  • Changing the color of dot depending from value on Morris js graph

    - by Michal Lipa
    Im rendering graph by morris js. Im using data from mysql database by JSON. Everything works fine, but I would like to add one more feature to the graph. (change dot color if there is something in buy action). My JSON: [{"longdate":"2014-08-20 18:20:01","price":"1620","action":"buy"},{"longdate":"2014-08-20 18:40:01","price":"1640","action":""},{"longdate":"2014-08-20 19:00:01","price":"1620","action":""}] So I would like to change dot color for values with buy action. My code for graph: $.getJSON('results.json', function(day_data) { Morris.Line({ element: 'graph', data: day_data, xkey: 'longdate', ykeys: ['price'], labels: ['Cena'], lineColors: lineColor, pointSize: 0, hoverCallback: function(index, options, content) { var date = "<b><font color='black'>Data: "+day_data[index]['longdate']+"</font></b><br>"; var param1 = "<font color='"+lineColor[0]+"'>Cena - "+day_data[index]['price']+"</font><br>"; return date+param1; }, xLabelFormat : function (x) { return changeDateFormat(x); } /*My TRIAL if(action == 'buy'){ pointSize: 4, lineColors: green, } */ }); }); So my code doesnt work, how can I make this working?

  • Reading data from an open HTTP stream

    - by allenjones
    Hi, I am trying to use the .NET WebRequest/WebResponse classes to access the Twitter streaming API here "http://stream.twitter.com/spritzer.json". I need to be able to open the connection and read data incrementally from the open connection. Currently, when I call WebRequest.GetResponse method, it blocks until the entire response is downloaded. I know there is a BeginGetResponse method, but this will just do the same thing on a background thread. I need to get access to the response stream while the download is still happening. This just does not seem possible to me with these classes. There is a specific comment about this in the Twitter documentation: "Please note that some HTTP client libraries only return the response body after the connection has been closed by the server. These clients will not work for accessing the Streaming API. You must use an HTTP client that will return response data incrementally. Most robust HTTP client libraries will provide this functionality. The Apache HttpClient will handle this use case, for example." They point to the Appache HttpClient, but that doesn't help much because I need to use .NET. Any ideas whether this is possible with WebRequest/WebResponse, or do I have to go for lower level networking classes? Maybe there are other libraries that will allow me to do this? Thx Allen

  • Java Polynomial Multiplication with ArrayList

    - by user1506919
    I am having a problem with one of my methods in my program. The method is designed to take 2 arraylists and the perform multiplication between the two like a polynomial. For example, if I was to say list1={3,2,1} and list2={5,6,7}; I am trying to get a return value of 15,28,38,20,7. However, all I can get is an error message that says: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException: Index: 0, Size: 0. I have provided the method below: private static ArrayList<Integer> multiply(ArrayList<Integer> list1,ArrayList<Integer> list2) { ArrayList<Integer> array =new ArrayList<Integer>(list1.size()+list2.size()); for (int i=0;i<array.size();i++) array.add(i, 0); for (int i = 0; i < list1.size(); i++) for (int j = 0; j < list2.size(); j++) array.set(i+j, ((list1.get(i) * list2.get(j))+array.get(i+j))); return array; } Any help with solving this problem is greatly appreciated.

  • Getting Feedburner Subscriber With CURL

    - by Eray Alakese
    I'm using FeedBurner Awareness API. XML data like this : <rsp stat="ok"> - <!-- This information is part of the FeedBurner Awareness API. If you want to hide this information, you may do so via your FeedBurner Account. --> - <feed id="9n66llmt1frfir51p0oa367ru4" uri="teknoblogo"> <entry date="2011-01-15" circulation="11" hits="18" reach="0"/> </feed> </rsp> I want to get circulation data (11) . I'm using this code: $whaturl="https://feedburner.google.com/api/awareness/1.0/GetFeedData?uri=teknoblogo"; //Initialize the Curl session $ch = curl_init(); //Set curl to return the data instead of printing it to the browser. curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, 1); //Set the URL curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, $whaturl); //Execute the fetch $data = curl_exec($ch); //Close the connection curl_close($ch); $xml = new SimpleXMLElement($data); $fb = $xml->feed->entry['circulation']; echo $fb; echo "OK"; But, returned data is blank. There isn't any error. Only return OK . How can i solve this ? EDIT : echo $data; returning blank, too.

