  When i created my (server08/IIS7) server's SSL certificate I mistakenly defined the common name to be 'myDomain.com' instead of 'www.myDomain.com', meaning that https://www.myDomain.com comes up untrusted. I understand that I can create a server redirect to correct the problem but I don't see where/how to do that from IIS's server manager. thx

• Mercurial (hg) commit only certain files

  Hi I'm trying to commit only certain files with hg. Because of of hg having auto-add whenever I try to commit a change it wants to commit all files. But I don't want that because certain files are not "ready" yet. There is hg commit -I thefile.foo, but this is only for one file. The better way for me would be if I can turn off auto-add as in git. Is this possible? thx

  i have a perl script dhcpmanip.pl which contain this line: system "hostapd /etc/hostapd-1.0/hostapd/hostapd.conf " it's a command to start hostapd!and i get this error : Insecure $ENV{PATH} while running setuid at /var/www/cgi-bin/dhcpmanip.pl line 46 After searching on the net i realised that i should accord root permission to www-data user (apache user) then i tried to modify the file /etc/sudoers by inserting this line : www-data ALL=NOPASSWD: /var/www/cgi-bin/dhcpmanip.pl but it still not working...does anyone have any idea about how solving this problem??thx alot

  How can I automatically zip a group of files into multiple zip files (say, 2mb in size for each file), and that each zip file is a stand-alone zip file? (i.e. not mult-volume zip files, that you can't lost any one of the files, otherwise you can't unzip) Is there any tools available to do so?   Hi, I was wondering the steps I can take to change the localhost name to a test development domain name like "website.dev" on Win7 x64 ? Currently, when my test website builds its assigned to 127.0.0.1:81 but I want this to instead have a name like "website.dev" that is accessible on my local network ?   Yesterday, I read couple of chapters on ASP.NET Ajax,and jQuery from my ASP.NET 4.0 book and I found those frameworks pretty interesting and decide to learn more about it. Today, I borrow some books from library on AJAX and Javascript. It seems ASP.NET ajax is different from Ajax and jQuery seems like the "new" javascript. Is that means I can skip javascript and learn jQUERY directly? On the other hand, the Ajax(non asp.net) book I borrow from library seems apply to the client side web programming only and looks quite difference from what I learned from ASP.NET AJAX. If I'm a ASP.NET developer I guess I should stick with ASP.NET AJAX instead of client side AJAX right? What about PHP? Is there a "PHP AJAX" similar to ASP.NET AJAX?   Hi i just installed ubuntu 12.10 on my ssd(picture below) and i set up my home directory to the 1 TB disc(picture below). I want in general use the ssd as my root folder as u can see, and install only the apps which are necessary. Games and other stuff goes to the 1 TB disc, but this disc shows me in gparted a usage of 14 GB on a freshly install, whats wrong? What about the ssd, do i have to manually optimize things? thx Alex PS: What if i want to install a Game to my home folder, i heard sth. of a symbol link, how to do that?

  After just having upgraded to 11.10, I wonder how i can change what happens when I double click a window title bar. I had it configured to roll up (I cannot remember the phrase in English, in German it was "einrollen", i guess) which was found in the appearence menu as far as a I remember. The solution proposed at What happened to "Roll up" option in Preferences/Window/Title bar Action? doesnt work for me insofar as toggle-shade minimizes the window with a roll-up animation, and shade alone will maximize the window after rolling it up. • Skyrim Nexus Mods on Xbox 360 by use of dawnguard?

  i think it's possible i opened up the dawnguard marketplace content and it consists 3 files: dawnguard.bsa < mod dawnguard.esp <- mod installing file. and spa.bin <-dont know where this is for. and it has been confirmed you can use the top 2 files on pc for a not fully functional dawnguard (barely functional to be exact) and if we could just replace or add a few other bsa and esp files to this marketplace content we could get mods up and running on xbox altough i need confirmation on this. I also have no clue where the spa.bin file for is, i need to examine it some further. Further this is adding a few non-distributed Files to marketplace content and wont get you booted from XBL.   I have a newly install ubuntu installed the mysql server. After the basic config, I changed the my.cnf file and commented the bind_address I can start the server and added iptable for 3306. I also add the privileges to mysql server as follow: GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON . TO 'root'@'%' IDENTIFIED BY 'P@ssw0rd' WITH GRANT OPTION; FLUSH PRIVILEGES; exit However after connected from the mysql workbench, it shows no database. But it seems that have login.   Hey, I need some advice/help, now I’ve been writing on this blog for a few years, I don’t blog a great deal in comparison to many of my peers and my blog doesn’t get a massive number of hits, BUT I seem to get a fair share of comments spammers!! I have an image verification on the comments and I have put an Akismet API key into the Geekswithblogs settings, but I still get a bunch of spam comments. They could almost be real, until you see the link going off to some dating site or casino crap. What does everyone do?? Delete them every time?? Moderate comments?? • Monitor blinking

  Hi I have Ubuntu 10.04, my laptop is ASUS k50ij, intel duo t3000, 2gb ram, 320 HDD, intel gma 4500M video card. My problem is that a couple days ago my monitor had start blinking for a few seconds. Then it stops and begins the same behaviour let's say in next 2 hours. What am i missing here? Another funny problem is that when i give more or less brightness to monitor the pop up window shows and giving "Power information: Laptop battery is charged". When my brightness is lower the blinking increases and vice versa. thx for help

• ubuntu broke my windows boot

  I was installing ubuntu on pendrive and once finished I needed to run windows a bit, even though I chose erase and install ON THE PENDRIVE it altered my hdd boot sector When I remove the ubu cd and pendrive it should only boot from hdd (windows) but it gives Error: no such device : blablabla(numerbes and letters) Grub rescue _ If I place the pendrive inside it asks me whether to start windows or linux (windows works here) I need to run windows without the pendrive, how can I remove grub from the hdd and also run ubuntu from the pendrive(once I remove grub from the hdd) || THX ArK, your information help me do wonders! :) || Now... it seems that without grub i can not boot the ubuntu from the pendrive anymore, blank screen and nothing loads(i did check the ubuntu with the grub from the hdd, and everything inside it worked perfectly (except the clock, it didnt find my local hour...) ) New problem: it seems that grub which is now on the pendrive is always asking me whether to boot from windows or ubuntu F*ck of course i want to boot ubuntu otherwise i would stick the pen inside the computer
