentRoot /home/diaspora/diaspora/public Basically it's working. However, the only thing that's not working are the assets. The do not get loaded not the server, as seen on diaspora.mattaydin.com The error messages I get in the access_ssl.log are a lot of: 11/Dec/2012:19:04:05 +0100] "GET /robots.txt HTTP/1.1" 404 2811 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_8_2) AppleWebKit/536.26.17 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/6.0.2 Safari/536.26.17" The error messages I get from diaspora's log file is: Started GET "//assets/branding/logo_large.png" for 77.250.99.193 at 2012-12-11 20:13:11 +0100 ActionController::RoutingError (No route matches [GET] "/assets/branding/logo_large.png"): lib/rack/chrome_frame.rb:39:in call' lib/unicorn_killer.rb:35:incall' Hope you guys can help me out. If you need anything else please let me know Thanks in advance, Matt

  • nginx reverse proxy to apache mod_wsgi doesn't work

    - by user11243
I'm trying to run a django site with apache mod-wsgi with nginx as the front-end to reverse proxy into apache. In my Apache ports.conf file: NameVirtualHost 192.168.0.1:7000 Listen 192.168.0.1:7000 <VirtualHost 192.168.0.1:7000> DocumentRoot /var/apps/example/ ServerName example.com WSGIDaemonProcess example WSGIProcessGroup example Alias /m/ /var/apps/example/forum/skins/ Alias /upfiles/ /var/apps/example/forum/upfiles/ <Directory /var/apps/example/forum/skins> Order deny, allow Allow from all </Directory> WSGIScriptAlias / /var/apps/example/django.wsgi </VirtualHost> In my nginx config: server { listen 80; server_name example.com; location / { include /usr/local/nginx/conf/proxy.conf; proxy_pass http://192.168.0.1:7000; proxy_redirect default; root /var/apps/example/forum/skins/; } #error_page 404 /404.html; # redirect server error pages to the static page /50x.html error_page 500 502 503 504 /50x.html; location = /50x.html { root html; } } After restarting both apache and nginx, nothing works, example.com simply hangs or serves index.html in my /var/www/ folder. I'd appreciate any advice to point me in the right direction. I've tried several tutorials online to no avail.

  • My Reverse DNS PTR record seems to be right, but I'm still getting bouncing email

    - by johnbr
Hello, I have a service (statusme.com) where I let people know (for example) that their kid's soccer games are cancelled because of bad weather. We send out emails to the people who have registered. I have a second server as a backup, (vps.statusme.com) and I've set up the application to send some of the email through the second server. But I'm getting complaints from various recipient SMTP servers that the email is considered spam. So I did some investigating, and it appears that they think my reverse DNS record isn't correct. But when I look at it via various rDNS websites and instructions I found elsewhere on ServerFault, everything looks correct: jb$ host -t a vps.statusme.com 8.8.8.8 Using domain server: Name: 8.8.8.8 Address: 8.8.8.8#53 Aliases: vps.statusme.com has address 66.84.8.246 jb$ host -t ptr 246.8.84.66.in-addr.arpa 8.8.8.8 Using domain server: Name: 8.8.8.8 Address: 8.8.8.8#53 Aliases: 246.8.84.66.in-addr.arpa domain name pointer vps.statusme.com. I'm confused about what I'm doing wrong. Thanks for any suggestions.

