  • How do you configure mupen64plus controls?

    - by user99426
I installed mupen64plus from the repositories using Synaptic. I like the emulator (for the most part, a couple of graphics glitches on TLOZ Ocarina of Time), especially its performance on my old machine, but I cannot figure out how to configure the controls for myself. I tried looking at Google Code's guide here but I can't find the file I need to edit and the link with the key ids isn't working, so even if I could find the file I wouldn't be able to change anything. So what I need is a resource with the key ids and where to find the file I need to edit. I am running Ubuntu 12.10 32-bit. 2GB RAM, Intel CORE 2 DUO @ 2.00GHz

  • Keyboad layout: In 13.10, modified symbols do not apply

    - by MPi
I like to tweak my Colemak layout a bit, so I changed /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/us to contain my changes. Sure, they get lost on an upgrade, but that is not very often. After upgrading to 13.10, this does not work anymore. I changed the file, but the changes are not applied. Neither when I use the settings program, nor when I issue setxkbmap 'us(colemak)' directly. Where is this data stored now, is there some kind of cache?

  • KeyTouch remaps the delete key

    - by Robert Gowland
I installed KeyTouch, but it decided that the delete key should be the KeyTouch hot key. So, when I pressed deleted, KeyTouch came up. Next I uninstalled KeyTouch and now the delete key doesn't do anything. Is there any way to remap the delete key to actually delete? Notes: I tried reinstalling KeyTouch, and the same thing happens. KeyTouch does not allow the user to map the delete key. EDIT xev shows keycode 119 when I press the delete key xmodmap shows keycode 119 mapped to Delete NoSymbol Delete running xmodmap -e "keycode 119 = Delete" from the command line does not resolve the issue

  • Enable [command] key to register as something other than just [ctrl]?

    - by gojomo
I'm running 10.04LTS inside VMWare Fusion on a Mac. The [command] key (aka [windows] on many keyboards) is almost always behaving as if it was [ctrl], even though I done anything explicit to request that behavior. In fact, in SystemPreferencesKeyboardLayoutsOptionsAlt/Win key behavior, 'default' is chosen (rather than the 'Control is mapped to Win keys' option). However, choosing other options there do not seem to change the handling of [command], at least not as tested in the SystemPreferenceKeyboard Shortcuts app. (No matter what I've tried, [command]-x is always detected as [Ctrl]-x in that app.) I've tried: various options under SystemPreferencesKeyboardLayoutsOptionsAlt/Win key behavior toggling the VMWare Fusion Preferences KKeyboard & Mouse Key Mappings setup which claims to map '[command]' to '[windows]', and restarting the VM in each position the xmodmap lines suggested at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MappingWindowsKey And yet, it's clear that all Ubuntu apps aren't merging [ctrl] and [command], because in 'Terminal', [shift]-[ctrl]-c will Copy, but [shift]-[command]-c will not. If the [command]/[windows] key was recognized as anything else ('Super', 'Meta', 'Hyper'? I don't care as long as it's not 'Control'), then I could achieve my real goal (which happens to be enabling CMD-based cut/copy/paste in PyCharm, while leaving CTRL-X/etc available for emacs-like bindings). I think any solution which manages to make [command]-x appear as something other than [ctrl]-x in PreferencesKeyboard Shortcuts will probably do the trick.

I am making a game in which a cube travels along a maze with the motive of crossing the maze safely. I have two problems in this. The cube needs to have a smooth movement like it is traveling on a frictionless surface. So could someone help me achieve this. I need to have this done in a event callback function I need to move the camera along with the cube. So could someone advice me a good tutorial about camera positions along with an object?

  • Intuitive "Take Screenshot" key mapping used by games?

    - by Hatoru Hansou
I recently had a problem testing my game on Linux Ubuntu. The Print key is intercepted by the desktop environment and It never reaches the game. Rather than fighting this, I will simply use any other key or key combination to trigger the screen capture functionality. Now, using the PRINT key is very intuitive because people already expect this behavior. What other keys are a good idea to use to take screenshots? And if possible elaborate why, have other apps/games used that key?

