• Where is the WPF Numeric UpDown control?

  Getting into the first serious WPF project. It seems like there are a lot of basic controls flat out missing. Specifically, I am looking for the Numeric UpDown control. Was there an out of band release that I missed? Really don't feel like writing my own control. I do not want to use the WindowsFormHost and plop a WinForm ctl on it. I want it to be fully WPF without any legacy junk. Thanks

• Getting BeautifulSoup to find a specific <p>

  I'm trying to put together a basic HTML scraper for a variety of scientific journal websites, specifically trying to get the abstract or introductory paragraph. The current journal I'm working on is Nature, and the article I've been using as my sample can be seen at http://www.nature.com/nature/journal/v463/n7284/abs/nature08715.html. I can't get the abstract out of that page, however. I'm searching for everything between the <p class="lead">...</p> tags, but I can't seem to figure out how to isolate them. I thought it would be something simple like from BeautifulSoup import BeautifulSoup import re import urllib2 address="http://www.nature.com/nature/journal/v463/n7284/full/nature08715.html" html = urllib2.urlopen(address).read() soup = BeautifulSoup(html) abstract = soup.find('p', attrs={'class' : 'lead'}) print abstract Using Python 2.5, BeautifulSoup 3.0.8, running this returns 'None'. I have no option of using anything else that needs to be compiled/installed (like lxml). Is BeautifulSoup confused, or am I?

Seriously, wikipedia doesn't cover it well, and I read an article on HN recently comparing git and bzr in some detail, but the author admitted knowing little about mercurial, and the other options didn't get mentioned. (I'm happily using fossil on small win/mac/Linux projects) Please restrict answers to the DVCS aspects of the tool, e.g. The basic unit of vc in hit is the repository- in bazaar it is the branch(http://unspecified.wordpress.com/2010/03/26/why-git-aint-better-than-x/). bugtrackers and wikis are nice, but I'm really interested in the tools themselves, rather than any extras. Unfortunately SO demands a single 'right answer', so I'm making the question community wiki in the hope that users will contribute their knowledge.

  After learning the basic syntax, reading some non-trivial code is a fast way to learn a language. We can also learn how to design a library/software during reading others' code. I have following lists. A Chess program in OCaml by Tomek Czajka. Hal Daumé has written several machine learning libraries in Ocaml. Including decision trees, logistic regression and SVM. All of them are near-production-quality code. A Chess Game Analysis program in F# in Microsoft Research. The above three are my favorites. Will you suggest some other sources? General purpose open source software are good, specialized open source like the three I list here are even more welcome.

• Isapi Rewrite : Remove filename from URL

  Hi there Im am trying to use the isapi rewrite tool on my web domain to write some basic rules, but am getting a bit confused. My base url is http://forevr-dev.co.uk/musicexplained/index.cfm and every page on the site follows from this base url. For example http://forevr-dev.co.uk/musicexplained/index.cfm/artist/blondie would be the artist page for blondie.. What I am looking for, is a rewrite rule, that would remove the index.cfm from the url, instead leaving http://forevr-dev.co.uk/musicexplained/artist/blondie. I have put the httpd.ini file in my musicexplained folder, under the root of my forevr-dev.co.uk domain, and I am using the following code below, which I used from the coldbox coldfusion framework application examples. RewriteEngine On RepeatLimit 0 RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.cfm/%{REQUEST_URI} [QSA,L] However, when I now go to the new pretty url, I am recieving an error message saying that the page cannot be found, alongside a 404 message.   I am using PHP filter to perfom basic sanitization and validation of form data. The principle problem I am having is that I mark my form up so that all the data is in one array for the POST input. e.g. form fields, page[name], page[slug], page[body], page[status], etc. Using the following: filter_input(INPUT_POST, 'page[name]', FILTER_SANITIZE_STRING); OR filter_input(INPUT_POST, "page['name']", FILTER_SANITIZE_STRING); I am unable to access the variable. Can someone please tell me the correct name to use to access array data using filter_input()

I created an update version of the app. I uploaded a binary and rejected. b) On the provisioning portal i created an app-id with unique id ( not wildchard * ) like: com.mycompanyname.myappintheoryblablabla c) I created a new provisioning profile based on the above app-id d) i installed via xcode the prov profile on the development device and set in the app this profile in the field "code signing identity" e) On itunes connect i created 2 item for the in app purchase and set ad "clear for sale" f) in the application code i implemened the basic calls taken from the Apple sample what i am getting is ( as stated in the subject ) CANNOT CONNECT TO ITUNES STORE. • Silverlight File download from client

  I have a Silverlight application that implements some basic CRUD operations on a fairly flat data set. The application loads all the data onto the client to allow for quick editing (this is a fairly small data set no more that a couple K). I would like to allow them to download the file as a CSV so they can edit the data locally. I know i can set up a HyperLink button to a URL on my webserver and then server the data dynamically using a custom server handler. But this seems kind of roundabout to me because the all the data is already all on the Client's machine (because the Silverlight application loaded it). So i was wondering if there was a way to prompt the user for a file download and then dynamically generate the file download stream from Silverlight?

