  Have you ever been challenged with the situation where your work task asks you to implement functionality in the WebCenter Portal and you browse through the Resource Catalog (Business Dictionary) and find the functionality you need. However when you get started there is small short comings and you ask your self- how can I re-use what is out of the box ca?- I wonder what code I need to use to produce the similar functions and include my new requirements?- Must I write a new taskflow? The answer to above questions are in many times answered with simply you can  do a taskflow customization to out-of-the-box taskflows. In this post I will help you understand how to do such customization. Best described is a 4 step process, see image flow below for illustration: Just to clarify few naming confusions that might occur when go through above process. • Unable to mount smb share. "Please select another viewer and try again". Please help. Serious smb/nautilus foo needed

  This don't think this is the typical, "I can't mount a windows share" post. I am using stock Ubuntu 12.04. I am pretty sure this is a Nautilus issue, but I have reached a dead end. I have one share that I can't mount using smb://server/share via nautilus. I get the following error. Error: Failed to mount Windows share Please select another viewer and try again I can mount this share from other machines(non-ubuntu) using the same credentials so I know I have perms on the destination share. I can mount other shares on other servers from my Ubuntu box so I am pretty sure I have all the smb packages I need on my Ubuntu box. To make thing more interesting, if I use smbclient from the command line, I mount this share with no problems from my Ubuntu box. So here's what we know: destination share perms are ok (no problem accessing from other machines) smb is setup correctly on Ubuntu box (access other windows shares no problem) I only get the error when using nautilus smbclient in terminal works, no problem Any help would be greatly appreciated. Googling turned up simple mount/perms issues, and I don't think that is what is going on here. Let me know if you need more information. Hugh

• Is HTML5/WebGL performance unreliable on low-end Android tablets and phones?

  I've developed a couple of WebGL games, and am trying them out on Android. I found that they run very slowly on my tablet, however. For example, a game with 10 sprites or so runs as 5fps. I tried Chrome and CocoonJS, but they are comparably slow. I also tried other games, and even games with only 5 or so moving sprites are this slow. This seems inconsistent with reports from others, such as this benchmark. Typically, when people talk about HTML5 game performance, they mention well-known and higher-end phones and tables. While my 7" tablet is cheap (I believe it's a relabeled Allwinner tablet, apparently with the Mali 400 GPU), I found it generally has a good gaming performance. All the games I tried run smoothly. I also developed an OpenGL ES 2 demo with 200 shaded 3D objects, and it ran at 50fps. My suspicion is that many low-end and white-label devices may have unacceptable HTML5/WebGL support, which means there may be a large section of gamers you will not reach when you choose this as your platform. I've heard rumors about inconsistent performance of HTML5 and WebGL on different devices, but no clear picture emerges. I would like to hear if any of you have had similar experiences with HTML5 or WebGL, or whether I can find information about the percentage of devices I can expect to have decent performance.

• Linux Software RAID: How to fsck on hard drive?

  We have a Linux server running with Software RAID1. We see some issues in /var/log/messages like: unreadable sector. I want to perform a complete fsck on the drive to get some more information, but a fsck /dev/md0 brings a clean due to the Software RAID layer in between. How can I check the real hard drive? Do I need to disassemble the whole RAID? How do I deal with the inconsistency in the partition due to the additional Software RAID header? Does anyone have a good idea for this?

• Google local search rankings is it possible without the use of citations

  I have a client that is wanting a website design for his self-run business... Basically he is a self employed plumber so his home address is not visitable by the public, however the problem here is that he does not want his home address visible on the internet at all for one reason or another. I have informed him the benefits of having his address visible for such reasons as trust by customers as well as the benefits via Google's local search algorithms (Citations - Visible Address Details) on various directories including Google Maps, and Google Places. But he is clear that he does not want his address online and wants SEO + Web Design without any citations. Now, I care about my reputation in my local area and do not like do half-cut jobs, If I do SEO I want them to be the best they can otherwise word of mouth that customer could say to someone else after my services they are no where to be seen, (I know you can't keep them all happy but none the less). This is kinda new for me since Google introduced local rankings and something I've never had to do... So my question is fairly simple and hope that people who reply have some kind of experience in attempting ranking websites locally without citations.. Is it even possible to rank a local website with Google's local algorithms without the use of citations (address information)?

