  • Extreme Makeover, Phone Edition: Comcasts xfinity

    Mobile Makeover For many companies the first foray into Windows Phone 7 (WP7) may be in porting their existing mobile apps. It is tempting to simply transfer existing functionality, avoiding the additional design costs. Readdressing business needs and taking advantage of the WP7 platform can reduce cost and is essential to a successful re-launch. To better understand the advantage of new development lets examine a conceptual upgrade of Comcasts existing mobile app. Before Comcast has a great mobile app that provides several key features. The ability to browse the lineup using a guide, a client for Comcast email accounts, On Demand gallery, and much more. We will leverage these and build on them using some of the incredible WP7 features.   After With the proliferation of DVRs (Digital Video Recorders) and a variety of media devices (TV, PC, Mobile) content providers are challenged to find creative ways to build their brands. Every client touch point must provide both value added services as well as opportunities for marketing and up-sale; WP7 makes it easy to focus on those opportunities. The new app is an excellent vehicle for presenting Comcasts newly rebranded TV, Voice, and Internet services. These services now fly under the banner of xfinity and have been expanded to provide the best experience for Comcast customers. The Windows Phone 7 app will increase the surface area of this service revolution.   The home menu is simplified and highlights Comcasts Triple Play: Voice, TV, and Internet. The inbox has been replaced with a messages view, and message management is handled by a WP7 hub. The hub presents emails, tweets, and IMs from Comcast and other viewers the user follows on Twitter.  The popular view orders shows based on the users viewing history and current cable package. The first show Glee is both popular and participating in a conceptual co-marketing effort, so it receives prime positioning. The second spot goes to a hit show on a premium channel, in this example HBOs The Pacific, encouraging viewers to upgrade for this premium content. The remaining spots are ordered based on viewing history and popularity. Tapping the play button moves the user to the theatre where they can watch previews or full episodes streaming from Fancast. Tapping an extra presents the user with show details as well as interactive content that may be included as part of co-marketing efforts. Co-Marketing with Dynamic Content The success of Comcasts services are tied to the success of the networks and shows it purveys, making co-marketing efforts essential. In this concept FOX is co-marketing its popular show Glee. A customized panorama is updated with the latest gleeks tweets, streaming HD episodes, and extras featuring photos and video of the cast. If WP7 apps can be dynamically extended with web hosted .xap files, including sandboxed partner experiences would enable interactive features such as the Gleek Peek, in which a viewer can select a character from a panorama to view the actors profile. This dynamic inline experience has a tailored appeal to aspiring creatives and is technically possible with Windows Phone 7.   Summary The conceptual Comcast mobile app for Windows Phone 7 highlights just a few of the incredible experiences and business opportunities that can be unlocked with this latest mobile solution. It is critical that organizations recognize and take full advantage of these new capabilities. Simply porting existing mobile applications does not leverage these powerful tools; re-examining existing applications and upgrading them to Windows Phone 7 will prove essential to the continued growth and success of your brand.Did you know that DotNetSlackers also publishes .net articles written by top known .net Authors?   • Using 3rd Party JavaScript Plugins Hardwired With &lsquo;document.write&rsquo;

    - by ToStringTheory
    Introduction Have you ever had the need to implement a 3rd party JavaScript plugin, but your needs didn’t fit the model and usage defined by the API or documentation of the plugin?  Recently I ran into this issue when I was trying to implement a web snapshot plugin into our site.  To use their plugin, you had to include a script tag to the plugin on their server with an API key.  The second part of the usage was to include a <script> tag around a function call wherever you wanted a snapshot to appear. The Problem When trying to use the service, the images did not display.  I checked a couple of things and didn’t find anything wrong at first..  It wasn’t until I looked at the function that was called by the inline script did I find the issue – a call to the webservice, followed by a call to ‘document.write’ in its callback.  The solution in which I was trying to implement the plugin happened to be in response to an AJAX call after the document had completely loaded.  After the page has loaded, document.write does nothing. My first thought for a solution was to just cache the script from the service, and edit it do something like a return function or callback that I could use to edit the document from.  However, I quickly discovered that there is no way to cache the script from the service, as it had a hash in the function where it would call the server.  The hash was updated every few seconds/minutes, expiring old hashes.  This meant that I wouldn’t be able to edit the script and upload a new version to my server, as the script would not work after a few minutes from originally getting the script from the service. Solution The solution eluded me until I realized that this was JavaScript I was dealing with.  A language designed so that you could do just about anything to any library, function, or object…  At this point, the solution was simple – take control of the document.write function.  Using a buffer variable, and a simple function call, it is eerily simple to perform: //what would have been output to the document var buffer = ""; //store a reference to the real document.write var dw = document.write; //redefine document.write to store to our buffer document.write = function (str) {buffer += str;} //execute the function containing calls to document.write eval('{function encapsulated in <script></script> tags}'); //restore the original document.write function (just in case) document.write = dw; That’s it.  Instead of using the script tags where I wanted to include a snapshot, I called a function passing in the URL to the page I wanted a snapshot of.  After that last line of code, what would have been output to the document (or not in the case of the ajax call) was instead stored in buffer. Conclusion While the solution itself is simple, coming from a background much more footed in the .Net platform, I believe that this is a prime example of always keeping the language that you are working in in mind.  While this may seem obvious at first, as I KNEW I was in JavaScript, I never thought of taking control of the document.write function because I am more accustomed to the .Net world.  I can’t simply replace the functionality of Console.WriteLine.