  Hello. I am developing a site (ASP.Net based) that, besides other features enables the users to blog as well. I am thinking of integrating BlogEngine.Net to my portal. From whatever little I have analyzed, integrating at presentation layer will be far more challenging in comparison to doing so at business layer. That means (I guess) I will have to use the BlogEngine.Core.dll in my application. I am looking for some sort of approval from the community, complimented with suggested do's and dont's.   What is the best way to structure a VB.NET windows forms application so that code can be reused and the app can be extended easily. I used to create lots of new forms. This lead to lots of repeated code and forms which did similar things. Now, for forms which do similar jobs, such as view/edit/delete items from a specific db table, I create a form with the required controls, have the form create an instance of a class with params such as a collection of the controls and a string containing the db table name. Then the individual controls call functions of the class. Advanced forms will inherit and extend this basic form class. 1) Has there already been work done in this area? 2) Are there books / articles available which discuss the options available on this topic? • Brute force characters into a textbox in c#

  Hey everyone, I am VERY new to programming and the only language I know is C# So I will have to stick with that... I want to make a program that "test passwords" to see how long they would take to break with a basic brute force attack. So what I did was make 2 text boxes. (textbox1 and textbox2) and wrote the program so if the text boxes had the input, a "correct password" label would appear, but i want to write the program so that textbox2 will run a brute force algorithm in it, and when it comes across the correct password, it will stop. I REALLY need help, and if you could just post my attached code with the correct additives in it that would be great. The program so far is extremely simple, but I am very new to this, so. • Capturing network traffic in ruby - pcap related issues

  What I need is to write very simple application, which would listen to network traffic, filter out some packets based on various layer 4/5 information and then dump those information into database. I am quite confused on which pcap gem/plugin should I use. The basic pcap implemention seem to be a bit outdated (no changes since 2001) and doesn't work properly. I also tried pcaprub, but I am not quite sure how to get around with this library. It seem to capture raw packets without te ability to actualy get any data out of the pcap dump. Do you have any advices on how can I realize this simple task? Thanks in advance. :-)

• Scheme: Detecting duplicate elements in a list

  Does R6RS or Chez Scheme v7.9.4 have a library function to check if a list contains duplicate elements? Alternatively, do either have any built in functionality for sets (which dis-allow duplicate elements)? So far, I've only been able to find an example here. The problem with that is that it doesn't appear to actually be part of the Chez Scheme library. Although I could write my own version of this, I'd much rather use a well known, tested, and maintained library function - especially given how basic an operation this is. So a simple "use these built-in functions" or a "no built-in library implements this" will suffice. Thanks!

• Comparing two Oracle schema, other users

  Hello! I have been tasked with comparing two oracle schema with a large number of tables to find the structural differences in the schema. Up until know I have used the DB Diff tool in Oracle SQL Developer, and it has worked very well. The issue is that now I need to compare tables in a user that I cannot log into , but I can see it through the other users section in SQL developer. The issue is that whenever I try to use the diff tool to compare those objects to the other schema it does not work. Does anyone have any idea how to do this? It would save me a very large amount of work. I have some basic SQL knowledge if that is whats needed. Thanks.

I can of course try the option of not storing the credentials for the Session and supply them for each call but this does not seem like a good idea. Any ideas would be appreciated!

• Silverlight RIA Services. Query fails on large table but works with Where clause

  I have a somewhat large table, maybe 2000 rows by 50 columns. When using the most basic imaginable RIA implementation. Create one-table Model Create DomainService Drop datagrid onto MainPage.xaml Drop datasource onto datagrid Ctrl-F5 I get this error: System.ServiceModel.DomainServices.Client.DomainOperationException: Load operation faild for query. Value cannot be null. Error is much larger, but thats the beginning of it. The weird thing is that if I narrow the results down with a where clause on the GetQuery, it works fine. In fact six different querys which together result in all of the rows being called works fine also. So basically, I'm sure its not some sort of rogue row. Why do I get this "Value cannot be null" error if I query the whole table? Thanks

We use SharePoint in the company for basic document sharing and team sites. I need an easy to use wiki tool which is capable of showing the content like WikiPedia contents and it would be great if I could have the SharePoint tree view and Active Directory authentication also. I googled it and found Atlassian's Confluence and it seems that this product is capable of the requirements. We use Jira for issue tracking, so we can use it's reporting in dashboards. I need and it has a Wiki part which displays wiki pages in tree view. It should be like Does anyone used Confluence or have an idea for other products which meets my requirements

  I am maintaining a legacy Microsoft Access application that is using the Microsoft Flexgrid 6.0. It recently started causing the following error: Run-time error '438' Object doesn't support this property or method People say that this error can be caused by the KB960715 security update being applied, which sets killbits on various ActiveX control methods which were deemed a security risk. But this or no other security update has been applied recently. Others say that installing Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 Service Pack 6 Cumulative Update will update the flex grid. This requires VB6 to be installed as a prerequisite so I installed that on my PC and then the update, and retrieved the updated MsFlxGrd.ocx file(Version: 6.1.98.12) and copied to the application machine, but the error still prevails. Someone here says you can disable the killbit in the registry. But there are afew hundred nodes in the location they suggest, none of which has the same guid as the one they point out. Any ideas?
