  • Is there an application or way to sync address book, Facebook, LinkedIn, Gmail contacts?

    I'm looking for a Mac application or an Web application to sync all my Facebook, LinkedIn, Gmail contacts and Mac OS X address book contacts in one place. At the same time, it would be great if it didn't create a bunch of duplicates. (PS: The default sync between gmail contacts and address book seems to only create duplicates and doesn't seem to really work well together). Does anyone have a solution?

  • How to block a specific site's directory in windows?

    How can I block a specific directory of a website as e.g. http://example.com/someSite unfortunately the hosts file is not an option since you can only block whole domains there and any "/" just destroys these rules. This is just for my personal protection against visiting some sites too often, while i still have to be able to get to the other sites of that domain (as e.g. example.com/someOtherSite) Would be great if someone knows a solution regarding this topic.

    Expired domain names = downtime for websites. Downtime = bad. How does your organization make sure domain names have been renewed? I believe ICANN requires registrars to give a notice at 60 days and 30 days, but these can easily get ignored -- especially with a large amount of domains. Does your solution work for a large amount of domain names? ( 100) Is it registrar specific?

  • Decreasing cached memory and increasing Free memory in RAM

    Hi, Im using windows 2007 server 64 bit OS, I've uploaded the snap shot of my task manager when minimum processes running It shows Total memory 8190 mb *Cached memory 4315 mb* Free 3402 mb So effectively I get only 3402 mb of total RAM usage My question here is more than half is used for cached memory is there any means I can decrease this cached memory inturn I can increase my free memory. I need to do this because my Application requires at least 5GB RAM and it crashed when run in this system. Please give me a solution for this Thanks in advance

Basically I'd like to write a batch file that switches that setting for a large group of file types and be able to share it with my entire team. Clicking in the UI is time consuming for everyone.     Is there any reason paths are still limited to ~250 characters in Windows? I'm not asking about a solution here (since there isn't one, other than \\?\ perhaps), but about why this is still an issue in 2012. Microsoft itself has failed to provide an explanation, so I'm hoping that maybe someone here, who has more insight into this than me, can provide an answer. Also, if \\?\ is supposed to be the "cure" to this, why aren't paths implicitly converted to the \\?\ notation by Microsoft's own programs?

    I've posted the following question to SO, but thought there might be a server based solution. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/9053964/php-script-with-sleep-does-not-exit-on-connection-close I'm running an Ubuntu VPS to run this script, and I'm trying to get the script to die when the user closes the window/tab of his browser. There are several PHP based functions to see if the connection is still open, but none works (trust me, tested them all). Any creative ideas on how I can do this through the server maybe?

  • How can I create a cron job that runs a task every three weeks?

I'm able to set up cron to do this every week, or (for example) on the 3rd week of every month - but can't find a way to do this every three weeks. I could hack the script to create temporary files (or similar) so it could work out it was the third time it has been run - but this solution smells. Can it be done in a clean way?

    Hi, I'm looking for a solution that'll automatically sync file system changes in "/folder1" to "/folder2". Any change should be synced (deleted files, new folders etc.) without any confirmation. Preferably the changes will happen to "/folder2" instantly. "/folder1" is on my hdd "/folder2" is on a server on the LAN (can be accessed via SSH or NFS) I'm on OS X 10.6. I would also like a section that shows the tasks for today and another for high-priority tasks coming up within a week. I have not programmed in Excel before.     I usually work with a lot of instances of visual studio open to different projects, I was wondering if there is a way to snapshot/hibernate a running process to disk instead of closing it so that I can open it in the same state as it was quickly. I have a ton of free disk space so wouldn't mind saving the entire process snapshot if it would save me the time in opening up the solution and waiting for the projects to load.

    I'm running Ubuntu Desktop 12.04, and I was wondering if it was possible to somehow take my whole filesystem (everything under /) and create an ISO from it. Then, perhaps, use that ISO as the file system of a VBox VM (obviously, it would have to be Ubuntu, and probably 12.04). Basically, I've spent a lot of time configuring my development machine, but need to be able to work on it from whatever computer I happen to be at. VMs seem like the perfect solution.   • SFTP "Could not connect to server error"

    I'm having problems connecting to my server via SFTP. I can SSH in to the system perfectly fine, but for some odd reason, i'm not able to SFTP (which I used to be able to). I have cleared ALL my iptables rules iptables -F still no access. I have removed the sub system (to allow FULL access) still no access. I can't for the life of me figure out what the problem is. Thus is therefore making a solution impossible.