  • recommended format to save time with MJD + BCD format in database

    - by pierr
    Hi, There is a time represented in MJD and BCD format with 5 bytes .I am wondering what is the recommended format to save this date-time in the sqlite database so that user can search against it ? My first attempt is to save it just as it is, that is a 5 bytes string. The user will use the same format to search and the result will be converted to unix time by the user with following code. However, later, I was suggested to save the time in the integer - the UTC time, for example. But I can not find a standard way to do the conversion. I feel this is a common issue and would like to hear your comments. time_t sidate_to_unixtime(unsigned char sidate[]) { int k = 0; struct tm tm; double mjd; /* check for the undefined value */ if ((sidate[0] == 0xff) && (sidate[1] == 0xff) && (sidate[2] == 0xff) && (sidate[3] == 0xff) && (sidate[4] == 0xff)) { return -1; } memset(&tm, 0, sizeof(tm)); mjd = (sidate[0] << 8) | sidate[1]; tm.tm_year = (int) ((mjd - 15078.2) / 365.25); tm.tm_mon = (int) (((mjd - 14956.1) - (int) (tm.tm_year * 365.25)) / 30.6001); tm.tm_mday = (int) mjd - 14956 - (int) (tm.tm_year * 365.25) - (int) (tm.tm_mon * 30.6001); if ((tm.tm_mon == 14) || (tm.tm_mon == 15)) k = 1; tm.tm_year += k; tm.tm_mon = tm.tm_mon - 2 - k * 12; tm.tm_sec = bcd_to_integer(sidate[4]); tm.tm_min = bcd_to_integer(sidate[3]); tm.tm_hour = bcd_to_integer(sidate[2]); return mktime(&tm); }

  • Diamond problem in C++

    - by Jack
    I know the diamond problem. I am using gcc compiler. I have some scenarios I need explanation about. 1) class A{ public: virtual void eat(){cout<<"A eat\n";} }; class B:public A{ public: void eat(){ cout<<"B eat\n";}}; class C:public A{ public: void eat(){ cout<<"C eat\n";}}; class D:public B,C{ public: void eat(){ cout<<"D eat\n";}}; int main() { A * a = new D(); a->eat(); getch(); return 0; } Why doesn't this work? 2) class A{ public: void eat(){cout<<"A eat\n";} }; class B:virtual public A{ public: void eat(){ cout<<"B eat\n";}}; class C:virtual public A{ public: void eat(){ cout<<"C eat\n";}}; class D: public B,C{ public: void eat(){ cout<<"D eat\n";}}; int main() { A * a = new D(); a->eat(); getch(); return 0; } When I do this what happens in the background. How does the ambiguity get removed. Is the concept of vtables involved here?

  • ListBox and Listview problem

    - by Anu
    Hi, I have listbox in my applcation and corresponding coding.. XAML: <DataTemplate x:Key="menuItemTemplate"> <WrapPanel> <TextBlock Text="{Binding Path = Menu}" /> </WrapPanel> </DataTemplate> <ListBox x:Name="menubox" ItemsSource="{Binding}" ItemTemplate="{StaticResource menuItemTemplate}" Margin="0,5,0,0"> .CS : public void Add(string[] menu) { ItemList items = ItemList.Load(menu); DataContext = items; } It works fine.Later i add Listview for another purpose and i coded like the same way of listbox XAML: <DataTemplate x:Key="ListItemTemplate"> <WrapPanel> <TextBlock Text="{Binding Path = Title}" /> </WrapPanel> </DataTemplate> <ListView ItemsSource="{Binding}" ItemTemplate="{StaticResource ListItemTemplate}" Name="listView1" /> .cs coding: public void SetTree(string Title,int BoxNo ) { TreeList items1 = TreeList.Load(Title,BoxNo); DataContext = items1; } After adding Listview,what happended this ListView show data,but Listbox didnot show anything.When i click the listbox it perfectly executing the clicking event of listbox.Only problem it doesnot display the text.What can i do for that. Here i added corresponding list class pls see tht. namespace Tabcontrol { public class TreeList : Collection<TreeItems> { public int size; public TreeList() { size = 0; } public int Count { get { return size; } } public static TreeList Load(string pmenu,int Box) { TreeList result = new TreeList(); TreeItems item = TreeItems.Load(pmenu,Box); result.Add(item); return result; } } } The ItemList class also the same thing, only variable names are getting differred.

