  • Convert Date to Datetime field.

    - by infant programmer
    The argument my C# function is getting is a string which is merely a Date or a DateTime. I am suppose to convert this String to DateTime, to carry on furthure calculation. Now I need to test whether the incoming data is a Date, if it is date(examle:"12/31/2009"), then I need to add "00:00:00" (24 hours format) to it, so that it will become "12/31/2009 00:00:00". If string manipulation is one possible way, I want to confirm whether there is some other way where we can automate the testing and conversion within DateTime.TryParseExact() method. This is my sample C# code : (which is now only able to convert string of format "MM/dd/yyyy HH:mm:ss" to DateTime.) private static string[] formats = new string[] { "MM/dd/yyyy HH:mm:ss" }; public string date_conv(string date_str) { DateTime date_value; DateTime.TryParseExact(date_str, formats, new global::System.Globalization.CultureInfo("en-US"), global::System.Globalization.DateTimeStyles.None, out date_value); /*Some useful instruction to use date_value*/ return(date_value.ToString("MM/dd/yyyy HH:mm:ss")); }

  • C# Getting Just Date From Timestamp

    - by Soo
    If I have a timestamp in the form: yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss:mmm How can I just extract the date from the timestamp? For instance, if a timestamp reads: "2010-05-18 08:36:52:236" what is the best way to just get 2010-05-18 from it. What I'm trying to do is isolate the date portion of the timestamp, define a custom time for it to create a new time stamp. Is there a more efficient way to define the time of the timestamp without first taking out the date, and then adding a new time?

  • jQuery Date Picker where text input is read only

    - by Rowan Parker
    Hi all, I want to use the Jquery datepicker. I've got it setup using an the alt field option. I'm displaying Y-M-D in the text field, but submitting Y-M-D. Everything works fine so far, sending the correct data, etc. However I want to stop the user from being able to manually type a date. I add originally set the INPUT field to disabled, which worked in every browser except IE. In IE it would popup the date picker but then not close after clicking a date. Does anyone know the best way to do this?

  • Get latest sql rows based on latest date and per user

    - by Umair
    I have the following table: RowId, UserId, Date 1, 1, 1/1/01 2, 1, 2/1/01 3, 2, 5/1/01 4, 1, 3/1/01 5, 2, 9/1/01 I want to get the latest records based on date and per UserId but as a part of the following query (due to a reason I cannot change this query as this is auto generated by a tool but I can write pass any thing starting with AND...): SELECT RowId, UserId, Date FROM MyTable WHERE 1 = 1 AND ( // everything which needs to be done goes here . . . ) I have tried similar query, but get an error: Only one expression can be specified in the select list when the subquery is not introduced with EXISTS.

  • Why my print current date time (C language) gives different answer

    - by vodkhang
    I want to get the current date (day, mon and year). I found out there are some functions in C to do that like ctime (get the string of time), localtime and gmtime. I tried with following code but the output are different. I get this output: The date and time is Tue Apr 20 2010 (which is correct) The year is : 110 The year is : 110. Does anybody know why? int main(int argc, char** argv) { time_t now; if((now = time(NULL)) == (time_t)-1) { puts("Failure in getting time"); } else { printf("The date and time is: %s\n", ctime(&now)); printf("The year is: %ld\n", localtime(&now)->tm_year); printf("The year is: %ld\n", gmtime(&now)->tm_year); } getchar(); }

  • Date range/query problem..

    - by Simon
    Am hoping someone can help me out a bit with date ranges... I have a table with 3 fields id, datestart, dateend I need to query this to find out if a pair of dates from a form are conflicting i.e table entry 1, 2010-12-01, 2010-12-09 from the form 2010-12-08, 20-12-15 select id from date_table where '2010-12-02' between datestart and dateend; That returns me the id that I want, but what I would like to do is to take the date range from the form and do a query similar to what I have got that will take both form dates 2010-12-08, 20-12-15 and query the db to ensure that there is no conflicting date ranges in the table. Am sat scratching my head with the problem... TIA

