  • Why does fb:fan control disappear after login with requireSession on external page?

    Hi, Reqs: I want to make an external page with a 'Become a Fan'-button. I want users to login to facebook once they open the page (this is because of other features in the site) So I call FB.Connect.requireSession once the page loads, and put a <fb:fan></fb:fan> control on the page. Then when I open the page I see the 'Connect with Facebook to Continue' pop-up and a small 'Become a fan' button. This seems right. When I log in to Facebook using the pop-up the 'Become a fan button' disappears!! Can anyone explain this weird behaviour or does someone know a way to reach my requirements in a different way.   • Can't delete record via the datacontext it was retrieved from

    I just upgraded one of my application's methods to use compiled queries (not sure if this is relevant). Now I'm getting contradicting error messages when I run the code. This is my method: MyClass existing = Queries.MyStaticCompiledQuery(MyRequestScopedDataContext, param1, param2).SingleOrDefault(); if (existing != null) { MyRequestScopedDataContext.MyClasses.DeleteOnSubmit(existing); } When I run it I get this message: Cannot remove an entity that has not been attached. Note that the compiled query and the DeleteOnSubmit reference the same DataContext. Still I figured I'd humor the application and add an attach command before the DeleteOnSubmit, like so: MyClass existing = Queries.MyStaticCompiledQuery(MyRequestScopedDataContext, param1, param2).SingleOrDefault(); if (existing != null) { MyRequestScopedDataContext.MyClasses.Attach(existing); MyRequestScopedDataContext.MyClasses.DeleteOnSubmit(existing); } BUT... When I run this code, I get a completely different contradictory error message: An attempt has been made to Attach or Add an entity that is not new, perhaps having been loaded from another DataContext. This is not supported. I'm at a complete loss... Does anyone else have some insight as to why I can't delete a record via the same DataContext I retrieved it from?

    I'm having problems with an MBean that takes a Map<String, Object> as a parameter. If I try to execute it via JMX using a proxy object, I get an Exception: Caused by: javax.management.ReflectionException at org.jboss.mx.server.AbstractMBeanInvoker.invoke(AbstractMBeanInvoker.java:231) at org.jboss.mx.server.MBeanServerImpl.invoke(MBeanServerImpl.java:668) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:39) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:25) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:597) Caused by: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Unable to find operation updateProperties(java.util.HashMap) It appears that it attempts to use the actual implementation class rather than the interface, and doesn't check if this is a child of the required interface. The same thing happens for extended classes (for example declare HashMap, pass in LinkedHashMap). Does this mean it's impossible to use an interface for such methods? At the moment I'm getting around it by changing the method signature to accept a HashMap, but it seems odd that I wouldn't be able to use interfaces (or extended classes) in my MBeans. Edit: The proxy object is being created by an in-house utility class called JmxInvocationHandler.   • Showing multiple models in a single ListView

    I've three models (Contacts, Notes, Reminders). I want to search all these and produce the filtered result in a single listview and depending upon the selection I've to display the corresponding view(UserControl) to its right. I want the right way of implementing the design or atleast alternatives to this method that I've tried.     Hello, I am trying to access a Linux system's NOR flash memory. I tried use __raw_readl(xxxxx) (through io_p2v) to read NOR memory data, but I failed. Is there any way I can access that memory? Will driver /dev/mem work for this? I guess not. it is only for the RAM maybe. Can anyone help?

Maintenance is relatively easy as this is mostly a generated query, but my concern now is for performance. I am wondering how much of an overhead there is for all of these case expressions. To see if there was any difference, I wrote another version of this query as: select xmlelement("rootNode", xmlforest(XH.ID, XH.SER_NUM,... (I know that this query does not produce exactly the same, thing, my plan was to move the logic to PL/SQL or XSL) I tried to get execution plans for both versions, but they are the same. I'm guessing that the logic does not get factored into the execution plan. My gut tells me the second version should execute faster, but I'd like some way to prove that (other than writing a PL/SQL test function with timing statements before and after the query and running that code over and over again to get a test sample). Is it possible to get a good idea of how much the case-when will cost? Also, I could write the case-when using the decode function instead. Would that perform better (than case-statements)?