  • Synchronizing Access to a member of the ASP.NET session

    - by Sam
    I'm building a Javascript application and eash user has an individual UserSession. The application makes a bunch of Ajax calls. Each Ajax call needs access to a single UserSession object for the user. Each Ajax call needs a UserSession object. Data in the UserSession object is unique to each user. Originally, during each Ajax call I would create a new UserSession object and it's data members were stored in the ASP.NET Session. However, I found that the UserSession object was being instantiated a lot. To minimize the construction of the UserSession object, I wrapped it in a Singleton pattern and sychronized access to it. I believe that the synchronization is happening application wide, however I only need it to happen per user. I saw a post here that says the ASP.NET cache is synchronized, however the time between creating the object and inserting it into the cache another Thread could start construction it's another object and insert it into the cache. Here is the way I'm currently synchronizing access to the object. Is there a better way than using "lock"... should be be locking on the HttpContext.Session object? private static object SessionLock = new object(); public static WebSession GetSession { get { lock (SessionLock) { try { var context = HttpContext.Current; WebSession result = null; if (context.Session["MySession"] == null) { result = new WebSession(context); context.Session["MySession"] = result; } else { result = (WebSession)context.Session["MySession"]; } return result; } catch (Exception ex) { ex.Handle(); return null; } } } }

  • Rhino Mocks Partial Mock

    - by dotnet crazy kid
    I am trying to test the logic from some existing classes. It is not possible to re-factor the classes at present as they are very complex and in production. What I want to do is create a mock object and test a method that internally calls another method that is very hard to mock. So I want to just set a behaviour for the secondary method call. But when I setup the behaviour for the method, the code of the method is invoked and fails. Am I missing something or is this just not possible to test without re-factoring the class? I have tried all the different mock types (Strick,Stub,Dynamic,Partial ect.) but they all end up calling the method when I try to set up the behaviour. using System; using MbUnit.Framework; using Rhino.Mocks; namespace MMBusinessObjects.Tests { [TestFixture] public class PartialMockExampleFixture { [Test] public void Simple_Partial_Mock_Test() { const string param = "anything"; //setup mocks MockRepository mocks = new MockRepository(); var mockTestClass = mocks.StrictMock<TestClass>(); //record beahviour *** actualy call into the real method stub *** Expect.Call(mockTestClass.MethodToMock(param)).Return(true); //never get to here mocks.ReplayAll(); //this is what i want to test Assert.IsTrue(mockTestClass.MethodIWantToTest(param)); } public class TestClass { public bool MethodToMock(string param) { //some logic that is very hard to mock throw new NotImplementedException(); } public bool MethodIWantToTest(string param) { //this method calls the if( MethodToMock(param) ) { //some logic i want to test } return true; } } } }

  • How to implement an ID field on a POCO representing an Identity field in MS SQL?

