  With .net 3.5, there is a SyndicationFeed that will load in a RSS feed and allow you to run LINQ on it. • UIActivityIndicatorView is not display at the right time

  I'm making a form that allows the user to enter datas in my IOS application. This form allows the user to enter a lot of repetive datas. So, sometimes, the process takes time and I would like to display a UIActivityIndicatorView during this process. Unfortunalty the spinner appears only one second or less at the end of the process, not at the beginning as expected. • Update iPhone UIProgressView during NSURLConnection download.

  I am using this code: NSURLConnection *oConnection=[[NSURLConnection alloc] initWithRequest:oRequest delegate:self]; to download a file, and I want to update a progress bar on a subview that I load. For that, I use this code: - (void)connection:(NSURLConnection *)connection didReceiveData:(NSData *)data { [oReceivedData appendData:data]; float n = oReceivedData.length; float d = self.iTotalSize; NSNumber *oNum = [NSNumber numberWithFloat:n/d]; self.oDPVC.oProgress.progress = [oNum floatValue]; } The subview is oDPVC, and the progress bar on it is oProgress. Setting the progress property does not update the control. From what I have read on the Web, lots of people want to do this and yet there is not a complete, reliable sample. Also, there is much contradictory advice. Some people think that you don't need a separate thread. Some say you need a background thread for the progress update. Some say no, do other things in the background and update the progress on the main thread. I've tried all the advice, and none of it works for me. One more thing, maybe this is a clue. I use this code to load the subview during applicationDidFinishLaunching: self.oDPVC = [[DownloadProgressViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"DownloadProgressViewController" bundle:nil]; [window addSubview:self.oDPVC.view]; In the XIB file (which I have examined in both Interface Builder and in a text editor) the progress bar is 280 pixels wide. But when the view opens, it has somehow been adjusted to maybe half that width. Also, the background image of the view is default.png. Instead of appearing right on top of the default image, it is shoved up about 10 pixels, leaving a white bar across the bottom of the screen. Maybe that's a separate issue, maybe not.

• jQuery Autocomplete - Multicolumn and Return Data rather than Value

  I am currently using the DevBridge jQuery Autocomplete plugin - it works fine as is, however I would like to display the returned information in a multi-column view, but yet when clicked only return the first value. REFERENCEID | POSTCODE | ADDRESS_LINE_1 | SURNAME I would have liked to wrap the whole return up as a <table> but I can't figure out where to put the start <table> and end </table> tags, or do I just replace | with </div><div>. Then, when an item is selected, instead of returning REFERENCEID | POSTCODE | ADDRESS_LINE_1 | SURNAME I would just like to see REFERENCEID

• Dynamically created LinkButton not firing any events

  I'm customising the Group Headers on a Telerik RadGrid by injecting a LinkButton into it during the ItemDataBound event. The button renders perfectly, but I can't get it to hit any event handlers. • Iframe src set dynamically through JavaScript is being executed twice on Internet Explorer

  Hello Everyone, I am encountering a very annoying problem with IE. Basically I need to set the source of an IFrame using JavaScript, however the source document is being executed twice not once during each call. The simplified HTML code is pasted below (I simplified it so that readers can understand it quickly. The source is being set through JavaScript since it will contain dynamic content): <html> <head> <title>Iframe test</title> </head> <body> <iframe id="testIframe" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" src="" width="800" height="600"></iframe> <script language="JavaScript"> document.getElementById("testIframe").src = "http://localhost/test.php"; </script> </body> </html> In this example, test.php inserts a record inside a local database once called. Whenever the page above is called using IE, two rows are being inserted on most occasions (sometimes only 1 row is inserted but this is not the norm). I tested the same script on Chrome and Opera and it works correctly on them so this must be an IE issue. If is set the src directly inside the iframe tag IE starts behaving correctly, however I need to be able to build the URL using javascript. Has anyone encountered this issue? and does anyone know of a solution/workaround? Thanks and Regards Pierre

• Add inset box-shadow on Google Maps element

  I am willing to add some inset box-shadow to a tag that is containing a Google Maps element. However, it seems nothing happens, probably because Google loads some other div's in the original element, hence covering the generated box-shadow. How can I achieve this effect? Right now when I click the area defined in MXML as <components:PaintArea width="100%" height="100%" id="paint-a"></PaintArea> it shows nothing; however, the actionlistener is getting triggered and an element is being added to the group. Not sure exactly what is going on... perhaps for some reason it doesn't think the element is drawable? • How do I use DomainContext.Load in my ViewModel?