  • Android's EditText is hidden when the virtual keyboard is shown and a SurfaceView is involved

    - by Jan
I have a simple user interface: an EditText should be located below a SurfaceView. I use a RelativeLayout to arrange these two views. Now, when I tap on the EditText to open the virtual keyboard the SurfaceView slides up but the EditText is hidden and does not show the typed string. To reproduce, use the following layout XML code: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:id="@+id/RelativeLayout01" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:layout_width="fill_parent"> <SurfaceView android:id="@+id/SurfaceView01" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content"> </SurfaceView> <EditText android:id="@+id/EditText01" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_alignParentLeft="true" android:layout_alignParentBottom="true" android:selectAllOnFocus="true" android:textStyle="normal" android:singleLine="true"> </EditText> </RelativeLayout> The main Activity class only needs to show the layout. When I start the program and tap the EditText, the virtual keyboard appears but the EditText field is gone. Maybe the RelativeLayout is causing the problems, but I don't know how to reproduce the same layout with another Layout class. Any suggestions are welcome, I really appreciate your help. Thanks. Edit: Here are two screenshots, one showing the EditText at the bottom without virtual keyboard, one with virtual keyboard but with no EditText. It is interesting to note that the SurfaceView and the EditText actually shift upward, the EditText just disappears. BTW this also happens to a button if it is next to the EditText. EditText below a SurfaceView (left); EditText is gone (right)

  • xcode UIWebView - Text Fields = No on screen keyboard.

    - by Aakburns
This application is used to let you use our company basecamp site and only that site. When logged in, if you go to post a new message, you can insert text in the title text field, but if you try to tap in the message body section, it does not bring up the keyboard. I have to assume it's something with my coding, because safari works just fine with it. You can pick textile/html mode or easy. The keyboard does come up in textile/html mode but not in easy formatting mode. Any ideas? Here are some screenshot examples from the iPad. This is shown as the text view not working, no keyboard comes up when you tap in the box. arikburnsDOTcom/forums/fn/IMG_0007.png If you click on 'Switch to Textile/HTML' As seen in the image above, you are presented with this new text box which you can tap in and the keyboard comes up. arikburnsDOTcom/forums/fn/IMG_0006.PNG Now, also note, if you load this same page up in safari, it doesn't actually give you an option as to what text formatting to use, it just works. No options. I basically need to force the 'Textile/HTML' text box somehow and no I cannot change the website code itself. Thanks in advance.

  • Custom Keyboard (iPhone), UIKeyboardDidShowNotification and UITableViewController

    - by Pascal
On an iPhone App, I've got a custom keyboard which works like the standard keyboard; it appears if a custom textfield becomes first responder and hides if the field resigns first responder. I'm also posting the Generic UIKeyboardWillShowNotification, UIKeyboardDidShowNotification and their hiding counterparts, like follows: NSMutableDictionary *userInfo = [NSMutableDictionary dictionaryWithCapacity:5]; [userInfo setObject:[NSValue valueWithCGPoint:self.center] forKey:UIKeyboardCenterBeginUserInfoKey]; [userInfo setObject:[NSValue valueWithCGPoint:shownCenter] forKey:UIKeyboardCenterEndUserInfoKey]; [userInfo setObject:[NSValue valueWithCGRect:self.bounds] forKey:UIKeyboardBoundsUserInfoKey]; [userInfo setObject:[NSNumber numberWithInt:UIViewAnimationCurveEaseOut] forKey:UIKeyboardAnimationCurveUserInfoKey]; [userInfo setObject:[NSNumber numberWithDouble:thisAnimDuration] forKey:UIKeyboardAnimationDurationUserInfoKey]; [[NSNotificationCenter defaultCenter] postNotificationName:UIKeyboardWillShowNotification object:nil userInfo:userInfo]; This code is working and I use it in UIViewController subclasses. Now since iPhone OS 3.0, UITableViewController automatically resizes its tableView when the system keyboards show and hide. I'm only now compiling against 3.0 and I thought that the controller should also resize the table if my custom keyboard appears, since I'm posting the same notification. However it doesn't. The table view controller is set as the delegate of the input fields. Does anyone have an idea why this might be the case? Has anyone implemented something similar successfully? I have standard input fields along the custom ones, so if the user changes the fields the standard keyboard hides and the custom one shows. It would be beneficial if the tableView didn't resize to full height and I didn't have to resize it back with a custom method.