    - by Dr. Zim
    If I have a Domain Model that has an ID that maps to a SQL identity column, what does the POCO look like that contains that field? Candidate 1: Allows anyone to set and get the ID. I don't think we want anyone setting the ID except the Repository, from the SQL table. public class Thing { public int ID {get;set;} } Candidate 2: Allows someone to set the ID upon creation, but we won't know the ID until after we create the object (factory creates a blank Thing object where ID = 0 until we persist it). How would we set the ID after persisting? public class Thing { public Thing () : This (ID: 0) {} public Thing (int ID) { this.ID = ID } private int _ID; public int ID { get { return this.ID;}; } Candidate 3: Methods to set ID? Somehow we would need to allow the Repository to set the ID without allowing the consumer to change it. Any ideas? Is this barking up the wrong tree? Do we send the object to the Repository, save it, throw it away, then create a new object from the loaded version and return that as a new object?

  • Show progress during a long Ajax call

    - by kousen
    I have a simple web site (http://www.kousenit.com/twitterfollowervalue) that computes a quantity based on a person's Twitter followers. Since the Twitter API only returns followers 100 at a time, a complete process may involve lots of calls. At the moment, I have an Ajax call to a method that runs the Twitter loop. The method looks like (Groovy): def updateFollowers() { def slurper = new XmlSlurper() followers = [] def next = -1 while (next) { def url = "http://api.twitter.com/1/statuses/followers.xml?id=$id&cursor=$next" def response = slurper.parse(url) response.users.user.each { u -> followers << new TwitterUser(... process data ...) } next = response.next_cursor.toBigInteger() } return followers } This is invoked from a controller called renderTTFV.groovy. I call the controller via an Ajax call using the prototype library: On my web page, in the header section (JavaScript): function displayTTFV() { new Ajax.Updater('ttfv','renderTTFV.groovy', {}); } and there's a div in the body of the page that updates when the call is complete. Everything is working, but the updateFollowers method can take a fair amount of time. Is there some way I could return a progress value? For example, I'd like to update the web page on every iteration. I know ahead of time how many iterations there will be. I just can't figure out a way to update the page in the middle of that loop. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  • Binding search results to data grid

    - by Abid
    I want to add search functionality to my program. There's a class which has this function: public DataTable Search() { string SQL = "Select * from Customer where " + mField + " like '%" + mValue + "%'"; DataTable dt = new DataTable(); dt = dm.GetData(SQL); return (dt); } There are setter and getter properties for mField and mValue. DM is the object of class DataManagement, which has a method GetData: public DataTable GetData(string SQL) { SqlCommand command = new SqlCommand(); SqlDataAdapter dbAdapter = new SqlDataAdapter(); DataTable DataTable = new DataTable(); command.Connection = clsConnection.GetConnection(); command.CommandText = SQL; dbAdapter.SelectCommand = command; dbAdapter.Fill(DataTable); return (DataTable); } The search functionality is currently implemented like this: private void btnfind_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { //cust is the object of class customer// if (tbCustName.Text != "") { cust.Field="CustName"; cust.Value = tbCustName.Text; } else if (tbAddress.Text != "") { cust.Value = tbAddress.Text; cust.Field="Address"; } else if (tbEmail.Text != "") { cust.Value = tbEmail.Text; cust.Field="Email"; } else if (tbCell.Text != "") { cust.Value = tbCell.Text; cust.Field = "Cell"; } DataTable dt = new DataTable(); dt = cust.Search(); dgCustomer.DataSource = dt; RefreshGrid(); } private void RefreshGrid() { DataTable dt = new DataTable(); dt = cust.GetCustomers(); dgCustomer.DataSource = dt; } This is not working. I don't know why. Please help.

