  • Incoming traceroute blocked by ufw

    - by Tobias Timpe
    One of my Proxmox VMs running Ubuntu 13.04 won't accept incoming trace routes while ufw is enabled. What command do give ufw to allow incoming traceroute(6)s? The following shows up in the syslog with ufw enabled: 50:15:15:aa:ae:8d:7d:e4:7a:97:08:00 SRC=79.236.233.97 DST=78.46.101.252 LEN=52 TOS=0x00 PREC=0x00 TTL=1 ID=33400 PROTO=UDP SPT=63757 DPT=33466 LEN=32 Nov 4 16:20:36 web kernel: [8078158.260409] [UFW BLOCK] IN=eth0 OUT= MAC=00:50:56:15:15:aa:ae:8d:7d:e4:7a:97:08:00 SRC=79.236.233.97 DST=78.46.101.252 LEN=52 TOS=0x00 PREC=0x00 TTL=1 ID=33401 PROTO=UDP SPT=63757 DPT=33467 LEN=32 Nov 4 16:20:41 web kernel: [8078163.262626] [UFW BLOCK] IN=eth0 OUT= MAC=00:50:56:15:15:aa:ae:8d:7d:e4:7a:97:08:00 SRC=79.236.233.97 DST=78.46.101.252 LEN=52 TOS=0x00 PREC=0x00 TTL=2 ID=33402 PROTO=UDP SPT=63757 DPT=33468 LEN=32 Nov 4 16:20:46 web kernel: [8078168.262927] [UFW BLOCK] IN=eth0 OUT= MAC=00:50:56:15:15:aa:ae:8d:7d:e4:7a:97:08:00 SRC=79.236.233.97 DST=78.46.101.252 LEN=52 TOS=0x00 PREC=0x00 TTL=2 ID=33403 PROTO=UDP SPT=63757 DPT=33469 LEN=32 Nov 4 16:20:51 web kernel: [8078173.260521] [UFW BLOCK] IN=eth0 OUT= MAC=00:50:56:15:15:aa:ae:8d:7d:e4:7a:97:08:00 SRC=79.236.233.97 DST=78.46.101.252 LEN=52 TOS=0x00 PREC=0x00 TTL=2 ID=33404 PROTO=UDP SPT=63757 DPT=33470 LEN=32 And the trace route just ends in starts after the Proxmox host machine. • Apache ProxyPass with SSL

    - by BBonifield
I have a QA setup that consists of multiple internal development servers and one world-accessible provisioning machine that is setup to proxy pass the web traffic. Everything works fine for non-SSL requests, but I'm having a hard time getting the SSL logic working as well. Here's a few example vhost blocks. <VirtualHost 192.168.168.101:443> ProxyPreserveHost On SSLProxyEngine On ProxyPass / https://192.168.168.111/ ServerName dev1.site.com </VirtualHost> <VirtualHost 192.168.168.101:80> ProxyPreserveHost On ProxyPass / http://192.168.168.111/ ServerName dev1.site.com </VirtualHost> <VirtualHost 192.168.168.101:443> ProxyPreserveHost On SSLProxyEngine On ProxyPass / https://192.168.168.111/ ServerName dev2.site.com </VirtualHost> <VirtualHost 192.168.168.101:80> ProxyPreserveHost On ProxyPass / http://192.168.168.111/ ServerName dev2.site.com </VirtualHost> I end up seeing the following error in the provisioner's error log. [Fri Jan 28 12:50:59 2011] [warn] [client 1.2.3.4] proxy: no HTTP 0.9 request (with no host line) on incoming request and preserve host set forcing hostname to be dev1.site.com for uri / As well as the following entry in the destination QA machine's access log. 192.168.168.101 - - [22/Feb/2011:08:34:56 -0600] "\x16\x03\x01 / HTTP/1.1" 301 326 "-" "-"

