    I want to bind the presence of an attribute to a variable in AngularJS. Specifically, sandbox for an iframe. Say I have $myCtrl.allowJavascript as a variable, I want to do: <iframe src="..." sandbox /> Where the sandbox attribute is present when allowJavascript == false, and I want the sandbox attribute to disappear when allowJavascript == true. Does AngularJS have a mechanism for this? The closest thing I could find was here, which basically says "it will just work for certain attributes"--but not for sandbox.

    I have a projects resource that has many tasks. I want to ensure that every task has a project_id by adding validates_presence_of :project_id to the tasks model. However, when creating a new project with tasks, the project_id won't be available until the record saves, therefore I can't use validates_presence_of :project_id. So my question is, how do I validate presence of project_id in the task model?   • Autodetect Presence of CSV Headers in a File

    Short question: How do I automatically detect whether a CSV file has headers in the first row? Details: I've written a small CSV parsing engine that places the data into an object that I can access as (approximately) an in-memory database. The original code was written to parse third-party CSV with a predictable format, but I'd like to be able to use this code more generally. I'm trying to figure out a reliable way to automatically detect the presence of CSV headers, so the script can decide whether to use the first row of the CSV file as keys / column names or start parsing data immediately. Since all I need is a boolean test, I could easily specify an argument after inspecting the CSV file myself, but I'd rather not have to (go go automation). I imagine I'd have to parse the first 3 to ? rows of the CSV file and look for a pattern of some sort to compare against the headers. I'm having nightmares of three particularly bad cases in which: The headers include numeric data for some reason The first few rows (or large portions of the CSV) are null There headers and data look too similar to tell them apart If I can get a "best guess" and have the parser fail with an error or spit out a warning if it can't decide, that's OK. If this is something that's going to be tremendously expensive in terms of time or computation (and take more time than it's supposed to save me) I'll happily scrap the idea and go back to working on "important things". I'm working with PHP, but this strikes me as more of an algorithmic / computational question than something that's implementation-specific. If there's a simple algorithm I can use, great. If you can point me to some relevant theory / discussion, that'd be great, too. If there's a giant library that does natural language processing or 300 different kinds of parsing, I'm not interested.

The best way I have found so far is to write an example input xml file and try to validate that with the xsd. But that doesn't feel like a best practice maneuver. How should I validate a xml schema?

  • jQuery Validate Plugin overwrite my select onChange postback

    Hi, I'm creating this form (.net) where i have a select with a postback, that will trigger a action depending on which option i select. I'm trying to use the jQuery Validate Plugin (plugin website) to validate my form. My problem is, when i validate the form, and my select is marked as invalid, the validation plugin overwrite it's onChange method to make it unmark when i change the value, the thing is that it's deleting my __dopostback from the onchange, making the form 'useless'. Is there a way to the plugin validate my selects without deleting my postback action from the onchange?

    Can anyone provide an algorithm to validate a Singaporean FIN? I know with a Singaporean NRIC I can validate it via modulo 11 and then compare the result to a lookup table but cannot find a similar lookup table for the FIN. I also do not know for sure if the modulo 11 is the correct method to validate. I am aware the government sells a algorithm for $400 but maybe someone knows a cheaper way. Bonus points for c# implementation.