  • How to do server-side validation using Jqgrid?

    - by Eoghan
    Hi, I'm using jqgrid to display a list of sites and I want to do some server side validation when a site is added or edited. (Form editing rather than inline. Validation needs to be server side for various reasons I won't go into.) I thought the best way would be to check the data via an ajax request when the beforeSubmit event is triggered. However this only seems to work when I'm editing an existing row in the grid - the function isn't called when I add a new row. Have I got my beforeSubmit in the wrong place? Thanks for your help. $("#sites-grid").jqGrid({ url:'/json/sites', datatype: "json", mtype: 'GET', colNames:['Code', 'Name', 'Area', 'Cluster', 'Date Live', 'Status', 'Lat', 'Lng'], colModel :[ {name:'code', index:'code', width:80, align:'left', editable:true}, {name:'name', index:'name', width:250, align:'left', editrules:{required:true}, editable:true}, {name:'area', index:'area', width:60, align:'left', editable:true}, {name:'cluster_id', index:'cluster_id', width:80, align:'right', editrules:{required:true, integer:true}, editable:true, edittype:"select", editoptions:{value:"<?php echo $cluster_options; ?>"}}, {name:'estimated_live_date', index:'estimated_live_date', width:120, align:'left', editable:true, editrules:{required:true}, edittype:"select", editoptions:{value:"<?php echo $this->month_options; ?>"}}, {name:'status', index:'status', width:80, align:'left', editable:true, edittype:"select", editoptions:{value:"Live:Live;Plan:Plan;"}}, {name:'lat', index:'lat', width:140, align:'right', editrules:{required:true}, editable:true}, {name:'lng', index:'lng', width:140, align:'right', editrules:{required:true}, editable:true}, ], height: '300', pager: '#pager-sites', rowNum:30, rowList:[10,30,90], sortname: 'cluster_id', sortorder: 'desc', viewrecords: true, multiselect: false, caption: 'Sites', editurl: '/json/sites' }); $("#sites-grid").jqGrid('navGrid','#pager-sites',{edit:true,add:true,del:true, beforeSubmit : function(postdata, formid) { $.ajax({ url : 'json/validate-site/', data : postdata, dataType : 'json', type : 'post', success : function(data) { alert(data.message); return[data.result, data.message]; } }); }});

  • Title Background Wrapping

    - by laxj11
    Ok, I am pretty experienced at CSS but at this point I am at a loss. I layed out how I want the title to look like in photoshop: however, the closest I can approach it with css is: I need the black background to extend to the edges of the image and padding on the right side of the title. I hope you understand my question! thanks. here is the html: <div class="glossary_image"> <img src="<?php echo $custom_fields['image'][0]; ?>" /> <div class="title"> <h2><?php the_title(); ?></h2> </div> </div> and the css: .glossary_image { position: relative; height: 300px; width: 300px; margin-top:10px; margin-bottom: 10px; } .glossary_image .title { position: absolute; bottom: 0; left: 0; padding: 10px; } .glossary_image .title h2 { display: inline; font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 30px; font-weight:bold; line-height: 35px; color: #fff; text-transform:uppercase; background: #000; }

