• How do I generate C# code from WADL files?

  I am looking for a code generator than can generate C# code to access RESTful web services described by WADL files in a way similar to how wadl2java works. Doing som searching I came across the rest-api-code-gen project on Google Code, but although the latest source does in fact support C#, the REST Describe & Compile demo site does not. (The C# button is there, but it's disabled.) I realize I could download the source and set up my own server with the latest version, but I would prefer not to, as what I need is a command line tool and not a web application with dependencies to Google Web Toolkit. I guess I could write my own a command line tool based on the same source code, but if it has already been done, or other tools can do the job, I'd rather avoid it. So, I'm wondering, are there any tools like that out there?

  Hi i completed creating i calendar feed in asp.net mvc.Basically the op is the file with .ics extensions.I am able to open my file in mozilla sunbird(calendar reader software) and view the milestones lists.Now when i want to open it with google calendar i get an error.How can i synchronize mi ical file with google calendar.Do i need to use webcal:\ protocol to achive that.Basically my feed link should apper some thing like this webcal://proj2009.basecamphq.com/feed/global_ical?token=457bd123e18d instead of controller/action/id(which i have now).There aint enough resource on the web for this one.Anyone pls help.   I have been searching on the web to see if I can use GoogleMaps with the JXMapViewer. According to this, it is illegal, but the article is more than three years old. Could anyone be kind enough to tell me if I can use GoogleMaps with the JXMap viewer? I know that Google has recently allowed desktop applications to use their static maps provided that the application is freely accessible to people on some website. If this can be done, I would appreciate some pointer to where I could start looking so that I can use Google Maps, I tried messing around with this but to no avail. Thanks in advance. Edit: I have managed to show a map in my JXMapKit. The only problem is that I am getting the image as a tiled image, whilst I only need one. Any help on this issue?

• Horizontal lines and PDF drawing on iPhone/iPad Quartz 2D

  I'm trying to display a PDF of music using the Quartz 2D calls: CGPDFDocumentGetPage and CGPDFPageGetDrawingTransform The problem is that some horizontal lines in the PDF get drawn thicker than others. The biggest problem is that I notice this in Preview on the Mac and on iPhone/iPad. Even when viewing this PDF in the iPhone/iPad mail, I get the same problem. Here is the example: http://aronnelson.com/problem/pdfproblem.jpg Note that the PDF on the left is preview, the PDF on the right is the same file but in Google Docs. See how clean the Google Docs version is? Is there any way to fix this problem? Would it help to draw the PDF larger and zoom down using a UIScrollView? Any help appreciated. I've also created a wrapper class with virtual functions wrapping the Windows API, as described in the Google Mock CheatSheet. I'm confused however at how I should pass the wrapper into my class that uses that object. Obviously that object needs to be polymorphic, so I can't pass it by value, forcing me to pass a pointer. That in and of itself is not a problem, but I'm confused as to who should own the pointer to the class wrapping the API. So... how should I pass the wrapper class into the real class to facilitate mocking?

The RSS feed should look like: http://www.google.com/support/merchants/bin/answer.py?answer=160589&hl=en I'm using the SyndicationFeed and SyndicationsItems to create the feed. But I'm having trouble adding the extra elements like g:image_link. I try the extra elements like; syndicationItem.ElementExtensions.Add(new XElement("image_link", product.ImageLink).CreateReader()); This works, but how can I add the namespace xmlns:g="http://base.google.com/ns/1.0" to the first RSS tag and use this for the extension elements? • 2-legged OAuth and the Gmail atom feed

  We're trying to get 2-legged OAuth to work with the Gmail atom feed. We're using the Java library contributed by John Kristian, Praveen Alavilli and Dirk Balfanz. [http://oauth.net/code/] instead of the GData library. We know we have the correct CONSUMER_KEY and CONSUMER_SECRET, etc. becuase it works with the Contacts feed (http://www.google.com/m8/feeds/contacts/default/full) and have no problems. However with Gmail atom feed it always returns: HTTP/1.1 401 Unauthorized Any ideas? Should we try a different OAuth framework or does the problem lie on the Google side?

