• Which license text to sell my application

  I would like to sell (for a low price) my new application without DRM (like does Machinarium) on the Ubuntu software center and on a website with Paypal. When I have registered my application the Ubuntu software center and I've selected the licence, I just found "Proprietary" but in my application I have to provide a licence text that something different than just "Proprietary", isn't it? Do you know where I can find this kind of licence text ?

• VS2010 Text Editor: How do I set the default formatting style for inline code blocks?

  I've got a problem with the formatting of inline code blocks within the VS2010 text editor and wonder if anyone else has had similar problems and found the 'magic' setting I'm looking for. I'm working my way through tutorials in an MVC book. Whenever I add some inline code blocks to a view I want them formatted like so: <% foreach (var link in Model) { %> <a href="<%=Url.RouteUrl(link.RouteValues)%>"> <%=link.Text%> </a> <% } %> What I'm actually getting is this (auto-formatted by the IDE when I finish writing the code): <% foreach (var link in Model) { %> <a href="<%=Url.RouteUrl(link.RouteValues)%>"> <%=link.Text%> </a> <% } %> It's pretty irritating. • Flash CS 4 / AS 2 + Dynamic Text + Html + Embedded fonts...

  I have this scenario: 1) I have a dynamic text that receives its data from a XML. 2) The texts showed get theirs style from a CSS file. 3) My dynamic text has a html 'span' tag and it's formatted according to the CSS class that it's passed via the XML file. Ok... so far so good. It's something like: _root.txt.txtDica = "<span class='"+ node.childNodes[_global.auxCont].attributes.myStyle +"'>" + node.childNodes[_global.auxCont].attributes.myText+ "</span>"; The problem is that the swf has a poor quality text. So, I've been looking around, found some things about embedded fonts, Flash TextField() and etc. But, nothing seems to work. Does anyone know how can I generate this html tag in a dynamic text with a good quality? It's worth to say that I'm using regular fonts, such as Verdana and Arial. Thanks a lot!

• How to animate button text? (loading type of animation) - jquery?

  I got something that I want to do and want to see what you guys think and how can it be implemented. I got a form in a page and the form will submit to itself to perform some process (run functions) in a class. Upon clicking the submit button, I want to animate the button text to “SUBMIT .” -> “SUBMIT ..” -> “SUBMIT …” -> “SUBMIT ….” -> “SUBMIT ….” and then back again. Sort of “animate” the button text. Once the whole process is done, the button text will goes back to be “SUBMIT” text again. Please note that I am not looking for image button solution, meaning that I do not want to implement gif animated button image. Anyone done this before or know how this can be done? I have google but seems nothing of this kind to be found. Thanks! AL

• How to Animate Text and Objects in PowerPoint 2010

  Are you looking for an eye catching way to keep your audience interested in your PowerPoint presentations? Today we’ll take a look at how to add animation effects to objects in PowerPoint 2010. Select the object you wish to animate and then click the More button in the Animation group of the Animation tab.   Animations are grouped into four categories. Entrance effects, Exit effects, Emphasis effects, and Motion Paths. You can get a Live Preview of how the animation will look by hovering your mouse over an animation effect.   When you select a Motion Path, your object will move along the dashed path line as shown on the screen. (This path is not displayed in the final output) Certain aspects of the Motion Path effects are editable. When you apply a Motion Path animation to an object, you can select the path and drag the end to change the length or size of the path. The green marker along the motion path marks the beginning of the  path and the red marks the end. The effects can be rotated by clicking and the bar near the center of the effect.   You can display additional effects by choosing one of the options at the bottom. This will pop up a Change Effect window. If you have Preview Effect checked at the lower left you can preview the effects by single clicking.   Apply Multiple Animations to an Object Select the object and then click the Add Animation button to display the animation effects. Just as we did with the first effect, you can hover over to get a live preview. Click to apply the effect. The animation effects will happen in the order they are applied. Animation Pane You can view a list of the animations applied to a slide by opening the Animation Pane. Select the Animation Pane button from the Advanced Animation group to display the Animation Pane on the right. You’ll see that each animation effect in the animation pane has an assigned number to the left.    Timing Animation Effects You can change when your animation starts to play. By default it is On Click. To change it, select the effect in the Animation Pane and then choose one of the options from the Start dropdown list. With Previous starts at the same time as the previous animation and After Previous starts after the last animation. You can also edit the duration that the animations plays and also set a delay.   You can change the order in which the animation effects are applied by selecting the effect in the animation pane and clicking Move Earlier or Move Later from the Timing group on the Animation tab. Effect Options If the Effect Options button is available when your animation is selected, then that particular animation has some additional effect settings that can be configured. You can access the Effect Option by right-clicking on the the animation in the Animation Pane, or by selecting Effect Options on the ribbon.   The available options will vary by effect and not all animation effects will have Effect Options settings. In the example below, you can change the amount of spinning and whether the object will spin clockwise or counterclockwise.   Under Enhancements, you can add sound effects to your animation. When you’re finished click OK.   Animating Text Animating Text works the same as animating an object. Simply select your text box and choose an animation. Text does have some different Effect Options. By selecting a sequence, you decide whether the text appears as one object, all at once, or by paragraph. As is the case with objects, there will be different available Effect Options depending on the animation you choose. Some animations, such as the Fly In animation, will have directional options.   Testing Your Animations Click on the Preview button at any time to test how your animations look. You can also select the Play button on the Animation Pane. Conclusion Animation effects are a great way to focus audience attention on important points and hold viewers interest in your PowerPoint presentations. • How do I set up live audio streams to a DLNA compliant device?