  • Android Get Image Uri from Camera

  • Geting SelectList to MVC view using AJAX/jQuery

    - by Chris
    Hi all. I have a C# MVC application which is populating a dropdown based on a date selected. Once the date is selected I am sending it to an action via AJAX/jQuery. The action gets a list of items to return for that date. Here is where my problem is. I have done it previously where I render a partial view from the action and pass it the SelectList as the model. However, I really just want to do it inline in the original view, so I'm hoping there is some way I can return the SelectList and from there do some magic Javascript/JQuery to put it into a dropdown. Has anybody ever done this before? If so, what do I on the client end after calling the load() to return the SelectList? I've done something like this previously, when I was just returning a string or other value to be rendered as straight text: $("#returnTripRow").load("/Trip.aspx/GetTripsForGivenDate?date=" + escape(selection)); But I'm not sure how to intercept the data and morph it into am Html.DropDown() call, or equivalent. Any ideas? Thanks, Chris

  • JQuery tools.scrollable conflict with navbar Ajax in CakePHP

    - by user269098
    In our views/layout/default.ctp file we have an element that's used to implement a cascading combo select box which uses JQuery ajax to update the fields. This selector is part of our navbar and is loaded on every page of the site. The default.ctp has these includes in the : <?php echo $html->charset(); ?> <title><?php echo $title_for_layout; //if(Configure::read('debug')) //echo "cake: " . Configure::version(); ?></title> <?php echo $html->css('style'); echo $javascript->link('jquery', true); echo $javascript->link('jquery.form', true); echo $javascript->link('jquery.url', true); echo $javascript->link('navbar', true); echo $html->script('tools.expose-1.0.3.js', array('inline' => false)); //echo $scripts_for_layout; ?> On the views/cars/index.ctp page we have: echo $javascript->link('tools.tabs-1.0.1', true); echo $javascript->link('tools.overlay-1.0.4', true); echo $javascript->link('jquery.form', true); echo $javascript->link('tools.scrollable-1.0.5', true); The issue is that on every other page the navbar combo box selector works. However, on the cars/index.ctp it doesn't work. It only works when we comment out the 'tools.scrollable' include. Any ideas why there is this conflict? We have been stuck on this problem for months...

  • Positioning Layers and text gradients with css

    - by Kenji Crosland
    I'm a CSS newbie trying to get some text gradients going on. I tried this code here but it didn't work for me, most likely because the h1 object is nested within a #header div. I imagine there's something to do with layers that I don't know about. Either I get a gradent block that is in front of everything or it's not appearing at all. In this particular instance this code makes a big gradient bar appear in front of everything: #header { clear:both; float:left; -moz-background-inline-policy:continuous; -moz-background-origin:padding; background:#080E73 url(../images/header-background.png) repeat-x left 0px; width:100%; max-height: 175px; color: #080E73; } #header h1 { margin-bottom: 0; color: #000; position: relative; } #header h1 span { background:url(../images/headline-text.png) repeat-x; display: block; width: 100%; height: 100%; position: absolute; } Here is the HTML (I'm using ruby on rails hence the notation) <div id="header"> <% unless flash[:notice].blank? %> <div id="notice"><%= flash[:notice] %></div> <% end %> <%= image_tag ("header-image.png") %> <h1><span></span>Headline</h1> <strong>Byline</strong> ... #navbar html... </div> I tried playing with z-index but I couldn't come up with any good results. Any ideas?

