• JQueryMobile 1.1.1 List items not anchoring to the left

  I'm trying to create a simple thumbnail list, the code is pretty much copied off jqm docs pages. However, when I use the code below the button element of the list isn't anchored to the left of the list item and instead appears centered...Can anyone help me? It's driving me crazy!   Hello everybody. I want to send a soap request to a webservice method. Now i want to send the parameter as an xml input for that request. so plz can anybody give me an idea of how to do it in iphone? • How to deal with unknown entity references?

  I'm parsing (a lot of) XML files that contain entity references which i dont know in advance (can't change that fact). For example: xml = "<tag>I'm content with &funny; &entity; &references;.</tag>" when i try to parse this using the following code: final DocumentBuilderFactory dbf = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance(); final DocumentBuilder db = dbf.newDocumentBuilder(); final InputSource is = new InputSource(new StringReader(xml)); final Document d = db.parse(is); i get the following exception: org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: The entity "funny" was referenced, but not declared. but, what i do want to achieve is, that the parser replaces every entity that is not declared (unknown to the parser) with an empty String ''.   I pull categories of one section from an XML. Problem is, pulled categories need to recognize tab plugin so I tried to add tab plugin to CategoryName variable. But it is not working. • Mirror network packets from WiFi to Ethernet in an ASUS Router RT N53

  I have an ASUS RT N53 router, running the default firmware (Linux 2.6.22 with busybox and uclibc). I need to capture data packets from some Wi-Fi devices I have connected to that router (iPad and some smartphones), but the router is not forwarding any package coming from Wi-Fi devices to the Ethernet Ports. Any idea how can I proceed? Available tools in the router are iptables (no tee option, though), ebtables, brctl... • Expanders inside listbox leaving blank space on collapse

  We have a rather complex UI that is presenting some problems for us. I have a ListBox that contains a set of DataItems. The DataTemplate for each item is an Expander. The header is text, the content of the Expander is a ListBox. The ListBox contains SubDataItems. The DataTemplate for each SubDataItem is an Expander. Here is a simplified XAML in which I reproduce the issue: <ListBox ItemsSource="{Binding Items}"> <ListBox.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <Expander Header="{Binding Header}"> <ListBox ItemsSource="{Binding SubItems}"> <ListBox.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <Expander Header="{Binding SubHeader}"> <Grid Height="40"> <TextBlock Text="{Binding SubText}" /> </Grid> </Expander> </DataTemplate> </ListBox.ItemTemplate> </ListBox> </Expander> </DataTemplate> </ListBox.ItemTemplate> </ListBox> There is a problem with how the layout is produced. If any Expander corresponding to the SubDataItem is expanded, the ListBoxItem containing this ListBox (the Expander.Content in the parent DataTemplate) correctly requests more space. So I can expand all SubDataItems and correctly see my data. However, when I collapse, the space I previously asked to expand, remains blank, instead of being reclaimed by the ListBoxItem. This is a problem because if I have say 10 SubDataItems and happen to expand all of them at the same time and then collapse, there is a significant amount of white space wasting my real estate. How can I force WPF to resize the ListBoxItem to the correct state?

• Exchange 2007 automatically adding IP to block list

  This puzzled me. We have all mail directed to an ISP's spam filter, then delivered to SBS 2008 Exchange. One of the ISP's IP numbers suddenly appeared in the ES2007 block list, set to expire in 24 hours I think, so emails started bouncing. Quick look through the typically ponderous docs, and I can't see anything that says Exchange will auto-block an IP number, but nobody is admitting to adding it manually and I think it must have done. Anyone know about this or where it is configured? Obviously one could disable block lists completely but I'd like to know exactly why this happened.

• jQuery UI Dialog Issue With IE

  I am using the new jQuery 1.3.2 and jQuery-ui-1.7 libraries along with the UI Dialog. I have a div tag with several form elements (textbox, checkbox, etc.) in it. Upon page load, jQuery shows the div as a dialog. This works absolutely fine in FF, but in IE, the height of the div is wrong. It is just showing the title bar a bit of the content. I explicitly set the height when creating the div. If I set the height option after opening the dialog, the height is corrected, but the content is blank (shows the top third of a textbox). If I allow the dialog to be resizable, if you resize it in IE it works fine, but I don't want to force IE users to resize just to see the contents. Any ideas? • Downloading From Google Docs

  Hello, I am using the gdata-java-client Version 2 with for and Android app that allows users to download documents from their Google Docs account. Currently I am able to authenticate, request and display a list of all the user's documents. From here I would like to open each type of document in a specific Activity. If it's a spreadsheet or a csv file, open it in one activity and if it is a text document open it in another activity. This is where things are getting hazy. First I need to determine what type of document the user selected in order download the file in the appropriate format by appending exporFormat=(csv,xls,doc,txt) to the query string. I don't see any indication in the original list of documents as to what kind of file the each entry is. Secondly as a test I can just append a raw string to the end of the query string. As an example, a query might look like this: https://spreadsheets.google.com/feeds/download/spreadsheets/Export?key=0AsE_6_YIr797dHBTUWlHMUFXeTV4ZzJlUGxWRnJXanc&exportFormat=xls Notice that at the end of the string is the hardcoded export format. This query returns a HTTPResponse with a 200 OK message. However if I look at the response.content or use response.parseAsString I see what appears to be a Google Docs home page has html text. I don't get this result when I try to download a text document. When I request a text document the response.content is the body of the text file. If I copy and paste this uri into a browser I get the requested file as a download. To summarize, this question is two-fold: 1. How do I determine the type( plain text, .doc, .csv, .xls ) of a document from the initial list of user documents. 2. How do I download the actual .csv or spreadsheet files? Thanks in advance.