  • Having trouble hiding keyboard using invisible button which sits on top of uiscrollview

    - by phil
    I have 3 items in play... 1) UIView sits at the base of the hierarchy and contains the UIScrollview. 2) UIScrollview that is presenting a lengthy user form. 3) An invisible button on the UIScrollview that I'm using to provide "hide the keyboard" features. Notice in the code below that I'm registering to be notified when the keyboard is going to appear and again when it's going to disappear. These are working great. My problem is seemingly one of "layers". See below where I insert the button into the view atIndex:0. This causes the button to be activated and "stuffed" behind the scrollview so that when you click on it, the scrollview grabs the touch and the button is unaware. There is no way to "reach" the button and suppress the keyboard. However, if I insert atIndex:1, the button gets super imposed on top of the text entry fields and so any touch at all is acted upon by the button, which immediately suppresses the keyboard and then disappears. How do I insert the button on top of the UIScrollview but behind the UITextfields that sit there? other logistics: I have a -(void) hidekeyboard function that I have setup with the UIButtion as an IBAction(). And I have the UIButton connected to "files owner" via a ctrl-drag/drop. (Do I need both of those conventions?) This code in ViewDidLoad()... [[NSNotificationCenter defaultCenter] addObserverForName:UIKeyboardWillShowNotification object:nil queue:nil usingBlock:^(NSNotification *notification){ [self.view insertSubview:self.keyboardDismissalButton atIndex:0]; }];

  • Autocomplete and User define keyboard

    - by Geetha
    Hi All, I am using asp:button to create a keyboard with A-Z and 0-9 for touch screen using Java script. This keyboard is linked with one textbox. If we click one button corresponding text will be displayed on the textbox. Its working fine. I have included the autocomplete feature to this textbox using jquery JQuery Autocomplete. Problem: The autocomplete is not working if i my user define keyboard. How to modify my key buttons as keyboard keys? Is it possible? Is there any other way to achieve this? Code: <asp:TextBox ID="txtSearch" runat="server"></asp:TextBox> <asp:Button ID="zero" runat="server" Text="0" CssClass="myclass" OnClientClick="return typeLetter(this);" TabIndex="20"/> function typeLetter(currentbutton) { if (previousActiveElement != null) { if (previousActiveElement == 'antSearchText'){ var position = document.getElementById('position').value; if (position == '') { alert('chk position'); } else { var existingString = document.getElementById(previousActiveElement).value; var beforeString = existingString.substring(0, position); var afterString = existingString.substring(position, existingString.length); document.getElementById(previousActiveElement).value = beforeString + currentbutton.value + afterString; setCaretPosition(document.getElementById(previousActiveElement), parseInt(position) + 1); setCaretPosition(document.getElementById(previousActiveElement), parseInt(position) + 1); } } } return false; }

  • iPhone scrolling the view up when keyboard is open

    - by Rob
I understand that this problem is incredibly common and I have read through quite a few answers but am having trouble understanding how the code works. This works: -(void)textFieldDidBeginEditing:(UITextField *)sender { if ([sender isEqual:txtLeaveAddyLine1]) { //move the main view, so that the keyboard does not hide it. if (self.view.frame.origin.y >= 0) { [self setViewMovedUp:YES]; } } } In this example, txtLeaveAddy is the very first UITextField that is hidden by the keyboard and it works like a charm. As I cycle through the text fields on the screen it scrolls up when the user enters into that txtLeaveAddyLine1 field. However, when I try to add the fields below the txtLeaveAddyLine1 field - nothing happens. For example: -(void)textFieldDidBeginEditing:(UITextField *)sender { if ([sender isEqual:txtLeaveAddyLine1]) { //move the main view, so that the keyboard does not hide it. if (self.view.frame.origin.y >= 0) { [self setViewMovedUp:YES]; } } if ([sender isEqual:txtLeaveAddyLine2]) { //move the main view, so that the keyboard does not hide it. if (self.view.frame.origin.y >= 0) { [self setViewMovedUp:YES]; } } } Am I not using this function correctly?

