• C# Getting Just Date From Timestamp

  If I have a timestamp in the form: yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss:mmm How can I just extract the date from the timestamp? For instance, if a timestamp reads: "2010-05-18 08:36:52:236" what is the best way to just get 2010-05-18 from it. What I'm trying to do is isolate the date portion of the timestamp, define a custom time for it to create a new time stamp. Is there a more efficient way to define the time of the timestamp without first taking out the date, and then adding a new time?

  Hey everyone, I'm pretty familiar with SQL syntax (via MySQL) and am just getting my feet wet with C# and SQL server. I currently have a .sdf database on my C:\ drive and want to connect to it in C#. I added the database as a data source and now need help figuring out how to get data from the database in my C# application.   Hi SO, I'm just getting started with winforms in C# and things are going well, except I want to learn how to do something like: if user presses "proceed" button, it will run some code, and change the form, so that there are more options available to the user on the form. • Inserting Rows Without Selecting Anyting?

  Hello SO, I'm working in VBA and want to insert a row in a specific location without selecting it. The issue I'm having is that after the row is selected, the spreadsheet is scrolled down to that row when the script is finished running. I want to be able to do this without the spreadsheet being scrolled down to the inserted row. Rows(i & ":" & i).Select ActiveCell.EntireRow.Insert I don't want to select A1 to get to the top.

  Ok SO, I have a user table and want to define groups of users together. The best solution I have for this is to create three database tables as follows: UserTable user_id user_name UserGroupLink group_id member_id GroupInfo group_id group_name This method keeps the member and group information separate. This is just my way of thinking. Is there a better way to do this? Also, what is a good naming convention for tables that link two other tables?

• Inserting Strings Without Trailing Spaces SQL

  I have a database with a field named Field1 that has 100 nchars per entry. Each time I add a value, it is stored as: "value (100-ValueLength Spaces) " So Basically each stored value has a string of spaces after it. This is getting to be an issue when I try doing: if (value == "Example") because of all of the empty spaces after the string. How can I get it so the stored values don't have all of these trailing spaces?

After publishing newer versions of software, I see the new versions in my publish folder, but when I open the application, it checks for updates, and does nothing (even though there are new files in the publish folder).   Hello SO, I have a slight issue with some code I'm writing if(parameter == 1) { var linq = from a in db.table select a; } else { var linq = from a in db.table where a.id = 1 select a; } foreach(var b in linq) { ... } So basically what's going on is that the variable "linq" is different depending on the value of "parameter". When I try to loop through "linq" with my foreach loop, I get an error about how linq doesn't exist in the current context. What is the best way to work around this type of issue?