  Recently, I found that some searches in Firefox are redirected to Bing. (Instead of my primary search engine Google.) I am not sure, but it seems that it is not bound to search but rather a hostname resolving. Since entering a single word that might be a hostname redirects to Bing. But entering more words searches using my primary search engine. hey - uses Bing to search hey hey - uses Google to search I found that the resulting search url contains MSSRPD: http://www.bing.com/search?q=hey&form=MSSRPD I am wondering what is the MSSRPD and how can I uninstall/disable, so my primary search engine is used?

• Expression Studio 4 Premium & SketchFlow: Am I screwed?

  Through work I have an Visual Studio Premium with MSDN subscription that I love. However, my biggest disappointment of the last 12 months was discovering that our 2nd from the top level subscription was not enough to get me Sketchflow! This sucks and I am borderline distraught! What are my options? Upgrading to an Ultimate subscription for Sketchflow is out of the question. Am I forced, then, to stay with Blend 3 or Purchase Blend 4 seperately? If this is not a question I should ask here please inform and I'll delete. I just tend to default to SO for all questions that Google can't answer and Google did not answer this one.

  IntroductionThe idea of writing a blog about downloading software seems a bit strange .. right? After all, surely just give me the web download link and away I go!? Unfortunately, life is not so simple if you are a DBA or Systems Administrator tasked with staging Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g products for your chosen business technology stack. Here are the challenges: Oracle Fusion Middleware is not a single product, it is a family of products - a media pack with many many "disks" - which ones do I pick? Are the products I pick certified / supported on my chosen platform? Which download site do I use? I need to be on the latest and greatest - how do I get hold of the latest product patch set? The purpose of this blog is to give you a roadmap to get you through these challenges. Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g - A Product SuiteThe first thing to appreciate is that Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g is not a single product. It is a product suite, an umbrella label for many products. Typically you don't download the whole media pack - well not unless you want to stage 124 Parts - a total of 68 Gig  - instead you pick the pieces that are required for your chosen Middleware solution. Therefore, you need to research / understand which products are required to build your solution. In this respect, before you go looking for the software pick and persue the product guide from the table below which matches your situation:  Installing a New / Vanilla FMW 11g architecture Oracle Fusion Middleware Installation Planning Guide 11g  Upgrading Oracle Application Server 10g to FMW 11g Oracle Fusion Middleware Upgrade Planning Guide 11g  Patching an existing FMW 11g architecture Oracle Fusion Middleware Patching Guide 11g Certification Information Ok, so now you have an idea of what Fusion Middleware products you need. It's time to check whether these products are certified against your chosen platform. Be aware that to find certification information via the My Oracle Support Certification Tab page you must enter the FMW 11g product name e.g. "Oracle SOA Suite". Do NOT enter "Oracle Fusion Middleware". The certification information does not exist at this product suite level.  For example, if you are building a solution which includes Oracle SOA Suite Oracle WebCenter then you will have to look up the certification information for each product in turn.After choosing the product name, select the latest patch set version. This will not only tell you whether your chosen product is available at that patch set version but provide the certification information relevant to that version.  If the product is not available under the latest patch set version, seek the information under previous patch set versions. Important: Make a careful note of the Oracle WebLogic Server version which is certified with your chosen product and patch set version. Oracle WebLogic Server is the core component of a Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g home. It is important therefore to ensure later on that you download the version of Oracle WebLogic Server which is compatible and certified with your chosen product and patch set version.Also - sorry to state the obvious, but please do not take certification information from the screenshots above. The Software Delivery Cloud provides you with a flat list of the Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g media pack. You have to know what you are looking for and pick out the right pieces :-( The OTN product download pages present not only the download for the product you want but also its dependencies such as WebLogic Server and Repository Creation Utility. So, even if your licensing requirements drive you towards the cloud, it is still worthwhile checking the OTN pages if only as a guide to what you need to pick out from the flat list found on the cloud site. Latest Patch Set This is an area which may cause you confusion - especially if you are more familiar with the Oracle Application Server 10g patching story. From Patch Set 11.1.1.6 and higher, the majority of FMW 11g products (N.B there are exceptions) provide installers which can be used both to update existing FMW 11g product installs or build brand new ones. This is good news because, unless you are dealing with one of the exceptions, it means you do not have to download base software and a patch set. At the time of the writing, the two significant exceptions are: Portal/Forms/Reports/Discoverer 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.x) Identity Access Management 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.x) The other key message here is ensure you are grabbing a version of Oracle WebLogic Server which is compatible with your chosen product patch set version. • JSLint reports "Unexpected dangling" character in an underscore prefixed variable name