  • Complex SQL query, one to many relationship

    - by Ethan
    Hey SO, I have a query such that I need to get A specific dog All comments relating to that dog The user who posted each comment All links to images of the dog the user who posted each link I've tried a several things, and can't figure out quite how to work it. Here's what I have (condensed so you don't have to wade through it all): SELECT s.dog_id, s.name, c.comment, c.date_added AS comment_date_added, u.username AS comment_username, u.user_id AS comment_user_id, l.link AS link, l.date_added AS link_date_added, u2.username AS link_username, u2.user_id AS link_user_id FROM dogs AS d LEFT JOIN comments AS c ON c.dog_id = d.dog_id LEFT JOIN users AS u ON c.user_id = u.user_id LEFT JOIN links AS l ON l.dog_id = d.dog_id LEFT JOIN users AS u2 ON l.user_id = u2.user_id WHERE d.dog_id = '1' It's sorta close to working, but it'll only return me the first comment, and the first link all as one big array with all the info i requested. The are multiple comments and links per dog, so I need it to give me all the comments and all the links. Ideally it'd return an object with dog_id, name, comments(an array of the comments), links(an array of the links) and then comments would have a bunch of comments, date_added, username, and user_id and links would have a bunch of links with link, date_added, username and user_id. It's got to work even if there are no links or comments. I learned the basics of mySQL somewhat recently, but this is pretty far over my head. Any help would be wonderful. Thanks!

  • In a bidirectional JPA OneToMany/ManyToOne association, what is meant by "the inverse side of the as

    - by Bytecode Ninja
    In these examples on TopLink JPA Annotation Reference: Example 1-59 @OneToMany - Customer Class With Generics @Entity public class Customer implements Serializable { ... @OneToMany(cascade=ALL, mappedBy="customer") public Set<Order> getOrders() { return orders; } ... } Example 1-60 @ManyToOne - Order Class With Generics @Entity public class Order implements Serializable { ... @ManyToOne @JoinColumn(name="CUST_ID", nullable=false) public Customer getCustomer() { return customer; } ... } It seams to me that the Customer entity is the owner of the association. However, in the explanation for the mappedBy attribute in the same document, it is written that: if the relationship is bidirectional, then set the mappedBy element on the inverse (non-owning) side of the association to the name of the field or property that owns the relationship as Example 1-60 shows. However, if I am not wrong, looks like in the example the mappedBy is actually specified on the owning side of the association, rather than the non-owning side. So my question is basically: In a bidirectional (one-to-many/many-to-one) association, which of the entities is the owner? How can we designate the One side as the owner? How can we designate the Many side as the owner? What is meant by "the inverse side of the association"? How can we designate the One side as the inverse? How can we designate the Many side as the inverse? Thanks in advance.

  • how to implement a really efficient bitvector sorting in python

    - by xiao
    Hello guys! Actually this is an interesting topic from programming pearls, sorting 10 digits telephone numbers in a limited memory with an efficient algorithm. You can find the whole story here What I am interested in is just how fast the implementation could be in python. I have done a naive implementation with the module bitvector. The code is as following: from BitVector import BitVector import timeit import random import time import sys def sort(input_li): return sorted(input_li) def vec_sort(input_li): bv = BitVector( size = len(input_li) ) for i in input_li: bv[i] = 1 res_li = [] for i in range(len(bv)): if bv[i]: res_li.append(i) return res_li if __name__ == "__main__": test_data = range(int(sys.argv[1])) print 'test_data size is:', sys.argv[1] random.shuffle(test_data) start = time.time() sort(test_data) elapsed = (time.time() - start) print "sort function takes " + str(elapsed) start = time.time() vec_sort(test_data) elapsed = (time.time() - start) print "sort function takes " + str(elapsed) start = time.time() vec_sort(test_data) elapsed = (time.time() - start) print "vec_sort function takes " + str(elapsed) I have tested from array size 100 to 10,000,000 in my macbook(2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 2GB SDRAM), the result is as following: test_data size is: 1000 sort function takes 0.000274896621704 vec_sort function takes 0.00383687019348 test_data size is: 10000 sort function takes 0.00380706787109 vec_sort function takes 0.0371489524841 test_data size is: 100000 sort function takes 0.0520560741425 vec_sort function takes 0.374383926392 test_data size is: 1000000 sort function takes 0.867373943329 vec_sort function takes 3.80475401878 test_data size is: 10000000 sort function takes 12.9204008579 vec_sort function takes 38.8053860664 What disappoints me is that even when the test_data size is 100,000,000, the sort function is still faster than vec_sort. Is there any way to accelerate the vec_sort function?