  • Failure connecting to Dell MD3200i from XenServer 6.2 pool

    - by Tom Sparrow
This question also asked at Citrix Forums http://forums.citrix.com/thread.jspa?threadID=332289 I have a MD3200i that is currently working fine with my Xen5.6 pool, but I cannot get a connection to the new 6.2 pool to work. I previously had a problem with a 6.0 upgrade (which is why the old pool is still on 5.6), but rolled back rather than fix it as it wasn't urgent at the time. This install is on new machines - I tried 6.1 first (which had the same problems) then 6.2 was released the second day after installation so I switched to that. I've not installed anything from the Dell resource DVD at this point - I can't find anything saying I should, and everything I have read suggests it shouldn't be necessary. I can ping all 8 ip addresses from both servers in the pool, iscsiadm -m discovery works fine, I can login to the nodes and iscsiadm reports the sessions active correctly. I've added the required sections to multipath.conf, but multipath -ll reports DM multipath kernel driver not loaded immediately after boot. The following is a log of a test session immediately after boot. root@xen3 ~]# iscsiadm -m node --loginall=all Logging in to [iface: default, target: • Cisco PIX 8.0.4, static address mapping not working?

    - by Bill
upgrading a working Pix running 5.3.1 to 8.0.4. The memory/IOS upgrade went fine, but the 8.0.4 configuration is not quite working 100%. The 5.3.1 config on which it was based is working fine. Basically, I have three networks (inside, outside, dmz) with some addresses on the dmz statically mapped to outside addresses. The problem seems to be that those addresses can't send or receive traffic from the outside (Internet.) Stuff on the DMZ that does not have a static mapping seems to work fine. So, basically: Inside - outside: works Inside - DMZ: works DMZ - inside: works, where the rules allow it DMZ (non-static) - outside: works But: DMZ (static) - outside: fails Outside - DMZ: fails (So, say, udp 1194 traffic to .102, http to .104) I suspect there's something I'm missing with the nat/global section of the config, but can't for the life of me figure out what. • Unable to ping local machines by name in Windows 7

    - by aardvarkk
I'm having a strange (and persistent!) problem with pinging local machines on my network by name. I believe my machine (Windows 7 64-bit) is the only one having this issue. This is over a wireless connection. As an example, consider a device on my network by the name of WDTVLiveHub. It's a Western Digital Live Hub (surprise!). If I go to my router's DHCP Client Table in the browser (my router is a WRT400N), I see this entry: WDTVLiveHub 192.168.1.101 Great. So I try to ping that IP address: ping 192.168.1.101 Pinging 192.168.1.101 with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 192.168.1.101: bytes=32 time=9ms TTL=64 Reply from 192.168.1.101: bytes=32 time=16ms TTL=64 Reply from 192.168.1.101: bytes=32 time=16ms TTL=64 Reply from 192.168.1.101: bytes=32 time=16ms TTL=64 Ping statistics for 192.168.1.101: Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss), Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 9ms, Maximum = 16ms, Average = 14ms OK, still looking good. Now I try to ping it by name: ping WDTVLiveHub Ping request could not find host WDTVLiveHub. Please check the name and try again. From what I've read, this implies a problem with DNS servers and host name lookups. Interestingly, if I type the following: pathping 192.168.1.101 I get this output: Tracing route to WDTVLIVEHUB [192.168.1.101] over a maximum of 30 hops: 0 Scotty [192.168.1.103] 1 WDTVLIVEHUB [192.168.1.101] Computing statistics for 25 seconds... Scotty is obviously the name of my local machine. The biggest problem is that my mapped network drives have to be done by IP, and then any time the router assigns new IP addresses to those devices, all of my network shares break again. Stinks! Would love some assistance on possible solutions. I've tried all of this netsh catalog resetting and that didn't seem to fix anything at all. Would love an explanation of what's going wrong, too, rather than blindly resetting things! Thanks!

  • OpenVZ multiple networks on CTs

    - by picca
I have Hardware Node (HN) which has 2 physical interfaces (eth0, eth1). I'm playing with OpenVZ and want to let my containers (CTs) have access to both of those interfaces. I'm using basic configuration - venet. CTs are fine to access eth0 (public interface). But I can't get CTs to get access to eth1 (private network). I tried: # on HN vzctl set 101 --ipadd 192.168.1.101 --save vzctl enter 101 ping 192.168.1.2 # no response here ifconfig # on CT returns lo (127.0.0.1), venet0 (127.0.0.1), venet0:0 (95.168.xxx.xxx), venet0:1 (192.168.1.101) I believe that the main problem is that all packets flows through eth0 on HN (figured out using tcpdump). So the problem might be in routes on HN. Or is my logic here all wrong? I just need access to both interfaces (networks) on HN from CTs. Nothing complicated.

