So far, I've done the following: Create a new project; an iPhone OS window based app. Go to target info- under packaging, change the wrapper extension from app to framework Go to Action-new build phase - copy headers. Change roles of headers to 'public' From my application, I add the framework to the frameworks group.

  I use to create an application that uses the windows speech recognition engine or the SAPI. its like a game for pronounciation that it give you score when you pronounce it correctly. but when i started experiments with SAPI, it has poor recognition unless if you load a grammar on it (XML) its give best recognition result. but the problem now is closest pronounciation from the input text will be recognize. for example: Database - dedebase - correct. even if you mispronounce it. it gives you correct answers. without using the xml grammar when you say database it give you "in the base/the base/data base/etc..." please post your answer,suggestion,clarication. votes for best answer. is it posible or not? by the way i use delphi compiler on the projects....

• CoreFoundation Lite on Linux and Android

  I would like to use Apple's CoreFoundation library on linux and android. The source code is available here, but there is very little documentation on how to build it on Linux. As far as I could figure out, building is done through a script called BuildCFLite. I grepped for DEPLOYMENT_TARGET ./CFUtilities.c:#if DEPLOYMENT_TARGET_MACOSX || DEPLOYMENT_TARGET_EMBEDDED || DEPLOYMENT_TARGET_LINUX || DEPLOYMENT_TARGET_FREEBSD and Linux seems to be supported at first site by setting -DDEPLOYMENT_TARGET_LINUX, but some of the compiler flags in that script are not available on linux, so when I try to build I get an error. Does anybody have experience building the latest version of CoreFoundation for Linux? Also what are the dependencies for building CoreFoundation? Would it be feasible to use it in the Android NDK?

• How to efficiently manage files on a filesystem in Java?

  I am creating a few JAX-WS endpoints, for which I want to save the received and sent messages for later inspection. To do this, I am planning to save the messages (XML files) into filesystem, in some sensible hierarchy. There will be hundreds, even thousands of files per day. I also need to store metadata for each file. I am considering to put the metadata (just a couple of fields) into database table, but the XML file content itself into files in a filesystem in order not to bloat the database with content data (that is seldomly read). Is there some simple library that helps me in saving, loading, deleting etc. the files? It's not that tricky to implement it myself, but I wonder if there are existing solutions? Just a simple library that already provides easy access to filesystem (preferrably over different operating systems). Or do I even need that, should I just go with raw/custom Java?

So my problem is, that json string is not returned in its pure format. I do not want that xml version and xmlns string. I plan to consume the web service on Android later. Can anyone help me? Thanks

  After hearing about git commit hooks, I was thinking maybe there are such things as email hooks... Is it possible for me to build a program that says "hey, you just received an email, now run this ruby script"? Something like a GMail Web Hook. Is there anything out there like that?   My blog is hosted on Blogger and I frequently post code snippets in C / C# / Java / XML etc. but I find the snippet gets "mangled". Are there any web sites that I could use to parse the snippet beforehand and sort out the formatting, convert XML "<" to "<" etc. There are a numbers of questions around this area on SO but I couldn't find any that address this question directly. Edit: For @Rich answer, site states "To display the formatted code on your site, you need to get this CSS stylesheet, and add a reference to it in the section of your page". That's the problem - you can't do this on Blogger AFAIK.

  This is based on a past exam question. The question is asking to describe the four types of message available using JMS. The problem is it says the four, not just four. So it assumes their is only four, no more no less. However according to this site their seems to be five; streams maps text objects bytes *Another book states that XML is another potential type in future versions of JMS. Is XML already available?   There is a library in python that I love called requests. requests is a http client build on urllib3, top-notch :) (http://docs.python-requests.org/en/latest/) I am looking for something similar in ruby, basically what I need is : Upload files support (multipart/form-data) Easy get/post Cookies can be passed from a response object to a request object (build manually login script) Stable and Flexible Sessions support (to not have to handle cookies manually if we don't have too) I've looked at Typhoeus, but the code example in the home page doesn't work (they have moved code along and the get method is not longer directly accessible like that), so it's not starting well! :) Curb seems nice and I like curl, there is alson RestClient which seems popular and em-http seems pretty fast according to benchmark. There is a aso Patron and CurlFu which I haven't have the time to try. And of course Net:Http. But it doesn't seems to have a main stream solution that everyone point. I think a lot of people have been in my situation and I wonder what they have choosen and why?

  I followed the Maven tutorial to the letter but I still can't get Maven installed. When I run the following in command prompt: E:\Documents and Settings\zach>mvn --version I get: 'mvn' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. I navigated to the maven install folder and ran mvn --version and got: E:\java resources\apache-maven-2.2.0\bin>mvn --version ERROR: JAVA_HOME is set to an invalid directory. JAVA_HOME = "E:\Sun\SDK\jdk\bin" Please set the JAVA_HOME variable in your environment to match the location of your Java installation but when I run java -version I get: java version "1.6.0_14" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_14-b08) Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 14.0-b16, mixed mode) So I do have Java installed. Anyone know what the problem is?

  In the software world, it seems to me that SCM is an unfortunately overloaded acronym. It can mean:- Source Code Management Software Configuration Management Which one of these is the dominant term? Do they mean the same thing? To me Source Code Management is essentially synonymous with Version Control. Whereas Software Configuration Management is a larger subject, which potentially includes Build and Release Management as well. However looking on Wikipedia, it lists Subversion as a Software Configuration Management tool, which is at most only tangentially true. Build and Software Management has come up before, but nothing definitive has been said on the matter, unfortunately.

