• GWT in its web-mode throws StatusCodeException but in its hosted-mode , it's working perfect

  Hi to all, I am new to this forum. Actually I have an issue here regarding my application which is hibernate+struts based application. Recently we have decided to integrate GWT into our application. We are using gwt 1.5.3 build. We have set up everything exactly as we find in documentation and various blogs. Yeah I am now in a very nervy state as gwt in its web- mode is treating me in a very embarassing manner. But it is compiling and working perfectly fine in its hosted-mode and everything works fine as we expected and designed. When I try to integrate GWT with our application i.e. running in tomcat (http://localhost:8080/myapps/example.do? reqCode=takeMeToGWT&userId=12&templateId=10). The gwt page is loaded partially and in the midst it throws an exception i.e. StatusCodeException. This doesn't happen when I run the gwt application in hosted-mode ( http://localhost:8888/com.myapp.gwt.MyApp/Home.html ) . I am using Intellij Idea 8, struts 1.3 ,hibernate 3 and tomcat 5.5 . • Java applet loading images from external jars

  I have a jar on a server, and users should be able to develop extensions for it. Therefore the jars main class should be extended and some resources should be added to a second user created jar which will be loaded from another server or locally. Now I have problems accessing the resources (images) from the user loaded jars. Heres is the structure: My Server: game.jar containing game.class images.class ... image1.png (...) Local: user.jar containing: user.class extends game userimage.png The extension is loaded via Greasemonkey, it modifies the "archive" attribute to "/home/username/user.jar, game.jar" and the "code" attribute to "user.class". The user should be able to overwrite already defined images. If the image does not exist in game.jar, it is loaded correctly from user.jar. But the images loaded early in the game are always loaded from the game.jar, others seem to be overwritten correctly by the user. Is there a way to make sure they are always loaded in the correct order? This might be because of some caching mechanism. Because Greasemonkey removes the game from the page, changes the archive and code and reinsert it, the game is loaded without a mod for a brief second. In that time, images are loaded as expected from game jar, but those are the ones not being overwritable by the user. But how to avoid it? Another thing: If I overwrite the "run" method in user.class, the game is unable to load any image at all. Not from the user.jar and not from the game.jar. Java doesn't find the image, as the URL object "getClass().getResource(imagename)" returns with null. I tried to overwrite the image.class, but that doesn't fix the problem, unless I overwrite every class from game.class involved into calling the image.class

  I'm trying to debug someone else's code and having trouble figuring out what's wrong. When I run rake, one of the errors I get is: 2) Error: test_math(TestRubyUnits): NoMethodError: undefined method `unit_sin' for CMath:Module /home/user/ruby-units/lib/ruby_units/math.rb:21:in `sin' This is the function that calls the method: assert_equal Math.sin(pi), Math.sin("180 deg".unit) And this is what the class looks like: module Math alias unit_sin sin def sin(n) Unit === n ? unit_sin(n.to('radian').scalar) : unit_sin(n) end alias unit_cos cos def cos(n) Unit === n ? unit_cos(n.to('radian').scalar) : unit_cos(n) end ... module_function :unit_sin module_function :sin module_function :unit_cos module_function :cos ... end (The ellipsis means "more of the same"). As far as I can see, this is valid Ruby code. Is there something I'm missing here that's causing the error, or could the error be coming from something else? Update: I'm wondering if the problem has to do with namespaces. This code is attempting to extend CMath, so perhaps the alias and/or module_function isn't actually getting into CMath, or something like that....

  Hi all, I am having an issue when using jeditable to edit a cell in a table. The project is the MVC 2 web application and the table has been put on the standard about page. How do i tell the script to call a specific method in the controller ? because it is currently just loading the entire page into the cell.   when i print dictionary i got this error.. here my dictTf is mutabledictionay.. when i m in home page i selct few fields and click find. so new view comes with the result.. now i go back and again click find without changing anything.. now comes proper.. now at this moment when i go back it shows this in the dictionay and EXEC_BAD_ACCESS eror comes... • Can't diagnose my MySQL root user problem

