• Why is this XMLHttpRequest sample from Mozilla is not working in Firefox 3?

  I'm trying to get the sample code from Mozilla that consumes a REST web service to work under Firefox 3.0.10. The following code does NOT work in Firefox but does in IE 8! Why is this not working? Does IE 8 have support for XMLHttpRequest? Most examples I've seen use the ActiveX allocation. What should I be doing? XMLHttpRequest seems more standardized. This is strange as I allocate the req object, am running it in Firefox, and checked to make sure it is defined before calling open (which it says it is of type 'object'). I double checked and 'Enable JavaScript' is turned on in Firefox - seems to work fine in all other web pages. My problem was indeed cross-domain. I was viewing my site unpublished (just on the file system) which was hitting a published service. When I published my site under the same domain it worked. Which also brings up an important distinction between IE and Firefox. When IE experiences this scenario, it prompts the user whether or not they accept the cross-domain call. Firefox throws an exception. While I'm fine with an exception, a more descriptive one would have been helpful. Thanks for all those who helped me.

  Hi, I am new to Java and junit. I have the following peice of code that I want to test. Would appreciate if you could send your ideas about what's the best way to go about testing it. Basically, the following code is about electing a leader form a Cluster. The leader holds a lock on the shared cache and services of the leader get resumed and disposed if it somehow looses the lock on the cache. • L2S DataContext out of synch: row not found or changed

  The Problem I am getting a number of errors that imply that the DataContext, or rather, the way I am using the DataContext is getting out of synch. The error occurs on db.SubmitChanges() where db is my DataContext instance. The error is: Row not found or changed. The problem only occurs intermitently, for example, adding a row then deleting it. If I stop the dev server and restart, the added row is there and I can delete it no problem. Ie, it seems that the problem is related to the DataContext losing track of the rows that have been added. IMPORTANT: Before anyone votes to close this thread, on the basis of it being a duplicate, I have checked the sql server profiler and there is no "Where 0 = 1" in the SQL. I have also recreated the dbml file, so am satisfied that the database schema is in synch with the schema represented by the dbml file. Ie, no cases of mismatched nullable/not nullable columns, etc. My Diagnosis (for what it is worth): It seems to be a problem related to how I am using the DataContext. I am new to MVC, Repositories and Services patterns, so suspect that I have wired things up wrong. The Setup Simple eLearning app in its early stages. Pupils need to be able to add and delete courses (Courses table) to their UserCourses. To do this, I have a service that gets a specific DataContext instance Dependency Injected into its constructor. • jQuery animation menu height

  Hey all i have the following jsfiddle Fiddle that i need some help on. When i have my mouse over it-it expands out to a static width but, depending on the text length, it grabs it by the inner's text $('.inner').height(). Problem being is that it goes a little too far beyond the last text list item and when i roll over any of the text in the menu box it slides back up a little. How can prevent it from (1) sliding back up and (2) have the exact height needed without even having the extra space at the bottom of the box for its height? • Reusing my PagedList object on WCF

  The problem: I have a custom collection PagedList<T> that is being returned from my WCF service as PagedListOfEntitySearchResultW_SH0Zpu5 when T is EntitySearchResult object. I want to reuse this PagedList<T> type between the application and the service. My scenario: I've created a PagedList<T> type that inherits from List<T>. This type is on a separated assembly that is referenced on both application and WCF service. I'm using the /reference option on the scvutil to enable the type reusing. I also don't want any arrays returned so I also use the /collection to map to the generic List type. • StackOverflowException throws often when .net application built with Debug mode

  I have an application which access an external webservice often, when i are trying to debug it, means debuging in vistual studio. it often throws out StackOverflowException at the webserverice call point. when building in Release mode , the exception thrown out only occasionally. • How to retrive message list from p2p

