• Password-less login into localhost

  I am trying to setup password-less login into my localhost because it's required for a tutorial. I went through the normal steps of generating an rsa key and appending the public key to authorized_keys but I am still prompted for a password. I've also enabled RSAAuthentication and PubKeyAuthentication in /etc/ssh_config. Following other suggestions I've seen, I tried: chmod go-w ~/ chmod 700 ~/.ssh chmod 600 ~/.ssh/authorized_keys But the problem persists. • SSH Keys Authentication keeps asking for password

  Im trying to set access from ServerA(SunOS) to ServerB(Some custom Linux with Keyboard Interactive login) with SSH Keys. As a proof of concept I was able to do it between 2 virtual machines. Now in my real life scenario it isnt working. I created the keys in ServerA, copied them to ServerB, chmod'd .ssh folders to 700 on both ServerA,B. What could be happening? EDIT WITH ANSWER: Problem was that I didnt have those settings enabled in the sshd_config (Refer to accepted answer) AND that while pasting the key from ServerA to ServerB it would interpret the key as 3 separate lines. What I did was, in case you cant use ssh-copy-id like I couldnt. Paste the first line of your key in your "ServerB" authorized_keys file WITHOUT the last 2 characters, then type yourself the missing characters from line 1 and the first one from line 2, this will prevent adding a "new line" between the first and second line of the key. Repeat with the 3d line.

I have tried all of these directives as yes also. debianA and debianB both have identical ssh_config and sshd_config (verified with diff) so the really weird thing is connecting OSX debianB debianA works fine!!   One of the new features of Server 2008 is the ability to attach a task to a specific event in the event logs. One of the actions available is to send an email through a SMTP server. This is working great, however it would be ideal if in the message body, the Event contents could be placed. I have tried using $eventdescription and %eventdescription%, but those are just shots in the dark. Any amount of googling produces no results. Does anyone know if this is possible? Update: Sparks' suggestion below is a step in the right direction I believe, however that method doesn't seem to work for all values. For example, I can pull the RecordID, Severity and Channel as shown, but I can't use the same method to retreive the EventID, or most importantly the description. • SSH from ubuntu server to Windows 2008 repeatedly asks for password

  I am trying to setup GIT using SSH mode. The central GIT repository is on a NAS device running Windows 2008 server and the user GIT repository is on ubuntu 12.04. When I try to SSH to the windows machine however I am not able to successfully get in. SSH keays are not setup but I think the problem is even before that since I cant get in just by providing the correct password. The output from the SSH command is below.   I'm trying to upload a file (which can be quite large) from the website of one server to the backend of another server using plupload. Origin http://www.websitedomain.com is not allowed by Access-Control-Allow-Origin. Does anyone know how to stop the browser from checking or how i can tell my server to just accept the POST?

• Save and restore multiple layers within a Photoshop action that flattens

  I'm editing comic pages with layers - "background", "foreground", "lineart" and "over lineart". I have a Photoshop action that includes a Mode-Bitmap command, which requires the image to be flattened. I need this part of the action because I use the Halftone Screen method of reducing the greyscale image to bitmap on the "background" layer, creating a certain effect. I am pretty sure there is no filter or anything else that gives the same effect. After the mode is changed to bitmap, my action changes things back to greyscale for further changes. This poses a problem. I only want to do the bitmap mode change on the background layer, and after I do the change I want to restore the layer structure as it was - with the foreground, lineart and over lineart layers back above the now-halftoned background. My current method of saving these layers and restoring them is clumsy. My action is able to automatically save the "foreground" layer by selecting it, cutting it, then pasting it back in after the mode changing is over. But, for the "ink" and "over ink" layers, I have to manually cut these layers, paste them into a new document, and later re-cut and re-paste after running my action. This is so clunky! What I would like to know is if it's possible to set aside my layers in an automated way, and then bring them back in, also in an automated way. An ugly (but functional) solution would be to replicate my actions of creating new documents and pasting them temporarily there, but I don't think Photoshop allows you to do things outside of your current document with an action. It seems to me that the only way to do what I want is to use the "hack" of incorporating the clipboard into the action as a clever hack, but that leaves me stuck as I have two more layers that can't fit onto that same clipboard. Help or suggestions would be appreciated. I can keep on doing it manually, but to have a comprehensive action would save me a ton of time.