• Ajax post not posting email address ?

  UPDATE: It will not work in Firefox, but will work on any other browser. I even tried loading Firefox in safe mode (disabling all plugins, etc.) and still no worky. :( I'm trying to do an AJAX post (on form submission) to a separate PHP file, which works fine without trying to send an email address through the post. • Dynamic change .click value Jquery IE issue.

  Hello guys.. it's i first time i'm asking here. Sorry if the answer is available already. I have a very small jQuery script that canges the paramether for onclick attr on a DIV. IT works like as right and left arrows for some content in the middle. BAsically i set the onclick="foo(1)" then when get clicked sld change the value 1 to 2, and keep changing everytime i click. on jQuery functio i'm using: $("#v_arrow_r").attr('onclick','').unbind().click(newclick_next); it works like a charm on FF and Chrome, but does not work on IE !!!!   So I sent an HTTPWebRequest using application/x-www-form-urlencoded as my content type. I assume that this means the reponse will be returned in a similar type? (EDIT: Have now been told this isn't the case) My question is this. How do I access the different key/value pairs returned in the response. My code so far looks like this. I can of course read the string but surely there is a better way to access the data other than ripping the string apart. • Client side page call/scrape?

  Here is the problem: I have a web application - a frequently changing notification system - that runs on a series of local computers. The application refreshes every couple of seconds to display the new information. The computers only display info, and do not have keyboards or ANY input device. The issue is that if the connection to the server is lost (say updates are installed and a server must be rebooted), a page not found error is displayed). We must then either reboot all computers that are running this app, OR add a keyboard and refresh the browser, OR try to access each computer remotely and refresh the browser. None of these are good options and result in a lot of frustration. I cannot change the actual application OR server environment. So what I need is some way to test the call to the application, and if an error is returned or it times out, continue trying every minute or so until the connection is reestablished. My idea is to create a client-side page scraper, that makes a JS request to the application (which displays basic HTML), and can run locally on the machine, no server required. If the scrape returns the correct content, it displays it. If not it continues to request the page until the actual page content is returned. Is this possible? What is the best way to do it?

• Google Maps Controls panel size is displayed wrong

  I have a weird problem with Google Maps Control. I've tested in a blank page my custom maps with custom markers and everything seems to be ok, also with the control panel. When I tried to import all my code in the page I'm working with ( I use a full screen fluid grid system ) the control panel is displayed with strange size. I tried everything for disable/enable the ui of the Google Maps but the problem remain. The code of my maps are exactly the same, both in my blank page and in my site, but in the site the ui control panel is displayed very strange.   I am following Ryan Bates's tutorial on Rails 3 ActionMailer. I generate the mailer in terminal and then establish a setup_mail.rb under config/initializers. • Formula in table header cells

  I have a table in Excel 2007 that I want to summarise, in a similar fashion to a Pivot Table, but for various reasons I can't use a pivot table. I like the "Format as table" features of sort and filter buttons, automatic formatting etc, so have used that to create a simple table: A B C N +-----------+------------+------------+-------+------------+ 1 | | 01/01/2010 | 01/02/2010 | ... | 01/12/2010 | +-----------+------------+------------+-------+------------+ 2 | CategoryA | 15 | 545 | | 634 | 3 | CategoryB | 32 | 332 | | 231 | 4 | CategoryC | 5 | 234 | | 644 | | ... | | | | | 27 | CategoryZ | 2 | 123 | | 64 | +-----------+------------+------------+-------+------------+ The numbers are retrieved from a "back-end" pivot table using GETPIVOTDATA(). All that works fine. Now, the problem is that I can't seem to use formulas for my column headings in these new "smart" tables - they are converted to text or just broken. For example if in B1 I put NOW(), I don't get the date, I get 00/01/1900. Is there any way of getting a formula to work in the auto tables? • Can't store UTF-8 in RDS despite setting up new Parameter Group using Rails on Heroku