  Is there a way to stream the live output of the soundcard from our 12.04.1 LTS amd64 desktop to a DLNA-compliant external device in our network? Selecting media content in shared directories using Rygel, miniDLNA, and uShare is always fine - but so far we completely failed to get a live audio stream to a client via DLNA. Pulseaudio claims to have a DLNA/UPnP media server that together with Rygel is supposed to do just this. But we were unable to get it running. We followed the steps outlined in live.gnome.org, this answer here, and also in another similar guide. As soon as we select the local audio device, or our GST-Launch stream in the DLNA client Rygel displays the following message and the client states it reached the end of the playlist: (rygel:7380): Rygel-WARNING **: rygel-http-request.vala:97: Invalid seek request This is how we configured GST-Launch in rygel.conf: [GstLaunch] enabled=true launch-items=mypulseaudiosink mypulseaudiosink-title=Audio on @HOSTNAME@ mypulseaudiosink-mime=audio/x-wav mypulseaudiosink-launch=pulsesrc device=<device> ! wavpackenc For <device> we tried with the default sink name, this name appended with .monitor, and in addition with upnp-sink and upnp.monitor that was created when we selected DLNA media server from paprefs. We also tried to encode using lamemp3enc with no luck. • How to stream H264 Video from camera over FTP?

  I bought a h264 security camera system last year and set it up to ftp video to my computer. I was able to get the video to play (even though it played a little fast) on Ubuntu 11.04 using mplayer. A few months ago, I did a fresh install of 12.04 and I cannot seem to get the video to play with mplayer, smplayer or VLC. I have the restricted formats video packages installed and when playing with any of the players, all I get is a gray video. When calling mplayer from the command line to play the video with no options, I get a lot of these errors: [h264 @ 0x7f278c61f280]concealing 1320 DC, 1320 AC, 1320 MV errors No pts value from demuxer to use for frame! pts after filters MISSING I'm not a video expert and have been coming up with a lot of dead ends when Googling for this. Could someone offer some advice about how to play these videos? • What word processor can manage left and right pages separately?

  I was after a word processor that can manage left and right pages separately so I can have my text on the right pages and my illustrations on the left pages. I know LibeOffice can set "left page" and "right page" formats, but there is no simple way to make the text jump from right page to right page when writing. I don't know what would be the best way to do that, but I guess I need an app that is designed for writing books and do that kind of thing, or an app that can associate a page format with an object format (so the "illustration" format can be exclusively associated with "left page" format, and "text body" exclusively associated with "right page", for example). Or is there an extension for LO or OOo out there that I didn't hear about? Cheers!

• How can videos from Ubuntu drive appear on web page and play in an embedded Flash Player?

  I have a shared folder on Ubuntu Server 12.04. Users drop videos in. Ubuntu runs a Cron task to convert them to FLV format and put them into another folder. All I would like is a simple web page that displays all the files in that folder as links, and when you click on the link for the video you want to play, it should play in the same web page inside an embedded Flash/SWF player. Sounds really basic but I'm actually struggling to find a simple solution. Any thoughts appreciated!

  I am looking for sharing things like a folder with ushare. I got the program running with xbox to play the music but it crashes through a song. Does anyone know how to fix it? My router is echolife (it came with the talktalk broadband). It looks like a picture frame you find it if you live in the UK. Just want to ask if it can be fixed or if it is a router problem. Do I need to configure anything in ushare?

• 12.04's music players won't stream radio stations

  I cannot get any music player in 12.04 to stream radio stations. My previous OS (ubuntu 10.04) had no problems with this. I have tried Rhythmbox and Exaile. neither works in 12.04 (but both work fine in 10.04. I inputted this stream: http://ummedia12.rs.itd.umich.edu:8004 I see that an internet connection is established by "Python" and I hear the "Advertisement" that plays right before the stream begins. But then just silence. The stream works fine in VLC, but I like to use the music players because they "store" the URL and have a tab that says Radio. I can find no way to "store" the URL in VLC. Anyone know what's wrong and why it's not working in the music players? I have fluendo plugins installed. I have python installed. I have ffmpeg installed.

