I store this dates in this format, but I would like to make a Date array from these numbers with the format 03/16 03/17 03/18 ... Now I make a Date array and I want to put the dates into it. I format the dates to format I want, then I try to convert them to Date format. Until the String newDateStr it is working, I manage to change the type of the date. But I get syntax error: Type mismatch: Cannot convert from java.util.date to java.sql.data. I suspect the problem but if it is not possible, how can i do this?

  • ListView Parsing Persian xml

    I used a tutorial about listview parsing xm from internet and using LasyAdapter shows the items in listview. When I add persian characters in xml (into one of childnodes) the result is some boxes in listview (after showing the text in listview). The format of xml is UTF-8, too. I used typeface too (but didn't work). Besides when I type Pwesian into the application it shows alright but it can't show Persiann content parsed from xml. Thanks in advance.   • No GPS updates on Galaxy S3

    I'm developing a GPS tracker and it works like a charm. But a couple of weeks ago a customer of me (a trackage company) bought Samsung Galaxy S3 for his drivers. And since that we have really strange behaviour of my app. The app receives location updates from GPS receiver, but after some hours of work it doesn't receive any location updates. I have registered the app for onGpsStatusChanged() too and in this time onGpsStatusChanged() was called (I see that GPS receiver have 10-17 satellites!), but the method onLocationChanged() was not called! After the service restart (=re-registering of LocationListener) it works again. It is really strange. It seems that after some hours of work the GPS reciever is not in the mood for calling onLocationChanged() :) Any idea what may be wrong?

  • Dealing w/ Sqlite Join results in a cursor

    I have a one-many relationship in my local Sqlite db. Pretty basic stuff. When I do my left outer join I get back results that look like this: the resulting cursor has multiple rows that look like this: A1.id | A1.column1 | A1.column2 | B1.a_id_fk | B1.column1 | B1.column2 A1.id | A1.column1 | A1.column2 | B2.a_id_fk | B2.column1 | B2.column2 and so on... Is there a standard practice or method of dealing with results like this ? Clearly there is only A1, but it has many B-n relationships. I am coming close to using multiple queries instead of the "relational db way". Hopefully I am just not aware of the better way to do things. I intend to expose this query via a content provider and I would hate for all of the consumers to have to write the same aggregation logic.

  • Does an Intent's extras still get flattened into a Parcel even if the new activity is being started

    I was wondering... So if you start a new activity via an intent, the intent has to be serialized and deserialized because you may have to send the intent to a separate VM instance via IPC. But what if the PackageManager knows that your new activity will be created on the current task? It seems like a reasonably Googly optimization would be not to serialize the intent at all, since it's all happening inside the same VM. But then again, you can't just allow the new activity to use the same instance of each parcelable, because any changes made by the new activity would show up in the old activity and the programmer might not be expecting this. So, is this optimization being done? Or do the extras always get marshalled and unmarshalled, no matter what?

  • show() progressdialog in asynctask inside fragment

    I'm trying to display a progressDialog while getting an image from a url to a imageview. When trying to show the progressDialog the parent activity has leaked window... Strange thing is that I have two fragments in the this activity, in the first fragment this exact same way of calling the progressdialog works but when the fragment is replaced and i try to make it again it crashes.   • Webview duplicate HTML problem

    Hi all, I load a url over the web containing images (their source is another url). when then view loads the html, it loads it without the images. after few milliseconds, the images come along but then the html is redrawn, and it does so over the previous html, causing it the web view to hold 2 htmls one over the other (very ugly result). anyone knows why does that happen? how can I avoid that? thanks, Ori

  • How to update widgets from a service?

    I have a background service that can be configured to perform some action every x minutes. I want to implement a widget that gets updated every time my service performs that action. However, I can't get the onUpdate method of my AppWidgetProvider called in any way, except when adding a widget to the homescreen. I tried sending APPWIDGET_UPDATE intents but onUpdate did not get called although the AppWidgetProvider did receive the intent since the onReceive method was called. Is there any way I can trigger widget updates from a service?

    Hello, I have been struggling with getting the versionName for a running application from the PackageInfo Object type. I have constructed a Parcelable Interface with all of the fields associated with the PackageInfo Object type. The primary input for that interface method is a Parcel object. I cannot seem to figure out how to correctly associate these Parcelable, Parcel, and PackageInfo objects. Is there any sample code out there that I can look at?   • Application lifecycle. How to run something only when application starts

    I have a dialog popup to indicate how long I want an activity to run. Seems simple enough, but its difficult to determine when the activity is really starting. If the user opens the keyboard on a G1 and thereby goes into landscape, that reruns the activities onCreate method. I can't have a static for the class or even create an application class, because I can't determine when the 'application' goes away. Even after destroying the only activity, the application is apparently still alive. Is there a way to determine that onCreate has been called because of the keyboard being extended or landscape mode invoked? Thanks

I am generating notifications using notification manager class, when the timeline crosses.But if my cell phone is switched off ,I am unable to see these notifications. Not even when i switch it on again. Even if i switch it off and switch on again, i think the pending intents are destroyed and no notification is generated. How do i get it when the phone is switched on again ?