  Hello friends I have a messaging system that uses p2p. Each peer has a incoming message list and a outgoing message list. What I need to do is whenever a new peer will join the mesh he will get the all the incoming messages from other peers and add those into it's own incoming message list. Now I know when I get the other peer info from I can ask them to give their own list to me. But I'm not finding the way how..? Any suggestion on this or help would be highly appreciated.   I wrote a .asmx web service which I'm trying to consume from a java client. I'm using axis2's wsdl2java to generate code. But it says that the wsdl is invalid. What exactly is the problem here? It is .net which generated the wsdl automatically after all. Are there problems with wsdl standards, rather the lack of them? What can I do now?   I have a machine, which is the Host and has HAProxy installed in it and working. Then I have a Guest KVM virtual machine running inside the Host with an IP 192.168.122.152. I installed an FTP server in the Guest machine with VSFTPD. From the Host, if I try the command $ ftp -p 192.168.122.152, works perfectly and I can connect to the Guest FTP. I need to remark that this FTP is configured as passive, but both passive and active connections are working from the Host. This is an extract of part of /etc/vsftpd.conf in the Guest: # Passive mode connect_from_port_20=NO tcp_wrappers=YES listen_address=192.168.122.152 pasv_enable=YES pasv_promiscuous=NO port_enable=YES port_promiscuous=NO pasv_max_port=10000 pasv_min_port=10250 Now it's time to make it accessible from outside, so I configure /etc/haproxy/haproxy.cfg like this: listen FTP_Default *:21 server ftp01 192.168.122.152 check port 21 inter 10s rise 1 fall 2 listen FTP_Range *:10000-10250 server ftp01 192.168.122.152 check port 21 inter 10s rise 1 fall 2 But if I try to connect from other machine in internet $ ftp -p $PUBLICIP, it only responds: Connected to <PUBLICIP>, but it doesn't ask for the login and password. • MailEnable - Configuring TLS for secure SMTP (Gmail)

  I have the latest version of MailEnable Pro installed on a new server that I'm setting up. Sending & receiving works fine with a new email account that I have set up, however I am now trying to configure GMail to use the mailserver for outgoing SMTP. I've done the following so far: Creating a self-cert SSL certficiate Ticked "Enable TLS" on the General tab of the SMTP connector properties Ticked "Send using TLS if remote server supports it" on the Outbound tab of the SMTP connector properties Selected the new self-cert SSL certificate on the SSL tab of the localhost server properties. Given permissions to IME_System on the new certificate However, Gmail is still giving me the following error: Authentication failed. Please check your username/password. [Server response: 454 TLS not available due to temporary reason code(454) ] I'm trying to connect on port 25, (someone told me you can still do this and you dont have to connect on 465). Is this right? Or do I need to tell MailEnable to use port 465? Am I missing something? Thanks, Chris.

• Varnish 3.0.2 and ISPConfig 3.0.4

  I followed the tutorial The Perfect Server - Ubuntu 11.10 [ISPConfig 3] here. I'm running an Ubuntu 11.04 (Natty Narwhal) server with 1024 RAM on Rackspace. I've gone through and updated to ISPConfig 3.0.4. Everything has been working great up to now when I decided to try and install Varnish. Initially I did an install of Varnish by issuing: apt-get update apt-get upgrade apt-get install varnish Apparently the version that was installed was Varnish 2.x so I went back and added the repositories for packages provided by varnish-cache.org curl http://repo.varnish-cache.org/debian/GPG-key.txt | apt-key add - echo "deb http://repo.varnish-cache.org/ubuntu/ lucid varnish-3.0" >> /etc/apt/sources.list apt-get update apt-get install varnish This updated my version of Varnish to 3.0.2 I then proceeded to make the following changes: vim /etc/default/varnish change DAEMON_OPTS to port 80: vim /etc/apache2/ports.conf NameVirtualHost *:8000 Listen 8000 vim /etc/apache2/sites-available/default <VirtualHost *:8000> vim /etc/apache2/sites-available/ispconfig.vhost Listen 8080 NameVirtualHost *:8080 <VirtualHost _default_:8080> I then proceeded to set my other vhosts to use 8000 (the apache2 port) so with all this set I reset both Apache2 and Varnish to test. I used Firebug in Firefox 11.0 The output from what I see doesn't seem to indicate that Varnish is working completely correct: First of all I see: X-Varnish 1644834493 but I've heard that unless you have two timestamps side by side than it's probably not working correctly so for example I was thinking I might see something like: X-Varnish 1644834493 1644837493 Also if I noticed this in the output which seems to be inconstant: X-Drupal-Cache MISS There are times when it will say HIT as well.... So the question here that I have is I think Varnish is partially working, however, why don't I see two timestamps on X-Varnish like I'm thinking I should and does the output of the screenshot I have look correct? If Varnish isn't working can someone tell me what I might being doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

