Does anybody out there know of a lgpl licensed Property Grid control for c#. I know there is a property grid control in the monodevelop source but I was wondering if there were other options?
Dears,
I have a report server project in VS2005, and I added an oracle data source to my project and I did anything like my college! both of us did the same settings but I can't connect to the server. I connected to DB in TOAD but in VS2005 I couldn't. What should I check?
I get this error during test connection :
ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified
Are there any repercussions using Negative Primary Keys for tables (Identity Increment -1, Identity Seed -1 in SQL Server 2005)?
The reason for this is we're creating a new database to replace an existing one. There are similar tables between the two databases and we'd like the "source" of the information to be transparent to our applications. The approach is to create views that unions tables from both databases. Negative PKs ensures the identities don't overlap.
I was debugging my project, at some point I also need to debug dll file.
What I did, I locate source code file and open it and all thing went well.
But now, when I reach at the same point dll file automatically open.
How could I avoid this situation? it annoy me.
When refactoring away some #defines I came across declarations similar to the following in a C++ header file:
static const unsigned int VAL = 42;
const unsigned int ANOTHER_VAL = 37;
The question is, what difference, if any, will the static make? Note that multiple inclusion of the headers isn't possible due to the classic #ifndef HEADER #define HEADER #endif trick (if that matters).
Does the static mean only one copy of VAL is created, in case the header is included by more than one source file?
In the linux kernel, are there any data structures that automatically always hold the last written block number for a partition? I can't find any built-in kernel source that could be used to get this information. Any help is appreciated.
Hello,
do you know any browser-side component, in HTML/Javascript, Flash, Applet or Silverlight, that
would allow source code edition with syntax highlighting and auto-completion.
CodeMirror has a good syntax highlighting support but does not seem to support auto-completion.
If no such editor exists do you know any way to implement auto-completion using HTML and javascript or any other browser-side technology ?
Thanks by advance.
Google App Engine provides a image API for storing / retrieving images. We are currently not in a position to deploy our application on top of App Engine because of limitations in the java frameworks (jboss seam 2.2.0) we are using to build our j2ee application.
We would eventually want to deploy our production application on top of Google App Engine, but what are the short term options (java based open source products) which provides comparable functionality to Google App Engine's Image API and will have an easier migration path at a later point in time.
Hi, i have a small problem. Im using the ASP.NET Xml control and want to pass it a url to a rss feed and a stylesheet - so that i can style the rss myself on my website. When applying the full web path to the xml control (http://www.myserver.com/myfeed.rss) i get an exception telling me that the document source is not a valid virtual path. What am i doing wrong? I would hate to download the file before showing it...
Hi,
I'm writing a custom UITabBar replacement, and I would like to know how to recreate the filter that the built-in implementation does with the UITabBarItem image - that blue shining on selected tabs and gray gradient on unselected ones. I guess it's a matter of using the source image alpha value as a mask and overlay it with a pre-made blue (or whatever color) shining image and another one grayed out, but I would like to know what is the best approach from a code point of view.
Best,
I have solaris servers I tried to look throught the open source code review tools seens like most are quite hard to install is there any easy to install code review tools?
Hi,
which open source software options exist for generating terminal graphics? I mean, there is for instance the nice matplotlib, which can generate beautiful plots from data, in PNG or similar formats. But there are similar alternatives for generating just kind of ascii graphics?
Thanks
Hello,
I have an ANTLR grammar that can parse and evaluate simple expressions like 1+2*4, etc.
What I would like to do is to evaluate expressions like 2+$a-$b/4 where the $ variables are dynamic variables, that come from an external source and are continuously updated.
Is there any design pattern on how to do this using ANTLR, best practices, etc?
Shall I "substring" the $a with the updated value ($a - 4.34)
A nicer way to do this?
Thx
I have seen source codes always having a typedef for a structure and using the same everywhere instead of using the structure name as "struct sname" etc directly?
What is the reason behind this? Are there any advantages in doing this?
I'am using flexmojos-maven-plugin to build my Flex module. So on the compile phase I'm getting
org.apache.maven.plugin.MojoExecutionException: Error compiling!
with no information on where (on what source file) the error happens and what is nature of the compile error. I'll appreciate if anyone can instruct me on how to make flexmojos-maven-plugin print more information about compile errors.
Hi,
I have followed the documentation in https://developer.mozilla.org/En/Developer_Guide/Source_Code/Mercurial
And I have download FF source using this:
hg clone http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/ src
But how can i switch to the FF3.6 'branch' or 'tag'?
The documentation said 'hg clone http://hg.mozilla.org/releases/mozilla-1.9.2/ 192src' but I don't want to clone both FF main and Ff3.6 twice?
Thank you.
I have installed 64 bits RHEL. I have following questions regarding ant.jar for the system.
I was not able to find ant.jar build with 64 bit JVM from the apache website. Do I have to build it form the source code, if I intend to run the jar on 64 bit JVM?
Would it speed up the build process if I use ant.jar build with 64 bit JVM and run it on 64 bit JVM?
Hi
I am looking for a solution for facebook connect for Android.
Before I used an open source solution from codecarpet: http://code.google.com/p/fbconnect-android/
but now it doesnt work anymore.
Now the Official facebook connect for Android is out, but there are about 11 big time issues and it fails almost all the time, so its not a real solution.
http://github.com/facebook/facebook-android-sdk/
Any idea how to resolve this issue?
Thanks
Hi,
What possible way that I can optimize the boot-time of a Linux OS? Should I modify some scripts or init scripts? If yes, what are the scripts? Can I modify the kernel source?
Many thanks
I have an asp.net C# web forms application in .net framework 4
In my pages, when I view html source it changes control IDs to something like ctl00_CPHPageContents_txtUserID actually it is txtUserID
This application was first in Framework 3.5 and IDs were generated like CPHPageContents_txtUserID
So, in short, in Framework 3.5 Id was CPHPageContents_txtUserID and now in Framework 4 ID is ctl00_CPHPageContents_txtUserID which is breaking our automation tests. Can I remove this ctl00 added by Framework 4?
If I were to start an ecommerce store, which language would you suggest I start with? Python or PHP?
And would it be wise to use Python for an ecommerce site in favor of PHP? PHP has lots of shopping carts, both open source and commercial.
Is Python the future of Web Development ?
Edit:
I would like to clear out that i am not asking for Shopping carts solutions and links to them.
Other than MongoDB and Memcached, what key-value stores run on Windows? Most of the ones I've seen seem to only run on Linux (Hypertable, Redis, Lightcloud).

Hey everybody,
I am using SVN as my source control with ANKH and TortoiseSVN. I am writing a huge change in a project, and it takes a few days to make the change, but in the meantime I still want to commit once in a while for backup.
But if I commit other team members will get updated with my unfinished work.
Is there a way that I can "commit for backup" without changing the revision (so other won't get updated with my changes)?
Thanks!
I need to generate reports in my PHP website (in zend framework)
Formats required:
PDF (with tables & images) // presently using Zend_Pdf
XLS (with tables & images)
DOC (with tables & images)
CSV (only tables)
Please recommend robust and fast solution for generating reports in PHP.
Platform: Zend Framework on LAMP
I know there are some tricky solutions for creating such reports, i wonder is there any open source report generation utility that can be used with LAMP environment