  • Squid reverse proxy array - siblings not communicating with each other

    - by V. Romanov
I want to set up 2 squid servers to act as reverse proxy and cache for a webserver on our intranet. The load balancing will be done with DNS round robin or just different mappings for different clients. The thing is, I want both servers to try and contact each other to see if they have the object required in cache before contacting the webserver for it (the network that servers the webserver is the bottleneck and I'm trying to eliminate it) Both squids are configured the same, here are the relevant config lines : acl dvr1_cache_it_best_tv_com dstdomain dvr1.cache.it.best-tv.com acl squid1_it_best_tv_com dstdomain squid1.it.best-tv.com acl squid2_it_best_tv_com dstdomain squid2.it.best-tv.com http_access allow dvr1_cache_it_best_tv_com http_access allow squid1_it_best_tv_com http_access allow squid2_it_best_tv_com http_access allow all http_port 8081 accel defaultsite=dvr1.cache.it.best-tv.com cache_peer dvr1.origin.it.best-tv.com parent 80 0 no-query originserver name=Proxy_dvr1_origin_it_best_tv_com cache_peer squid1.it.best-tv.com sibling 8081 3130 weight=10 name=Proxy_Squid1_it_best_tv_com cache_peer squid2.it.best-tv.com sibling 8081 3130 weight=10 name=Proxy_Squid2_it_best_tv_com cache_peer_access Proxy_dvr1_origin_it_best_tv_com allow dvr1_cache_it_best_tv_com cache_peer_access Proxy_squid1_it_best_tv_com allow squid1_it_best_tv_com cache_peer_access Proxy_squid1_it_best_tv_com allow squid2_it_best_tv_com cache_peer_access Proxy_squid1_it_best_tv_com allow dvr1_cache_it_best_tv_com cache_peer_access Proxy_squid2_it_best_tv_com allow squid1_it_best_tv_com cache_peer_access Proxy_squid2_it_best_tv_com allow squid2_it_best_tv_com cache_peer_access Proxy_squid2_it_best_tv_com allow dvr1_cache_it_best_tv_com just to make it clear - dvr1.cache is the alias for the proxy servers. dvr1.origin is the web server. Both servers work, both serve content and cache it and work fine. However, when I clear the cache on one server and then access it, it gets the content from the parent (DVR1_ORIGIN) instead of going to the sibling squid. What did I configure wrong? Or perhaps I don't understand the architecture correctly? I read the squid manuals but as far as I see i did it all by the book and yet it doesn't work right. Any help will be appreciated!

  • Making application behind reverse proxy aware of https

    - by akaIDIOT
https in tomcat being the hassel it is, I've been trying to get an Axis2 webapp to work behind a reverse proxy for ages now, can't seem to get it to work. The proxying itself works like a charm, but the app fails to generate 'links' (or ports as it concerns SOAP) using https. It would seem I need some way to let Axis2 know it is being accessed through https, even though the actual transport to it is done over http (proxied from localhost). The nginx config that proxies https to localhost:8080: server { listen 443; server_name localhost; ssl on; ssl_certificate /path/to/.pem ssl_certificate_key /path/to/.key; ssl_session_timeout 5m; ssl_protocols SSLv3 TLSv1; ssl_ciphers ALL:!ADH:!EXPORT56:RC4+RSA:+HIGH:+MEDIUM:+LOW:+SSLv3:+EXP; ssl_prefer_server_ciphers on; location / { # force some http-headers (avoid confusing tomcat) proxy_set_header X-Real-IP $remote_addr; proxy_set_header Host $http_host; proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-For $proxy_add_x_forwarded_for; proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-Proto https; # pass requests to local tomcat server listening on default port 8080 proxy_pass http://localhost:8080; } } The proxy itself works fine, the info pages of the webapp work. The problem lies in the ports generated in the .wsdl: <wsdl:service name="WebService"> <wsdl:port name="WebServiceHttpSoap11Endpoint" binding="ns:WebServiceSoap11Binding"> <soap:address location="http://10.10.3.96/axis2/services/WebService.WebServiceHttpSoap11Endpoint/"/> </wsdl:port> <wsdl:port name="WebServiceHttpSoap12Endpoint" binding="ns:WebServiceSoap12Binding"> <soap12:address location="http://10.10.3.96/axis2/services/WebService.WebServiceHttpSoap12Endpoint/"/> </wsdl:port> <wsdl:port name="WebServiceHttpEndpoint" binding="ns:WebServiceHttpBinding"> <http:address location="http://10.10.3.96/axis2/services/WebService.WebServiceHttpEndpoint/"/> </wsdl:port> </wsdl:service> The Host header does its job; it shows 10.10.3.96 in stead of localhost, but as the snippet shows: it says http:// in front of it in stead of https://. My client app can't deal with this... Adding proxyPort and proxyName to the tomcat6 server.xml in the default <Connector> doesn't help; I'm at a loss on how to get this to work properly.

  • Error attempting to log into Redmine through IIS 7.5 Reverse Proxy

    - by dneaster3
I am trying to set up Redmine as a subdirectory of our department's intranet site, and also to rebrand it as "Workflow" using IIS's URL Rewrite extension. I have it "working" in that it will serve the page with all the correct rewrites in both the URL and the HTML code. However, when I try to submit a form (including logging in to redmine), IIS gives me one of the the following errors: Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand. or The specified CGI application encountered an error and the server terminated the process. • what reverse proxy server will direct traffic to healthy servers whose health is based on a result string

    - by joshua paul
what reverse proxy server will direct traffic to healthy servers whose health is based on a result string?? ideally i'd like something like dnsmadeeasy or ultradns - lol - but for reverse proxy i have looked at pound, delegate, ha proxy, squid, varnish, nginx, apache, and cherokee but can't see that they will work - they only test for HTTP result code scenario client request www.aaa.com www.aaa.com is a reverse proxy reverse proxy looks at "test.php" on server 1.aaa.com, 2.aaa.com and 3.aaa.com for result string "OK" if the server is "OK" then proxy requests to them help!