    I'm doing form validation using JQuery with the validate and metadata plugins. I'm using the metadata plugin so I can specify the rules and messages inline in the html form instead of in the javascript in the page . I'm getting an error when I try to specify the location of the error message using errorPlacement. (If I specify it in the section it works fine, but not if I specify it inline.) Here's what my html looks like: <input name="list" id="list1" type="checkbox" validate="{required:true, minlength:1, messages:{required:'Please select at least one newsletter.', minlength:'Please select at least one newsletter.'}, errorPlacement: function(error, element) { error.appendTo('#listserror');} }"> As reported by the validate debug function, the error is: "error.appendTo is not a function."     I setup the form validation using jQuery validation plug-in's validate method and I have a submit handler that modifies the input element's value (I use YUI editor and it needs saveHTML() call to copy the iframe's content to the textarea element.). When submitting the form, I want the validator to validate the form after executing my submit handler. But it doesn't execute my submit handler if it is registered after the validate call.     I have a form where a user can toggle receiving funds either via check or via electronic transfer. When they choose either way in a list box, the respective part of the form hides. If they choose electronic transfer only bank info fields show, if they choose via check only address info shows and the bank fields are hidden. Well, since they choose one way or another I want to, not validate for something that is hidden. (Client Side) Is there a way to set xVal to only validate fields that are not visible? We have a bunch of internal webservices. Requests to the CANNOT go through the proxy. If we try to, we get 404 errors since the proxy DNS doesn't know about our internal webservice domains. We generate a few xml files that have to be valid. I'd like to use the provided dtd documents to validate the xml. The dtd urls are outside our network and MUST go through the proxy. Is there any way to validate via dtd through a proxy without using system.net.defaultproxy? If we use defaultproxy, the internal webservices are busted, but the dtd validation works.# Here is what I'm doing to validate the xml right now: public static XDocument ValidateXmlUsingDtd(string xml) { var xrSettings = new XmlReaderSettings { ValidationType = ValidationType.DTD, ProhibitDtd = false }; var sr = new StringReader(xml.Trim()); XmlReader xRead = XmlReader.Create(sr, xrSettings); return XDocument.Load(xRead); } Ideally, there would be some way to assign a proxy to the XmlReader much like you can assign a proxy to the HttpWebRequest object. To me it looks Async such that the call to Validate() would pass and some non deterministic time later the handler would get called with the result/errors. Is that right?     I would like to verify a signed executable. The requirement is to validate that the executable itself is valid and where it came from (probably from the subject of the cert). The cert type is PKCS. I found a similar posting here, http://stackoverflow.com/questions/301024/validate-authenticode-signature-on-exe-c-without-capicom The Microsoft documentation, among others, appears to point to CertGetCertificateChain, but the examples tend to work with certificates that are in a store. Does anyone know how to validate a signed executable using CertGetCertificateChain and related API's?

    I'm using the Jquery validate plugin to validate a multi-step form like this one: http://jquery.bassistance.de/validate/demo/multipart/ Unfortunately, I can't seem to get it to work at all and there is a total lack of documentation to guide me through implemnetation. I think the accordian part of script is firing correctly because the bottom half of the form is being hidden and a 'next' button has been successfuly inserted.     Can you validate just a single property with the Fluent Validation Library, and if so how? I thought this discussion thread from January of 2009 showed me how to do it via the following syntax: validator.Validate(new Person(), x => x.Surname); Unfortunately it doesn't appear this works in the current version of the library. One other thing that led me to believe that validating a single property might be possible is the following quote from Jeremy Skinners' blog post: "Finally, I added the ability to be able to execute some of FluentValidation’s Property Validators without needing to validate the entire object. This means it is now possible to stop the default “A value was required” message from being added to ModelState. " However I do not know if that necessarily means it supports just validating a single property or the fact that you can tell the validation library to stop validating after the first validation error.

  • Hibernate - hibernate.hbm2ddl.auto = validate

    I am interested in how hibernate.hbm2ddl.auto=validate actually works and I am struggling to find comprehensive documentation. We've recently discovered production system was affected by http://opensource.atlassian.com/projects/hibernate/browse/HHH-3532 (Hibernate matches foreign keys on name, rather than signature and so will recreate them for you) and hibernate.hbm2ddl.auto=update is being removed from our next release. I would be quite happy to just get rid of hibernate.hbm2ddl.auto altogether and manage our database ourselves. However, not all my colleagues share this world view and some are keen to add back in hibernate.hbm2ddl.auto=validate. I'm concerned this will hit the same problem and I'm interested in finding more documentation about how this validation actually works. The Hibernate Community Documentation (http://docs.jboss.org/hibernate/core/3.3/reference/en/html/session-configuration.html) really just makes reference to the values. Does anyone have any good documentation pointers, or any real life experience of using validate in a production system?