  I am trying to configure our web server (RHEL 5.4 x86) to connect to an Oracle database using unixODBC. I have installed unixODBC-2.2.11-7.1.1, which yum tells me is the latest version. I have also installed the Oracle InstantClient 11.2 and the Oracle InstantClient ODBC library. I have symlinked the all the .so files in /usr/lib/oracle/11.2/client/lib to /usr/lib. I have set $LD_LIBRARY_PATH to /usr/lib/, $ORACLE_HOME to /usr/lib/oracle and $TNS_ADMIN to the directory containing my (valid) Tnsnames.ora file. I am downloading reports from an AIX-based system by directing them to a TT printer which the terminal emulator (MultiView 2000) intercepts and directs to the default printer on the local system. This local printer is configured as a vanilla Generic/Text printer attached to a FILE port. When I print from AIX, the output is spooled down and the local printer prompts for a file name into which to save the file...but not under Windows 7. This has worked fine for many years, on both Win2K and WinXP. However, on Windows 7 the output gets spooled as a file into spool\PRINTERS (and looks as expected) but the print job then hangs with a status of "Error - Printing" and never prompts for a file name. I have to cancel the job. The Generic/Text printer works as expected with other applications. I have tried setting the printer to print directly rather than spooling but this only serves to hang the terminal session too. I've also tried to run the emulator in Windows 2000 Compatibility Mode and as Administrator in case it was something like that but with no luck. As you might expect, it does work fine in XP Mode (as long as I print to a printer defined therein and not the host's printer) but operationally this isn't going to be an option. Obviously this emulation software is a decade old (at least) and I could just cross/upgrade all the users (at a cost) but, before I do so, has anyone seen this sort of behaviour before and found some sort of fix?   Posted this question on stackoverflow but then got instructed to post it here: I was using Rapid7's Nexpose to scan one of our web servers (windows server 2008), and got a vulnerability for timestamp response. According to Rapid7, timestamp response shall be disabled: http://www.rapid7.com/db/vulnerabilities/generic-tcp-timestamp So far I have tried several things: Edit the registry, add a "Tcp1323Opts" key to HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters, and set it to 0. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc938205.aspx Use this command: netsh int tcp set global timestamps=disabled Tried powershell command: Set-netTCPsetting -SettingName InternetCustom -Timestamps disabled (got error: Set-netTCPsetting : The term 'Set-netTCPsetting' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or operable program. Check the spelling of the name, or if a path was included, verify that the path is correct and try again.) None of above attempts was successful, after re-scan we still got the same alert. Rapid7 suggested using a firewall that's capable of blocking it, but we want to know if there is a setting on windows to achieve it. Is it through a specific port? If yes, what is the port number? If not, could you suggest a 3rd party firewall that is capable of blocking it? Thank you very much.

When I start the client connect to the local DC and get an authentification error (Code 0x507). I've already done the following: • Server Setup to run as a standalone local "DC" to provide Terminal services to a single application. Remote Desktop Session Host CAL License is running & operational, RD Gateway Manager w/ Local Server RAP & CAP running NLA & operational etc..... Server has NLA & temporary use of port 3389 (which is directly connected to and accessible from the internet (I am planning to change the port to 443, but want to get the current system running first). • XP Client(s): RDP-Version on win xp clients is 6.1 If had SP2, then added SP3 and edited the registry settings to allow NLA, by: Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then press ENTER. In the navigation pane, locate and then click the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa In the details pane, right-click Security Packages, and then click Modify. In the Value data box, type tspkg. Leave any data that is specific to other SSPs, and then click OK.   I'm using GlusterFS 3.3.2. Two servers, a brick on each one. The Volume is "ARCHIVE80" I can mount the volume on Server2; if I touch a new file, it appears inside the brick on Server1. • mount.nfs: access denied by server while mounting (null), can't find any log information

  Two ubuntu servers: 10.0.8.2 is the client, 192.168.20.58 is the server. Between the 2 machines, Ping works, ssh works (in both directions). From 10.0.8.2 showmount -e 192.168.20.58 Export list for 192.168.20.58: /imr/nfsshares/foobar 10.0.8.2 mount.nfs 192.168.20.58:/imr/nfsshares/foobar /var/data/foobar -v mount.nfs: access denied by server while mounting (null) Found several things online, tried them all and still can't find any log information anywhere. On the server: [email protected]:/var/log# cat /etc/hosts.allow sendmail: all ALL: 10.0.8.2 /etc/hosts.deny is all comments How can I get a trail of log statements to figure this out? What does it take to get some logging so I have some idea of WHY it won't mount?