  Hi all, I have a problem with the MySQL root user in My MySQL setup, and I just can't for the life of me work out how to fix it. It seems that I have somehow messed up the root user, and my access to databases is now very erratic. For reference, I'm using MAMP on OS X to provide the MySQL server. I'm not sure how much that matters though - I'd guess that whatever I've done will require a command-line fix to solve it. I can start MySQL using MAMP as usual, and access databases using the 'standard' users I have created for my PHP apps. However, the root user, which I use in my MySQL GUI client, and also in phpMyAdmin, can only access the "information_schema" database, as well as two I have created manually, and presumably (and mistakenly) left permissions wide open for. My 15 or so other databases cannot be accessed my the root user. When I load up phpMyAdmin, the home screen says: "Create new database: No Privileges". I certainly did at some stage change my root user's password using the MAMP dialog. But I don't remember if I did anything else which might have caused this problem. I've tried changing the password again, and there seems to be no change in the issue. I've also tried resetting root password using the command line, including starting mysql manually with --skip-grant-tables then flushing privs, but again, nothing seems to fix the issue. I've come to the end of my ideas, and would very much appreciate some step-by-step advice and diagnosis from one of the experts here! Many thanks for your help.

  I am trying to build a website with mysql and php. This is the first site I have attempted so I want to write a little plan and get some feedback. The site allows users to add some text in a text field as a “comment”. Once the comment has been entered into the site it is added to the database where it can be voted for by other users. When a new comment has been added to the database it needs to create a new page, e.g. www.xxxxx.com/commentname or www.xxxxxx.com/?id=99981. There will be a list of "Comments" in the database along with the number of votes for each comment. The home page will have two functions. 1) Allow users to add a "comment" 2) Display two tables, each with 20 rows containing most "popular comments" and "recent comments" Each comment will generate its one page where the comment will be displayed. Here users can read the comment and Vote for the comment if they wish. Please help me out by explaining how to do the following. -Generate a new page whenever a comment is added to the database -Add a vote to the vote count in the comment database. -Display the top 20 most popular comments as per number of votes.

• Custom Server to communicate with my software?

  I am working on a major project that I need for work. I am working on a project that requires software validation. I would like this to be handled by a custom server I will write in Python, this server will be the "gateway" between the user and product activation. The software program will be purchased from other companies in volume licensing. So this is what I need the server to do: 1). The user clicks to activate their software. (easy, all is good so far) 2). The software gets the distributor's id from another online server. ( this is also easy, and already coded.) 3). Then, the software asks my custom server if the distributor is allowed to activate anymore copies of the software. 4). The server will then check ( an online encoded text file ) to see if the distributor can or can't. If they can, it will tell the software that registration can proceede, at which point the software will pass the software serial number to the server. I have done my best to explain what I am trying to accomplish, but if something is not quite sensible, please let me know. • Need to find number of new unique ID numbers in a MySQL table

  I have an iPhone app out there that "calls home" to my server every time a user uses it. On my server, I create a row in a MySQL table each time with the unique ID (similar to a serial number) aka UDID for the device, IP address, and other data. Table ClientLog columns: Time, UDID, etc, etc. What I'd like to know is the number of new devices (new unique UDIDs) on a given date. I.e. how many UDIDs were added to the table on a given date that don't appear before that date? Put plainly, this is the number of new users I gained that day. This is close, I think, but I'm not 100% there and not sure it's what I want... SELECT distinct UDID FROM ClientLog a WHERE NOT EXISTS ( SELECT * FROM ClientLog b WHERE a.UDID = b.UDID AND b.Time <= '2010-04-05 00:00:00' ) I think the number of rows returned is the new unique users after the given date, but I'm not sure. And I want to add to the statement to limit it to a date range (specify an upper bound as well).