• How to short-circuit Eclipse AutoComplete when "by relevance" Sorting is enabled?

  I know there's a number of autocomplete articles scattered around stack and eclipse relevant communities. I haven't seen a solution that I have been able to make work. Essentially it goes like this... I like sorting by relevance (since it usually has a decent priority), but sometimes I want to short circuit the autocomplete without having to hit x 2. If I have a class that has a couple methods like, getThis(), getThat, and get(), and eclipse picks up that I usually use getThis(), but every once in a while I want the get() method. So I type "Class" "period" "get(" -- whoops eclipse just filled in getThis(). When the sorting is alphabetically, this isn't an issue, but "by relevance" is a nice default. Just wondering if I'm missing the boat on something. Obviously one solution is to increase the latency on the autocomplete popup, but get() might just be an example. There might a situation where the method I want is a few parameters and maybe more than 3 keystrokes. Thank you.

  Environment: Windows 2008 Server Edition Netbeans 6.7.1 Glassfish 2.1 Apache 2.2.15 for win32 Original problem (almost fixed): The HTTP/1.1 GET method to send data fails if I wait for more than 30 seconds. What I did: I added to the http.conf file of Apache these lines: # # Timeout: The number of seconds before receives and sends time out. # Timeout 9000 # # KeepAlive: Whether or not to allow persistent connections (more than # one request per connection). Set to "Off" to deactivate. # KeepAlive On I went to the Glassfish panel (localhost:4848) and in Configuration HTTP services and I put: Timeout request: 9000 seconds (it was 30) Standby time: -1 (it was 30 seconds) Problem: I am not able to put for glassfish a timeout bigger than 2 minutes to send a GET method. I found this article about glassfish settings, but i'm not able to find WHERE I should put those parameters, and if they could work. Can anybody help try to set this timeout to a higher limit? Maybe it's even a different setting? New tried solution: I went to the glassfish panel control, and to Configuration Subprocesses "Thread-pool-name" and changed the idle timeout from 120 seconds to 1200 seconds. Then I restarted the glassfish service (both from the administrative tools and from asadmin), but still it waits 120 seconds to go idle. I even tried restarting the whole server, still no results. Maybe some setting in postgres? Or the connection of netbeans to postgres through glassfish?

• SMF restarting service whenever there's output?

  I'm trying to add a custom service to SMF's configuration, which seems successful in that the service starts and there is a log file, but therein lies the problem; the service, on start-up, prints some logging messages to the stderr. It seems that SMF is seeing those messages and, believing them to be errors, restarts the service, giving up after a number of tries and leaving the service off. Here's part of the log output: [ Mar 30 14:59:54 Enabled. ] [ Mar 30 14:59:54 Executing start method ("java server.CustomServer"). ] Starting server... [ Mar 30 15:00:04 Method or service exit timed out. Killing contract 107. ] Running the server directly on the commandline is fine, and AFACS there are no errors being encountered during startup, other than the output. What would be the best way to manage this service with SMF? The logging is needed for diagnosing problems, and would be problematic to disable. Is it possible to configure this service to only restart if the service exists?

• Apache form authentication issues

  I am trying to authenticate users through Apache using the form authentication method to restrict https requests to a certain folder. Although, regardless of whether the correct login details are provided it keeps reloading the same page except the url has the form values embedded in it instead of redirecting to the appropriate page. I need to use the form authentication type instead of basic so I can write my own html for the user to login. I am using Apache 2.4.9 and this is our current configuration. • How to securely control access to a backend key server?

  I need to securely encrypt data in my database so that if the database is dumped, hackers are unable to decrypt the data. I'm planning on creating a simple key server on a different machine, and allowing the DB server access to it (restricted by IP address on the key server to permit the DB server). The key server would contain the key required to encrypt/decrypt data. However, if a hacker were able to get a shell on the DB server, they could request the key from the key server and therefore decrypt the data in the database. How could I prevent this (assuming all firewalls are in place, DB is not connected directly to the internet, etc)? i.e. is there some method I could use that could secure a request from the DB server to the key server so that even if a hacker had a shell on the DB server they'd be unable to make those same requests? Signed requests from the DB server could make issuing these requests less trivial - I suppose that'd help increase the amount of time it'd take to compromise the key server, something a hacker probably wouldn't have much of. As far as I can see, if someone can get a shell on the DB server everything's lost anyway. This could be mitigated by using one key per data item in the DB so at least there's not a single "master" key, but multiple keys that the hacker would need to access. • C# Showing Form with WS_EX_NOACTIVATE flag