• How to talk to a virtual host on a guest OS?

    - by Bernd
Let's say there is a host OS (Mac OS X) and a virtual machine running Ubuntu as guest OS. The guest OS has the IP 192.186.56.101 and some virtual hosts, e.g. ubuntu.server So, how to really map a request to the virtual host ubuntu.server on the guest OS? I tried: Configure the host OS in /etc/hosts to map ubuntu.server to 192.186.56.101 On the guest OS we have the trouble. It accepts the request for 192.186.56.101 which is not ubuntu.server and therefor the ubuntu.server virtual host will never be requested. Just the localhost on the guest OS. It might surely be possible to simply then use 192.168.56.101. But this would only work for one host per guest OS. Any idea? Or is there a bug in my train of thoughts?

  • forwardfor information is missing

    - by FAFA
I use following configuration to load balance https connections, using haproxy 1.4.8. SSL offloading is done by apache. listen ssl_to_waf 192.168.101.54:443 mode tcp balance roundrobin option ssl-hello-chk server wafA 192.168.101.61:444 check listen ssl_from_waf 192.168.101.61:445 balance roundrobin option forwardfor server webA 192.168.101.46:80 check For HTTP requests this works great, requests are distributed to my Apache servers just fine. But for HTTPS request, I lose the "forwardfor" information. I need to save the client IP address. How can I use HAproxy to load balance across a number of SSL servers, allowing those servers to know the client's IP address?

  • Samba access works with IP address only

    - by Sebastian Rittau
I added a Debian etch host (hostname: webserver, IP address: 192.168.101.2) running Samba to a Windows network with a Windows 2003 PDC (IP address 192.168.101.3). The Samba server exports a public guest share, called "Intranet". The server shows up fine in the network, but trying to click on it produces an error dialog, stating I don't have the necessary permissions. So does entering \webserver manually and using \webserver\internet states that the path does not exist. Interestingly, accessing the share by IP address (\192.168.101.2 or \192.168.101.2\intranet) works fine. DNS is configured correctly, and "smbclient //webserver/intranet" on another Linux client works fine. One complicating issue is that the webserver is only a VMware virtual machine running on PDC server. Here is our smb.conf: [global] workgroup = Foobar server string = Webserver wins support = yes ; commenting out these wins server = 192.168.101.3 ; two lines has no effect dns proxy = no guest account = nobody [... snipped some unrelated bits, like logging ...] security = share [... snipped some password-related things ...] domain master = no [intranet] comment = Intranet path = /srv/webserver/contents browseable = yes guest ok = yes guest only = yes read only = yes create mask = 0775 directory mask = 0775

  • OpenVPN + iptables / NAT routing

    - by Mikeage
Hi, I'm trying to set up an OpenVPN VPN, which will carry some (but not all) traffic from the clients to the internet via the OpenVPN server. My OpenVPN server has a public IP on eth0, and is using tap0 to create a local network, 192.168.2.x. I have a client which connects from local IP 192.168.1.101 and gets VPN IP 192.168.2.3. On the server, I ran: iptables -A INPUT -i tap+ -j ACCEPT iptables -A FORWARD -i tap+ -j ACCEPT iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -s 192.168.2.0/24 -o eth0 -j MASQUERADE On the client, the default remains to route via 192.168.1.1. In order to point it to 192.168.2.1 for HTTP, I ran ip rule add fwmark 0x50 table 200 ip route add table 200 default via 192.168.2.1 iptables -t mangle -A OUTPUT -j MARK -p tcp --dport 80 --set-mark 80 Now, if I try accessing a website on the client (say, wget google.com), it just hangs there. On the server, I can see $ sudo tcpdump -n -i tap0 tcpdump: verbose output suppressed, use -v or -vv for full protocol decode listening on tap0, link-type EN10MB (Ethernet), capture size 96 bytes 05:39:07.928358 IP 192.168.1.101.34941 > 74.125.67.100.80: S 4254520618:4254520618(0) win 5840 <mss 1334,sackOK,timestamp 558838 0,nop,wscale 5> 05:39:10.751921 IP 192.168.1.101.34941 > 74.125.67.100.80: S 4254520618:4254520618(0) win 5840 <mss 1334,sackOK,timestamp 559588 0,nop,wscale 5> Where 74.125.67.100 is the IP it gets for google.com . Why isn't the MASQUERADE working? More precisely, I see that the source showing up as 192.168.1.101 -- shouldn't there be something to indicate that it came from the VPN?