• PHP File Serving Script: Unreliable Downloads?

  This post started as a question on ServerFault ( http://serverfault.com/questions/131156/user-receiving-partial-downloads ) but I determined that our php script was the culprit. So I'm issuing an updated question here about what I believe is the actual issue. I am using a php script to verify permissions and then serve up a file for users of my website to download. Most of the time, this works, but recently one user has been seeing problems with larger downloads. He is only getting ~80% of downloads for files that are 100MB in size. Also, all downloads from this script fail to report a filesize. Further, tests revealed that the same user COULD reliably download each of the failed files if given a direct link (at which point the filesize is reported). Here's the relevant snippet of code that we are using to serve the file: header("Content-type:$contenttype"); $len = filesize($filename); header("Content-Length: $len"); header("Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=".$title.".".$ext); readfile($filename); Note that $contenttype, $filename, $title, and $ext are all set correctly before we get here. These have been triple-checked. None of them are the problem. Also, $len does provide the correct filesize. While researching this issue, I came across this post: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1334471/content-length-header-always-zero It seems that I am encountering the same issue. When I use the script, I get chunked encoding on the file and no size is set for content-length. I'm hypothesizing that something is going wrong on the large downloads, leading him to get a zero-length chunk before the end of the file.   I'm using mod_rewrite to map my old directory structure to a new one. I have the following rule in my top-level .htaccess file, and it works: RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} /blog/archives/(.*) RewriteRule ^.*$ /archives/%1 [L,R=301] As you can guess, this takes http://example.com/blog/archives/00001.php and redirects it to http://example.com/archives/00001.php. But when I add these rewrite rules to the .htaccess file in the /blog directory RewriteEngine on RewriteRule atom.xml$ /atom.xml [L,R=301] the top-level redirect no longer works. If I move the rule in the /blog .htaccess file to the top-levle file both rules work. Can someone explain what is happening here?

• Minimal Lunix distribution with sshd and apt

  When I signed up for my Debian Linux VPS hosting and first logged on and invoked ps aux, there was the only user process running: sshd. As I can see, this was minimal Linux with only two things installed and configured: sshd and apt (plus all dependencies, of course). I want to build (or use existing) similar Linux distro, any advice on how to build (or pick) one? Googling "minimum linux", or "linux with sshd only" usually brings up Debian's netinstall, which is not what I want. Thanks in advance.

• How do I do automatic data serialization of data objects in Haskell

  One of the huge benefits in languages that have some sort of reflection/introspecition is that objects can be automatically constructed from a variety of sources. For example in Java I can use the same objects for persisting to a db (with Hibernate) serializing to XML (with JAXB) or serializing to JSON (json-lib). You can do the same in Ruby and Python also usually following some simple rules for properties or annotations for Java. Thus I don't need lots "Domain Transfer Objects". I can concentrate on the domain I am working in. It seems in very strict FP like Haskell and Ocaml this is not possible. Particularly Haskell. The only thing I have seen is doing some sort of preprocessing or meta-programming (ocaml). Is it just accepted that you have to do all the transformations from the bottom upwards? In other words you have to do lot of boring work to turn a data type in haskell into JSON/XML/DB Row object and back again into a data object.

  I'm publishing an open-source library on CodePlex, and want the dll files to have strong names so that they can be added to GAC. What's the best option for signing? Should I use SNK? If so, everyone have access to the key. I don't have a problem with everyone having access, but is it a good approach? Should I use PFX? If so, does it mean that other people downloading the source code are not able to build the solution? What I like to do is that I am the only one person to have access to the key, so that the signed assemblies also have a level of authenticity, but meanwhile don't prevent other developers to download, build, or change the source code for themselves, and be able to post changes for the main project.

  I am learning OpenGL by following the redbook. When I come to around page 90, I need use glGenBuffers(); Then I need install "glew". By following the steps in www.cs.uiowa.edu/~cwyman/classes/common/howto/winGLUT.html I download glew.zip from glew.sourceforge.net/ and unpack the files. I put glew.h in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.0A\Include and put glew32.lib in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.0A\Lib and put glew32.dll in C:\Windows\System32. After that, I build my project in VS 2010 and in Linker-input, I add dependencies glew32.lib. But when I build it, I have error unresolved external symbol _imp_glewInit I spend whole day to search solutions, but did not find one. Hope someone can help me with this.

  Hello everyone. I'll cut right to the chase. Right now I am developing a web based application. It has a PHP REST based architecture that serves up XML documents. On many of these documents attributes are hex encoded picture strings. On the client side jQuery AJAX fetches an XML document with a picture in it. I need to display said picture in some <img> tags. However my knowledge on such methods is lacking so here I am asking for help. Goal: JavaScript String variable in hex or base64 HTML displayed image.   In a spring servlet xml file, I'm using org.springframework.scheduling.quartz.SchedulerFactoryBean to regularly fire a set of triggers. <bean class="org.springframework.scheduling.quartz.SchedulerFactoryBean"> <property name="triggers"> <list> <ref local="AwesomeTrigger" /> <ref local="GreatTrigger" /> <ref local="FantasticTrigger"/> </list> </property> </bean> The issue is that in different environments, I don't want certain triggers firing. Is there a way to include some sort of configuration or variable defined either in my build.properties for the environment or in a spring custom context properties file that assists the bean xml to determine which triggers should be included in the list? That way, for example, AwesomeTrigger would be called in development but not qa.
