    I have a page that is pulling in via an iframe a page of html content from a pre-existing content management system, whose content I can not directly change. I want to use jquery to alter some of the links and button locations dynamically. For links within the page I was able to change the href attr values of <a href="/content.asp">more</a> from content.asp to content2.asp using $("a[href^='/content.asp']") .each(function() { this.href = this.href.replace("content.asp", "content2.asp"); }); But the page pulled in also has form buttons that contains javascript onclick functions e.g. <INPUT type="button" value="Add to basket" onClick="document.location='/shopping-basket.asp?mode=add&id_Product=1076';"> I basically want to use jquery to select any such buttons and change the shopping-basket.asp to shopping-basket2.asp How can I select these buttons/onclick functions and change the location string?

  • How to prompt user input parameters for SQL Queries in Access 2010

    SELECT Transactions.TransactionNumber FROM Transactions WHERE (((Transactions.Date)>=#11/23/12#)) AND (((Transactions.Date)<=#11/23/12#)); The above code returns all the transaction that happened between the specified dates. But I want those dates to be defined by the user every time the query is executed. I tried using the [] operators to have the user define the criteria in the WHERE, something like this: WHERE (((Transactions.Date)>=[Input a Date])) AND (((Transactions.Date)<=[Input a Date])); But microsoft Access throws a Syntax error message. The same happens when I include the # (date operators) like this WHERE (((Transactions.Date)>=#[Input a Date]#)) AND (((Transactions.Date)<=#[Input a Date]#)); Is there anopther way to manage dates that I'm not aware of or is asking a user for dates in a query out of the question

    hi, I am using jquery ajax method on my aspx page,which will invoke the webmethod in the code behind.Currently the webmethod takes a couple of parameters like firstname,lastname,address etc which I am passing from jquery ajax method using data:JSON.stringify({fname:firstname,lname:lastname,city:city}) now my requirement has been changed such that,the number and type of parameters that are going to be passed is not fixed for ex.parameter combination can be something like fname,city or fname,city or city,lname or fname,lname,city or something else.So the webmethod should be such that it should accept any number parameters.I thought of using arrays to do so, as described here. But I do not understand how can I identify which and how many parameters have been passed to the webmethod to insert/update the data to the DB.Please could someone help me with this? thanks

  • Wrong extraction of .attr("href") in IE7 vs all other browsers?

    Can it really be true that the attr("href") command for a link is handled very different in IE7 in comparison to all other browsers? Let's say I have a page at http://example.com/page.html and I have this HTML: <a href="#someAnchor" class="lnkTest">Link text</a> and this jQuery: var strHref = $(".lnkTest").attr("href"); Then in IE7 the value of the strHref variable will be "http://example.com/page.htm#someAnchor" but in other browsers it will be "#someAnchor". I believe that the last mentioned case is the most correct one, so is it just a case of IE7 being a bad boy or is it a bug in jQuery?

For example: <div id='id1'><div id='id2'>content</div></div> I attach event to DIVs event handler using jQuery: $('div').click(function () { //some code }); There will be two events when user click on content. So there will be two simultaneous events. Is it possible to get inside event handler array of objects (DIVs) what have click event? May be it is possible using other framework but jQuery?

    Hi, I'd like to display some language specific characters from javascript but I can't. My app is a Java webapp and the front end is jQuery. All the characters that are sended from the server - in a JSP or with AJAX - are displayed properly. When I want to display some text hardcoded in to the javascript file it's broken. I'm using Eclipse. In the JSP's header I use: <%@ page language="java" contentType="text/html; charset=UTF-8" pageEncoding="UTF-8"%> I've tried this (charset in the script element) too: <script type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"><c:import url="/JS/mainJS.js" /></script> In my Eclipse I've set the project properties / text file encoding to UTF-8 AND I've checked the JS files' resource properties / text file encoding that is UTF-8 too.     Consider the following snippet: $(document).bind('mousemove', function(e) { $('#someDiv').css({left: e.pageX+'px', top: e.pageY+'px'}); }); This should make #someDiv follow the mouse (tooltip), when the css value for "position" is set to absolute. Works as expected, except when you Zoom IN or OUT in IE7 ( dind't try other version of IE). Then the e.pageX gets completely off. The more you zoom in (using your mousewheel + CTRL), the more off the positioning gets. I've tried to break jQuery's UI demos (sliders) and it seems not even jQuery guys have this figured out. Is there any genius out there who knows how to fix this nasty thing? Thanks in advance!

    How do you show ajax gif only for a specific request? For example my page is calling a web-service every 30 seconds in a background, and I don't want to show the gif during this callback. On the other hand I want to show the gif, when I'am making manual ajax requests. I am using jQuery. edit: I didn't setup the global handler as shown here http://api.jquery.com/ajaxStart/, just by attaching to the .ajaxStart event. But I don't want to show/hide the gif manually on every request too. I need some generic solution.

  • Remove Attributes onmouseover and onmouseout

    Hello all, I am trying to make use of JQuery's remove attribute like this: $('#rom-img_1').removeAttr('mouseover'); $('#rom-img_2').removeAttr('mouseout'); However, it does not remove the effects of the events as the events are still triggered on mouseover and on mouseout. I have tried adding "on" before the events names too but JQuery doesn't use it like that. Why isn't this working and how can I remove those attributes.     I am developing an addon to Firefox using addon-builder. I want to replace a normal alert box in Javascript with my addon. So, I have choosen customized alert boxes using jQuery. The jAlert details are given here. Now, I made customized alerts (with title and colors in alert). It is wroking properly on some websites. But on some websites the default CSS is dominating my jQuery CSS, which leads to unexpected alerts (ugly alerts).

    I have a very long form, which is divided into fieldsets which in turn are being shown or hidden, using the harmonica from jQuery UI. I am using form validation from jQuery as well, all newest versions. After submission and validation the user is redirected to the first erroneous field by $('myForm').validate(); But the containing harmonica fieldset has to be showed/opened with $('myForm').accordion('activate', index); as well, in order to show the field to the user. So how can I open the appropriate accordion fieldset after the form has been tried to submit? Is there a way to do it in a callback function after $('myForm').validate();

    Hopefully this is a pretty simple question! I've got the code working in jQuery to listen for a specific form on a page to be submitted and perform an alert when it is.. I.e.: The form itself doesn't have a name so I am targetting the form within a specific form ID. $("#content form").submit(function() { alert("lorem ipsum dolor?"); }); What would be the syntax for performing this in javascript alone without using jquery?   • ASP.NET: How to "reset" validation after calling Page_ClientValidate

    I have an ASP.NET page with a jQuery dialog that is displayed to change some data. I am setting up the jQuery dialog so that when the user clicks the OK button it calls ASP.NET's Page_ClientValidate('validationGroup') via javascript, finds all the invalid controls and changes their CSS class. So here's the scenario: the user opens the dialog, keys in some invalid data, clicks OK (receiving the validation messages), and then clicks Cancel. Now the dialog is closed, but the validation messages are still there, so that when they open the dialog again, the data goes back to the way it was initially, but the form is still in the invalid state (the validation messages are still displaying). What I need is a "reset" function of sorts to call after calling Page_ClientValidate('validationGroup'). Does this exist?