I've come across an error that I'm not sure how to rectify. System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. • iPodMusicPlayer playbackState inaccurate after odd conditions

  I have a simple music player app that runs into a really weird problem. First of all, while playing music and in the locked state, I allow the user to double click the Home button and use the locked iPod music controls. I did notice however that while in the locked state, my app doesn't receive any of its registered notifications. For the most part, this is fine anyway. But, if the user is playing music for at least 15 minutes (I'm not sure why but any less and this problem doesn't occur) while in the locked state, and using some kind of headphone or aux jack, then unplugs the headphone/aux jack while the device is still playing music, the iPodMusicPlayer will auto-pause. Which is exactly what I would want it to do, but after this happens, when the user unlocks their device and gives focus to the app again, the iPodMusicPlayer's playbackState is inaccurate. - (IBAction)playPause:(id)sender { if ([musicPlayer playbackState] == MPMusicPlaybackStatePlaying) { [musicPlayer pause]; } else { [musicPlayer play]; } } where musicPlayer = [MPMusicPlayerController iPodMusicPlayer]. Under normal circumstances, this runs perfectly fine. But after these conditions, my breakpoint will hit the condition for MPMusicPlaybackStatePlaying while the music is paused, and vice versa. The only way I've been able to fix this is to either make a new selection of music or to terminate the app and reopen. I've tried tons of a workarounds to fix this problem programmatically, but nothing turns out a 100% bug free fix. Does anyone have any clue as to why this happens in the first place?

  I wrote a simple Cuke feature for a form on a demo site. The feature looks like this. Given I am on the home page When I set the "Start Date" to "2010-10-25" And I set the "End Date" to "2011-1-3" And I press the "Go" button Then I should see "Cake Shop" The idea is that after I press the Go button, a new page will load, showing a list of results, and one of the results should be "Cake Shop." But I have not managed to get this to work. Is there something that I am missing? Edit: here is the step definitions.   I am having a strange problem while doing ssh. I am not sure where the term Unmatched ` is coming from. What I need to do is run script that logs information of what I am doing on the terminal to text file. After ssh - Sun Microsystems Inc.   Hi, I were asked to do an StringToInt / Int.parse function on the white board in an job interview last week and did not perform very good but I came up with some sort of solution. Later when back home I made one in Visual Studion and I wonder if there are any better solution than mine below. According to my initial Brain Storming, I have decided that I will use SilverLight(In Browser Or Out of Browser) as Front end [I have no issue in that]. I m more concern in back end. Either I make an handler or make a WCF service or use full duplex service and use pooling mechanism for that. As a random thought I come up with a Timer type logic that will fire every after 10 seconds at clients end and get status like Is it now Its turn to roll a dice Home many user left (in case if some of them left) What are connected user status in game like there score/points ect and update game view according to this at his end Kindly place your best answers here that will help me to learn this.   Javascript and jQuery (Fancybox) question I'm using the Javascript function below for Twitter sharing (as well as other services; the function code is simplified to just Twitter for this question) that grabs the to-be-shared page URL and title and it is invoked in the link with onclick. That results in the Twitter share page loading in a pop up browser window, i.e.<img src="/images/twitter_16.png" onclick="share.tw()" /> In order to be consistent with other design aspects of the site, what I'd like to be able to do is have the Twitter share page open not in a standard browser window but in a Fancybox (jQuery) window. Fancybox can load an external page in an iFrame when the img or href link contains a class (in this case class="iframe" ) in the link and in the document ready function in the header. Right now, of course, when I give the iframe class to the link that also has the onclick share.tw(), I get two popups: one browser window popup with the correct Twitter share page loaded, and a Fancybox jQuery popup that shows a site 404. How can I change the function to use Fancybox to present the Twitter share page? Is that a correct way to approach it? Or is there a better way, such as implementing the share function in jQuery, too? Thanks... • WP7 - correctly timeing out an observable?

  WP7 APP Using an observable from event, I download the lateset weather from a web service. I tested this out on the phone and emulator at home and it works fine. I brought the project with me to work and ran it using the emulator there. Now i'm not sure it its a firewall or what but it doesn't seem to get the weather, it just sits there for ever trying. So it got me thinking that if there was ever to happen on a phone then I need some kind of timeout in that if it can't get the weather in say 10 - 15 seconds then just give up. Here is the example code so far IObservable<IEvent<MyWeather.GetWeatherCompletedEventArgs>> observable = Observable.FromEvent<MyWeather.GetWeatherCompletedEventArgs>(Global.WeatherService, "MyWeather.GetWeatherCompleted").Take(1); observable.Subscribe(w => { if (w.EventArgs.Error == null) { // Do something with the weather } }); Global.WeatherService.GetWeatherAsync(location); How can I get this to time out safely after a given time if nothing is happening?