  • jQuery hover menu not disappearing

    - by Nathan Loding
    I have a basic menu using some nested UL's, which is pretty standard I think. When hovering over an LI from the "root" menu, I want the UL within that LI to display. Move the mouse off or to another LI, it shows that submenu. Move down to the submenu and it stays while you hover over each element. I had it working with a simple jQuery.hover() set, but then I ran into issues. When on a page, the "root" menu item is given a class of 'current-page' and if that class exists, I want it to display that submenu statically after a mouseout. Hope I explained that well enough. I just tossed a variable into the hover functions so on the mouseout it ran a .show() on the current-page's submenu. Easy. Except that when I move the mouse between the individual LI's of the submenu, it changes back to the current-page submenu. So I attempted to add a timer element based on another question here. That made things worse -- now the submenus just don't disappear. Here's my CSS, markup, and JS ... how the heck do I make this work properly? Markup: <div id="menu"> <div id="navbar"> <ul id="firstmenu"> <li> <a href="http://localhost/site/pageone">page one</a> <ul class="submenu"> <li><a href="http://localhost/site/pageone/subone">subone</a></li> <li><a href="http://localhost/site/pageone/subtwo">subtwo</a></li> <li><a href="http://localhost/site/pageone/subthree">subthree</a></li> <li><a href="http://localhost/site/pageone/subfour">subfour</a></li> <li><a href="http://localhost/site/pageone/subfive">subfive</a></li> </ul> </li> <li> <a href="http://localhost/site/pagetwo">barely there</a> <ul class="submenu"> <li><a href="http://localhost/site/pageone/subone">subone</a></li> <li><a href="http://localhost/site/pageone/subtwo">subtwo</a></li> <li><a href="http://localhost/site/pageone/subthree">subthree</a></li> <li><a href="http://localhost/site/pageone/subfour">subfour</a></li> <li><a href="http://localhost/site/pageone/subfive">subfive</a></li> </ul> </li> <li class="current-page"> <a href="http://localhost/site/pagetwo">kith & kin</a> <ul class="submenu"> <li><a href="http://localhost/site/pageone/subone">subone</a></li> <li><a href="http://localhost/site/pageone/subtwo">subtwo</a></li> <li><a href="http://localhost/site/pageone/subthree">subthree</a></li> <li><a href="http://localhost/site/pageone/subfour">subfour</a></li> <li><a href="http://localhost/site/pageone/subfive">subfive</a></li> </ul> </li> <li> <a href="http://localhost/site/pagethree">focal point</a> <ul class="submenu"> <li><a href="http://localhost/site/pageone/subone">subone</a></li> <li><a href="http://localhost/site/pageone/subtwo">subtwo</a></li> <li><a href="http://localhost/site/pageone/subthree">subthree</a></li> <li><a href="http://localhost/site/pageone/subfour">subfour</a></li> <li><a href="http://localhost/site/pageone/subfive">subfive</a></li> </ul> </li> <li> <a href="http://localhost/site/pagefour">products</a> <ul class="submenu"> <li><a href="http://localhost/site/pageone/subone">subone</a></li> <li><a href="http://localhost/site/pageone/subtwo">subtwo</a></li> <li><a href="http://localhost/site/pageone/subthree">subthree</a></li> <li><a href="http://localhost/site/pageone/subfour">subfour</a></li> <li><a href="http://localhost/site/pageone/subfive">subfive</a></li> </ul> </li> <li> <a href="http://localhost/site/pagefive">clients</a> </li> </ul> </div></div> And here's the CSS: #navbar { margin: 0; background: url(../images/down_arrow.png) bottom center no-repeat; } .current-page a { color: white; border-bottom: 1px solid black; } #firstmenu .current-page a { color: white; } #firstmenu li.hover { color: white; background: url(../images/down_arrow.png) bottom center no-repeat; } #firstmenu li.hover a { color: white; border-bottom: 1px solid black; } #firstmenu li ul li.hover { color: white; background: none; } #firstmenu li ul li.hover a { color: white; border-bottom: none; text-decoration: underline; } #firstmenu li ul { width: 900px; color: white; font-size: .8em; margin-top: 3px; padding: 5px; position: absolute; display: none; } #firstmenu li ul li { list-style: none; display: inline; width: auto; } #firstmenu li ul li a { color: white; font-weight: normal; border: none; } .sub-current-page { font-weight: bold; text-decoration: underline; } #firstmenu li ul li.sub-current-page a { font-weight: bold; } And lastly, my not-at-all-working JS (this is in a $(document).ready(), of course): // Initialize some variables var hideSubmenuTimer = null; var current_page; $('.current-page ul:first').show(); // Prep the menu $('#firstmenu li').hover(function() { // Clear the timeout if it exists if(hideSubmenuTimer) { clearTimeout(hideSubmenuTimer); } // Check if there's a current-page class set if($('li.current-page').length > 0) { current_page = $('li.current-page'); } else { current_page = false; } // If there's a current-page class, hide it if(current_page) { current_page.children('ul:first').hide(); } // Show the new submenu $(this).addClass('hover').children('ul:first').show(); }, function(){ // Just in case var self = this; // Clear the timeout if it exists if(hideSubmenuTimer) { clearTimeout(hideSubmenuTimer); } // Check if there's a current-page class set if($('li.current-page').length > 0) { current_page = $('li.current-page'); } else { current_page = false; } // Set a timeout on hiding the submenu hideSubmenuTimer = setTimeout(function() { // Hide the old submenu $(self).removeClass('hover').children('ul').hide(); // If there's a current-page class, show it if(current_page) { current_page.children('ul:first').show(); current_page.css('color', 'white'); } }, 500); }); So what am I doing so wrong? As a side note, I'm using the $('.current-page ul:first').show() because if I gave .current-page any "display" setting in the CSS, it positioned it really weirdly on the page.