  • How long does a reverse DNS lookup take?

    - by HansA
How long should I expect a reverse lookup take? 100 milliseconds? 1 second? 10 second? 30 seconds? What's your experience? Why? We're debating adding a feature to our server software which would require a reverse DNS lookup each time a client connects. The lookup would be done synchronously, so I'm worried that it could slow connection-times down a lot. I just wanted to hear other people's experience regarding reverse DNS lookup times.

  • nginx: server_name and server_addr wrong with reverse proxy in front of it

    - by user41356
I have stunnel in front of nginx in order to handle ssl. (I'm aware that nginx can handle ssl, but I'm migrating off nginx and this is a necessary step.) Stunnel and nginx are running on the same box. Without stunnel in front of nginx, nginx got the server_addr and server_name as the public ip of the box and the domain of the url I was fetching, respectively. Now with stunnel, nginx thinks the server_addr and server_name are 127.0.0.1 and localhost respectively. This is screwing up a bunch of things. How can I make nginx get (or stunnel send) the correct server_addr and server_name?

  • nginx reverse proxy subdomain is redirecting

    - by holtkampw
    So I have a frontend nginx server which will proxy to several other nginx servers (running Passenger for Rails apps). Here's the part of the frontend nginx config in question: server { listen 80; server_name git.domain.com; access_log /server/domain/log/nginx.access.log; error_log /server/domain/log/nginx_error.log debug; location / { proxy_pass http://127.0.0.1:8020/; proxy_redirect off; proxy_set_header Host $host; proxy_set_header X-Real-IP $remote_addr; proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-For $proxy_add_x_forwarded_for; proxy_max_temp_file_size 0; client_max_body_size 10m; client_body_buffer_size 128k; proxy_connect_timeout 90; proxy_send_timeout 90; proxy_read_timeout 90; proxy_buffer_size 4k; proxy_buffers 4 32k; proxy_busy_buffers_size 64k; proxy_temp_file_write_size 64k; } } server { listen 80; server_name domain.com; access_log /server/domain/log/nginx.access.log; error_log /server/domain/log/nginx_error.log debug; location / { proxy_pass http://127.0.0.1:8000/; proxy_set_header X-Real-IP $remote_addr; proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-For $proxy_add_x_forwarded_for; proxy_set_header Host $http_host; proxy_redirect off; proxy_set_header X_FORWARDED_PROTO https; proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-For $proxy_add_x_forwarded_for; } } Finally here's the backend for git.domain.com: server { listen 8020; #server_name localhost; root /server/gitorious/gitorious/public/; passenger_enabled on; proxy_set_header X-Real-IP $remote_addr; proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-For $proxy_add_x_forwarded_for; proxy_set_header Host $http_host; proxy_redirect off; proxy_set_header X_FORWARDED_PROTO https; proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-For $proxy_add_x_forwarded_for; } So here's the problem. When I type in git.domain.com, my gitorious install will redirect to domain.com. It works perfect there, but it ignores the subdomain. At first I thought it was the server_name construct. I have tried git.domain.com, domain.com, localhost, and currently none. Any ideas?

  • Reverse DNS Lookup from the Command Line

I'd like to get a list of all domains pointed to a certain IP address. Is there a way to get this information from the command line? Nothing like "host", "nslookup" or "dig -x". Those return the hostname of the IP address which, while helpful, is only part of what I want returned.

