• WordPress: can't access WordPress.com and other external sites?

  Hello, I recently started a WordPress blog using hosting at MyDomain (they offer the application "natively"). The blog works fine, however I have two plugins I can't seem to install correctly. First, the WordPress.com Stats plugin requires the API Key. When I input it, I get the following message: Error from last API Key attempt: Your blog was unable to connect to WordPress.com. Please ask your host for help. (transport error - could not open socket: 110 Connection timed out) Second, the Akismet plugin is not configured. When I go to Akismet page to insert my API key, it has the following message: There was a problem connecting to the Akismet server. Please check your server configuration. I assume the two issues are related... I approached my hosting provider about the subject and all they said is that they don't support WordPress, only provide means to install it. To clarify, up to this point I have only been able to install plugins that don't require an API key. What can I do to diagnose the problem and fix it? As a work-around, are there comparable stats and anti-spam plugins that don't require an API key? Many thanks.

  Whenever I put my component into COM+ and call CoCreateInstance() on the client the following happens: the runtime instantiates the objecs (calls IClassFactory::CreateInstance()) the runtime calls QueryInterface() for the interface specified in teh CoCreateInstance() call the runtime calls QueryInterface() for IdentityUnmarshal interface ({0000001b-0000-0000-c000-000000000046}) The only thing I can find is the declaration in comdef.h that there exists IdentityUnmarshal interface with that interface id. Is there any more information on it?

• Salesforce - Update/Upsert custom object entry

  UPDATE: It's working as expected just needed to pass the correct Id, DUH!~ I have a custom object in salesforce, kind of like the comments section on a case for example. When you add a new comment it has a date/time stamp for that entry, I wanted to update the previous case comment date/time stamp when a new case comment is created. • Salesforce/PHP - outbound messages (SOAP) - memory limit issue

  I'm using Salesforce to send outbound messages (via SOAP) to another server. The server can process about 8 messages at a time, but will not send back the ACK file if the SOAP request contains more than 8 messages. SF can send up to 100 outbound messages in 1 SOAP request and I think this is causing a memory issue with PHP. If I process the outbound messages 1 by 1 they all go through fine, I can even do 8 at a time with no issues. But larger sets are not working. ERROR in SF: org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: Premature end of file Looking in the HTTP error logs I see that the incoming SOAP message looks to be getting cut of which throws a PHP warning stating: Premature end of data in tag ... PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function getAttribute() on a non-object This leads me to believe that PHP is having a memory issue and can not parse the incoming message due to it's size. I was thinking I could just set: ini_set('memory_limit', '64M'); But would this be the correct approach? Is there a way I could set this to increase with the incoming SOAP request dynamically? • CVV Code For Authorize.com using osCommerce

  Hi I need to add a CVV code for verifying credit cards upon check out on my osCommerece shopping cart. I think this will involve a code for the authorize.net php and the checkout processing php but not sure. Found this great write up, but it is only for the authorize.net php and it doesn't create a filed for the CVV to be keyed. Also it throws an error with the 'echo validate.' Can't seem to find anything in any forums for osCommerce or any place out. Hoping someone here will have some knowledge. Thanks.

• redirect traffic to www.example.com through DNS from example.com

  Hello, I have a bit of a unique problem. for the domain (example.com) I want people to go to www.example.com however I'm also throwing GSLB into the mix. for GSLB the devices(one in each datacenter) need to be the nameserver for portion of the domain that they are going to answer for(www.example.com) so I know I can make the NS record of www.example.com just fine and have it point to each GSLB device. However that only helps for www.example.com NOT example.com. I don't want to make my root NS of example.com my GSLB as my enterprise managed DNS provider does an excellent job of all DNS stuff. any ideas?

  Our web app lies at bar.com/myapp We'll use the HTTP Host Header to work out the username So need to transparently rewrite http://foo.bar.com to http://bar.com/myapp using the URL Rewrite module in IIS But still need to be able to go to www.bar.com and see the company website and webmail.bar.com, etc.