  • How to make softkeyboard candidate view not block application view?

    - by Cedric
Hi, I am playing with the Demo SoftKeyboard the comes with the Android SDK. In portrait mode when the candidate view is shown, it doesn't move the app up as the default android keyboard does. Hence it covers part of the application view. What should be changed in order to make the candidate view in the demo softkeyboard behave as the default android keyboard does? I've also looked at the source of the android keyboard from git but found nothing related to this behavior.

  • ActionScript shiftKey Not Working In Full Screen Mode?

    - by Chunk1978
i've drawn an ellipse sprite and added it to the display list of a container, which is added to the display list of the stage. to move the sprites with the keyboard arrows, it appears that my shiftModifier:Number variable is not working when the stage's display state is set to full screen. shiftModifier works as it should when the stage's display state is set to Normal. stage.addEventListener(KeyboardEvent.KEY_DOWN, onKeyboardDown); function onKeyboardDown(evt:KeyboardEvent):void { var shiftModifier:Number = 0.25; if (evt.shiftKey) {shiftModifier = 10;} if (evt.keyCode == Keyboard.UP) {ellipse1.y -= shiftModifier;} if (evt.keyCode == Keyboard.DOWN) {ellipse1.y += shiftModifier;} if (evt.keyCode == Keyboard.LEFT) {ellipse1.x -= shiftModifier;} if (evt.keyCode == Keyboard.RIGHT) {ellipse1.x += shiftModifier;} } fsm.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, toggleFullScreenMode); function toggleFullScreenMode(evt:MouseEvent):void { if (stage.displayState == StageDisplayState.FULL_SCREEN) {stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.NORMAL;} else {stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.FULL_SCREEN;} } full screen is tested in Safari and Firefox.

  • textview.selectedRange.location in UITextview show 2147483647

    - by Risma
    hi i have a textview and i want to get the selectedRange.location value from that textview. in the first time when the keyboard appear, the location value always show an integer point such as 110, or others. But if i dissappear the keyboard and then appear the keyboard again, the location value always show 2147483647. What is this 2147483647 mean and how to get the real location value? This is my code in the keyboard will appear method : -(void)keyboardWillAppear:(NSNotification *)notification { [UIView beginAnimations:nil context:NULL]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:[[[notification userInfo] objectForKey:UIKeyboardAnimationDurationUserInfoKey] doubleValue]]; CGRect keyboardEndingUncorrectedFrame = [[[notification userInfo] objectForKey:UIKeyboardFrameEndUserInfoKey ] CGRectValue]; CGRect keyboardEndingFrame = [self.view convertRect:keyboardEndingUncorrectedFrame fromView:nil]; [UIView commitAnimations]; NSRange selectedRange = textview.selectedRange; NSLog(@"selected Range location : %f", selectedRange.location); }

  • iPhone Settings app and keyboard control?

    - by randallmeadows
So I'm putting my app's preference settings into the Settings app. One of the settings is an edit text field (PSTextFieldSpecifier). When touched, the keyboard dutifully appears, I can make the edits, but when I press Return....nothing. Well, the editing is completed, but the keyboard remains. I see no way to make the keyboard go away. I also notice this same behavior in other Settings panes, including those from Apple. Do I assume correctly that this is just standard behavior and I need to just accept the fact that my Settings table has now been reduced to half size, and just deal? Furthermore, I gather there is no approved way to have a "rich" child pane display, such as that seen in Settings-General-About-Legal? Or a way to do what appears to be a -presentModalViewController, a la Settings-General-Passcode Lock?