  I know that some people consider the presence of a leading underscore to imply that a variable is "private," that such privacy is a fiction, and assume this is why JSLint reports such names with an error message. I use Google Analytics on a Web site I am building. I make reference to GA's variables, such as "_gaq." I am trying to get my JS code to be 100% JSLint clean (I'm not religious about my coding style, and so will go with Mr. Crockford's counsel). That said, I can't do anything about Google's variables names... so, I guess I can't get 100% "clean." I post here in case I've misunderstood the message, and can do something to comply with JSLint practices.

• XMPP TLS connection with SslStream

  I am trying to create a simple xmpp client that connects to Gtalk. The first part of the handshake seems to work. Ror the TLS handshake I created a client SslStream, connected to the intended server (talk.google.com) and successfully got authenticated . The first SSlStream.Read is to receive the greeting reply, it went fine . I do a SslStream.write to send my first command, but when i do my Sslstream.Read() to get the reply , i get this error."System.IO.IOException: Unable to read data from the transport connection: An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine." Can anyone point me to the right direction? I am using code very similar to the example on msdn http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.net.security.sslstream.aspx except that I switch from a Network stream to a Sslstream when TLS is negotiated. netStream.Flush(); sslStream = new SslStream(netStream, true, new RemoteCertificateValidationCallback(ValidateServerCertificate), null ); sslStream.AuthenticateAsClient("talk.google.com");

• How to geocode a large number of addresses?

  I need to geocode, i.e. translate street address to latitude,longitude for ~8,000 street addresses. I am using both Yahoo and Google geocoding engines at http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/geocoder/, and found out that for a large number of addresses those engines (one of them or both) either could not perform geocoding (i.e.return latitude=0,longitude=0), or return the wrong coordinates (incl. cases when Yahoo and Google give different results). What is the best way to handle this problem? Which engine is (usually) more accurate? I would appreciate any thoughts, suggestions, ideas from people who had previous experience with this kind of task.

• Embed VLC player in GWT

  Hello, I want to embed a VLC player in my webapp build with Google's GWT. First I had a look at this page: http://wiki.videolan.org/GWT, which offers a nice solution but I add to implements all javascript functions calls (play, stop, fullscreen) with JSNI. Then I found gwt-player (hosted by Google code) which does all the job for me but the annoying part is that the project is not widely used (few posts each month on the project's group, not so many talks about it in blogs/forums...) Do you know another option to easly embed & control a VLC player in a GWT app ? My main goal is to play any video/audio file in a webapp and offer the user a fast/forward feature (set rate in VLC), is there any other player I could use ? I already had a look at Quicktime, Windows Media player & Flowplayer, none of them offers as much features as VLC. Thanks in advance & have a nice new year's eve. Chris

• microphone volume control from javascript

  I'd like to be able to control the system microphone volume from the browser. I know that the microphone can be recorded from using Flash or Silverlight, but these don't allow control of the microphone volume. (Flash has Microphone.gain, but as its just a software multiplier, it doesn't help when the system mic volume is muted or too loud.) I've heard that HTML5 will have some sort of microphone access, but whether it will allow volume control is unclear to me. At any rate, I don't think any browsers support it yet. Are there any plugins that would allow volume control? The old Google Gears project has some AudioApi docs, though these don't seem to have made it into the actual plugin. There's also the Google Talk plugin- it seems to do some kind of gain control, but its unclear if there's an api to the plugin. Perhaps there's a draft HTML5 implementation plugin for microphone access (like indexeddb, for example)?