  • Find Date From Non Contiguous Ranges

    - by AGoodDisplayName
    I am looking to find an best way to find a date from date ranges that may or may not be contiguous (I am trying to avoid a cursor, or a heavy function if possible). Lets say I have hotel guests that come and go (check in, check out). I want to find the date that a certain guest stayed their 45th night with us. The database we use records the data as so: Create Table #GuestLog( ClientId int, StartDate DateTime, EndDate DateTime) Here is some data Insert Into #GuestLog Values(1, '01/01/2010', '01/10/2010') Insert Into #GuestLog Values(1, '01/16/2010', '01/29/2010') Insert Into #GuestLog Values(1, '02/13/2010', '02/26/2010') Insert Into #GuestLog Values(1, '04/05/2010', '06/01/2010') Insert Into #GuestLog Values(1, '07/01/2010', '07/21/2010') So far I can only think of solutions that involve functions with temp tables and crazy stuff like that, I feel like I'm over thinking it. Thanks ahead of time.

  • Drupal 6: Group multiple values in tpl.php

    - by Jozzeh
    When using the date and views module, you can specify in views (using row style fields) 'group multiple values'. Which is default on. If you turn it off, you get multiple nodes each with a date. For example: - 24th March ------- node1 - 25th March ------- node1 What I'm trying to figure out is: what if you are not using fields but node as Row style. How do you implement this not-group-multiple-values in your type-node.tpl.php?

  • Weird behaviour of Calendar and DateFormat

    - by Nejc
    I encountered really strange behaviour when constructing a Calendar object and then formating it in a particular style. Let the code do the talking: public class Test { public static void main(String[] args) { SimpleDateFormat frmt = new SimpleDateFormat(); frmt.applyPattern("yyyy-MM-dd"); GregorianCalendar date = new GregorianCalendar(2012,1,1); System.out.println(frmt.format(date.getTime())); } } The output is: 2012-02-01 The expected output is of course: 2012-01-01 What am I doing wrong?

  • T-SQL Operations on a Calculated Date Field

    - by firedrawndagger
    Can I do WHERE operations on a calculated date field? I have a lookup field, which has been written badly in SQL and unfortunately I can't change it. But basically it stores dates as characters such as "July-2010" or "June-2009" (along with other non date data). I want to extract the dates first (which I did using a LIKE opertor) and then extract data based on a date range. SELECT BusinessUnit, Lookup, ReleaseDate FROM ( SELECT TOP 10 LookupColumn As Lookup, BU as BusinessUnit, CONVERT(DATETIME, REPLACE(LookupColumn,'-',' ')) as ReleaseDate FROM [dbo].[LookupTable] WHERE LookupColumn LIKE N'%-2010' ) MyTable ORDER BY ReleaseDate WHERE ReleaseDate = '2010-02-01' I'm having issues with WHERE operator. I would assume creating a subquery to encapsulate the calculated field would allow me to do operations with it such as WHERE but maybe I'm wrong. Bottom line is it possible to do operations on calculated fields?

  • Is there a way to localize input type="date" in HTML5

    - by lambacck
    I know that at the time of this writing only Opera supports a browser UI for <input type="date" name="mydate"> and maybe my attempts to localize this field have been met with frustration because niceties like localization have not yet been included in their implementation, but I don't even see mention of it in the HTML5 spec. Is there a way that localization should be specified? Should I do lang="fr" on a parent element? Some notes on the implementation of the site in question: Localization (language) is explicitly picked by the user because they are managing data in multiple languages and it is not reasonable to expect that the user's browser chrome is in the language being viewed or that the browser is providing desired language request headers. I want to be sure that if the page is rendered in French that the date picker provided by browser chrome shows options that make sense for French language. The plan is to fall back to jQueryUI for browsers that do not support type="date", I will use the detection mechanism provided in Dive into HTML 5

  • Java date processing

    - by Don
    Hi, Given an instance of java.util.Date which is a Sunday. If there are 4 Sundays in the month in question, I need to figure out whether the chosen date is 1st Sunday of month 2nd Sunday of month 2nd last Sunday of month Last Sunday of month If there are 5 Sundays in the month in question, then I need to figure out whether the chosen date is 1st Sunday of month 2nd Sunday of month 3rd Sunday of month 2nd last Sunday of month Last Sunday of month I've had a look in JodaTime, but haven't found the relevant functionality there yet. The project is actually a Groovy project, so I could use either Java or Groovy to solve this. Thanks, Donal

