    I am making an server control application ( simple with some buttons to start/stop the server ) And when the user wants to close the application there will be prompted an confirm box. But when I start the application and close it with the X button or with "Close Window" I will be prompted with the question until I click on no, then it will close. It's a loop and it stops when you first click on yes then on no. Can someone help me with solving this ?

  • Mongodump on Gridfs is killing the host IOs

    I'm trying to make a mongodump from our production mongodb while the production is running. We have three production instances, one regular mongodb, one with very few gb of data on gridfs, one with a larger amount of data on gridfs. All mongodb instances are running in version 2.4.9 on a ubuntu 10.04 virtual server. I use a mongodump command to export the bases to another server. Unfortunately our machines are virtually hosted in a "low performances" datacenter (vmware based) so when I try to export the large gridfs db, the disk IO hits 100% (and 50% of the cpu starts waiting for IO too). This has a very negative impact on the production applicatiosn because db access time is excessively increased, making the applications unusable. I'm looking for a way to regulate the mongodump so the export goes slower but cooler on the hardware ressources allowing better performances for the applications to run. Has anyone had a similar scenario ?

  • What is wrong here (will update): subset in geom_point does not work as expected

    1. I'm writing a chat based application on TCP communication. I'm using NetBeans and I want to add functionality to the default EXIT_ON_CLOSE when exiting JFrame. The reason of course is because I want to clean resources and end threads safely. How can I call a method that clear resources and only then close the JFrame safely and end the process. 2. I need to implement the server side. The server has List/HashMap/Queue of 'Socket' with their chat nick-names. Is there any simple design pattern to do it correctly because I don't want to re-invent the wheel. thanks.

  • Managing important runtime business logic with regard to a codebase

    I'm working on a project which will end up have a lot of application information stored in the form of records in a database. In this case, it's the configuration of data views: which grid columns to show/hide default filters to apply to each grid view column titles sorting subtotaling ... This information is a big part of the value of the application and is essential to it's function. The data will be altered by admins a fair amount, so it's not static and it wouldn't be appropriate to have to deploy a new version of the app every time the data changes. The question is, Where should this data be stored? It will definitely live in the database because that's how it's accessed, but I feel like it needs to also be kept with the version controlled codebase because it's an integral part of functioning of the application. Has anyone dealt with an issue like this before? What did you end up doing?

When any of these labels are dragged to some textfield and released over a textfields UIlabel test is assigned to that text field. Now the problem is this I want to assign the text of UILabel to some specific position in textfield according to release of textfield i.e If user releases at the beginning of text field then it should be appended at the beginning and if somewhere near end of text of textfield then it should be appendended at the end.     Hello, some journals require each figure to be submitted in a separate document. However, they do want the figure legends to be listed in the main document. I was thus hoping to do something along these lines: \section{Figure Legends} \begin{description} \item[Figure \ref{fig:fireAntBiology}] \label{fig:fireAntBiology} bla bla ants \end{description} This would still permit to \ref the figure from the main text. However, it doesn't work (The \ref returns the number of section "Figure Legends"). The following correctly gives a different number to each "figure": \item[Figure \ref{fig:fireAntBiology}] \begin{figure} \caption{\label{fig:fireAntBiology}} \end{figure} bla bla ants However, it also places empty figure floats throughout the document.   • apache returning "The connection was reset"

    One of my dedicated servers had some network issue today and the data center has to replace some router. Since then the sites on that server returns "The connection was reset" error most of the time. I tried installing nginx and it opens better, but it still shows the error sometimes. Everything in the config seems normal, what could be causing this error? UPDATE: Just noticed that in whm apache status there are always only 1 requests currently being processed, 8 idle workers. I know for sure the server received thousands of requests per minute. What could be limiting this to such a low number?

    It is very common in Rails for an objects_controller controller to have RESTful edit and destroy actions like so: def edit @object = Object.find(params[:id]) end def destroy @object = Object.find(params[:id]) @object.destroy redirect_to :back end With an associated view that provides edit and destroy links like so: <%= link_to "Edit the Object", edit_object_path(object) %> <%= link_to "Delete", object, :confirm => 'Are you sure?', :method => :delete %> And it is easy to blow this up. If I open two browser windows, A and B, destroy an object with the "Delete" link in browser A and then press the "Edit" link in browser B, the find() in the edit action throws an exception. Obviously there are several ways to deal with this in the edit action: catch the exception and recover gracefully use @object = find(:first, "conditions... etc. and test the @object before going further But seeing as this is such a common pattern, I would love to know how other folks deal with this situation.