  I have a borderless form which is always on top and with WS_EX_NOACTIVATE flag set to prevent it for gaining focus. const int WS_EX_NOACTIVATE = 0x08000000; protected override CreateParams CreateParams { get { CreateParams param = base.CreateParams; param.ExStyle |= WS_EX_NOACTIVATE; return param; } } Form contains small picture box for moving (since it's borderless): private void pictureBox4_MouseMove(object sender, MouseEventArgs e) { if (e.Button == MouseButtons.Left) { ReleaseCapture(); SendMessage(this.Handle, 0xa1, 0x2, 0); } } However when I move the window it doesn't get redrawn/shown, only when I release the mouse button it moves form to that location. I saw some application which are are working in a similar fashion but they are showing the window while moving (like some virtual keyboards I saw) and also many questions on net about this issue but no answer. Can someone please tell me is it possible to show window/form like this while moving (like "normal" window) and if yes, how to do it? Thanks.

  What is the most efficient way to create a constant (never changes at runtime) mapping of strings to ints? I've tried using a const Dictionary, but that didn't work out. I could implement a immutable wrapper with appropriate semantics, but that still doesn't seem totally right. For those who have asked, I'm implementing IDataErrorInfo in a generated class and am looking for a way to make the columnName lookup into my array of descriptors. I wasn't aware (typo when testing! d'oh!) that switch accepts strings, so that's what I'm gonna use. Thanks!

• Why won't OpenCV compile in NVCC?

  Hi there I am trying to integrate CUDA and openCV in a project. Problem is openCV won't compile when NVCC is used, while a normal c++ project compiles just fine. This seems odd to me, as I thought NVCC passed all host code to the c/c++ compiler, in this case the visual studio compiler. The errors I get are? c:\opencv2.0\include\opencv\cxoperations.hpp(1137): error: no operator "=" matches these operands operand types are: const cv::Range = cv::Range c:\opencv2.0\include\opencv\cxoperations.hpp(2469): error: more than one instance of overloaded function "std::abs" matches the argument list: function "abs(long double)" function "abs(float)" function "abs(double)" function "abs(long)" function "abs(int)" argument types are: (ptrdiff_t) So my question is why the difference considering the same compiler (should be) is being used and secondly how I could remedy this.

  It just gives me a blank window, and the splash screen doesn't go away. I tried running it in a terminal, turns out it's a problematic plugin. Is there a way to disable that plugin without the GUI?   I wrote some AES encryption code in C# and I am having trouble getting it to encrypt and decrypt properly. If I enter "test" as the passphrase and "This data must be kept secret from everyone!"   I'd like to iterate over a std::map using BOOST_FOREACH and edit the values. I can't quite get it. typedef std::pair<int, int> IdSizePair_t; std::map<int,int> mmap; mmap[1] = 1; mmap[2] = 2; mmap[3] = 3; BOOST_FOREACH( IdSizePair_t i, mmap ) i.second++; // mmap should contain {2,3,4} here Of course this doesn't change anything because I'm not iterating by reference. So I substitute this line instead (as per the example in the Boost docs): BOOST_FOREACH( IdSizePair_t &i, mmap ) and I get the compiler error: error C2440: 'initializing' : cannot convert from 'std::pair<_Ty1,_Ty2>' to 'IdSizePair_t &' with [ _Ty1=const int, _Ty2=int ] Any suggestions?

  Hi, people. I try to use openmp for multithreading the loop through std::set. When I write the following code - #pragma omp parallel for for (std::set<A>::const_iterator i = s.begin(); i != s.end(); ++i) { const A a = *i; operate(a); } I get an error - error: invalid type for iteration variable 'i' error: invalid controlling predicate error: invalid increment expression. So is there an another way to correct iteration in std containers using openmp? There is a workaround to use int i and iterate from 0 to s.size() and using iterator inside a loop body, but this is not looks good.

I have tried setting char *envp[1] = {"DISPLAY:0.0"}; and execute 'xhost +' , I dont' see the 'cannot open display' warning, but my program is still not launched.
