  I have the following query: var groupCats = from g in groups group g by g.Value into grouped select new { GroupCategory = grouped.Key, Categories = GetCategories(grouped.Key, child) }; This works fine. In the anonymous type returned GroupCategory is a string, and Categories are an Enumerable - what is the proper way to declare this instead of using 'var'? I know, I can do this using "CustomExpressionBuilder", I have tried but if I use following: DataTextField="<%$ MyCustomExpressionBuilder:DisplayName %>" I do not receive the value of the DisplayName field in the overriden "GetCodeExpression" method, but the literal value "DisplayName".   How do I create a method to return the results of a group by in LINQ to sql such as the one below: internal SomeTypeIDontKnow GetDivisionsList(string year) { var divisions = from p in db.cm_SDPs where p.acad_period == year group p by new { p.Division } into g select new { g.Key.Division }; return divisions; } I can't seem to define a correct return type. I think it is because it's an anonymous type but haven't got my head around it yet. Do I need to convert it to a list or something? The results would just be used for filling a combo box.

  I am using the Jena semantic web framework version 2.6.3. I have code that creates a model with owl inferencing and then adds the following triples: [:bnode-3 rdf:type owl:Restriction] [:bnode-3 owl:onProperty :offspringOf] [:bnode-3 owl:someValuesFrom :Person] [:bnode-3 rdfs:subClassOf :Person] bnode-3 is supposed to be a restriction class which, for example, would contain :joe if :bob is a :Person and the following triple were asserted: [:joe :offspringOf :bob]. Then, since the restriction class is a subclass of Person, :joe would also be a person. And, in fact, this works. Whats confusing to me is that after I assert just the 4 triples at the top of this post, the inferencer creates a blank node which is a Person. In other words, the following triple is now in the model: [_:b0 rdf:type :Person] I don't understand why it would do this. Any help in understanding this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Kent.

• What is the cost in bytes for the overhead of a sql_variant column in SQL Server?

  I have a table, which contains many columns of float data type with 15 digit precision. Each column consumes 8 bytes of storage. Most of the time the data does not require this amount of precision and could be stored as a real data type. In many cases the value can be 0, in which case I could get away with storing a single byte. My goal here is to optimize space storage requirements, which is an issue I am facing working with a SQL Express 4GB database size limit. If byte, real and float data types are stored in a sql_variant column there is obviously some overhead involved in storing these values. What is the cost of this overhead? I would then need to evaluate whether I would actually end up in significant space savings (or not) switching to using sql_variant column data types. Thanks, Elan

  I am writing a module for my organization to cache XML feeds to static files to an arbitrary place on our webserver. I am new at Drupal development, and would like to know if I am approaching this the right way. Basically I: Expose a url via the menu hook, where a user can enter in a an output directory on the webserver and press the "dump" button and then have PHP go to drupal and get the feed xml. I don't need help with that functionality, because I actually have a prototype working in Python (outside of Drupal).. Provide a callback for the form where I can do my logic, using the form parameters. • MySQL floating point comparison issues

  I ran into an issue by introducing floating point columns in the MySQL database schema that the comparisons on floating point values don't return the correct results always. 1 - 50.12 2 - 34.57 3 - 12.75 4 - ...(rest all less than 12.00) SELECT COUNT(*) FROM `users` WHERE `points` > "12.75" This returns me "3". I have read that the comparisons of floating point values in MySQL is a bad idea and decimal type is the better option. Do I have any hope of moving ahead with the float type and get the comparisons to work correctly?

• ajaxSubmit options success & error functions aren't fired

  jQuery 1.7.2 jQuery Validate 1.1.0 jQuery Form 3.18 Wordpress 3.4.2 I am trying to code a contact/ mail form in above environment/ with above jQuery libs. Now I am having a problem with the jQuery Form JS: I have taken the original code from the developers page for ajaxSubmit and only altered the target option to an ID which exists in my HTML source and replaced $ with jQuery in function showRequest. The problem is, that the function namend after success: does not fire. I tried the same with error: and again nothing fired. Only complete: did and the function I placed there alerted the responseText from the receiving script. Does anyone has an idea whats going wrong? Thanks in advance! • Perfect hash in Scala.

  I have some class C: class C (...) { ... } I want to use it to index an efficient map. The most efficient map is an Array. So I add a "global" "static" counter in companion object to give each object unique id: object C { var id_counter = 0 } In primary constructor of C, with each creation of C I want to remember global counter value and increase it. Question 1: How to do it? Now I can use id in C objects as perfect hash to index array. But array does not preserve type information like map would, that a given array is indexed by C's id. Question 2: Is it possible to have it with type safety?