  • Putting Select Statement on Hibernate Transaction

    Hi All, I have been reading the net for a while regarding Hibernate but I can seem to understand one concept regarding Transaction. Any thoughts please? Are transactions needed on Select Statements or not? Thanks

  • Python Twisted Client Connection Lost

    I have this twisted client, which connects with a twisted server having an index. I ran this client from command-line. It worked fine. Now I modified it to run in loop (see main()) so that I can keep querying. But the client runs only once. Next time it simply says connection lost \n Connection lost - goodbye!. What am i doing wrong? In the loop I am reconnecting to the server, it that wrong? from twisted.internet import reactor from twisted.internet import protocol from settings import AS_SERVER_HOST, AS_SERVER_PORT # a client protocol class Spell_client(protocol.Protocol): """Once connected, send a message, then print the result.""" def connectionMade(self): self.transport.write(self.factory.query) def dataReceived(self, data): "As soon as any data is received, write it back." if data == '!': self.factory.results = '' else: self.factory.results = data self.transport.loseConnection() def connectionLost(self, reason): print "\tconnection lost" class Spell_Factory(protocol.ClientFactory): protocol = Spell_client def __init__(self, query): self.query = query self.results = '' def clientConnectionFailed(self, connector, reason): print "\tConnection failed - goodbye!" reactor.stop() def clientConnectionLost(self, connector, reason): print "\tConnection lost - goodbye!" reactor.stop() # this connects the protocol to a server runing on port 8090 def main(): print 'Connecting to %s:%d' % (AS_SERVER_HOST, AS_SERVER_PORT) while True: print query = raw_input("Query:") if query == '': return f = Spell_Factory(query) reactor.connectTCP(AS_SERVER_HOST, AS_SERVER_PORT, f) reactor.run() print f.results return if __name__ == '__main__': main()

  • Template compiling errors on iPhone SDK 3.2

    - by Didier Malenfant
    I'm porting over some templated code from Windows and I'm hitting some compiler differences on the iPhone 3.2 SDK. Original code inside a class template's member function is: return BinarySearch<uint32, CSimpleKey<T> >(key); where BinarySearch is a method inherited from another template. This produces the following error: csimplekeytable.h:131: error: no matching function for call to 'BinarySearch(NEngine::uint32&)' The visual studio compiler seems to walk up the template hierarchy fine but gcc needs me to fully qualify where the function comes from (I have verified this by fixing the same issues with template member variables that way). So I now need to change this into: return CSimpleTable<CSimpleKey<T> >::BinarySearch<uint32, CSimpleKey<T> >(key); Which now produces the following error: csimplekeytable.h:132: error: expected primary-expression before ',' token csimplekeytable.h:132: error: expected primary-expression before '>' token After some head scratching, I believe what's going on here is that it's trying to resolve the '<' before BinarySearch as a 'Less Than' operator for some reason. So two questions: - Am I on the right path with my interpretation of the error? - How do I fix it? -D

  • WPF binding problem

    - by xine
    I've got some bindings in UI: <Window x:Class="Tester.MainWindow" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Title="MainWindow" Height="377" Width="562" xmlns:my="clr-namespace:MyApp"> <Grid> <TextBlock Text="{Binding Path=current.Text}" Name="Text1" /> <TextBlock Text="{Binding Path=current.o.Text}" Name="Text2" /> </Grid> </Window> Code: class Coordinator : INotifyPropertyChanged{ List<Myclass1> list; int currId = 0; public Myclass1 current{ return list[currId]; } public int CurrId { get { return currId; } set { currId = value; this.PropertyChanged(this,new PropertyChangedEventArgs("current")); } } class Myclass1{ public string Text{get;} public Myclass2 o{get;} } class Myclass2{ public string Text{get;} } When currId changes Tex1 in UI changes too,but Text2 doesn't. I'm assuming this happens because Text2's source isn't updated. Does anyone know how to fix it?