• Disk failure is imminent Laptop Hard drive ~5 months old

  There's another post about this, but I don't have enough 'points' to say anything on that thread. So I'll start my own ... with more details! My computer still boots, but gnome domain reports problems with HDD smart. This has been confirmed in the bios as it makes me press f1 to boot up now. I tried running HDD disk check in the bios, but it fails running the tests. As in, running the tests failed not that the tests themselves indicated a failed drive. But so far I have not been able to find any tutorials that contain specific examples for each steps. I would like to get a running setup up somehow so I will be able to play around with it... • Finding terms surrounding a trending hashtag?

  I'm looking for a way to find "sub-trends", or words that are trending beneath a larger trend. For instance, say "#foo" is the hashtag for a conference. Searching for "#foo" only gives you a general overview of what people are talking about -- if "#foo" moves too quickly, it becomes really difficult to track disparite conversations at #foo. If "#bar" and "#abc" are two different sessions at "#foo", one can find more specific information by searching for "#foo #bar" or "#foo #abc"; yet, how would one find out about the existence of these surrounding hashtags, i.e., sub-trends? If you look at the screenshot for Peoplebrowsr, there's a panel that looks for "words surrounding [trend]," which seems to be exactly what I'm looking for. Is there a way to accomplish this more simply, i.e., without paying $149 /mo. for Peoplebrowsr? Thanks! Update: Another service that can do this is Twazzup (click for example). The "Community" panel has some limited info on surrounding words; is there a tool that does this, but with more detail?

• mdadm: breaks boot due to "is not ready yet or not present" error

  This is so damn frustrating :-| I've spent like 20 hours on this nice error, and seems like dozens of people over Internet too, and no clear solution yet. I have non-system RAID-5 of 5 disks, and it's fine. But during boot up it says that "/dev/md0 is not ready yet or not present" and asks to press 'S'. Very nice for Ubuntu Server - I have to bring monitor and keyboard to go next. After this system boots and it's all fine. md0 device works, /proc/mdstat is fine. When I do mount -a - it mounts this array without errors and works fine. As a dumb and shameful workaround I added noauto in /etc/fstab, and did mounting in /etc/rc.local - it works fine then. • Installer doesn't display partition I want to install to

  While performing a Ubuntu 10.10 installation on my laptop, it doesn't show partitions pertaining to the PC. My PC configuration is as follows : HP Pavilion dv6 - 2020AX AMD Turion II Dual Core Mobile Processor M500 4 GB RAM OS Installed : Windows 7 500 GB Hard drive partitioned as follows : C : 227 GB (Free : 142 GB) D : 11.9 GB (Free : 1.98 GB) - Recovery F : 174 GB (Free : 18 GB) G : 50.5 GB (Free : 50.4 GB) So, I want to perform a Dual-boot installation on my PC, so that Ubuntu resides in the free disk space G:. Therefore, I started the Ubuntu 10.10 installation and select the manual partitioning feature in the installation. However, in the 'Allocate Drive Space' section of the installation, following partitions information is displayed: Partition Type Size Used /dev/sda /dev/sda1      1 MB    unknown /dev/sda2    ntfs    208 MB   unknown /dev/sda3   ntfs    244813 MB    168540 MB /dev/sda4    ntfs    255083 MB   3221 MB where /dev/sda - 500 GB So, what exactly is the problem? What is it should I do to install Ubuntu 10.10 in the G: disk space? Why are the partitions not being shown as the way they should be? Any Suggestions. Thank you for the help.

When I use vsphere clinet to connect VC.....I got a problem. the performance chart only can show "realtime "...... whatever I only want to view the chart , or I want to export the performance log . when i manually want to export performance, and I select the time to 1 hour ,1 day ,1 month, or from a to b. it showed "No performance data to report for selected objects" only select realtime can export data normally. Before I install Vsphere 4 , I install the SQL 2008 , used the schema in the install CD(I follow the step to create SQL DB for vSphere) Could anybody help me how to solve this problem? • PCI compliance when using third-party processing

