  • What's the best approach for modifying PDF interactive form fields on iOS?

    I've been doing some head banging on this one and solicit your advice. I am building an app that as part of it's features is to present PDF forms; meaning display them, allow fields to be changed and save the modified PDF file back out. UIWebViews do not support PDF interactive forms. Using the CGPDF apis (and benefit from other questions posted here and elsewhere), I can certainly present the PDF (without the form fields/widgets), scan and find the fields in the document, figure out where on the screen to draw something and make them interactive. What I can't seem to figure out is how to change the CGPDFDictionary objects and write them back out to a file. One could use the CGPDF Apis to create a new PDF document from whole cloth, but how do you use it to modify an existing file? Should I be looking elsewhere such as 3rd party PDF libs like PoDoFo or libHaru? I'd love to hear from anyone who has successfully modified a PDF and written it back out as to your approach. Thanks!

  • Re-ordering a collection of UIView's based on their CGPoint

    Hi all, I have a NSMutableArray that holds a collection of UIViewControllers Amongst other properties and methods an instance of each of the viewControllers are placed in a parent view The user will place these objects individually when desired to. So essentially I use - (void)addSubview:(UIView *)view when a new view is added to the parent view controller. Because the UI is isometric it's made things a tad more complicated What I am trying to do is re-order the views based on their co-ordinate position, so items higher up the parent UIView frame is indexed lower then views lower in the parent UIview frame. And items that are on the left side of the view are positioned at a higher index to those on the right I think the solution may have to do with re-ordering the NSMutableArray but how can I compare the CGpoints? Do I need to compare the x and y separately?

    How do I use comma-separated-value file received from a URL query in Objective-c? when I query the URL I get csv such as "OMRUAH=X",20.741,"3/16/2010","1:52pm",20.7226,20.7594. How do I capture and use this for my application? My problem is creating/initializing that NSString object in the first place. An example is this link "http://download.finance.yahoo.com/d/quotes.csv?s=GBPEUR=X&f=sl1d1t1ba&e=.csv" which returns csv. I dont know how to capture this as an object since I cannot use an NSXMLParser object.

  • NSXMLParser 's delegate and memory leak

    Hello, I am using a NSXMLParser class in my program and I assign a delegate to it. This delegate, though, gets retained by the setDelegate: method resulting to a minor, yet annoying :-), memory leak. I cannot release the delegate class after the setDelegate: because the program will crash. Here is my code: self.parserDelegate = [[ParserDelegate alloc] init]; //retainCount:1 self.xmlParser = [[NSXMLParser alloc] initWithData:self.xmlData]; [self.xmlParser setDelegate:self.parserDelegate]; //retainCount:2 [self.xmlParser parse]; [self.xmlParser release]; ParserDelegate is the delegate class. Of course if I set 'self' as the delegate, I will have no problem but I would like to know if there is a way to use a different class as delegate with no leaks. Thank you in advance.

    Since i'm working with Titanium i realzed that its current JavaScript Interpreter doesn't accept specific coding-styles. So for for-loops and if-statements i have to have braces, even though i only want to span one line. Furthermore there is more i have to change if i want to use a Javascript Library like underscore.js.     Hello, I am working to force a view into landscape mode, and have picked up all kinds of cool tips to make this happen, but am stuck on one item that is left on the screen. I have my XIB file laid out in landscape, and in my code I create the view controller normally: RedeemViewController *aViewController = [[RedeemViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"RedeemViewController" bundle:nil]; aViewController.hidesBottomBarWhenPushed = YES; aViewController.wantsFullScreenLayout = YES; [[self navigationController] pushViewController:aViewController animated:YES]; Inside the controller viewDidLoad I complete the following: [[UIApplication sharedApplication] setStatusBarOrientation:UIInterfaceOrientationLandscapeRight]; [[self navigationController] setNavigationBarHidden:YES animated:YES]; [UIView beginAnimations:@"View Flip" context:nil]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:.75]; [UIView setAnimationCurve:UIViewAnimationCurveEaseInOut]; if (self.interfaceOrientation == UIInterfaceOrientationPortrait) { self.view.transform = CGAffineTransformIdentity; self.view.transform = CGAffineTransformMakeRotation(degreesToRadian(90)); self.view.bounds = CGRectMake(0.0, 0.0, 480, 320); } [UIView commitAnimations]; What I end up with is a perfectly rotated view, with a grey vertical bar on the left side (see pic). So to the question, how do I get rid of the bar? Edit: I am pretty sure this is the navigation bar that is not being hidden. This is a duplicate of another post, with some modified code, the other question was being answered with the bug.