  • HATEOAS - Discovery and URI Templating

    - by Paul Kirby
    I'm designing a HATEOAS API for internal data at my company, but have been having troubles with the discovery of links. Consider the following set of steps for someone to retrieve information about a specific employee in this system: User sends GET to http://coredata/ to get all available resources, returns a number of links including one tagged as rel = "http://coredata/rels/employees" User follows HREF on the rel from the first request, performing a GET at (for example) http://coredata/employees The data returned from this last call is my conundrum and a situation where I've heard mixed suggestions. Here are some of them: That GET will return all employees (with perhaps truncated data), and the client would be responsible for picking the one it wants from that list. That GET would return a number of URI templated links describing how to query / get one employee / get all employees. Something like: "_links": { "http://coredata/rels/employees#RetrieveOne": { "href": "http://coredata/employees/{id}" }, "http://coredata/rels/employees#Query": { "href": "http://coredata/employees{?login,firstName,lastName}" }, "http://coredata/rels/employees#All": { "href": "http://coredata/employees/all" } } I'm a little stuck here with what remains closest to HATEOAS. For option 1, I really do not want to make my clients retrieve all employees every time for the sake of navigation, but I can see how using URI templating in example two introduces some out-of-band knowledge. My other thought was to use the RetrieveOne, Query, and All operations as my cool URLs, but that seems to violate the concept that you should be able to navigate to the resources you want from one base URI. Has anyone else managed to come up with a good way to handle this? Navigation is dead simple once you've retrieved one resource or a set of resources, but it seems very difficult to use for discovery.

  • Scriptaculous problem in IE

    - by Django Reinhardt
    Hi there. We've got this very annoying problem with Scriptaculous and Internet Explorer 7/8. We have two Effect.toggles on the same page, but only one of them is ever working (the first one). I hope it's some simple mistake in my implementation, but I can't seem to find any decent documentation. Hopefully somebody here can help. The HTML/JS looks like this: <ul> <li id="LinkA" class="icon"> <a onclick="new Effect.toggle('divA', 'slide', { duration: 0.6 }); return false;" href="#">Show List A</a> </li> </ul> <div id="divA" style="display:none"> <div> -- Things to display -- </div> </div> <ul> <li id="LinkB" class="icon"> <a onclick="new Effect.toggle('divB', 'slide', { duration: 0.6 }); return false;" href="#">Show List B</a> </li> </ul> <div id="divB" style="display:none"> <div> -- Things to display -- </div> </div> It works perfectly in Chrome and Firefox, but the second one never works in IE 7 or 8, no matter what I do. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • How do I set up routes to enable me to call different actions on the same controller?

    - by Remnant
    I am building my first asp.net mvc application for learning and development purposes and have come across an issue that I'd like some guidance with. Suppose I have a controller with two actions as follows: public class MyController : Controller { public ActionResult Index() { dbData = GetData("DefaultParameter") return View(dbData); } public ActionResult UpdateView(string dbParameter) { dbData = GetData("dbParameter"); return View(dbData); } } On my webpage I have the following: <% using (Html.BeginForm("UpdateView", "MyController")) %> <% { %> <div class="dropdown"><%=Html.DropDownList("Selection", Model.List, new { onchange="this.form.submit();" })%></div> <% } %> I have the following route in Global.asax: public static void RegisterRoutes(RouteCollection routes) { routes.MapRoute("Default", "{controller}", new { controller = "MyController", action = "Index"}); } The issue I am having is as follows: When I use the dropdownlist I get an error saying that /MyController/UpdateView could not be found. It therefore seems that I need to add an additional route as follows: routes.MapRoute("Default", "{controller}", new { controller = "MyController", action = "UpdateView"}); However, this causes two new issues for me: Due to the hierachy within the routing list, the similarity of the routes means that the one that appears first in the list is always executed. I don't see why I need to create another route for UpdateView. All I want to do is to retrieve new data from the database and update the view. I don't see what this has to do with the URL schema. It feels like I have gone down the wrong track here and I have missed something quite fundamental?