  My company is outsourcing the development of our new e-commerce site to a third party web development company. The way they set up our site to handle transactions is by having the user enter the necessary payment info, then passing that data to a third party merchant that processes the payment, then completing the transaction if everything is good. When the issue of PCI/DSS compliance was raised, they said: You wont need PCI certification because the clients browser will send the sensitive information directly to the third party merchant when the transaction is processed. However, the process will be transparent to the user because all interface and displays are controlled by us. The only server required to be compliant is the third party merchant's because no sensitive card data ever touches your server or web app. Even though I very much so trust and respect the knowledge of our web developers, what they are saying is raising some serious red flags for me. The way the site is described, I am sure we will not be using a hosted payment page like PayPal or Google Checkout offers (how could we maintain control over UI if we were?) And while my knowledge of e-commerce is laughable at best, it seems like the only other option for us would be to use XML direct to communicate with our third party merchant for processing. My two questions are as follows: Based off everything you've read, is "XML Direct" the only option they could conceivably be using, or is there another method I don't know of which they could be implementing? Most importantly, is it true our site does not need PCI certification? As I understand it, using the XML direct method means that we do have to be PCI/DSS certified, and the only way around getting certified is through a payment hosted page (i.e. PayPal).

• reinstalling phpmyadmin

  EDIT:: installed mysql-server but no phpmyadmin (since phpmyadmin was installed before mysql, that resulted an error). How to reinstall phpmyadmin with database (there is no phpmyadmin datbase)? unstalling it and reinstalling it didn't help. i was trying to install phpmyadmin (and zend framework) through synaptic manager but in the middle i was prompted for password i thought it was phpmyadmin password and i proceeded but i got error and i aborted. and then again i tried to reinstall, it reinstalled but i am not getting phpmyadmin. • How to find which tab a particular Chrome process refers to

  I often have 6 or 7 separate Chrome windows open, often with 5-10 tabs in each. When I look at Windows Task Manager, I see each chrome.exe process, with some using a large amount of memory. How can I find which particular tab the process refers to? I want to know which one uses the most memory and close that tab instead of having to close every Chrome window. Is there any way to get this information? This is on Windows Vista, but it is the same on other versions of Windows as well.

• Java EE 7 JSR Submitted

  Java EE 7 has been filed as JSR 342 in the JCP program. This JSR (Java Specification Request) will develop Java EE 7, the next version of the Java Platform, Enterprise Edition. It is an "umbrella JSR" because the specification includes a collection of several other JSRs. The proposal suggests the addition of two new JSRs: Concurrency Utilities for Java EE (JSR-236) and JCache (JSR-107) as well as updates to JPA, JAX-RS, JSF, Servlets, EJB, JSP, EL, JMS, JAX-WS, CDI, Bean Validation, JSR-330, JSR-250, and Java Connector Architecture. There are also two new APIs under discussion: a Java Web Sockets API and a Java JSON API. These are the new JSRs that are currently up for ballot:• JSR 342: Java Platform, Enterprise Edition 7 Specification• JSR 340: Java Servlet 3.1 Specification• JSR 341: Expression Language 3.0• JSR 343: Java Message Service 2.0• JSR 344: JavaServer Faces 2.2All 5 JSRs are now up for Executive Committee voting with ballots closing on 14 March, and slated for inclusion in Java EE  7.  All of these JSRs are also open for Expert Group nominations. Any JCP member can nominate themself to serve on the Expert Groups for these JSRs. Details on how to become a JCP member are on jcp.org.   When Apple decided to open retail stores, they came to 360Commerce (now part of Oracle Retail) to help with the secret project. Similarly, when Disney Stores decided to reinvent itself, they also came to us for their POS system. In both cases visiting a store is an experience where sales take a backseat to entertainment, exploration, and engagement This quote from a recent Stores Magazine article says it all: "We compete based on an experience, emotion and immersion like Disney," says Neal Lassila, vice president of global information technology for Disney. "That's opposed to [competing] on price and hawking a doll for $19.99. There is no sales pressure technique." Instead, it's about delivering "a great time." While you're attending the NRF conference in New York next week, you'll definitely want to stop by the new 20,000 square-foot Disney store in Times Square. If you're not attending, you can always check out the videos to get a feel for the stores' vibe. This year we've invited Disney Stores to open a pop-up store within the Oracle Retail booth. There will be lots of items on sale that fit in your suitcase, and there's no better way to demonstrate our POS, including the mobile POS running on an iPod Touch. You should also plan to attend Tuesday morning's super-session The Magic of the Disney Store: An Immersive Retail Experience with Steve Finney. In the case of Apple and Disney, less POS is actually a good thing. In both cases it was important to make the checkout process fast and easy so as not to detract from the overall experience.