  • SDP media field format

    - by TacB0sS
Hey, I would like to create a SDP media field with its attributes, and there are a few things I don't understand. I've skimmed and read the relevant RFC and I understand most of what each field means, but what I don't understand is how do I derive from the Audio/Video Format of the JMF, which parameters of the format compose the rtpmap registry entries I need to use. I see many times the fields m=audio 12548 RTP/AVP 0 8 101 a=rtpmap:0 PCMU/8000 a=rtpmap:8 PCMA/8000 a=rtpmap:101 telephone-event/8000 a=fmtp:101 0-16 a=silenceSupp:off - - - - a=ptime:20 a=sendrecv these are received from the pbx server I'm connecting to, what do they mean in the terms of the JMF audio format properties. (I do understand these are standard audio format commonly used in telecommunication) UPDATE: I was more wondering about the format parameter '0 8 101' at the end of m=audio 12548 RTP/AVP 0 8 101 Thanks in advance, Adam Zehavi.

  • How to allow remote connections to Flask?

    - by Ilya Smagin
Inside the system, running on virtual machine, I can access the running server at 127.0.0.1:5000. Although the 'remote' address of the vm is 192.168.56.101 (ping and ssh work fine), I cannot access the server with 192.168.50.101:5000 neither from the virtual machine nor from the local one. I guess there's something preventing remote connections. Here's /etc/network/interfaces: auto eth1 iface eth1 inet static address 192.168.56.101 netmask 255.255.255.0 ufw is inactive. How do I fix this problem?

  • how do I paste text to a line by line text filter like awk, without having stdin echo to the screen?

    - by Barton Chittenden
I have a text in an email on a windows box that looks something like this: 100 some random text 101 some more random text 102 lots of random text, all different 103 lots of random text, all the same I want to extract the numbers, i.e. the first word on each line. I've got a terminal running bash open on my Linux box... If these were in a text file, I would do this: awk '{print $1}' mytextfile.txt I would like to paste these in, and get my numbers out, without creating a temp file. my naive first attempt looked like this: $ awk '{print $1}' 100 some random text 100 101 some more random text 101 102 lots of random text, all different 103 lots of random text, all the same 102 103 The buffering of stdin and stdout make a hash of this. I wouldn't mind if stdin all printed first, followed by all of stdout; this is what would happen if I were to paste into 'sort' for example, but awk and sed are a different story. a little more thought gave me this: open two terminals. Create a fifo file. Read from the fifo on one terminal, write to it on another. This does in fact work, but I'm lazy. I don't want to open a second terminal. Is there a way in the shell that I can hide the text echoed to the screen when I'm passing it in to a pipe, so that I paste this: 100 some random text 101 some more random text 102 lots of random text, all different 103 lots of random text, all the same but see this? $ awk '{print $1}' 100 101 102 103

  • Can't access shared drive when connecting over VPN

    - by evolvd
I can ping all network devices but it doesn't seem that DNS is resolving their hostnames. ipconfig/ all is showing that I am pointing to the correct dns server. I can "ping "dnsname"" and it will resolve but it wont resolve any other names. Split tunnel is set up so outside DNS is resolving fine So one issue might be DNS but I have the IP address of the server share so I figure I could just get to it that way. example: \10.0.0.1\ well I can't get to it that way either and I get "the specified network name is no longer available" I can ping it but I can't open the share. • PHP While Loops from Arrays