  • nginx reverse ssl proxy with multiple subdomains

    - by BrianM
I'm trying to locate a high level configuration example for my current situation. We have a wildcard SSL certificate for multiple subdomains which are on several internal IIS servers. site1.example.com (X.X.X.194) -> IISServer01:8081 site2.example.com (X.X.X.194) -> IISServer01:8082 site3.example.com (X.X.X.194) -> IISServer02:8083 I am looking to handle the incoming SSL traffic through one server entry and then pass on the specific domain to the internal IIS application. It seems I have 2 options: Code a location section for each subdomain (seems messy from the examples I have found) Forward the unencrypted traffic back to the same nginx server configured with different server entries for each subdomain hostname. (At least this appears to be an option). My ultimate goal is to consolidate much of our SSL traffic to go through nginx so we can use HAProxy to load balance servers. Will approach #2 work within nginx if I properly setup the proxy_set_header entries? I envision something along the lines of this within my final config file (using approach #2): server { listen Y.Y.Y.174:443; #Internally routed IP address server_name *.example.com; proxy_pass http://Y.Y.Y.174:8081; } server { listen Y.Y.Y.174:8081; server_name site1.example.com; -- NORMAL CONFIG ENTRIES -- proxy_pass http://IISServer01:8081; } server { listen Y.Y.Y.174:8081; server_name site2.example.com; -- NORMAL CONFIG ENTRIES -- proxy_pass http://IISServer01:8082; } server { listen Y.Y.Y.174:8081; server_name site3.example.com; -- NORMAL CONFIG ENTRIES -- proxy_pass http://IISServer02:8083; } This seems like a way, but I'm not sure if it's the best way. Am I missing a simpler approach to this?

  • Apache reverse proxy POST 403

    - by qkslvrwolf
I am trying to get Jira and Stash to talk to each other via a Trusted Application link. The setup, currently, looks like this: Jira - http - Jira Proxy -https- stash proxy -http- stash. Jira and the Jira proxy are on the same machine. The Jira Proxy is showing 403 Forbidden for POST requests from the stash server. It works (or seems to ) for everything else. I contend that since we're seeing 403 forbiddens in the access log for apache, Jira is never seeing the request. Why is apache forbidding posts, and how do I fix it? Note that the IPs for both Stash and the Stash Proxy are in the "trusted host" section. • Reverse proxy apache to weblogic problem

    - by Zlatoroh
Hello I have apache 2.2 server and welogic 11g running on web server. Apache is set for revers proxy on port 8080, weblogic serves two web pages and it's on port :7001 first page: localhost:7001/e-SPP/app second page: localhost:7001/e-sprejem/app I would like to access this two pages with apache like so: localhost:8080/e-SPP/app localhost:8080/e-sprejem/app Listen 8080 ServerName localhost:8080 <Proxy *> Order deny, allow Allow from all </Proxy> ProxyRequests Off ProxyPreserveHost On RewriteEngine On <Location /e-SPP/app> ProxyPass localhost:7001/e-SPP/app ProxyPassReverse localhost:7001/e-SPP/app </Location> <Location /e-sprejem/app> ProxyPass localhost:7001/e-sprejem/app ProxyPassReverse localhost:7001/e-sprejem/app </Location> This configuration opens my pages bust it's black anw white because CSS and JS aren't loaded! Path to the css over proxy looks like this : localhost:8080/e-SPP/css/style.css which doesn't open the CSS if I change the port to 7001 the it works !!! localhost:7001/e-SPP/css/style.css What should I do that CSS and JS are loaded? Interesting is favicon which is being loaded http://localhost:8080/e-SPP/images/new/favicon.gif Thanks for your help!

  • Application Request Routing (ARR) - Single Server Reverse Proxy(ish) Setup

    - by Justin
I have 1 webserver that has two .NET apps running on it. These are set up on the server as app1.mydomain.com and app2.mydomain.com. I would like to be able to take any request going to app1.mydomain.com/subfolder and rewrite it to app2.mydomain.com/subfolder using ARR. I am having difficulty getting this to work on a single server, and all the ARR examples on the net seem to imply that I require another server dedicated to ARR sitting in front of the two web servers. Is what I am attempting to do possible on one web server, and if so how?! Thanks all.

  • simple apache2 reverse proxy setup not working

    - by Nick
I know what proxy is (very high level), it's just I have never set up one, and it feels like I might be missing some big fat point here. My setup: client server (static IP), runs apache on port 80 proxy (has 2 network cards, one is on the clients network, the other one with a static IP on the server network), runs apache on port 80 I am trying to configure these three machines so that when client requests: http://proxy/machine1 It gets served server's pages at server root URL, i.e. http://server/ I can access client pages just fine. However, when I try accessing a page from the client machine, it simply gets redirected to server's IP address, which it clearly can't access since they are not on the same network: ... <meta http-equiv="REFRESH" content="0;url=http://server/machine1"></meta> <title>Redirect</title> ... My apache2 config is: LoadModule proxy_module /modules/mod_proxy.so LoadModule proxy_http_module /modules/mod_proxy_http.so ProxyRequests off <Proxy *> Order Allow,Deny Allow from all </Proxy> ProxyPass /machine1 http://server:80 <Location /machine1> ProxyPassReverse / </Location> What gives? Thanks!