  • Django one form for two models

    - by martinthenext
    Hello! I have a ForeignKey relationship between TextPage and Paragraph and my goal is to make front-end TextPage creating/editing form as if it was in ModelAdmin with 'inlines': several field for the TextPage and then a couple of Paragraph instances stacked inline. The problem is that i have no idea about how to validate and save that: @login_required def textpage_add(request): profile = request.user.profile_set.all()[0] if not (profile.is_admin() or profile.is_editor()): raise Http404 PageFormSet = inlineformset_factory(TextPage, Paragraph, extra=5) if request.POST: try: textpageform = TextPageForm(request.POST) # formset = PageFormSet(request.POST) except forms.ValidationError as error: textpageform = TextPageForm() formset = PageFormSet() return render_to_response('textpages/manage.html', { 'formset' : formset, 'textpageform' : textpageform, 'error' : str(error), }, context_instance=RequestContext(request)) # Saving data if textpageform.is_valid() and formset.is_valid(): textpageform.save() formset.save() return HttpResponseRedirect(reverse(consults)) else: textpageform = TextPageForm() formset = PageFormSet() return render_to_response('textpages/manage.html', { 'formset' : formset, 'textpageform' : textpageform, }, context_instance=RequestContext(request)) I know I't a kind of code-monkey style to post code that you don't even expect to work but I wanted to show what I'm trying to accomplish. Here is the relevant part of models.py: class TextPage(models.Model): title = models.CharField(max_length=100) page_sub_category = models.ForeignKey(PageSubCategory, blank=True, null=True) def __unicode__(self): return self.title class Paragraph(models.Model): article = models.ForeignKey(TextPage) title = models.CharField(max_length=100, blank=True, null=True) text = models.TextField(blank=True, null=True) def __unicode__(self): return self.title Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

  • Finding and Printing all Links within a DIV

    - by Abs
    Hello all, I am trying to find all links in a div and then printing those links. I am using the Simple HTML Dom to parse the HTML file. Here is what I have so far, please read the inline comments and let me know where I am going wrong. include('simple_html_dom.php'); $html = file_get_html('tester.html'); $articles = array(); //find the div the div with the id abcde foreach($html->find('#abcde') as $article) { //find all a tags that have a href in the div abcde foreach($article->find('a[href]') as $link){ //if the href contains singer then echo this link if(strstr($link, 'singer')){ echo $link; } } } What currently happens is that the above takes a long time to load (never got it to finish). I printed what it was doing in each loop since it was too long to wait and I find that its going through things I don't need it to! This suggests my code is wrong. The HTML is basically something like this: <div id="abcde"> <!-- lots of html elements --> <!-- lots of a tags --> <a href="singer/tom" /> <img src="image..jpg" /> </a> </div> Thanks all for any help