  • vlc python bindings - how to receive keyboard input?

    - by itsadok
I'm trying to use VLC's python bindings to create my own little video player. The demo implementation is quite simple and nice, but it requires all the keyboard commands to be typed into the console from which the script was run. Is there any way I can handle keyboard input also when the video player itself has focus? Specifically, I care about controlling the video while in fullscreen mode. Perhaps there's a way to keep the keyboard focus in the console (or maybe another window) while showing the video? I'm using Windows XP, if that has any relevance.

  • Modal View Controller with keyboard on landscape iPad changes location when dismissed

    - by Roi
I present a modal view controller on my on my iPad with UIModalPresentationFormSheet presentation style and UIModalTransitionStyleCoverVertical transition style. The Modal View Controller contains a UIWebView with some TextFields on it. When the user taps one of the text fields the keyboard comes up. I have noticed that in landscape mode after the keyboard is shown, if I try to dismiss the modal view controller with animation the view changes its position from the center of the screen to the left side just before the animation starts.. This happens only if the keyboard is up and only in landscape mode on the iPad. If the user closes the modal view without pressing on any text field this doesn't happen. Anyone familiar with this strange behavior?

  • Scroll UITableViewCell above keyboard for small tableview

    - by JK
I have a tableview which is added to a UIViewController as the tableview only fills the bottom 3/4 of the screen. The rows contain editable UITextFields. When a field is tapped, the keyboard appears but the table does not scroll upwards as would normally be the case. Consequently, the keyboard obscures the field being edited. I have tried calling [tableView scrollToRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath atScrollPosition:(UITableViewScrollPosition)scrollPosition animated:(BOOL)animated] but this has no effect if the table contains only a few rows. How can I get the table to scroll a specific cell above the keyboard? Thank you

  • Keyboard shortcut for Jump to Definition

    - by Arne Evertsson
I'm looking for a keyboard only shortcut for Jump to Definition. The built-in shortcut requires the mouse: Cmd + Double click. I've tried to add a regular keyboard shorcut for the Edit / Find / Jump to Defintion menu command, but, alas, it will only work when the method name is selected. I'd like to be able to position the cursor within the method name, class name, or other symbol, and hit something like Cmd+Shift+L. Does anyone know of a solution, perhaps using a script, for the problem? Update: The keyboard shortcut works sometimes and sometimes not. When I position the text cursor on a method call with no parameters and press Cmd+Shift+L it takes me to the definition. But it doesn't work for a method that takes an (id) parameter. However it works if the parameter is an int. I have submitted a bug report to Apple.

  • Handling input from a keyboard wedge

    - by JDibble
Following on from the question asked by Mykroft Best way to handle input from a keyboard “wedge” http://stackoverflow.com/questions/42437/best-way-to-handle-input-from-a-keyboard-wedge. I need to write a class that intercepts key strokes, if the input is determined to be from the keyboard wedge (as described in the above post) the data will be directed to POS classes to handle, otherwise they keystrokes must be passed on to be handled in windows in the normal manner. This raises two questions How can I intercept key strokes when not in a WinForm. How can I pass on the keypresses to windows. Thanks JDibble

  • Static keyboard in uitableview

    - by Martin
I have a UITableView that holds just two cells with a textfield in each. As my tableview is just for editing the text in these textfields I always want the keyboard to be shown static in the bottom of the screen. So in viewDidLoad I set the first textfield to become first responder. Something I have noticed though is that when I push the UITableViewController into the UINavigationController the keyboard show up a little bit slower so you can see it animate into the screen. It would be much better if it was there already there when the uitableview shows up. I also tried making the textfield first responder before pushing it as recommended but that didn't made the keyboard show at all: MyTableViewController *myTableViewController = [[MyTableViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"MyTableViewController" bundle:nil]; [myTableViewController.textField becomeFirstResponder]; [self.navigationController pushViewController:myTableViewController animated:YES]; [myTableViewController release]; How can I accomplish this? Thanks!
