  Karmic only has mumble 1.1.8, but if I want to connect to a 1.2 server I need to upgrade... So I would like to know how I can upgrade to mumble 1.2.2 without messing myself up for later when I upgrade to 10.04 and beyond... I just want a smooth transition into the next versions of mumble. Is there anyway to upgrade to this newer version and either keep it in the package manager or make it not interfere with the natural upgrades the program will later recieve from the package manager? • Configuration of Sonicwall Load Balancing

  We installed a Sonicwall NSA 240 appliance and have configured it up for our SSL VPN connection and for load balancing with 2 ADSL lines. Over the past week, I have been testing the load balancing options to optimize the connection speeds for our users - but I've run into the following: Round Robin load balancing is the ideal load balancing setting and it's roughly doubling our throughput- but, when it's active users are unable to access any SSL enabled websites such as banking, web-mail, etc. For this reason, I have been using percentage based balancing as it allows me to enable source and destination IP binding, which doesn't 'break' any secure connections but were left with the slow connection speeds we had before adding the second line. I'm looking for a method in which we can take advantage of the round robin connection speeds while allowing users to access sites with SSL certificates, all while still allowing our remote (vpn) users to connect. • Server not sending a SYN/ACK packet in response to a SYN packet

  Using iptraf, tcpdump and wireshark I can see a SYN packet coming in but only the ACK FLAG is set in reply packet. I'm running Debian 5 with kernel 2.6.36 I've turned off window_scaling and tcp_timestamps, tcp_tw_recycle and tcp_tw_reuse: cat /etc/sysctl.conf net.ipv4.tcp_tw_recycle = 0 net.ipv4.tcp_tw_reuse = 0 net.ipv4.tcp_window_scaling = 0 net.ipv4.tcp_timestamps = 0 I've attached an image of the wireshark output. http://imgur.com/pECG0.png Output to netstat netstat -natu | grep '72.23.130.104' tcp 0 0 97.107.134.212:18000 72.23.130.104:42905 SYN_RECV I've been doing everything possible to find a solution and have yet to figure out the problem, so any help/suggestions are much appreciated.   I have two wireless ADSL routers sitting right next to each other, each with his own internet connection. I'd like to be able to connect to a computer that is connected to router A from a computer that is connected to router B, while keeping both routers internet connection individually. i.e. If computer A is connected to router A, it will use router A internet connection, and a second computer, call it B, will be connected to router B, and will use router B internet connection.   Beginning with the Primavera Reporting Database 2.2\P6 Analytics 1.2 release, the first release that supported the P6 Extended Schema, a new ability was added to filter which projects could be included during an ETL run. In previous releases, all projects were included in an ETL run. Additionally, all projects with the option to enable publication are included in the ETL run by default.Because the reporting needs for P6 Extended Schema are different from those of STAR, you can define a filter that will limit the data that is included in the STAR schema. For example, your STAR schema can be filter to only include all projects in a specific Portfolio, or all projects with a project code assignment of 'For Analytics.'  Any criteria that can be defined in a Where clause and added to a view can be used to filter the projects included in the STAR schema. I highly suggest this approach when dealing with large databases. Unnecessary projects could cause the Extract portion of the ETL process to take longer. A table in STAR called etl_projectlist is the key for what projects are targeted during the ETL process. To setup the filter, perform the following steps:1. Connect to your Primavera P6 Project Management Database as Pxrptuser (extended schema owner) and create a new view:create or replace view star_project_viewasselect PROJECTOBJECTID objectidfrom projectportfolio pp, projectprojectportfolio pppwhere pp.objectid = ppp.PROJECTPORTFOLIOOBJECTIDand pp.name = 'STAR Projects'--The main field that MUST be selected in the view is the projectobjectid. Selecting any other field besides the projectobjectid will cause the view to be invalid and will not work. Any Where clause can be used, but projectobjectid is the key.2. In your STAR installation directory go the \res folder and edit the staretl.properties file.  Here you will define the view to be used.  Add the following line or update if exists:star.project.filter.ds1=star_project_view3. When running the  staretl.cmd or staretl.sh process the database link to Pxrtpuser will be accessed and this view will be used to populate the etl_projectlist table  with the appropriate projectobjectids as defined in the view created in step 1 above.

