    Hi there, First of all I would like to Thank the Varien Company for providing the best ecommerce solution and free community edition. I am very excited since i started knowing about magento. I am a web developer and very much interested. I have some concerns about the Integration of Magento with other CRM,ERP systems. How is it possible to integrate Magento with any other Industry standard CRM and ERP system? How can i fetch the data from a ERP and update Magento database, like transactiona replication. Is this possible? And Whats the right way to do it? Also, How can i integrate Magento with POS? Is it possible to have bi-directional data update between Magento and Industry Standard POS? Now I'm thinkig about using one of the frameworks (Blocks) which is available as GC-only. My question is - can I still use the framework without any changes to my current non-GC code and without using GC myself?

    I have created a class say A which has some functions defined as protected. Now Class B inherits A and class C inherits B. Class A has private default constructor and protected parameterized constructor. I want Class B to be able to access all the protected functions defined in Class A but class C can have access on some of the functions only not all the functions and class C is inheriting class B.   • Java Swing app hangs when run in normal mode but runs fine in debug mode

    I am writing a basic Java application with a Swing front-end. Basically it loads some data from a Derby database via Apache Cayenne and then displays it in a JTable. I'm doing my development in Eclipse and I don't think it's important but I'm using Maven for dependencies. Now this works fine when I run using Debug but it seems to hang the display thread when I use the Run button. I've done a thread dump and I'm not 100% certain but everything looks good. I used Java VisualVM and the threads look fine there as well. Strangely it seems to work intermittently. It's pretty consistent though and easy to reproduce. If anyone has any ideas, I'm all out of them.

    I am creating a test app where is one supervisor with simple_one_for_one strategy and many worker children added dynamically to it. How to implement callback (or receive a message) in supervisor that will be called when child exit normally? Main goal is to notify some other process that all supervised worker processes are done and it's time to show final report. How to design such kind of behavior? Should I create my own behavior that combine supervisor and gen_server, or there is a way to do this with standard otp behaviors?

  • Bind a ViewModel to a DropDownListFor with a third value besides dataValueField/dataTextField

    When I show a list of testplanViewModels in my View and the user selects one the SelectedTestplanId is returned to the Controller post action. What should also be returned is the TemplateId which belongs to the SelectedTestplanId. When the AutoMapper definition is run the Testplan.TestplanId is implicitly copied over to the TestplanViewModel.TestplanId. The same could be done by providing a TemplateId on the TestplanViewModel. When the user selects now a "TestplanViewModel" in the View, how can I attach the TemplateId to the controller action to access it there? The DropDownList does not allow 2 dataValueFields!     Is there any way to detect and handle whether a Java library is correctly releasing file-handles (via "close") from within a Java program that is using said library, short of having access to the actual library code and inserting the corresponding "finally close" statements? If detection is feasible, is there any way to close those file-handles without a reference to the Reader (or FileInputStream) that was reading the file?

  • Python Importing object that originates in one module from a different module into a third module

    I was reading the sourcode for a python project and came across the following line: from couchexport.export import Format (source: https://github.com/wbnigeria/couchexport/blob/master/couchexport/views.py#L1 ) I went over to couchexport/export.py to see what Format was (Class? Dict? something else?). Unfortunately Format isn't in that file. export.py does however import a Format from couchexport.models where there is a Format class (source: https://github.com/wbnigeria/couchexport/blob/master/couchexport/models.py#L11). When I open up the original file in my IDE and have it look up the declaration, in line I mentioned at the start of this question, it leads directly to models.py. What's going on? How can an import from one file (export.py) actually be an import from another file (models.py) without being explicitly stated?

Then I'll have a javascript function that runs in response to the JSON response, like function form_success(json) { alert('Your form submission worked'); // process json response } How do I wire up the form submit button to call my form_success method when done? Also it should override the browser's own navigation, since I don't want to leave the page. Or should I move the button out of the form to do that?

  • Ruby on Rails user login form in main layout

    Hey guys I have a simple ror application for some demo stuff. I am running into a problem with trying to move my login form from the users controller and just have it displayed in the main navigation so that a user can easily log in from anywhere. The problem is the form doesn't generate the correct action for the html form. Ruby code: <% form_for(url_for(:action => 'login'), :method => 'post') do |f| %> <li><%= f.text_field("username") %></li> <li><%= f.password_field("password") %></li> <li><%= submit_tag("Login")%></li> <% end %> The problem is depending on the controller I am currently in this generates HTML actions like <form action="/home" method="post">...</form> when it should be generating HTML like so <form action="/login" method="post">...</form> I know I could simply do an HTML form here but I want to keep things as easy to maintain as possible. Any help?

    I have 2 canvas, one use old html "width" and "height" to size it, the other use CSS <canvas id="compteur1" width="300" height="300" onmousedown="compteurClick(this.id);"></canvas> <canvas id="compteur2" style="width: 300px; height: 300px;" onmousedown="compteurClick(this.id);"></canvas> compteur1 display like it should, but not compteur2. the content is drawn using javascript on a 300x300 canvas. why is there a display difference? Our new project will born under symfony2 so we're trying some silly - but "real" - stuff (like authentication from db, submit data from a form and persist it to db and so on..) The problem As far i know, learnt from symfony2 "book" that i found on the site (you can find it here), there is an "automated" way for creating and rendering forms: 1) Build the form up into a controller in this way $form = $this->createFormBuilder($task) ->add('task','text'), ->add('dueDate','date'), ->getForm(); return $this->render('pathToBundle:Controller:templateTwig', array('form'=>$form->createview()); 2) Into templateTwig render the template {{ form_widget(form) }} // or single rows method 3) Into a controller (the same that have a route where you can submit data), take back submitted information if($rquest->getMethod()=='POST'){ $form->bindRequest($request); /* and so on */ } Return to scenario Our graphic employee don't want to access controllers, write php and other stuff like those. UPDATE It seems that Symfony2 use a different convention for form's field name and lookup once you've submitted that. In particular, if my form's name is addUser and a field is named userName, the field's name will be AddUser[username] so maybe it have a "dynamic" lookup method that will extract form's name, field's name, concat them and lookup for values.     I guess, DAO is thread safe, does not use any class members. So can it be used without any problem as a private field of a Servlet ? We need only one copy, and multiple threads can access it simultaneously, so why bother creating a local variable, right?
