  • Getting individuals keys replaced on netbook.

    Hi all, Just today during a freak accident, a book got tossed onto my Samsung N120 netbook while it was open and the 'G' and 'T' key flew off. Part of the plastic underneath broke off. I was wondering where I would be able to find suppliers for individual keys for my netbook. Also, would it be better to replace the entire keyboard? Thanks in advance.

  • OS X Enclosing folder shortcut?

    This may have been asked before, but I'm wondering whether there is a shortcut for navigating to the enclosing folder in OS X (Snow Leopard)? I find navigating Finder particularly frustrating since it's hard navigating back to the enclosing folder (especially when you jump to a folder and realize the back button is disabled)... I'm hoping for something other than Command+Up, since that's the key combination I use to navigate Spaces.

  • What super-calculator do you use?

    Windows Calculator can switch into a "Scientific" mode, getting more math and logical operators, but that's not good enough. I know there are tons of features its missing, such as the ones we see in the Windows 7 calc, or simply making things more visual. Its been years and I still haven't found a good calculator replacement. Suggestions? And hopefully your calc replaces MS Calc when I press the dedicated "calculator key" on my Keyboard, so I don't have to hunt around for a shortcut.

  • Is there a way to get docky to launch a new instance?

    So i'm really loving the whole gnome-do/docky thing. My question is that on other docks, you can hold down a modifier key to launch a new instance rather then switching to an already opened instance of an app. So lets say I have chrome on the win7 dock first click launches chrome other clicks will focus the opened window shift click will open a new instance of chrome ctrl-shift-click will launch a new instance as admin is there anything similar in docky?

    I have Xubuntu 11.10, XFCE. I want to send DBus signals to the players so that they worked like in Gnome: you press 'play' key, it plays, 'next' - it forwards, and so on. For that, I need to bind to the multimedia keys a set of commands like this: dbus-send --dest=org.gnome.Rhythmbox ... Now, I searched and can't find it: what signals should I send? I need only 3 events: play, forward and rewind.

    Hi All, I know this is weird, but is there a .plist or key that I can edit to make the Finder use a different folder besides ~/Desktop for its Desktop folder? Why? Because I really like the BumpTop Desktop for Mac, but when I am not using it, I want my actual Finder Desktop to be of different contents. BumpTop only looks at ~/Desktop that I can tell.

    my xp sp3 o/s system is alread set to boot from cd rom 1st, but once the bootable cd is found and i get the "Press any key to Load " (or something like that) my keyboard and mouse will not work until windows begins to load. Any ideas on why and what the fix may be?

GParted reports /dev/sda1 (with exclamation mark and key sign) ntfs 1 KiB unallocated 320 MiB /dev/sda2 hfs+ 2.84 MiB unallocated 931.2 GiB When trying to create a partition with Disk Utility it says Daemon is inhibited It seems I can't create the partition that way.   • How to maximise a window within a Windows remote desktop session

    I'm logged in to a Windows 7 machine from a Windows 7 desktop, using the standard Remote Desktop client. Is there a key short cut to maximise a window within the remote desktop session (equivalent to Windows+up arrow)? I want the remote desktop session to NOT be full screen on my client machine, but to easily maximise windows on the remote session to the full size of the remote desktop window.     Hi I have a fresh install of Crunchbang (basically Ubuntu with Openbox instead of Gnome). In any case, I can't connect to my WPA network - when I click on it in the nm-applet and it asks me to authenticate my only options are: WEP 10/128-bit key WEP 128-bit Passphrase LEAP Dynamic WEP (802.1x) wpa_supplicant is indeed installed, yet WPA does not get listed... any ideas?