  • Apache Reverse Proxy server and SSL NTLM SharePoint

    - by user50211
Hi, I'm trying to set Apache as proxy server to an internal SharePoint server. I have previously configured Apache to run as a proxy server to export internal webpages and web applications. However, the Sharepoint is using SSL and NTLM authentication, and this is new to me :( I have tried many options, the traffic seems to be forwared as I get the authentication popup window, but when I insert the user/pass, I get back to the same popup window. Anybody has configured Apache to do so? Here is a part of my httpd.conf: <VirtualHost *:443> ServerName repository.out.com SSLProxyEngine On RequestHeader set Front-End-Https "On" ProxyRequests Off ProxyPreserveHost On ProxyPass / https://sharepoint.in.com ProxyPassReverse / https://sharepoint.in.com CacheDisable * SetEnv force-proxy-request-1.0 1 SetEnv proxy-nokeepalive 1 ErrorLog logs/jlanza_log CustomLog logs/jlanza_log common </VirtualHost>

  • Reverse proxy 502 bad gateway

    - by Brian Graham
I have setup a subdomain to proxy my plesk panel, but when saving pages I am getting 502 Bad Gateway error instead of a completion message. I am running CentOS 6. Here is my vhost.conf configuration for http://plesk.domain.tld/: RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{SERVER_PORT} ^80$ RewriteRule $ https://plesk.domain.tld/ [R,L] Here is my vhost_ssl.conf configuration for https://plesk.domain.tld/: SSLProxyEngine On <Location /> ProxyPass https://localhost:8443/ ProxyPassReverse https://localhost:8443/ </Location> I have more than enough (and I have even checked) RAM, CPU and HDD. There are no spikes. As well, the posted information does save, it just errors when trying to show me a "This information has been saved." green/red block. Here is the relevent error from /var/log/nginx/error.log (IP/Host Filtered): 2014/05/29 02:42:41 [error] 8046#0: *402 upstream prematurely closed connection while reading response header from upstream, client: 173.238.XX.XX, server: plesk.domain.tld, request: "POST /smb/web/edit HTTP/1.1", upstream: "https://198.100.XX.XX:7081/smb/web/edit", host: "plesk.domain.tld", referrer: "https://plesk.domain.tld/smb/web/edit"

  • Reverse proxy a directory through IIS 6 with HTTPS

    - by John P
I have an asp.net based website running on IIS 6 that needs to incorporate a java application running on the same server on a different port. The requests will be coming in via https and I need to invisibly (preserving the https session) proxy domain.com/ over to domain.com:8080/. Does IIS have a built-in mechanism for doing this? If not, are there any reliable free/open source ISAPI extensions that allow it? Thanks in advance

  • Nginx, as reverse proxy, could not proxy_pass to a domain pointing to the local JBOSS

    - by larryzhao
    My environment is Ubuntu 12.04, Nginx 1.20, and Torquebox 2.0.3 which is actually JBoss AS 7. I have two app deployed on Torquebox, it listens to 8080 and have different hostnames, app1.mydomain.com and app2.mydomain.com. I added 127.0.0.1 app1.mydomain.com and 127.0.0.1 app2.mydomain.com in /etc/hosts then I curl app1.mydomain.com:8080 and curl app2.mydomain.com:8080 both have correct return. Then I go to my nginx. I would like nginx to pass the visit to www.app1.com to app1.mydomain.com:8080, so I have the following configuration: # primary server - proxypass to torquebox server { listen 80; server_name www.app1.com; access_log off; error_log off; # proxy to Torquebox location / { proxy_pass http://app1.mydomain:8080/; proxy_redirect off; proxy_set_header Host $host; proxy_set_header X-Real-IP $remote_addr; proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-For $proxy_add_x_forwarded_for; proxy_max_temp_file_size 0; client_max_body_size 10m; client_body_buffer_size 128k; proxy_connect_timeout 90; proxy_send_timeout 90; proxy_read_timeout 90; proxy_buffer_size 4k; proxy_buffers 4 32k; proxy_busy_buffers_size 64k; proxy_temp_file_write_size 64k; } } But it doesn't work. curl www.app1.com returns nothing. And if I visit www.app1.com in Safari, the http return code is 404. I don't know why, need help.