  • Jeditable Datepicker onblur problem

    - by Shobha Deepthi
    Hi, I am using inline editing using Jeditable and datepicker. I have a column in my table which displays Date as a hyperlink. When I click on this it shows me the datepicker. And when a particular date is selected its updated in the backend and the cell now is updated with the changed value. However, am having problem with onblur event while changing month or years. This event gets triggered when I click on "Prev" or "Next" buttons on the datepicker control. This causes an exception when the date is selected. This works fine as long as the date selected is in the current month. I tried all possible solutions listed here: stackoverflow.com/questions/2007205/jeditable-datepicker-causing-blur-when-changing-month If settimeout the control does not change back to a normal hyperlink on closing the datepicker or on a true onblur event. Here's my code, $.editable.addInputType('datepicker', { element : function(settings, original) { var input = $(''); if (settings.width != 'none') { input.width(settings.width); } if (settings.height != 'none') { input.height(settings.height); } input.attr('autocomplete','off'); $(this).append(input); return(input); }, plugin : function(settings, original) { var form = this; settings.onblur = function(e) { t = setTimeout(function() { original.reset.apply(form, [settings, self]); }, 100); }; $(this).find('input').datepicker({ changeMonth: true, changeYear: true, dateFormat: 'dd-M-y', closeAtTop: true, onSelect: function(dateText) { $(this).hide(); $(form).trigger('submit'); } }); }, submit : function(settings, original) { } }); $(function() { $('.edit_eta').editable('update_must_fix_eta.php', { id: 'bugid', name: 'eta', type: 'datepicker', event: 'click', select : true, width: '50px', onblur:'cancel', cssclass : 'editable', indicator : 'Updating ETA, please wait.', style : 'inherit', submitdata:{version:'4.2(4)',tag:'REL_4_2_4',qstr:1} }); }); I tried hacking jeditable.js as mentioned on this link: http://groups.google.com/group/jquery-dev/browse_thread/thread/265340ea692a2f47 Even this does not help. Any help is appreciated.

  • Detect Autocomplete

    - by Bryan Marble
    Hello, I have some forms that have inlined labels. I have some javascript (jQuery) that detects when focus has changed or when a user is entering text that changes the class so that the inlined label disappears and isn't blocking the user's view of their entered text. The problem I'm having occurs when the browser autocompletes the form. None of the conditions below are triggered so I can't clear out the inlined label. How can I detect the fact that text has been entered via autocomplete so that I can clear the labels? The js I'm using (from http://www.zurb.com/playground/inline-form-labels): $( document ).ready( function() { $( "label.inlined + .input-text" ).each( function( type ) { $( this ).focus( function() { $( this ).prev( "label.inlined" ).addClass( "focus" ); } ); $( this ).keypress( function() { $( this ).prev( "label.inlined" ).addClass( "has-text" ) .removeClass( "focus" ); } ); $( this ).blur( function() { if( $( this ).val() == "" ) { $( this ).prev( "label.inlined" ).removeClass( "has-text" ) .removeClass( "focus" ); } } ); } ); } ); Thanks! Bryan

  • Rails PDF Generation with Prawn in IE7

    - by fluid_chelsea
    I'm using Prawn and Prawnto to generate a PDF in a Ruby on Rails app (Rails version 2.2.2) which works great and generates PDFs happily and sends them to the user to download in Firefox. The problem is in IE7. I have a route set up like so: map.invoice_pdf '/invoices.pdf', :controller => 'invoices', :action => 'index', :format => 'pdf' Which I then have a link like so to call: invoice_pdf_path(:year => params[:year], :month => params[:month], :unpaid_only => params[:unpaid_only]) And the following in my controller: def index params[:year] = default params[:year] params[:month] = default params[:month] params[:page] ||= 1 @invoices = Arobl.find_invoices_for_customer(current_customer.strCustomerID, params) respond_to do |format| format.html{ render :action => 'index' } format.pdf{ prawnto :inline => false, :filename => "#{current_customer.strCustomerID}_invoice.pdf" end In FF this works as expected, when the link is clicked the show action is invoked with a format of .pdf, and responds with the correctly named PDF. When it's hit with IE7 it says that the file or website could not be found, and references "invoices.pdf" instead of the expected customer_id_invoice.pdf filename. Any idea what could be causing this behaviour? Thanks!

  • Remove a hover class from a checkbox once clicked

    - by seangeraghty
    I am trying to remove a hover class applied to a checkbox via CSS once the box has been clicked. Does anyone know how to do this? JSFiddle http://jsfiddle.net/sa9fe/ The checkbox code is: <div> <input type="checkbox" id="checkbox-1-1" class="regular-checkbox flaticon-boxing3" /> <input type="checkbox" id="checkbox-1-2" class="regular-checkbox" /> <input type="checkbox" id="checkbox-1-3" class="regular-checkbox" /> <input type="checkbox" id="checkbox-1-4" class="regular-checkbox" /> </div> And the CSS for the checkbox are as follows: .regular-checkbox { vertical-align: middle; text-align: center; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; align: center; color: #39c; width: 140px; height: 140px; -webkit-border-radius: 6px; -moz-border-radius: 6px; border-radius: 6px; background-color: #fff; border: solid 1px #ccc; -webkit-appearance: none; background-color: #fff; display: inline-block; position: relative;} .regular-checkbox:checked { background-color: #39c; color: #fff !important;} .regular-checkbox:hover { background-color: #f0f7f9;} .regular-checkbox:checked:after { color: #fff; position: absolute; top: 0px; left: 3px; color: #99a1a7; } So any suggestions? Also does anyone know how to change the highlight because at the moment it seems to highlight the edges of the box at a border radius of 3px whereas the boxes I am using are 6px. Thanks Sean (newbie to coding)

  • Dojo addOnLoad, but is Dojo loaded?