    - by Michael
    I have a table that contains members names and a field with multiple ID numbers. I want to create a query that returns results where any values in the ID fields overlap with any values in the array. For example: lastname: Smith firstname: John id: 101, 103 I have Array #1 with the values 101, 102, 103 I want the query to output all members who have the values 101 or 102 or 103 listed in their id field with multiple ids listed. Array ( [0] => 101 [1] => 102 [2] => 103 ) $sql="SELECT firstname, lastname, id FROM members WHERE id LIKE '%".$array_num_1."%'"; $result=mysql_query($sql); while ($rows=mysql_fetch_array($result)) { echo $rows['lastname'].', '.$rows['firstname'].'-'.$rows['id']; }

  • jquery array: find elements that appear twice in the array

    - by tsiger
    For a markup like this: <div id="set1"> <div id="100">a div</div> <div id="101">another div</div> <div id="102">another div 2</div> <div id="120">same div</div> </div> <div id="set2"> <div id="105">a different div> <div id="101">another div</div> <div id="110">more divs</div> <div id="120">same div</div> </div> As you can see both #set1 and #set2 contain 2 divs with the same id (101, 120). Is it possible somehow with jQuery to find the common elements and add a class to the divs in #set1 that have the same id with divs in #set2? In other words after the script run the above code would look like this: <div id="set1"> <div id="100">a div</div> <div id="101" class="added">another div</div> <div id="102">another div 2</div> <div id="120" class="added">same div</div> </div> <div id="set2"> <div id="105">a different div> <div id="101">another div</div> <div id="110">more divs</div> <div id="120">same div</div> </div>

  • Optimize master-detail insert statements

    - by Dave Jarvis
Quest After a day of running (against nearly 1 GB of data), a set of statements are tumbling down to 40 inserts per second. I am looking to increase that by an order of magnitude or two. SQL Code The code to insert the information comes in two parts: a master record and detail records. The master record: INSERT INTO MONTH_REF (DISTRICT_ID, STATION_ID, CATEGORY_ID, YEAR, MONTH) VALUES ('101', '0066', '010', 1984, 07); The detail records: INSERT INTO DAILY (MONTH_REF_ID, AMOUNT, DAILY_FLAG_ID, DAY) VALUES ((SELECT ID FROM MONTH_REF M WHERE M.DISTRICT_ID = '101' AND M.STATION_ID = '0066' AND M.CAT EGORY_ID = '010' AND M.YEAR = 1984 AND M.MONTH = 07), 0, ' ', 1); INSERT INTO DAILY (MONTH_REF_ID, AMOUNT, DAILY_FLAG_ID, DAY) VALUES ((SELECT ID FROM MONTH_REF M WHERE M.DISTRICT_ID = '101' AND M.STATION_ID = '0066' AND M.CAT EGORY_ID = '010' AND M.YEAR = 1984 AND M.MONTH = 07), 0.5, ' ', 2); INSERT INTO DAILY (MONTH_REF_ID, AMOUNT, DAILY_FLAG_ID, DAY) VALUES ((SELECT ID FROM MONTH_REF M WHERE M.DISTRICT_ID = '101' AND M.STATION_ID = '0066' AND M.CAT EGORY_ID = '010' AND M.YEAR = 1984 AND M.MONTH = 07), 0, 'T', 3); Proposed Solution INSERT INTO MONTH_REF (DISTRICT_ID, STATION_ID, CATEGORY_ID, YEAR, MONTH) VALUES ('101', '0066', '010', 1984, 07); SET @month_ref_id := (SELECT LAST_INSERT_ID()); INSERT INTO DAILY (MONTH_REF_ID, AMOUNT, DAILY_FLAG_ID, DAY) VALUES (@month_ref_id, 0, ' ', 1); INSERT INTO DAILY (MONTH_REF_ID, AMOUNT, DAILY_FLAG_ID, DAY) VALUES (@month_ref_id, 0.5, ' ', 2); INSERT INTO DAILY (MONTH_REF_ID, AMOUNT, DAILY_FLAG_ID, DAY) VALUES (@month_ref_id, 0, 'T', 3); Constraints The MONTH_REF table has an AUTO_INCREMENT primary key and is indexed on it. The DAILY table has no index and no primary key. A primary key can be added to the DAILY table, if it would help. Question Is there a more efficient way to execute the (billion or so) insert statements than the proposed solution? Thank you!