• How do I request a single random row from a force.com database in SOQL?

  Total row-count is in the range 10k-100k rows. Can I use RAND() on force.com? Unfortunately although all the rows have a unique numeric identifier, there are many gaps, and I'd often want to select a random row from a filtered subset anyway. I suspect there's no particularly efficient way to do this, but is it possible at all? Ultimately all I want to do is to extract one row from a table (or a subset based on specific filter criteria) at random. If force.com doesn't let me select a random row, then can I query the rows to select from, and assign sequential IDs to all the rows, say 1-1,035, and then select a random number in that range locally, say 349, and then get row 349?

  Heres my saga - I'm trying to link http://www.example.com to my shopping cart on https://secure.example.com, but it doesnt seem to be linking correctly. Using firecookie, it does indeed share the same cookie between site and cart, and the cookies domain is 'example.com'. I'm pretty sure though that if it was working right, all my utmz, utma values etc should be copied over and remain the same, but they're changing. I've copied all the params that are being sent to google analytics and pasted then below. It shows what is happening from my homepage, to my product page, then into my cart all the way to the page before ordering. ( I can't practically test the final page myself without buying something, so I'll post the code from our confirmation page later if needed.) • 12.04: Apt-Get Update: failure to fetch; can't connect to any sources

  I realize there are dozens of "apt-get update: failure to fetch" questions (I read through all I could find), but my present circumstance is unique to 12.04 and it affects all sources; not just launchpad. Additionally, I've tried several different servers in Europe and the U.S. as well as the "main server" (wherever that is) and they all yield the same result: I can't connect to any software sources. Additionally, I'm fairly certain the problem stems from the upgrade from 11.10-12.04 I performed this morning, as updates worked immediately before. Updates from the Update Manager worked fine and I could download some things (mutter) from the Software Center without incident, which makes me think I can connect to some subset of the Ubuntu servers (however, several other Ubuntu servers--like extras--and some canonical servers are listed as 'unable to connect'). Also the question is not for any specific kind of application (in fact the intention is to know which type of applications/domains can fit into which of the cloud slab -SaaS PaaS IaaS). My understanding so far is: IaaS: Raw Hardware (Processors, Networks, Storage). PaaS: OS, System Softwares, Development Framework, Virtual Machines. SaaS: Software Applications. It would be great if Stackoverflower's can share their understanding and experiences of cloud computing concept. EDIT: Ok, I will put it in more specific way - Amazon EC2: You don't have control over hardware layer. But you can take your choice of OS image, Dev Framework (.NET, J2EE, LAMP) and Application and put it on EC2 hardware. Can you deploy an applications built with Google App Engine or Azure on EC2? Google App Engine: You don't have control over hardware and OS and you get a specific Dev Framework to build your application. Can you take any existing Java or Python application and port it to GAE? Or vice versa, can applications that were built on GAE be taken out of GAE and ported to any Application Server like Websphere or Weblogic?   Firstly, this question requires a bit of introduction so please bear with me. The high level is that I am connecting to a outside web service which will return some XML to my apex controller. The idea is that I want to display the XML returned into a nice tabular format in a VisualForce page. Now currently I am using the XMLdom utility class (developed by SF for XML functions) to map this data into a custom object "reportTable" which contains a list of "row" custom objects. The reason I am building it out this way is because I don't know how many elements will be in each row, nor the number of rows. • Getting past Salesforce trigger governors

  I'm trying to write an "after update" trigger that does a batch update on all child records of the record that has just been updated. This needs to be able to handle 15k+ child records at a time. Unfortunately, the limit appears to be 100, which is so far below my needs it's not even close to acceptable. I haven't tried splitting the records into batches of 100 each, since this will still put me at a cap of 10k updates per trigger execution. (Maybe I could just daisy-chain triggers together? ugh.) Does anyone know what series of hoops I can jump through to overcome yet another ridiculously short-sighted limitation by this awful development "platform"?
