• Set automatic axis limits without defaulting to zero (Excel)

  I am build a bar chart in Excel with data values ranging from e.g. 10 to 20. I want the X axis limits to be automatic, but although the right limit (near 20) works correctly, the left limit always defaults to 0. I'd like the left limit to be near 10, instead of zero, without having to have the limit fixed. Is there any way to do this?

All of my attempts to build it, in most of the configurations I could think of, resulted in working Clang, but it didn't use libc++ headers, but default GCC's libstd++'s ones, resulting in numerous faults in incompatible pieces of library code. I would like it working out of the box, without having to do magic in .bashrc or passing all those -stdlib=libc++ and -lc++ to compiler and linker.

  I've looked up comparisons and found that single core performance seems to be better on i7 4770k, but has less cores that the i7 4930k. • Winforms TabControl causing spurious Paint events for UserControl

  For our project, we've written a WinForms UserControl for graphing. We're seeing some strange behavior when our control is sited in a TabControl - our control continuously fires Paint events, even when there is absolutely no activity by the user. We only see this in the TabControl. When we site our control in other containers such as Forms or Splitters, Paint is only fired when you'd expect e.g. when the control is first displayed, etc. Can anyone suggest why this might be happening?   Hi, I have a main form which contains multiple worker threads. These threads raise events which update Telerik controls on the main form. The event handlers contain code which check if InvokeRequired and BeginInvoke where required. At random interval I am receiving the following exception, and have no idea on how where to find this? • Reproduce PIPE functionality in IronPython

  Hi, I am hoping some genious out there can help me out with this... I am using sox to merge and resample a group of WAV files, and pipe the output directly to the input of NeroAACEnc for encoding to AAC format. I originally ran the process in a script, which included: sox.exe d:\audio\1.wav d:\audio\2.wav d:\audio\3.wav -c 1 -r 22050 -t wav - | neroAacEnc.exe -q 0.5 -if - -of test.m4a This worked as expected. The '-' in the comand line translates as 'Pipe/redirect input/output (stdin/stdout)' - So Sox pipes to stdout, and NeroAACEnc reads from stdin, the | joins them together. I then migrated the whole solution to Python, and the equivalent command became: from subprocess import call, Popen, PIPE runwav = Popen(['sox.exe', 'd:\audio\1.wav', 'd:\audio\2.wav', 'd:\audio\3.wav', '-c', '1', '-r', '22050', '-t', 'wav', '-'], shell=False, stdout=PIPE) runm4b = call(['neroAacEnc.exe', '-q', '0.5', '-if', '-', '-of', 'test.m4a'], shell=False, stdin=runwav.stdout) This also worked like a charm, exactly as expected. Slightly more convoluted, but hey :) Well now I have to move it to IronPython, and the Subprocess module isn't available (the partial implementation that is, doesn't have Popen/PIPE support - plus it seems silly to add a custom library when there is probably a native alternative). I should mention here, that I opted for IronPython over C#, because I am comfortable with Python now - however, there is a chance of moving it again later to C# native, and I am using IronPython to ease myself into it :) I have no C# or .net experience. I have searched and searched, so I thought I'd ask! If anyone knows either: How to join the two streams with the same net result as the Python and Commandline versions; or A better way to acheive what I am trying to do. I would be extremely grateful! • Unable to capture standard output of process using Boost.Process

  Currently am using Boost.Process from the Boost sandbox, and am having issues getting it to capture my standard output properly; wondering if someone can give me a second pair of eyeballs into what I might be doing wrong. I'm trying to take thumbnails out of RAW camera images using DCRAW (latest version), and capture them for conversion to QT QImage's. Currently, if I comment out the following line: args.push_back("-c"); then the thumbnail is written by DCRAW to the source directory with a name of CFK_2439.thumb.jpg, which proves to me that the process is getting invoked with the right arguments. What's not happening is connecting to the output pipe properly. FWIW: I'm performing this test on Windows XP under Eclipse 3.5/Latest MingW (GCC 4.4).

• .NET Application broken on one PC, unhandleable exception

  Hello people. I have a .NET 2.0 application with nothing fancy in it. It worked until yesterday on every PC I installed or copied it to, no matter if 2.0, 3.0, 3.5 or 3.5 SP1 was installed, no matter if it was Win2000, XP or even Win7 (in total 100+ machines). Yesterday I did my normal installation procedure and wanted to start it one time to check if everything is working...and it wasn't. The program crashed hard leaving me with the uninformative "Do you wanna report this error?" dialog. The problem is an exception in the Main(String[] args) routine of my application. Edit: I'm using Visual Studio 2008 Prof.. Crash happens in Release- and Debug-Build on the client machine. Debugging the application directly on this machine is out of question I fear, 300+ Miles and they only have two computers to work with.

• C# Windows Service Multiple Config Files

  Quick Question Is it possible to have more than 1 config file in a windows service? Or is there some way I can merge them at run time? Scenario Currently I have two config files containing the below contents. After I build and install my Windows Service, I can't get my custom XML Parser class to read the content because it keeps pointing to the wrong config file, even though I am using a few lines of code to ensure it gets the right name of the config file I need to access. ALSO When I navigate to the folder in which the service is installed, there is only sign of the normal APP.Config file, and no sign of the custom config file. (I have even set the normal ones properties to "Do Not Copy" and the custom ones properties to "Copy Always"). • RoR custom routing/Method/View problem all methods come back as undefined

  I am playing with custom view and routes. I think that I have everything right but obviously not. Essentially I tried to copy the show method and show.html.erb but for some reason it will not work.
