• Import small number of records from a very large CSV file in Biztalk 2006

  I have a Biztalk project that imports an incoming CSV file and dumps it to a database table. The import works fine, but I only need to keep about 200-300 records from a file with upwards of a million rows. My orchestration discards these rows, but the problem is that the flat file I'm importing is still 250MB, and when converted to XML using a regular flat file pipeline, it takes hours to process and sometimes causes the server to run out memory. Is there something I can do to have the Custom Pipeline itself discard rows I don't care about? The very first item in each CSV row is one of a few strings, and I only want to keep rows that start with a certain string. Thanks for any help you're able to provide.

  I'm trying to create a custom attribute called Tag for all editable elements. I added the following to attrs.xml <declare-styleable name="Spinner"> <attr name="tag" format="string" /> </declare-styleable> <declare-styleable name="EditText"> <attr name="tag" format="string" /> </declare-styleable> I get an error saying "Attribute tag has already been defined" for the EditText. Is it not possible to create a custom attribute of the same name on different elements?

• How do I make php page return a 503 error (or anything non-200).

  A former developer wrote or client-server api in PHP. It simply sends messages as xml using post/response in a very simplistic fashion. The problem is that even when there is an error (ex: invalid arguments passed into the server side) we get a HTTP 200 response with a page like this <h4>Unknown error!</h4> In firebug I can see that the actually HTTP response is a 200. How can we send a different response (ie:503) when we programatically detect in our php code that it is appropriate to do so.

  hi .. i have written a small program with a reference to a dll file that will be included in the setup file. what i still need is a way to update the dll (in case i change some functions), without the need to redownload the whole program again, just replace the dll file ... is this possible ? i just read somewhere that i have to update the xml file with the new dll version, but i really need the full steps to update the dll sucessfully .. any help is really appreciated.. thanks a lot

  I am trying to dynamically define methods based on xml mappings. This works really well. However I want to create an instance variable that is a array of the dynamically defined methods. While the puts before the definition actually prints out the correct array. (when I instantiate the instance)

• Help with IE bugs when writing JSON via an ASPX response

  I have an ASPX page that I am using to write JSON. It works great in Firefox and Chrome, but when I try and use it in IE 8 it gives me an "The XML page cannot be displayed" error instead of allowing jQuery to load the JSON being written by the response. Any ideas?   Hello, does anyone knows a file format for configuration files easy to read by humans? I want to have something like tag = value where value may be: String Number(int or float) Boolean(true/false) Array(of String values, Number values, Boolean values) Another structure(it will be more clear what I mean in the fallowing example) Now I use something like this: IntTag=1 FloatTag=1.1 StringTag="a string" BoolTag=true ArrayTag1=[1 2 3] ArrayTag2=[1.1 2.1 3.1] ArrayTag3=["str1" "str2" "str3"] StructTag= { NestedTag1=1 NestedTag2="str1" } and so on. Parsing is easy but for large files I find it hard to read/edit in text editors. I don't like xml for the same reason, it's hard to read. INI does not support nesting and I want to be able to nest tags. I also don't want a complicated format because I will use limited kind of values as I mentioned above. Thanks for any help.

  I'm building a WSS site which has to show SVG files stored on WSS. I'm trying to use <object> tag to show it and it doesn't show, however, if I use <embed> it works ok. Im'using IE8 and IE7 I've been reading and everyone tells IE prefers <Object> over <embed>, but in WSS it doesn't work this way. To display the file I'm using a web content editor webpart with this code: <object type="image/svg+xml" data="/samples/sample.svg" name="owMain" width="400" height="150"> </object> Any clue??

But in my app i see the effect of appBlueTheme as GWT doc say "inherited modules will be cascaded in the order they are listed" I want theme to be changed based on user response.   I'm currently using a collection of three commands to get the current tag, branch and the date and SHA1 of the most recent commit. git describe --always --tag git log -1 --format="%H%n%aD" git rev-parse --abbrev-ref HEAD Which will output something like: 1.2.3-gdeadbeef deadbeef3b8d90071c24f51ac8f26ce97a72727b Wed, 19 May 2010 09:12:34 +0200 master To be honest, I'm totally fine with this. But I'm using these commands from Maven and anyone who'd used Maven before, knows how much things like external commands bloat the POM. I just want to slim down my pom.xml and maybe reduce execution time a bit.

• Is a Service Bus a good option to communicate with multiple external servers?

  We are developing an application that communicates, via web services or TCP/IP sockets, with multiple servers (up to 50 different external companies). Basically, the exchanged messages are the same (XML), but depending on the inputs of our application we should call 1 or more external servers. The benefits we would expect of introducing a Service Bus in the architecture would be: 1- Remove the need to manage all point-to-point configurations (all the 50 endpoints); 2- Simplify the communication layer of our application by having only one server to talk to; Is a Service Bus a good architectural option for this scenario? What is the best (simplest) Service Bus for this kind of communication? I read a few MSDN articles on Azure Service Bus Relay, but it didn’t seem to fit our needs. Am I wrong? Thanks for your help.

This work for '/index' and '/login' paths. But I'm getting 404 response for '/static/login' when invoked from the browser. I'm expecting that '/static/login/' and '/login' should behave the same. What could be wrong here? Would appreciate any help. Thanks!

If the ProductId passed is invalid, what kind of response would you do? I want to send the right response code plus information to the requester on what they can do to fix it. Initial thoughts were 422 with the body containing the list of errors in JSON/XML format.   Which MVC-framework is the best option (performance/ease of development) for a web application, that will have + 2 million visits per week. Basically the site is a search engine,but also there will be large amounts of xml parsing, and high db traffic. We are using Java, over Jboss 4.2.3x, with PG as DB, and Solr for the searches. We were thinking on code JSPs with taglibs, and Servlets, but we were feeling like there would be a better alternative, which don't know yet, as we are starting on the Java Web applications world.   I have started a maven project trying to implement the MapReduce algorithm in java 1.5.0_14. I have chosen the 0.20.2 API hadoop version. In the pom.xml i'm using thus the following dependency: < dependency < groupId>org.apache.hadoop< /groupId> < artifactId>hadoop-core< /artifactId> < version>0.20.2< /version> < /dependency But when I'm using an import to the org.apache.hadoop classes, I get the following error: bad class file: ${HOME_DIR}\repository\org\apache\hadoop\hadoop-core\0.20.2\hadoop-core-0.20.2.jar(org/apache/hadoop/fs/Path.class) class file has wrong version 50.0, should be 49.0. Does someone know how can I solve this issue. Thanks.

  I have written a console application in Delphi that queries information from several locations. This application will be launched by another process, and the output to STDOUT will be captured by the launching process. The information I am retrieving is to be interpreted by the calling application for reporting purposes. What is the best way to output this data to STDOUT so that it can be easily parsed? JSON? XML? CSV? The data, specifically, is remote workstation information, so it will pull things back like running processes, and details about each process. Does anyone have any experience with this or suggestions?

  I have a problem where I don't want to have to call a setEnv.sh file before i call my ant target that calls an exec task. Right now I have a way to save the environment variables in setenv.properties file in the key=value notation. The exec task for some reason does not see the variables that are set in the .properties file.... • How do I make log4j create log files on demand only?

  We have a modular application where modules have their own log4j logs (i.e. communication log and error log). The appenders and categories for these are all configured in the core log4j XML, but not all modules are always installed. The DailyRollingFileAppender creates its file regardless of use and that exposes the full set of modules although not present and as some of them are customer specific we'd like to hide logs not in use. Is there a way to make DailyRollingFileAppender create its file on first use instead of automatically at startup?