  I'm trying to use RIA services to provide data to my Silverlight application by calling DomainContext.Load to retrieve a collection of widgets. I want to expose this collection through a property of the ViewModel so I can bind a control to the collection in my page. I think my approach must be fundamentally wrong because Load is called asynchronously and is therefore not available when my page loads and the control tried to bind. Can someone please show me the right way to do this? • WPF DatePicker IsEnabled property not changing appearance

  I think I have found an issue with the DatePicker in the toolkit, perhaps some of you gurus can check it out. The issue is when setting the IsEnabled property of the DatePicker. If set in XAML, it stays grey even if you set the IsEnabled to true at run time. The same goes for the other way around should it start off being enabled. • Adding visible "Markers" to represent Geopoints to a MapView using ItemizedOverlay in Android

  Hello, I am building an application which stores GPS locations in a SQLite database and then outputs the data onto a MapView using an Overlay by drawing a red line between the points. I want to be able to show graphical markers (images) for each of these points as well as the red line. Now, the problem is that when I set paint style to be FILL or FILL_AND_STROKE nothing shows up on the screen, but when I set it to be just stroke, and set stroke width, it acctually draws what it is supposed to draw. Now, I looked for solution, but nothing comes up. Can you tell me if I something missed to set in the code itself, or are there some sorts of constraints when drawing on Overlay canvases? Thanks

• Confused about home screen widget size in normal screen and larget screen

  I am designing a home screen widget. The widget layout file is like below. <RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:id="@+id/widget" android:layout_width="240dip" android:layout_height="200dip" android:background="@drawable/base_all" /> I ran this widget on a HTC Hero device, which has a screen of 320 pixels * 480 pixels with mdpi. It ran perfect on HTC Hero. The widget takes 3 cells * 2 cells space, i.e. 240 pixels * 200 pixels. Then I ran this widget on a Nexus One device, which has a screen of 480 pixels * 800 pixels, mdpi. Since Nexus One also is mdpi, so I though 240dip is equivalent to 240 pixels on Nexus One and 200dip is equivalent to 200 pixels on Nexus One, so the widget will not take 3 cells * 2 cells space on Nexus One device. To my surprise, when running on Nexus One device, the widget take exact 3 cells * 2 cells, about 360 pixels * 300 pixels, on Nexus One device. I am confused. The layout xml above specifies 240dip in width and 200dip in height for the widget, but why did it take 360 pixels * 300 pixels on Nexus One Device? What am I missing? Thanks.

The relation "companyRowByBuyFromCompanyFK" exists, as in Deals_SelectionChanged I can access companyRowByBuyFromCompanyFK property of the Deals row, and I also can access the CompanyName propert of that row. Is the reason why this is not working because XAML binding uses the [] indexer? Rather than properties on the CompanyRows in my DataTable? At the moment im getting values such as - TGS - 3 - TGS - 4 What would be the best way to accomplish this? Make a converter to convert foreign keys using Table being referenced as custom parameter. Create Table View for each table? This would be long winded as I have quite a large number of tables that have foreign keys.

  Good day all I have the following question: I would like to use Chart from Windows Forms due to the fact that it allows to build much more types of graphical visualisation that one from WPF Toolkit does. So, I am adding Chart control for Windows Forms as a child element into the WindowsFormsHost. But, when I run the application I and all my clients see only white area. Though, any other Windows Forms Control works great in Windows Forms Host. What is wrong with the Chart control? • UIWebView rotation and memory problem

If I remove the autoresizing mask, specifically the UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleWidth (I have tryed with only UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleLeftMargin and UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleRightMargin with no problems), the memory warning stops, and the app does not crash anymore. If I remove all autoresizing mask, and set the new webView frame in didRotate or willRotate, I got the same warnings as using the UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleWidth. There's a app, called Atomic Web that could open the same XHTML and rotate with no memory warnings, and safari can open it as well, but if I create a project with only that UIWebView, the app sometimes crashes. Someone knows what this may be? Can I set the webview frame in other way? Why can't I use the autoresizing mask? Thanks for your attention.