  Hi, I'm having trouble finding a VNC server for Mac OS X that allows me to connect from a Windows box with German keyboard layout. I've tried the built-in desktop sharing and several versions of Vine but all of them had problems with several keys. Does maybe anyone know about a working combination of a Mac OS X VNC server and Windows VNC client which properly supports a German keyboard layout on the client? Update: I don't think the Windows client is the problem, because I have no issues connecting to Linux boxes. And I've tried several different clients.

  Hugo Tap asked me on Twitter earlier today whether or not there existed a SSIS Dataflow Destination component that enabled one to MERGE data into a table rather than INSERT it. Its a common request so I thought it might be useful to summarise the current state of play as regards a MERGE destination for SSIS. Firstly, there is no MERGE destination component in the box; that is, when you install SSIS no MERGE Destination will be available. That being said the SSIS team have made available a MERGE destination component via Codeplex which you can get from http://sqlsrvintegrationsrv.codeplex.com/releases/view/19048. I have never used it so cannot vouch for its usefulness although judging by some of the reviews you might not want to set your expectations too high. Your mileage may vary.   In the past it has occurred to me that a built-in way to provide MERGE from the SSIS pipeline would be highly valuable. I assume that this would have to be provided by the database into which you were merging hence in March 2010 I submitted the following two requests to Connect: BULK MERGE (111 votes at the time of writing) [SSIS] BULK MERGE Destination (15 votes) If you think these would be useful feel free to vote them up and add a comment.   I think the steps are something like: Install DD-WRT on a router with an external hard-drive Install Optware to get Samba Upgrade to Samba 3.6 (the link shows Samba 3.5, but using the NSLU2 optware packages, you can get 3.6 with built-in SMB2.0) ...then a miracle occurs... Then you can use SMB2.0 to connect to your share What is step 4? I can't find it on forums, etc. Am using Microsoft Network monitor to check for SMB2.0 connection, I'm on Windows 7 and have tried network connections on wireless and gigabit wired to the router.   So I have a Debian machine and I want to transfer data on here to a Windows based FTP account. I've managed to open up firewalling for outbound FTP on the Debian source, but have never used FTP via CLI before. Does anyone know how I can go about transferring data? I am starting to get really confused with what to transfer from where. If I ssh to the Debian machine and then connect to the Windows FTP account, then try put and get commands, it never seems to recognise the path of the source files on the Debian machine.

• Direct DB to Web Server connection

  I have a database server sitting right underneath a virtual machine host server in the rack, and this vm host is primarily responsible for servers hosting a couple different web sites and app servers that all talk to databases on the other server. Right now both servers are connected to the same switch, and I'm pretty happy with the pathing. However, both servers also have an unused network port. I wondering about the potential benefits of using a short crossover or normal+auto mdix network cable to connect these two servers together directly. Is this a good idea, or would I be doing something that won't show much benefit and is just likely to trip up a future admin who's not looking for this? The biggest weakness I can see right now is that this would likely require a code change for each vm app to point to the new IP of the database server on this private little network, and if I have a problem with the virtual machine host and have to spin up it's guests elsewhere while I fix it I'll have to change this back before things will work.

  Hi guys, I have a linksys router WRT54G2 connected to a cable broadband. Just last week, everything was working perfectly - I would be able to connect my laptop to the internet using WiFi. However, starting last week, I suddenly lost my internet connection. At first I thought something was wrong with my ISP. However, when I tried connecting the cable directly to my laptop, I found out that there was no problem with the internet connection after all. It appears that it is only my router that cannot get IP address. I have already tried cloning my MAC address and reconfiguring my router using the setup CD, but nothing worked.   I am using an iMac to share a wired network connection with other devices in my house. I am using Apple's built-in sharing functionality which works very well. I have also been using Tunnelblick as an OpenVPN client. The two technologies work great when they are not used together. The moment I connect to my VPN, sharing stops working on all other devices; the whole point of this setup was for me to share my VPN connection. Is there a way to make Internet connection sharing and OpenVPN work together on the Mac? I am using Snow Leopard.

