  • Browser compatibility jQuery UI dialog

    I have a jQuery Dialog box on one of my pages. One of the buttons in the dialog boxes triggers a JavaScript prompt OnClick. Everything seems OK with the lastest versions of Internet Explorer, Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox, but some users are reporting weird behavior. Are there any known browser compatibility errors with jQuery UI dialog boxes?

  • JavaScript code inside UpdatePanel

    Ok: I've got an UpdatePanel on an aspx page that contains a single Placeholder. Inside this placeholder I'm appending one of a selection of usercontrols depending on certain external conditions (this is a configuration page). In each of these usercontrols there is a bindUcEvents() javascript function that binds the various jQuery and javascript events to buttons and validators inside the usercontrol. The issue I'm having is that the usercontrol's javascript is not being recognised. Normally, javascript inside an updatepanel is executed when the updatepanel posts back, however none of this code can be found by the page (I've tried running the function manually via firebug's console, but it tells me it cannot find the function). Does anyone have any suggestions? Cheers, Ed.   • DataTriggered animation is triggered only in the first time

    I just wanted to create very simple example of DataTriggers and animation. Two checkboxes and Rectangle. Checking the first cb makes the rectangle fade away. (CodeBehind var is true) Checking the second cb makes the rectangle come back. (var is false) App is loading - the rectangle is showing (true) Firs cb is checked by default. I'm checking second cb - rect is dissapearing. It's OK. But when I then check the first cb rect isn't showing up. I am using the event "change", the problem is that if a user open the select but choose the same option that is selected, the triggers doesn't fire. Is there a way to capture the event when a user select an option independently if the option is the same than is the one that was selected? thanks.

    I have two xaml file one is MainWindow.xaml and other is userControl EditTaskView.xaml. In MainWindow.xaml it consists of listbox and when double clicked any item of listbox, it displays edit window (EditView userControl). Whenever edit window gets displayed, it plays an animation (sliding from right to left). The EditView userControl has two buttons 'Save' and 'Cancel'. Now I want to add animation (sliding edit window from left to right) when any of the button (Save or Cancel) button is clicked. When 'Save' or 'Cancel' button is clicked, it Collapse the edit window.     So I'm using the datepicker plugin to make an availability calendar. I need a way to only update the database if the date is clicked on and not pre-loaded. When I pre-load the dates they are sent to the PHP page and subsequently removed.

    I want to style the :active state of a button that is represented by an . The tag has an inner (beacuse I want to add an icon to this button). I notice the :active state is triggered properly in everything but Internet Explorer. In IE, it appears that the area around the (the 's padding) triggers that :active state, but when clicking directly on the text within the , the :active state is not triggered. Is there a way to fix this without resorting to Javascript?

    Our problem/question revolves around an upload control that loses the selected file (goes blank) when a postback control is used (in this case, the dropdown list posts). Every time that the user selects one category, the subcategories are loaded (AutoPostBack=”true”). The primary user flow works fine: User selects one category, subcategory and selects a file to be uploaded (submitted). HOWEVER, if the user selects a file first, and then selects a category, the screen will do a partial refresh and the selected file will disappear (field goes blank). As a result, the user needs to select the file again. This causes an issue because the fact that the file is no longer selected can easily be overlooked. Seems straighforward --- but causing us a lot of grief. Any experts out there that can help? BIG thanks!