  • dynamic detail section using user date range

    - by user1437828
    I have a particular report that I need help with. I have an assignment where we are looking for missing data for a particular date - the situation is that users are required to enter a begin and an end note for their shift and their shift is either a day shift or a night shift. So within a 24 hour period there should be a day begin note, day end note, evening begin note and an evening end note I have the command written to generate the required data for ONE DAY ONLY using a BeginDate parameter supplied by the user What I need is to allow the user to enter a date range (add another parameter EndDate), then evaluate the data entry (command) for each day. The parameter being passed in using the user's input is a date and in the Group Expert the user input is not an available field Any help or suggestions would be most appreciated!

  • Customs toString in Java not giving desired output and throwing error

    - by user2972048
    I am writing a program in Java to accept and validate dates according to the Gregorian Calendar. My public boolean setDate(String aDate) function for an incorrect entry is suppose to change the boolean goodDate variable to false. That variable is suppose tell the toString function, when called, to output "Invalid Entry" but it does not. My public boolean setDate(int d, int m, int y) function works fine though. I've only included the problem parts as its a long piece of code. Thanks public boolean setDate(int day, int month, int year){ // If 1 <= day <= 31, 1 <= month <= 12, and 0 <= year <= 9999 & the day match with the month // then set object to this date and return true // Otherwise,return false (and do nothing) boolean correct = isTrueDate(day, month, year); if(correct){ this.day = day; this.month = month; this.year = year; return true; }else{ goodDate = false; return false; } //return false; } public boolean setDate(String aDate){ // If aDate is of the form "dd/mm/yyyy" or "d/mm/yyyy" // Then set the object to this date and return true. // Otherwise, return false (and do nothing) Date d = new Date(aDate); boolean correct = isTrueDate(d.day, d.month, d.year); if(correct){ this.day = d.day; this.month = d.month; this.year = d.year; return true; }else{ goodDate = false; return false; } } public String toString(){ // outputs a String of the form "dd/mm/yyyy" // where dd must be 2 digits (with leading zero if needed) // mm must be 2 digits (with leading zero if needed) // yyyy must be 4 digits (with leading zeros if needed) String day1; String month1; String year1; if(day<10){ day1 = "0" + Integer.toString(this.day); } else{ day1 = Integer.toString(this.day); } if(month<10){ month1 = "0" + Integer.toString(this.month); } else{ month1 = Integer.toString(this.month); } if(year<10){ year1 = "00" + Integer.toString(this.year); } else{ year1 = Integer.toString(this.year); } if(goodDate){ return day1 +"/" +month1 +"/" + year1; }else{ goodDate = true; return "Invalid Entry"; } } Thank you

    - by Ranish

I am using following code [OperationContract] [WebGet(ResponseFormat = WebMessageFormat.Json, BodyStyle = WebMessageBodyStyle.Wrapped, UriTemplate = "GetDate")] DateTime GetDate(); When I tried to call the method using Mozilla rest client I am able to get following result "/Date(1355116291037+0530)/" But the problem is when this method consume from the iPhone side we are getting another date time value( there is around 5:30 hours difference) . Any one have any idea regarding this issue,Please help me Thanks in advance

  • date.getHours() to calendar.hour

    - by user1487045
    I want to get the hour of day in 24hour cycle. I know that date.getHours() is depreciated. But I'm tempted to use it since I cant get the same result out of calendar.hour call. Can anyone tell me how to fix what I have below to get the hours out correctly with calendar.hour? ...much appreciated. Date d = new Date(); Calendar c = Calendar.getInstance(); c.setTime(d); System.out.println("hour: "+Math.abs(c.HOUR-24)+", mins: "+Math.abs(c.MINUTE-60)+", d.h: "+d.getHours() +", d.m: "+d.getMinutes());