  I'm trying to record an mpeg2 video stream from a website that doesn't have the greatest bandwidth. The video often buffers. I want to download the stream and watch it offline. The extract stream format received is: Stream #0.0[0x44]: Audio: mp2, 48000 Hz, stereo, s16, 192 kb/s Stream #0.1[0x45]: Video: mpeg2video (Main), yuv420p, 704x576 [PAR 16:11 DAR 16:9], 15000 kb/s, 27.19 fps, 25 tbr, 90k tbn, 50 tbc I use the following tool to transocde the stream: ffmpeg -i "http://url" -y -vcodec libx264 -b 3000k -acodec copy /tmp/stream.mp4 Unfortunately after a few seconds ffmpeg stops recording with an error [mpegts @ 0x1f0b9c0] PES packet size mismatch [mp2 @ 0x1f14640] incomplete frame Error while decoding stream #0.0 [mpeg2video @ 0x1f16860] ac-tex damaged at 0 26 [mpeg2video @ 0x1f16860] Warning MVs not available I've tried encoding with vlc as well with similar issues. • Generating grammatically correct MUD-style attack descriptions

  I am currently working on a text based game, where the outcome of a combat round goes something like this %attacker% inflicts a serious wound (12 points damage) on %defender% Right now, I just swap %attacker% with the name of the attacker, and %defender% for the name of the defender. However, the description works, but don't read correctly. Since the game is just all text, I don't want to resort to generic descriptions (Such as "You use Attack on Goblin for 5 damage", which arguably solve the problem) How do I generate correct descriptions for cases where %attacker% refers to "You", the player? "You inflicts..." is wrong "Bees", or other plural? I need somehow to know I should prefix the name with a "The " If %attacker% is a generic noun, such as "Goblin", it will read weird as opposed to %attacker% being a name. Compare "Goblin inflicts..." vs. "Aldraic Swordbringer inflicts...." How does text-based games usually resolve such issues?

USE CASE: DLNA Media server installed and running on my PC. In my PC, I have /home/myprofile/videos directory where I store all my video files. • HTML5 media loading sometimes suspends or aborts: misconfigured Apache?

  Recently, some code that has been working fine for months started to run unexpectedly. That code is just a media files loading JavaScript function, that uses jQuery. It's pretty long, but in essence it is like this: var $audio=$('<audio>'); $audio.on('canplaythrough',function(e){ $audio[0].play(); }); $audio.attr('src','song.ogg'); Basically, the file only loads sometimes, and sometimes stops loading with a suspend or even an abort event. I have uploaded a little testing HTML to http://www.joanbotella.com/tests/loading , where you can see what's happening. You can download the test files from http://www.joanbotella.com/tests/loading/loadingTest.zip for local testing. I have just checked that opening the test index.html file directly into Firefox, and not through my localhost Apache server, makes the audio files perfectly playable. So, I assume, my hosting and I have the Apache server misconfigured for serving media files. My software versions are: Apache 2.2.22-1ubuntu1.7 , Mozilla Firefox 31.0 , Chromium 36.0.1985.125 and jQuery 1.11.0. Can you help me? Thanks in advance!

• Stream sound card output to icecast2 via darkice

  I want to stream to icecast server via darkice, the default .cfg comes with /dev/dsp, witch is OSS, but there is no /dev/dsp in Ubuntu 12.10, so I tried hw:0,0, but it's just the microphone, and I would like to stream all of the sound-card output. • What's the best language to use for a simple windows 7 dynamic gui desktop app [closed]

  [Note: I hope I am not breaking etiquette, but I originally posted a variant on this question here, but am re-asking here because I am making this now solely a question about programming.] I would like to program of the following simple form: The user can produce X number of resizable frames (analogous to HTML frames). Each frame serves as a simple text editor, which you can type into and save the whole configuration including resized windows and text. The user should be able alternately "freeze" and present the information, and "unfreeze" and edit frames. Thus it will be a cross between a calendar and a text editor. I don't particularly care if it is a web application or not. What languages are ideal for such a setup? I know some C and Python and Html, and am willing to learn others if need be. It seems to me this should be a relatively easy program to make, but I need a little direction before starting. EDIT: My OS is Windows 7.

• connect to xbox using Windows Media Center

  Is there any software available for ubuntu that can emulate Windows Media Center for connecting a computer to an xbox? I tried following the xbox wizard, but it says that I need Windows. I just want to be able to choose to show pictures, play music or video on my tv through my xbox instead of my computer. I can currently do something similar using my Samsung phone and wireless TV using AllShare. I just choose which video I want to play and where and it works like magic. The TV my xbox is connected to though doesn't have wireless so I was hoping to use the xbox for similar functionality. Thanks

• Convert video files for home IIS server [closed]

  I am finally learning to set up an IIS server (personal use only) and I thought it would be cool to have some videos on it for me to watch when I am away from home. Since I'm usually on 3G (iPhone) or work wifi, I'd like to convert them to an optimal format that will stream fast. The video files are mostly avi and mp4 (from 30 minutes to 2 hours in length). What would be an easy and fast way to go about doing this? Thanks.

• How to duplicate form control's checkbox in Excel 2007 with "TRUE" "FALSE" text

  For example I made check box in A1 with "=$B$1" So now, when I click it the "TRUE", "FALSE" text appears depending if check box is checked or not. The problem starts when I want to duplicate those two to more rows. Now every check box makes the B1 text to change, not the one it represents as in check box A1 should change B1 text, check box in cell A2 should change B2 text and so on, but now all check boxes change the same B1 text. Is there any workaround?
