  I have 2 columns in Excel: the first contains a list of employee names who perform function A, and the second contains a list of employee names who perform function B. What I want is to identify, in one cell, if there is one employee whose name appears in both the first and second columns. It does not have to show which name(s) appears in both columns, it just needs to identify IF there are any names that appear in both columns.

• Rails: unexpected behavior updating a shared instance

  I have a User object, that is related to a Post object via two different association paths: Post --(has_many)-- comments --(belongs to)-- writer (of type User) Post --(belongs to)-- writer (of type User) Say the following hold: user1.name == "Bill" post1.comments[1].writer == user1 post1.writer == user1 Now when I retrieve the post1 and its comments from the database and I update post1.comments[1].writer like so: post1.comments[1].writer.name = "John" I would expect post1.writer to equal "John" too. But it doesn't! It still equals "Bill". So there seems to be some caching going on, but the kind I would not expect. I would expect Rails to be clever enough to load exactly one instance of the user with name "Bill"; instead is appears to load two individual ones: one for each association path. Can someone explain how this works exactly and how I am to handle these types of situations the "Rails way"?

  Ok, So I am basically trying to get a home server pc up that will provide Domain name services, act as Mail server and web server. I have one static IP, well it's not officially static but hasn't changed in two years so I'll call it static. I have done the following: Configured router NAT/virtual port forward UDP/TCP port 53 to the internal IP of my server 192.168.1.16, in adapter settings specified the manual settings: 192.168.1.16 IP, gateway 192.168.1.1, Subnet: 255.255.255.0 and loopback DNS: 127.0.0.1 Using my public my public IP Checked using http://www.canyouseeme.org/ that port 53 is open and is not being blocked by my ISP. It can see services on this port. Registered Domain name (mydomain.com.au) Updated whois database through the domain registrars site and registered NameServer names: ns0.mydomain.com.au and ns2.mydomain.com.au, both have been associated with my single public IP. (Waited 24 hours) Update the nameserver for mydomain.com.au: primary ns0.mydomain.com.au secondary: ns2.mydomain.com.au (waited 24+ hours) Installed Server 2008 R2, install web server role and DNS role. Webserver works when I enter my public IP into browser of any PC/mobile, get IIS7 welcome page.   I have a simple form showing products from my database. Each product has a foreign key to manufacturer_id . I would like to filter my form by manufacturer_id instead of default product_id. How I can do that ? I know I must create a macro. Also I've already created a query, that takes manufacturer's name as argument and returns manufacturer_id. So basically it should work in this way, that when I press 'Filter' button on my form, it runs macro that opens my query asking for manufacturer's name. And when the name is returned the whole form is filtered (so somewhere there should be comparison between manufacturer_id in product and that returned from query, but I can't manage to do that).   I'm trying to create a Lookup Field as a Site Column via CAML. The list I want to use as the source of the lookup is created in the Feature Receiver so I don't know it's ID. I've read several blog posts that indicate that I can just put the path to the list in the List attribute. It seems from the comments on these post that this solution works for some people but not for others. I'm in the latter group.   I curious to know how people are using table alias. The other developers where I work always use table alias, and always use the alias of a, b, c, ect. Here's an example SELECT a.TripNum, b.SegmentNum, b.StopNum, b.ArrivalTime FROM Trip a, Segment b WHERE a.TripNum = b.TripNum I disagree with them, and think table alias should be use more sparingly. I think it should be used when including the same table twice in a query, or when the table name is very long and using a shorter name in the query will make the query easier to read. I also think the alias should be a good name instead of a letter. In the above example if I felt I needed to use 1 letter table alias I would use t for the Trip table and s for the segment table.

• Localhost has just stopped working (using xampp)

  I installed Xampp to use for local development of a Drupal site. Its been working fine out of the box until now. The main Xampp localhost welcome menu loads, however my subdirectory (localhost/drupal) doesn't. It just spins in the browser for ages and nothing happens. Just a blank screen. I've tried the edit people suggest in the hosts file but that hasn't work and I'm getting no errors so not sure what to do. Anyone have any ideas what might be wrong? • wordpress servlet mapping not working

  I have the latest wordpress running in tomcat 6.0.26 virtual host with Quercus Servlet php servlet. It works, except when I try to use perm links. A url such as /index.php/my-page-name doesn't seem to ever hit the php server. It gets a browser error that request resource is not available. It's like it isn't matching the servlet urlmapping. I'm using a standard method in the web.xml <servlet-mapping> <servlet-name>Quercus Servlet</servlet-name> <url-pattern>*.php</url-pattern> </servlet-mapping> I see nothing showing up either in the tomcat logs when I use that url above. Any ideas please?

My webservers are 2 single NIC lighttpd and one dual nic lighttpd. server1 in this example is running squid on port 80 and lighttpd on port 8080 (just to test) Requirements: All 3 webservers running lighttpd should be balanced two option for load balancing: Best would be if server1 is busy server2 takes over, if server2 is busy server3 takes over, etc.. Round robin style evenly distributed load. Eg server1 takes first call, server2 second etc.. All requests should be treated the same way (no url rewriting or so on) Sent host headers have to be redirected to every server as http host header, speaking of "server1", "server1.company.internal" and "10.211.1.1". Only if the first server is killed in any way the second will take over. I have seen the others working at some point, but definitely not as the intended load balancing described above. If the cache_peer_access is not defined sometimes the wrong hostname is sent to the backend webserver and this always depends on the defaultsite= parameter. Probably because the host header on the request to squid is not set and its replaced by defaultsite. Leaving out defaultsite didnt solve the problem. The only workaround i found for this is the current approach with cache_peer_access. Questions: Does the cache_peer_access influence the round-robin? Is there a better workaround to pass the host header to the backed webservers? Which parameters do increase the speed of load balancing or does anyone have a better approach? -Martin

I have to enumerate all dialogs with same title and make some tests against each of such dialogs. If I call: dialog = app['Window Name'] pywinauto returns a WindowSpecification object which is useful along with accessing controls by name. When I call: dialogs = app.windows_(title='Window Name') pywinauto returns me a list of HwndWrapper instances which are not so useful. How to obtain a list of windows with specified title but as WindowSpecification objects?

Should I see queries being cached without configuring an out of process L2 cache?   I am using the title helper from the 3.2 edition of the Ruby on Rails Tutorial by Michael Hartl and just realized a snag with the & character showing up in the title as &Amp instead. The relevant snippet of code is here Official Sample App 2nd Edition The problem. I have a School model and am using the School name on the Show view as follows: <% provide(:title, @school.name) %> If my School has a & in the name, it is being replaced with &Amp in the browser title. Ryan Bates Railscasts site has a similiar title helper that solves this issue this way but it is using content_for instead of provide. Trying to adjust the Rails Tutorial helper, but having trouble getting it work properly. Works great expect for this issue.

  When I do this: Cat x = Session.Load<Cat>(123); x.Name = "fritz"; Session.Flush(); NHibernate detects the change and UPDATEs the DB. But, when I do this: Cat x = new Cat(); Session.Save(x); x.Name = "fritz"; Session.Flush(); I get NULL for name, because that's what was there when I called Session.Save(). Why doesn't NHibernate detect the changes - or better yet, take the values for the INSERT statement at the time of Flush()?