  I'm setting up a new instance of a Rails(2.3.5) app on Heroku using Amazon RDS as the database. I'd like to use UTF-8 for everything. Since RDS isn't UTF-8 by default, I set up a new Parameter Group and switched the database to use that one, basically per this. Seems to have worked: SHOW VARIABLES LIKE '%character%'; character_set_client utf8 character_set_connection utf8 character_set_database utf8 character_set_filesystem binary character_set_results utf8 character_set_server utf8 character_set_system utf8 character_sets_dir /rdsdbbin/mysql-5.1.50.R3/share/mysql/charsets/ Furthermore, I've successfully setup Heroku to use the RDS database. After rake db:migrate, everything looks good: CREATE TABLE `comments` ( `id` int(11) NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, `commentable_id` int(11) DEFAULT NULL, `parent_id` int(11) DEFAULT NULL, `content` text COLLATE utf8_unicode_ci, `child_count` int(11) DEFAULT '0', `created_at` datetime DEFAULT NULL, `updated_at` datetime DEFAULT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (`id`), KEY `commentable_id` (`commentable_id`), KEY `index_comments_on_community_id` (`community_id`), KEY `parent_id` (`parent_id`) ) ENGINE=InnoDB AUTO_INCREMENT=4 DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8 COLLATE=utf8_unicode_ci; In the markup, I've included: <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> Also, I've set: production: encoding: utf8 collation: utf8_general_ci ...in the database.yml, though I'm not very confident that anything is being done to honor any of those settings in this case, as Heroku seems to be doing its own config when connecting to RDS. Now, I enter a comment through the form in the app: "Úbe® ƒåiL", but in the database I've got "Úbe® Æ’Ã¥iL" It looks fine when Rails loads it back out of the database and it is rendered to the page, so whatever it is doing one way, it's undoing the other way. If I look at the RDS database in Sequel Pro, it looks fine if I set the encoding to "UTF-8 Unicode via Latin 1". So it seems Latin-1 is sneaking in there somewhere. Somebody must have done this before, right? What am I missing?

• Make a <div> disappear inside a javascript script

  First of all, I have this line of code on a random page : <script type="text/javascript" src="script.php"></script> On the page named "script.php", I have a <div class="something">random text</div> and the random text is displayed and everything is working fine. Now, I would like to know if it's possible to make that specific <div> to disappear without having to modify the code inside the "script.php" page. Thank you ! • Is this the best way to make an API request using PHP CURL?

  Hello all, I have a site that has a simple API which can be used via http. I wish to make use of the API and submit data about 1000-1500 times at one time. Here is their API: http://api.jum.name/ I have constructed the URL to make a submission but now I am wondering what is the best way to make these 1000-1500 API GET requests?   At work there are about 40 PCs. I want to block all the websites and only allow a few Domains/Websites for operators. A few operators can access anything. I want something quick and easy so I can filter the Block/Allow websites for all computers from one main computer, like a server or something. Windows Vista Home and Windows 7 Home are installed on the PCs. Is there any software can do this? PS: Please don't answer about Microsoft Windows Server OS..

  I'm attempting to inject an iframe from a content script. From the content script, post a message to the iframe, without much success. This is the closest I have got. Wasn't totally ideal but I do have it working now, I guess. iframe.php window.addEventListener("message", function(e) {alert("test");}); I am however able to do the reverse, talk to the parent script from the iframe.

• How important is the website logo on a page?

  I have stopped to insert "img" tags for the logo of the page. Because its not an image that is part of the content, its a design element but its still a information I want to have control over. So I just write the title in a "a" element as display: block, overflow: hidden and I push the text out with some padding. I think thats a good solution for SEO because you are keeping control of how important the logo should be on a page. But now my dilemma is starting. How important is the logo of a page? "A list apart" puts the logo in a h1 element. But is the logo really that important? On article pages you have two H1 elements (the logo and the title of the article) Most of the sites just use a img balbal /a, but I don't like this solution. Because I just want to use img for images that are part of the content... Its kinda philosophical question, I hope you can give me some input or some articles to read about that...

• Stop Rewrite htaccess create random pages

  Recently I saw in my Webmaster tools that some random sites are linking to my site. Actually this is not an big issue. The issue comes when the pages that are linked are not real pages because of my httaccess file. This is the htaccess code that Im running: <pre> #Options +FollowSymLinks RewriteEngine on RewriteRule ^([^/\.]+)/?$ index.php?id=$1 [L] RewriteRule ^([0-9]+)/(.*)$ index.php?id=$1 [L] </pre> So the real URLs would be: mysite.com/folder/999/TITLE-OR-NAME But cecause I only check the 1st folder ($1) which is an I numberD, this htaccess file is allowing hackers linking to my site with random URLs like: mysite.com/folder/999/TITLE-OR-NAME1 mysite.com/folder/999/TITLE-OR-NAME2 mysite.com/folder/999/TITLE-OR-NAME3 mysite.com/folder/999/TITLE-OR-NAME4 mysite.com/folder/999/TITLE-OR-NAME5 The worst part comes when google tells me that I am duplicating content!!! Actually I am not duplicating content, the htaccess is duplicating it for me. And yes I know, Im a bad newbie programmer but Id really appreciate your help with this cause Im struggling to find a solution but it never. Thank you very much for all your support to this newbie :)