    - by adamrice32
    I've encountered what seems like a chicken & egg problem, and have what I think is a logical solution. However, it occurred to me that others must have encountered something similar, so I figured I'd float it out there for the masses. The situation is that I want to use dojo's addOnLoad function to queue up a number of callbacks which should be executed after the DOM has completed rendering on the client side. So what I'm doing is as follows: <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript" src="dojo.xd.js"></script> ... </head> <body> ... <script type="text/javascript"> dojo.addOnLoad( ... ); dojo.addOnLoad( ... ); ... </script> </body> </html> Now, the issue is that I seem to be calling dojo.addOnLoad before the entire Dojo library has been downloaded the browser. This makes sense in a way, because the inline SCRIPT contents should be executed before the entire DOM is loaded (and the normal body onload callback is triggered). My question is this - is my approach sound, or would it make more sense to register a normal/standard body onload JavaScript callback to call a function, which does the same work that each of the dojo.addOnLoads is doing in the SCRIPT block. Of course, this begs the question, why would you ever then use dojo.addOnLoad if you're not guaranteed that the Dojo library will be loaded prior to using the library? Hopefully this situation makes sense to someone other than me. Seems like someone else may have encountered this situation. Thoughts? Best Regards, Adam Rice

  • IE7 CSS bug aligning <img> with text in a <ul>

    - by Artem Russakovskii
    I've been banging my ahead on this IE7 bug for the last few days and it's time to resort to the mind of the crowd. I have the following HTML and CSS: http://beerpla.net/for_www/ie7_test/test.html The goal is to have a <ul>, with each <li> containing a small icon and some text. Multiline text would be aligned to itself and not wrap under the image. I've tried using float:left on the image and a bunch of other things, and finally I thought the position:absolute would work for sure but in IE7 I consistently see the text pop off to the next line and get misaligned with the image: This is what I expect it to look like: I even tried to make the div display:inline which kind of worked but then started wrapping under the image for long lines, so it was no good. zoom:1 also produced a similar effect. I'm at a loss at the moment. This code works fine in all other browsers. IE7 is a special, very special child. Any ideas? Thank you. Edit: If you have IE8, you can emulate IE7 by pressing F12 and then Alt-7.

  • split video (avi/h264) on keyframe

    - by m.sr
    Hallo. I have a big video file. ffmpeg, tcprobe and other tool say, it is an h264-stream in an AVI-container. Now i'd like to cut out small chunks form the video. Problem: The index of the video seam corrupted/destroyed. I kind of fixed this via mplayer -forceidx -saveidx <IndexFile> <BigVideoFile>. The Problem here is, that I'm now stuck with mplayer/mencoder which can use this index file via -loadidx <IndexFile>. I have tried correcting the index like described in man aviindex (mplayer -frames 0 -saveidx mpidx broken.avi ; aviindex -i mpidx -o tcindex ; avimerge -x tcindex -i broken.avi -o fixed.avi), but this didn't fix my video - meaning that most tools i've tested couldn't search in the video file. Problem: I sut out parts of the video via following command: mencoder -loadidx in.idx -ss 8578 -endpos 20 -oac faac -ovc x264 -sws 9 -lavfopts format=mp4 -x264encopts <LotsOfOpts> -of lavf -vf scale=800:-10,harddup in.avi -o out.mp4. Now here the problem is, that some videos are corrupted at the beginning. I think this is because the fact, that i do not necessarily cut at keyframe. Questions: What is the best way to fix the index of an avi "inline" so that every tool can again work as expected with it? How can i split at the keyframes? Is there an mencoder-option for this? Are Keyframes coming in a frequency? How to find out this frequency? (So with a bit of math it should be possible to calculate the next keyframe and cut there) Is ther perhaps some completely other way to split this movie? Doing it by hand is no option, i've to cut out 1000+ chunks ... Thanks a lot!