However,this representation is hugely different from what I use "view page source" in my Firefox,and since I need to scrape data from the original webpage(some data segement in the original "view page source" file),it will always fail to find required text on this Java representation. Did I go wrong somewhere?I need your advice guys,thanks a lot for helping!

    server: vxworks 6.3 calls the usual socket, bind, listen, then: for (;;) { client = accept(sfd,NULL,NULL); // pass client to worker thread } client: .NET 2.0 TcpClient constructor to connect to server that takes the string hostname and int port, like: TcpClient client = new TcpClient(server_ip, port); This is working fine when the server is compiled and executed in windows (native c++). intermittently, the constructor to TcpClient will return the instance, without throwing any exception, but the accept call in vxWorks does not return with the client fd. tcpstatShow indicates no accept occurred. What could possibly make the TcpClient constructor (which calls 'Connect') return the instance, while the accept call on the server not return? It seems to be related to what the system is doing in the background - it seems more likely to get this symptom to occur when the server is busy persisting data to flash or an NFS share when the client attempts to connect, but can happen when it isn't also. I've tried adjusting priority of the thread running accept I've looked at the size of the queue in 'listen'. There's enough. The total number of file descriptors available should be enough (haven't validated this yet though, first thing in the morning)

    We are trying to optimise some of our queries. One query is doing the following: SELECT t.TaskID, t.Name as Task, '' as Tracker, t.ClientID, (<complex subquery>) Date, INTO [#Gadget] FROM task t SELECT TOP 500 TaskID, Task, Tracker, ClientID, dbo.GetClientDisplayName(ClientID) as Client FROM [#Gadget] order by CASE WHEN Date IS NULL THEN 1 ELSE 0 END , Date ASC DROP TABLE [#Gadget] (I have removed the complex subquery, cos I dont think its relevant other than to explain why this query has been done as a two stage process.) Now I would have thought it would be far more efficient to merge this down into a single query using subqueries as : SELECT TOP 500 TaskID, Task, Tracker, ClientID, dbo.GetClientDisplayName(ClientID) FROM ( SELECT t.TaskID, t.Name as Task, '' as Tracker, t.ClientID, (<complex subquery>) Date, FROM task t ) as sub order by CASE WHEN Date IS NULL THEN 1 ELSE 0 END , Date ASC This would give the optimiser better information to work out what was going on and avoid any temporary tables. It should be faster. But it turns out it is a lot slower. 8 seconds vs under 5 seconds. I cant work out why this would be the case as all my knowledge of databases imply that subqueries would always be faster than using temporary tables. Can anyone explain what could be going on!?!?

    I have a requirement to run an application through my MVC controller. To get the installation path I used following link (I used answer provided by Fredrik Mörk). It worked and I could able to run the exe through a process. The problem occurred when I deployed this solution on IIS where it did not create the process as it was creating in local dev environment.   • Upload file using jquery dialog not working

    i want to upload file using jquery dialog. I have created a partial view and showing that partial view in the dialog. The problem is, when I directly browse the partial view and upload a file, it works perfect. BUT when I put the partial view inside a jquery dialog, it submits the form, but don't submits the file. So i have null value. I really dont understand what is the difference here!!   • Reading lines of data from text files using java

    I have a text file with x amount of lines. each line holds a integer number. When the user clicks a button, an action is performed via actionlistener where it should list all the values as displayed on the text file. However, right now I have linenum set to 10 implying I already told the code that just work with 10 lines of the text file. So, if my text file has only 3 rows/lines of data...it will list those lines and for rest of the other 7 lines, it will spit out "null". I recall there is a way to use ellipsis to let the program know that you don't know the exact value but at the end it calculates it based on the given information. Where my given information will the number of lines with numbers(data).     I'm trying to set up authentication on my server, however, I know little about Php. I have a php file filled with users and passwords: function getPassword( $user ) { // the user/password database.
