    Why can't you throw an InterruptedException in the following way: try { System.in.wait(5) //Just an example } catch (InterruptedException exception) { exception.printStackTrace(); //On this next line I am confused as to why it will not let me throw the exception throw exception; } I went to http://java24hours.com, but it didn't tell me why I couldn't throw an InterruptedException.   • VC++2008 Debugger doesn't find library sources

    An exception got thrown from a lib I use in my project. As I looked at the callstack, I clicked at the lib function that threw the exception. An "Open File" dialog popped up, prompting me to tell it where the lib source is located. Now clearly something is wrong. This should happen automatically somehow. How do I tell VS where to look for all files from that lib?

SELECT [ID] ,[File] FROM [dbo].[Reports] I would like to be able to tell user the size of File which is VarBinary(max) field in MS SQL 2005/2008. How to do that? Maybe the only way to do is to create another column and when inserting file i should also insert it's size in additional column?

  • what's the right way to cause a subview to redraw when the device orientation changes?

    I have a view controller with a view and one subview. When the device orientation changes the view auto-redraws but the subview doesn't. If I explicitly do [subview setNeedsDisplay] it redraws but I don't have a logical place to put that call in my code. And, since I don't have to explicitly tell the view to redraw, it seems counter-intuitive to tell the subview to redraw. Is there a way to make the subview auto-redraw when the view redraws?

  • How to close all, or only some, tabs in Safari using AppleScript?

    I have made a very simple AppleScript to close all tabs in Safari. The problem is, it works, but not completely. The problem is that only a couple of tabs are closed. Here's the code: tell application "Safari" repeat with aWindow in windows repeat with aTab in tabs of aWindow if [some condition is encountered] then aTab close end if end repeat end repeat end tell I've also tried this script: tell application "Safari" repeat with i from 0 to the number of items in windows set aWindow to item i of windows repeat with j from 0 to the number of tabs in aWindow set aTab to item j of tabs of aWindow if [some condition is encountered] then aTab close end if end repeat end repeat end tell ... but it does not work either (same behavior). I tried that on my system (MacBook Pro jan 2008), as well as on a Mac Pro G5 under Tiger and the script fails on both, albeit with a much less descriptive error on Tiger. Running the script a few times closes a few tab each time until none is left, but always fails with the same error after closing a few tabs. Under Leopard I get an out of bounds error. Since I am using fast enumeration (not using "repeat from 0 to number of items in windows") I don't see how I can get an out of bounds error with this... My goal is to use the Cocoa Scripting Bridge to close tabs in Safari from my Objective-C Cocoa application but the Scripting Bridge fails in the same manner. The non-deletable tabs show as NULL in the Xcode debugger, while the other tabs are valid objects from which I can get values back (such as their title). In fact I tried with the Scripting Bridge first then told myself why not try this directly in AppleScript and I was surprised to see the same results. I must have a glaring omission or something in there... (seems like a bug in Safari AppleScript support to me... :S) I've used repeat loops and Obj-C 2.0 fast enumeration to iterate through collections before with zero problems, so I really don't see what's wrong here. Anyone can help? Thanks in advance!

    Hi stackies, I'm programmatically putting various TextViews into a LinearLayout with a horizontal orientation. After 2h of research I couldn't find out how to tell Android not to squeeze all the TextViews in one line but instead to "float" non-fitting TextViews into the next line. I am prompted to choose from Send by SMS, Send by Email, Send by Bluetooth, Send by Fring etc. How do I make such a popup, it seamed to be automatically built? Also how do I tell what message to use? And if needed how do I tell who the contact is? Maybe chooses the options based on the contact, (if has email, show email)