• Using ctrl-arrow keys with PuTTY and screen

  I searched and couldn't find a solution for this anywhere. I'm using PuTTY from Windows to connect to various servers where I run bash and screen. It seems bash works fine with ctrl-arrow keys to jump word-to-word on the command line but within screen it's not working. Not in screen, ctrl-left sends "^[OC and ctrl-right is "^[OD". Within screen I instead get "^[[C" and "^[[D", which appears to be the codes for just the left/right arrow keys. Is there any way to get screen to recognize ctrl-arrow keys when using PuTTY? (FYI, I don't remember having this problem when using gnu-terminal in linux instead of PuTTY).

• Electricity in VAIO laptop ports while plugged in

  I have VAIO E series (SVE) laptop. While charger plugged in, touching VGA/HDMI/USB port metal casing gives me burning sensation. So, i checked it with voltmeter and i found that while plugged in there is presences of DC +1.0 V. Same case with my friend's VAIO E Series (VPCEH). Service center says this is normal. But i do not believe them as it is not the case with Dell Inspiron. Please let me know if you are facing same problem with VAIO and is it hazardous to devices which i connect to these ports (like HDD, LED, etc)?

Unfortunately, at places over a week of data points can be missing. Gnuplot draws long lines over these intervals. How can I make gnuplot only connect points on consecutive days? • KVM Guest not reachable from host

  Hello, I'm running Ubuntu server 9.10, installed KVM etc. Created the bridge network following instructions on help.ubuntu.com/community/KVM/Networking Created a windows 2008 guest using virt-install command line (using virt-manager GUI from a remote Ubuntu desktop would not let me select the ISO location). I can however use a remote virt-manager to connect to the guest and complete the windows install. Within windows 2008 I changed the IP address but cannot ping from outside world. The bridge network appears fine - I'm not sure what else to look at!   I have my Asp.net website deployed in my IIS's Virtual directory. Usually a FTP software like File Zilla is used to upload files to a website's directory from a remote system. File Zilla asks for a Host name, Username, password to connect to the remote server. Now all I want is my users in LAN should be able to access this directory from their system using FTP software like FileZilla. So how can I provide the Host name, username and password to my website's directory. I tried to find it on google but no help. Detailed steps please. Its IIS 5.1 version.

• Teamviewer and Virtualbox issue: some keys don't work

  I use Teamviewer on a laptop to connect to a desktop computer running Debian Linux. On this desktop computer I run Windows inside a VirtualBox VM. I have no problems interacting directly with Linux, but when I try to interact with Windows inside Virtualbox, some keys simply don't work! (e.g. period, "@", quotes). Is there something I can do to make the full keyboard of my laptop work correctly with the Virtualbox VM inside the remote host? Specs: The remote host machine is an Intel i7 running Debian squeezy (64 bit) I'm using Teamviewer 7, on both the host machine and the laptop Thanks

• How do I send email with sendmail to external hosts?

  If I wanted to send an email to a user on the same linux machine, I can run: echo -e "Subject: Foo\n\nBar\n" | sendmail -v jacob But if I run: echo -e "Subject: Foo\n\nBar\n" | sendmail -v [email protected] It will give me the error: 050 >>> MAIL From:<jacob@mu> SIZE=321 050 550 5.1.8 Cannot resolve your domain {mx-us011} If my machine has access to the internet but is behind a router and has no domain associated with it, can I use sendmail to send mail to this address? Do I need to connect through an SMTP server? Can I do that with sendmail? If I use sendmail's -f option and put my gmail account there it will work. Can (or should I) I use my IP address? echo -e "Subject: Foo\n\nBar\n" | sendmail -v -f [email protected] [email protected] I'm a bit lost on how all this comes together in sending mail from the command line.

• Visual SVN server Running but cannot access / browse repositories

  Operating System: Windows Web Server 2008 R2 Visual SVN Version: 2.5.7 Subversion: 1.7.7 Apache: 2.2.22 I freshly installed the Visual SVN latest version on the server and created one repository in it. In the server management window, it shows that the server is up and running but when I try to browse it in a web browser, it doesn't respond. I am not able to import my existing code into the repository: Error: Cannot connect to server open/browse the repository with either command localhost:81/svn OR http://www.myserver.com:81/svn OR http:// myIPAddress:81/svn Visual SVN log is clean. The last information in the server log is that "The server is listening to port 81.