    I have two models -- User and Entry -- that are related through a has_many relationship (a User has many Entries). I'm using RESTful routing, and have the following in my routes.rb file: map.resource :user, :controller => "users" do |user| user.resources :entries end This seems to work, but in my partial _form file, when I do this: form_for [@current_user, @entry] do |f| # Form stuff end It generates a URL like this: /user/entries.%23%3Cuser:0xb6a6aea8%3E instead of /user/entries Am I missing something? I should note that the correct classes are applied to the form when doing creation vs. editing, so it does seem to be correctly interpreting what I'm trying to do -- it's just that I can't submit the form to an invalid url.

  • STORED PROCEDURE working in my local test machine cannot be created in production environment.

    Hi, I have an SQL CREATE PROCEDURE statement that runs perfectly in my local SQL Server, but cannot be recreated in production environment. The error message I get in production is Msg 102, Level 15, State 1, Incorrect syntax near '='. It is a pretty big query and I don't want to annoy StackOverflow users, but I simply can't find a solution. If only you could point me out what settings I could check in the production server in order to enable running the code... I must be using some kind of syntax or something that is conflicting with some setting in production. This PROCEDURE was already registered in production before, but when I ran a DROP - CREATE PROCEDURE today, the server was able to drop the procedure, but not to recreate it.   • How do I revert back to official Linksys firmware from dd-wrt on WRT56G2 v1?

    I've been having trouble with dd-wrt on my Linksys WRT56G2 v1 router and want to go back to the stock Linksys firmware for it. The router has only 2MB of flash memory, and so I'm running the 'micro' version of dd-wrt. My question is what is the best way to do that? I could use the http://router/Upgrade.asp dd-wrt "firmware upgrade" web interface to do it, in which case there's a dropdown menu choice for "After flashing, reset to": "don't reset" or "reset to default settings". Which should I pick? Some people say that I should use a program called tftp.exe instead. I can probably gain access to a Windows machine if this is necessary. Which of these is the way to proceed? I don't want to brick the router if at all possible! Note: I used the 'wrt54g' tag because I wasn't allowed to create a 'wrt54g2' tag due my low rep here.

To me both the code are doing same thing. Yes in the first case I am passing a proc and in the second case I am passing a block. But &block converts that block into proc.     Hi We have a dedicated sql-server 2008 r2 enterprise edition. The setup is: D: (data files) - stored on local ssd disks (not the same disks as log files) (raid 10) E: (log files) - stored on local ssd disks (not the same disks as data files) (raid 1) F: (transaction log backup) - stored remote on a SAN Today we moved our log files to new disks (from F: to E:). From a shared volume ( F:(SAN)) to dedicated local disks (E:). What then happend was that the "disk time", "avg. transfer time" and "avg disk write queue length" increased on the volume where we have the data files (D:) (not on the volume where the log files are located). The data volume and log volume does not share disks, however they share the same controller card. "Disk idle time" is low for all volumes. One thought is ofcourse that the controller card might be overloaded. But, we need more ideas on where the problem might be.

    I want to hide the urls for editing users and their profiles behind safer and meaningful urls. For instance, I want /user/13/edit to be /settings/account and /user/13/profile/edit to be /settings/profile. I managed to achieve that, but for that I had to load the user information from the current_user bit from the session. Like so: # users_controller def edit @user = current_user end # profiles_controller def edit @user = current_user @profile = @user.profile end But now, since I can't compare @user.id from the params with the current_user in the session, how can I stop the old urls (/user/13/edit and /user/13/profile/edit) from being exploitable? They always load the forms for the current user, so there's no harm done, but I'd be more comfortable if they just produced a 404 error or something. Thanks in advance.

    I have writing a small shooting game in cocos2d. Winning the game is to eliminate all the 10 enemies. After that end screen comes showing 'You Won' and 'Play Again'. If I go for 'Play Again' option the game is starting from where I need. But, the problem is that the game is continuing from previously ended state. I mean it is not starting from enemy 1 again instead it is just showing the end of 10 enemy. I think I have to reset all the values before pushing the scene. But should I reset all the values I have used or there is any other way ? Thank You.
